Chapter 33

The Father and The Show

It was unbelievable, it couldn't be, it can't, he shouldn't. All those thoughts and more, were racing through Kiralexia's head, echoing in his mind. His father figure, Dr. Kalvo, was right in front of him alive and well. Well as well as one can be missing a limb and an eye. Kiralexia was just frozen with fear and terror, sweat dripping from his face and his eyes nothing more than just tiny dots on his face. His breathing was sporadic and quick and he just stood there frozen as Dr. Kalvo walked forward with a small smile on his face. Melissa saw Kiralexia acting like this and knew why, while Hatsume could only tell that this man was not what he seemed to be.

Dr. Kalvo looked around the three quite uneasily and seemed a little off. His eyes darted from one to another before just staring at Kiralexia. Kiralexia tried to look away but found yet again his body refused to cooperate with him. Kalvo seemed a bit smug as he looked at Kiralexia before turning over to Mei Hatsume.

"This is yours I assume?"

"Yes he's my finest baby and can do so much-"

"Yes yes I can tell already this thing has a lot of potential for our world." Dr. Kalvo said cutting Hatsume off as he did so.

He continued to look over Kiralexia with intrigue and seemed in a trance as he did so. He kept doing this for about a minute before having his eyebrow raise. He then turned over to Hatsume eyebrow still raised and asked her a question.

"Where did you get the parts for this thing anyways?"

"Well I just found whatever was lying around that's all."

"Oh no, I feel as though you found something much better and used it as a frame."

"Well I got inspiration from a junk yard so."

"A Junkyard? Seems a bit, strange to find inspiration, especially with something as advanced as this." Kalvo said leaning a bit closer to Kiralexia with Kiralexia only slightly tipping back. Melissa now intervened and went right up to Kiralexia's side with a cheeky smile on her face.

"Well Ms. Hatsume is a unique person, and they are able to build almost anything from anything so such an idea isn't to far fetched."

'Perhaps, but now I want to see what this thing can even do." Kalvo asked with Kiralexia simply having his head shake around a bit. Melissa once again stepped in to try and make the situation less, this.

"No that's not a good idea!"

'Why is that Ms. Shield?" Kalvo asked looking a little annoyed.

"Well you see I want to save as much power on him as possible and if I test him now, less power would be used for the show later." Hatsume chimed in with Kiralexia looking a little more relieve and Kalvo raising an eyebrow at that statement.

"Well surely you can have him do something small instead?"

"Every percent of power counts Dr-"

"Kalvo. And ugh fine I can wait until the presentation of this beautiful piece of machinery. Until then I shall see all of you later." Dr. Kalvo said walking right up to Kiralexia's ear and whispering in it- "You especially Jacob." before leaving with Kiralexia just having his eyes dilate and look back as Dr. Kalvo just walked away as if nothing happened.

That was enough for Kiralexia to realize the situation he was in. Dr. Kalvo knew who he was, worse still, he must've known Hatsume and Melissa were lying to him and yet he was calm. He was never like that with him in life. Was he just toying with them? He didn't like the thought at all and his blood grew cold with fear. Hatsume and Melissa simply looked over as Dr. Kalvo walked away and sighed a bit of relief.

"Sheese that was a bit more intense than I wanted that to be. Who even is that guy?"

"He said who he was."

"Ya his name but not who he was."

"Well Dr. Kalvo is a man who funded a lot of things during his life. In fact he was the head of the quirk robot program and personally oversaw the construction of many machines born from it."

"Including me." Kiralexia spoke up still looking a bit shaken at the events transpired.

Mei and Melissa turned to face him. While yes Melissa was WELL aware of this little info on him, Mei was not. She only had a fraction of understanding of it, even then it wasn't fully realized at that. Now he just straight up said it, that man was the one who is the reason he even lives. Yet why is it that Kiralexia was so afraid of him?

"I'm sorry that's the man who had you built?"

"Yes, he was my… father figure to put it bluntly. However I do not consider that bastard my father for many goddamn reasons."

"Why he seems nice if a bit, rude."

