Later that afternoon Shanti started telling her mother about meeting Mowgli.
Sundar: Okay sweetie. You're absolutely sure you saw a jungle boy?
Shanti: Yes. And he was amazing. I think i'm starting to like him.
Buldeo: Did you say you met a jungle boy?
Shanti: Yes i did.
Buldeo: What does he look like?
Shanti: Well he's five foot seven like me and he has black messy hair and wears a red loincloth.
Buldeo: Kind of reminds me of my brother Ayann when he took his son to the jungle until he got killed by a tiger and his son was lost in the jungle who never returned.
Shanti: What was the boy's name?
Buldeo: I believe his name is Nathoo.
Shanti: (gasps) Mowgli's father was killed by Shere Khan. And his real name is Nathoo. I better tell him first thing tomorrow morning.
Shanti finally knew the name of Mowgli's lost father and knew his real name. So the next morning at the wolf pack Mowgli woke up and went off to see Shanti. After going through the jungle he finally found her and her mother and the others.
Mowgli: Good morning Shanti.
Shanti: Good morning Mowgli.
Mowgli: Who are these other people you're with?
Shanti: That's my mother and that's her friend Messua and her son Ranjan. And that man is Buldeo. He's your uncle.
Mowgli: My uncle?
Shanti: Yeah. You see he had a brother who happened to be your father who got killed by Shere Khan. And your real name is Nathoo.
Mowgli: What? How come Bagheera never told me about this?!
Shanti: Well I think Nathoo is a very stupid name. I think Mowgli is a delightful name you have. Would you like to join us for breakfast?
Mowgli: Um yes. I'd love to join you for breakfast.
Shanti: I'll wake up my mother and she will make us breakfast. Hey mom wake up.
Sundar: Good morning Shanti. What do you want?
Shanti: I would like some breakfast. And this is the jungle boy I told you about. This is Mowgli.
Mowgli: Uh hi there. Nice to meet you Shanti's mother.
Sundar: Oh. So you're the jungle boy my daughter was telling you about. It's nice to meet you. Would you like some breakfast?
Mowgli: Yes please,
Sundar: Okay I'll make some pancakes. You'll probably like it.
Mowgli: Okay.
Soon the others were waking up.
Ranjan: Who's that boy mom?
Messua: I don't know sweetie. I never saw him before.
Buldeo: Is that the jungle boy?
Sundar: Yes and his name is Mowgli. And he's joining us for breakfast.
Ranjan: He looks cool. I think he's not dangerous.
Messua: You've got a good point Ranjan. He's not dangerous at all.
Shanti: See? I told you he's amazing.
Ranjan: Hello. I'm Ranjan. And this is my mom.
Mowgli: Nice to meet you. And you must be my uncle Buldeo.
Buldeo: Oh. Nice to see you Mowgli. I'm so surprised to see my nephew survive all these years getting lost in the jungle.
Mowgli: That's all right. I had lots of food to eat here. And I even have some friends that take care of me.
Buldeo: Who are these friends of yours?
Mowgli: Well they are a...
Shanti: Oh i'm sure his friends are very special but his friends would like to keep their whereabouts and their privacy a secret. Right Mowgli?
Mowgli: Oh yes they are. Shanti can I ask you something in private?
Shanti: Sure.
Mowgli took Shanti in the bushes and started talking.
Mowgli: Why can't I tell them about my friends?
Shanti: Well your friends are animals and my mom and the others might find it suspicious and worried that you're living with a sloth bear a black panther and wolfs. So we just need to keep this as a secret from them. And your uncle Buldeo secretly has a gun. And what's worse then that is he might want to kill your friends. But I don't know that yet. So let's just keep our eyes pealed and see what happens.
Mowgli: Okay. I won't tell them about my friends.
So as Mowgli and Shanti came out of the bushes they just whistled causally.
Sundar: What were you two talking about?
Mowgli: Oh nothing.
Shanti: Yeah nothing at all.
Sundar: Okay. Well the pancakes are ready. Would anyone like some maple syrup on them?
Shanti: I would please.
Ranjan: Me too.
Mowgli: I'll try some as well.
Sundar: Well here you go.
As they started eating their breakfast Mowgli was quite curious about the plate and fork they were using.
Mowgli: Hey. What's this weird looking stick?
Shanti: That's not a stick Mowgli. It's a fork. You use it to eat pancakes.
Mowgli: How do I use it?
Shanti: It's easy. You just hold it with your hand and you use it to poke the pancake and you use the fork to put the pancake in your mouth and eat it.
So then Mowgli started copying the same thing as Shanti did and he was now eating the same way people did and he was using how to use knifes and spoons when eating and learned how to wash and clean dishes And he was doing a good job. After that Shanti showed Mowgli some books and she taught him how to read and pronounce words and showed him how to write letters and numbers and learned about music and the first motion picture slideshows and movies. And Shanti even taught Mowgli how to do a slow dance to The Beautiful Blue Danube. Then Mowgli showed Shanti the amazing sights of the jungle like birds and the sights of all the animals. Soon Mowgli was about to learn the ways of man. And he would learn to do these things after breakfast.
Mowgli: I think I'm starting to get the hang of this.
To be continued..