"You don't understand Mei, that man abused me treated me like a weapon. To him I was just a number on a stat sheet. He's the reason I left this island in the first place, I would not be his slave anymore." Kiralexia said with a small sneer on his face. Hatsume walked up to try and comfort him but he immediately rejected it turning away and clenching onto his arms in a sort of terrified pose.

"I can't believe what I saw, or even heard. he's alive, and worse of all, he knows who I am."

"WHAT?! How is that even possible? wouldn't they think you're reprogrammed not rebuilt?"

"Then Dr. Kalvo wouldn't have called me Jacob now would he?" Kiralexia retorted clearly upset at the situation.

Hatsume stepped back for a split second and seemed caught off guard. She knew well what Kiralexia's past name was but believed it to be a dead one, thus she never used it. Yet here was one of the most highly influential scientists on the island calling him that. It was bad enough he clearly recognized him but this just made it so much more complicated. If he knew exactly what his name was, then the word may spread of this old machine coming back from the dead and fast. That was a thought that scared her, she didn't want to loose him to greedy bastards on this island but she had no idea if even this would happen.

"So what do we do now? Do you want to leave?" Hatsume asked with Kiralexia looked up to her eyes glazed a bit with tears.

"No, as much as I want to I'd rather not force you to lose all this opportunity because I am afraid of the past. Besides, even I don't know his own goals now. I practically ruined him back when I was leaving this island so who knows his plans other than himself."

"Well that is good to hear, but I do suggest you two be careful in the showcase. If Dr. Kalvo has more in plan with this knowledge, then we have to watch ourselves. I'll be in the crowd watching you on stage, good luck Kiralexia, and make sure to put on a good show." Melissa said before leaving with a wave of her hand to Kiralexia.

After that Kiralexia and Hatsume would make it to the hotel room. The little show would not start for a little while from now thus Kiralexia and Hatsume would just begin to prep up for it. Kiralexia stretched up a bit and used a few quirks to get use to them after neglecting it for many days. He went to the balcony, cause that's what they needed for a hotel room, and fired off a large blast of energy, that burned red with a blue tint to it. With that people noticed him and seemed a bit surprised at the sight of something like him up there. Kiralexia then quickly retreated back into the hotel room and began to concentrate energy.

After around 15 to 30 minutes of stretching his quirks and regaining strength, he and Hatsume were ready for the show. Hatsume spent time putting small touches on her other project being shown off and felt proud that it would show off a lot for her work. Once they went to the show, which was around the center of the island and on a make shift stage, Kiralexia began to breath a little frantically. He looked out to see Dr. Kalvo out there in the back talking with someone. Hatsume noticed Kiralexia getting nervous and decided to comfort him, in her own, Hatsume way.

"Hey don't worry, no matter what I won't let that man mess with my baby."

"Thanks?" Kiralexia said a little confused but was appreciating the sentiment.

He cracked his neck and took a deep breath and thus prepared himself for the show. Hatsume began to walk out and waved with a bit smile on her face. Kiralexia felt happy that she was happy about to show off her, unique machines.

"Hello everyone my name is Mei Hatsume and today I shall show you some new machines I have been working on. These babies of mine are strong, sturdy, and will last in a fight for much longer than a hero might. The first one I want to show off is this little baby of mine." Hatsume said revealing the drone.

It was flat headed but also round bodied. It was small but the flat part of it's head was rather large and looked more like a hat. The eyes it had glowed green and neon green lined the body as it began to start up. It seemed compact and hovered around in a sort of chippy way. On the rim of the flat hat piece was a name given by Hatsume, Josho Kaze. As it turned on the crowed clapped and seemed impressed by the drone as it turned its eyes to Hatsume, expecting some form of order. The biggest noteworthy part on it was the engine that was behind and under it as it hovered with a low blue light and had two large pipes come to connect it to the rest of the body.

As the drone hovered the one eye that it had looked around and seemed a little happy even. Hatsume noticed the few in the back of the crowd seemed less than impressed by the machine. Hatsume then knew just what to do in order to change that mindset. She cleared her throat and began to talk about the drone itself.

"Now then this bad boy is incredibly durable able to withstand most blasts from even rifles." As Hatsume says this, Kiralexia pulls his aid out and fires rifle bullets at Kaze. Scratches were made but nothing major. The crowd seemed impressed if a bit shocked at what just happened and Hatsume continued.

"He's capable of lifting even the heaviest of villains with high ease." Hatsume says as Kaze lifts up a dummy laced with steal with little signs of showing struggle. Again signs of impressed people were in the crowd but not much. Thus Hatsume decided to pull out the big piece.

"That is not all, for you see this baby of mine can scan the field and detect were villains are and subdue them quickly and efficiently." As Hatsume states this Kaze looks to the crowd and begins scanning. The crowd falls silent as the drone finishes scanning everyone.

"No Villain signs around. Area is cleared of any threats." Kaze says with a voice that sounded auto tuned, or like sound wave from G1 of transformers only slightly higher pitched. Kiralexia smirked at the voice, he was one who showed Sound wave off to Hatsume and he feels proud she reprogrammed the voice just for this.

"Thank you Kaze, but how about you show them your speed by flying to one district to the next, scanning for threats while you do."

"Yes, Ms. Hatsume." Kaze agreed before zooming off the stage and into a different area.

After about a minute Kaze returns and stops dead on right next to Mei. It looks around the area as if double checking and then does a nodding gesture before looking back at Hatsume.

"Districts clear of threats. All inhabitants safe from dangers."

"Great work Kaze. Now as a bonus feature, Kaze here can even show there memories and what the had seen through holograms. Show us what you saw Kaze." Hatsume order with Kaze immediately showing there past events a minute ago.

The were zooming through the air like a drone and seemed a little closer to other people then most. It went high and low, and always seemed high energy. Then one person at the corner of it's high profile vision caught Kiralexia's eye. They were dark, so dark it almost looked more like a smear from overexposed lenses. However as Kaze's vision moved, it stopped then turned to the figure again. It then rushed down to scan them. The figure simply looked at him with purple eyes and muttered a single thing.

"Interesting." the voice, it was familiar to Kiralexia.

It couldn't be though, he would be elsewhere in Europe not here. Unless, he's on an assignment? Regardless after that it seemed Kaze wanted to ask the figure something. Perhaps even the drone had it's own assumptions and wanted to know for sure.

"Excuse me but who are you?"

"Unimportant drone. Leave me before I scrap you." The figure said with a glare at the drone.

Kaze then fled from the figure and went onwards towards the stage and thus the memory ends. Strange, Kaze said no threats and yet that figure was threatening. Where they scared, or didn't see them as threatening to anyone else? Regardless Kiralexia would stare down the pathway on the left beyond and raised an eyebrow. Just who was that figure, and why would they threaten Kaze? Hatsume knowing this would confuse the scientists was quick to come up with something.

"Anyways I think that is enough from Kaze everyone. They are not the main attraction for today anyways. I think now is a good time to introduce to you my ultimate pride and joy. Proto 12!" Hatsume yelled with Kiralexia walking out on stage and acting very, robotic.

The crowd was immediate to react, with a mix of impressed faces, and applause. Kiralexia simply looked around the crowd with a subtle smirk on his face. Then he saw HIS face, Dr. Kalvo, just staring at him with a neutral look on his face. He had a small bit of sweat fall from his face one looking at Kalvo but didn't want to show to much fear to him. He stayed calm and looked over at Hatsume as she would describe him.

"This baby of mine is one of the most advanced AI's of all time, if not THE most advanced since the days of the Eternals. His strength is unmatched, his agility like that of a dancer of death, his speed clocking near to mach 5. perhaps even double all of that, yet there limits have not been seen yet." Hatsume said just as Kiralexia would demonstrate these things.

With strength he could walk off the stage and lift it without a single ounce of struggle. With agility several guns and quirks fired at him yet he would twist and weave out of each of there fire. None would hit him as he landed on his feet and demonstrated speed by launching himself off towards the port then back within roughly ten to thirty seconds. He then cracked his neck and walked back onto the stage with a smug look on his face. Hatsume smiled then continued on describing his abilities.

"Now the one thing that separates him from the Eternals is not strength nor speed, but his quirk, or quirks. For he is quite possibly the first Robot to have a quirk, multiple at that. Many aren't useful to say, but there are many more that can turn the tide of a fight in an instant." Hatsume said with Kiralexia launching fire from his hands before making an item float and spreading acid on it before making it fly from an air smack.

This was the thing that made the crowd impressed and applause were made for Hatsume. Many of them were amazed at how many quirks he used in a matter of seconds. Yet now a new question was rising, how MANY could he even use? Not to mention what were his limits to even begin with? Kiralexia could tell these questions were in there heads as did Hatsume and thus she would simply nod and allow Kiralexia to go more on his quirks. Thus he looked upwards breathed in deep and spat out an air wind that flew across the air. After that he then cracked his knuckles and formed a metallic wall right next to him and punched right threw it. He then lifted it with his fist still through it and launched it up in the air before forging a katana from his hand, which glowed a blue hew and cut the wall into pieces. After landing onto the ground and the wall pieces fell around him he made the katana disappear and stood up with quick breaths coming out of him.

The crowd cheered at this display as Kiralexia then looked to the sky and pointed upwards. The crowd grew silent and looked up confused. He then made energy zap from his finger tip and the sky around him darkened and grew colder. Before long, the sky began to rain, a shocking thing considering it's still winter but rain appears at the tail end so not to surprising, if it wasn't February. He then somehow made it so that lightning struck right at him and he launched the energy back into the sky before turning it back to normal. This surprised the whole crowd as they didn't think he could even do that, and yet as he did so a smug smile grew on his face. Hatsume then decided to mention something else about Kiralexia.

"Now as it should be noted, he is inspired off of the Eternals, this means that he has a free will. Thus if they see fit, he could break a bad heroes reputation just as fast as a villains legacy." As Hatsume said this, Kiralexia immediately knew this was a bad thing to say and a scientist would raise there hand and ask Hatsume about that.

"If this is the case, then whose side would Proto 12 even be on if they could hurt heroes as equals?"

Well Proto 12 here is on his own side. I made it so he could choose his own path, and as of now, he has shown he's on our side. He can scan the area for threats instantly and take them down without warning, and this could include anyone to his OWN life." Hatsume said and Kiralexia would find someone in the crowd.

Vanelis… how odd. Anyways Kiralexia's eyes dilate and he launches at him for more 'demonstration'. He grabs Vanelis's collar and lifts him above him before throwing him up and launching himself upwards. He punched him in the gut and kicked his head with a bicycle kick making him fly to the west of Kiralexia. He then flew over to him and punched his face before throwing him back to the crowd with such force, the ground cracked around the landing point. Kiralexia then zoomed up to Vanelis and punched Vanelis in the stomach going straight through him. Kiralexia then began heavy breathing and wrenched his fist out of his stomach and leaned down to Vanelis's ear whispering this.

"Thanks for the aid to my demonstration."

"No problem… but watch yourself tonight though." Vanelis wheezed before raising his hand and speaking to the crowd. "I'm fine, I will heal just need to… rest for now." Then he passed out and Kiralexia stood up looking at everyone as they stared at him with a bit of horror.

He just hurt a human, not just bruised but put a hole in his chest. This was more then a little concerning, it was downright horrifying. His hand was stained with blood as it dripped from his hand and he looked around to see how everyone was feeling. Needless to say, not the best, and he noticed Dr. Kalvo just looked at him with a questioning stare. Kiralexia then looked at his fist and shook it as he walked back to the stage without a single thought. Hatsume looked at him a bit worried but was able to recover and thus spoke her next thing to the crowd.

'Now that is just one way for him to prove he thinks on his own. For that man he just harmed, was simply a man we had for demonstration, he will live don't fret. Now if I am certain Proto 12 here is also long lasting in power. He does have one weakness though, if he uses to many quirks or over exerts himself, he could go catatonic and need a recharge. HOWEVER such limits are large and would only happen in desperate situations." Hatsume reassured the crowd and they seemed to buy it.

Afterall they just saw him take down someone with little to no effort and did NOT want to get him angry. Thus at the end of this came an actual staged showing of his strength, Vanelis was unplanned however this would not be. Midoriya would fly across the air and was heading straight for Kiralexia. He swung his body around and landed a kick with his left foot. A large gust of wind came from the blow and the crowd would see the true strength he had. Everyone was aware of Midoriya's ridiculous strength and thought Kiralexia would be flown away with a dent in him. Instead they saw through the wind Kiralexia holding Midoriya's foot as it was still trying to bring all of it's force onto him, with a single hand. It was shaking and did look to be struggling, slightly, but he was holding back to force rather well. Midoriya responded with swinging his right leg to Kiralexia's right and Kiralexia would raise his right arm to block the blow.

Both arms were shaking from the amount of force and pressure put of them but were slowly making a push and pull action between the legs. Kiralexia would then push Midoriya back by simply using his strength to well, push him off of him. Not so easy when all that force was still being placed on him. Midoriya would land, and launch forward with a bicycle kick to Kiralexia's head. Kiralexia would block the blows with his arms and retorted with a left hook to Midoriya. Midoriya would dodge and use his howitzer on Kiralexia. Kiralexia would slow the air force and force it to fire backwards away from him by simply pushing it.

Kiralexia would then look up at Midoriya as he fired another howitzer at him and this time Kiralexia leaned down to the ground and propelled himself upwards. He was then face to face with Midoriya as he tried to somersault kick him in the face. Midoriya backed away in time and retorted with his own round house kick to Kiralexia's face. Kiralexia leaned back and slammed his head into Midoriya's leg, causing Midoriya to spin down to the ground. He landed, albeit not as gracefully as last time, and now his leg felt sore as hell. Kiralexia smirked up in the air and he pointed his left hand out to Midoriya and fired something at Midoriya. It wasn't lighting but concentrated plasma and Midoriya with use his howitzer to make the plasma ball fly back to Kiralexia. It would hit but he seemed unphased and retorted with now several concentrated plasma balls.

Midoriya would zip by as the plasma balls hit the ground or flew back at Kiralexia, only missing this time. Midoriya would then fly up to Kiralexia and, without missing much of a beat, used his fist instead of his legs, for some reason, and tried to punch Kiralexia in the face. It did hit and Kiralexia began to spin backwards from the blow but he quickly recovered and retorted with his own upper cut to Midoriya's face. As Midoriya flew up quickly before beginning to fall, as he did so, Kiralexia would land a sucker punch to Midoriya's gut and cause him to crash down hard. He was dazed out of his mind and Kiralexia would land right in front of Midoriya and place his foot on his chest signifying triumph. Midoriya would lift his hand to use his howitzer on Kiralexia, but he would smack the wind blast away from him, and chained both arms down to the ground with magnetic clamps that went on his wrists and the ground next to the wrists.

Kiralexia then turned to the crowd and smirked at them. He raised his fists up in the air seemed very pleased with himself in this instance. The crowd on the other hand, was a bit turned off by this act, as well, Kiralexia just showed he could defeat a rising hero in the making without a sweat or even harm done to him. Seconds after there reaction Vanelis, somehow, gets back up and throws something at Kiralexia, which he simply parries away. He looks at Vanelis who's grinning like a mad man, and horns now a bit bigger then before and all he does is scoff at him, binding Midoriya up into the concrete. He turns his body fully towards Vanelis and charges before throwing a punch at Vanelis's head.

Vanelis blocks it with his arm, with cracking of bone slightly, and the two begin to try and punch the other while both just blocks or parries blows. In short, it's a happy slaps fight between man and machine, if you could even call Vanelis a man at this point. However the two do hit each other, a few times actually BUT, nothing to major. It isn't until Kiralexia just grabs Vanelis's balls, and explodes it, before spewing acid into his eyes by just spitting on it. He then decides to karate kick him into a brick wall, that he just made randomly, and Vanelis is down, with tears in his eyes. Okay kinda, as he does get back up, faster then expected, and fires arrows at Kiralexia, which he just had on him? but… there normal arrows not trick ones, they don't do shit to him, he even catches one and throws it into Vanelis's heart. He looks down then back up to Kiralexia and just gives a look.

"Uncalled for you massive ass."

"Same to you. Now stay down." Kiralexia says before doing a second karate kick into Vanelis's chest, this one seaming to actually knock him out properly.

Yet Midoriya then gets beck up and lends his own kick into the back of Kiralexia's head. Surprise Vanelis was a distraction. Kiralexia turned to face Midoriya and blocked another kick going to his head. Kiralexia retaliated with a punch into Midoriya's stomach, and then blasted him with a beam of energy that sent Midoriya flying in the air. Kiralexia then flew up and grabbed Midoriya's collar and then began flying back to the crowd binding Midoriya up as he did so. Once he landed on the stage Midoriya was completely subdued, tied up and down on the ground, humbled by the immortal machine. Kiralexia then just cracked his neck and looked to the crowd with a smirk. Steam vented off of him and he cracked his knuckles as the crowd stared in awe. Hatsume took the opportunity and began to explain what happened.

"You saw it here folks, two powerful heroes could not take this man down. Imagine what that would look like if he were facing against a Nomu? His power is beyond most and if you think about it, he is a one man army." Hatsume said with the crowd looking at one another before applauding the feat.

All but Dr. Kalvo applauded, as Kalvo pieced it all together and simply stared at Kiralexia. Kiralexia was a bit nervous but brushed it off as Hatsume bowed with Kiralexia following suit. Afterwards the show was over and as far both were aware, it went well. They seemed frightened and worried by Kiralexia's violent tendency, but other then that they seemed to be impressed. Kiralexia was just relieved that it was over as now, he could finally sleep and wait this whole visit out. Afterall, Kalvo most definitely knows who he is, and he doesn't want him to be around him while he rests. He turns over to Hatsume and congratulates her on this with a smile on his face.

"Hey I couldn't have done it without you here helping me." Hatsume retorts with Kiralexia quick in response.

"Ya well you are the one who wanted this to happen in the first place I just obligated to help out. Now you do whatever now I'm going to the hotel room to rest. I don't want Dr. Kalvo hounding my ass to do… his things to me alright." Kiralexia says with a small smirk beginning to back away from Hatsume.

Hatsume agrees and Kiralexia begins moving to the hotel that he and Ashido share alongside, Shiozaki. As he leaves, Kalvo comes up to Hatsume and smiles at her with his hand extended out to her. Hatsume shakes and smiles with a high energy expression on her face, despite the lack of sleep. Kalvo then looks around and notices the absence of Kiralexia and looks over to Hatsume a little confused.

"Tell me where is this mighty machine of yours run off to?"

"Oh I ordered him to go rest up in his transport station. He's going to the hotel room right now to charge up. Afterall when he gets back to the main land, he's going to be given a lot of jobs thanks to this and I-Island bringing it to light right?"

"I suppose so, such a shame thought. I would've LOVED to see him up close and personal again, ask him a few questions ya'know?"

"Yes well, perhaps some other time good doctor." Hatsume said with Dr. Kalvo simply giving her a look with a slight sneer.

"Hm, perhaps, well I must be going now. Some of the research I'm doing needs my deepest attention, and besides this little show, may just yet give us the edge to get the program back up. Take care young Hatsume, may life treat you well." Dr. Kalvo said slightly eerily before walking away to somewhere.

Midoriya had come up and asked what that was about, to which Hatsume said she did not know. A rather strange interaction, one even Hatsume felt a bit unnerved. No matter after that happened Hatsume thanked Midoriya for helping her and just went in for the hug which left Midoriya blushing mad. Still though his mind went to Kiralexia and Dr. Kalvo. Kiralexia never mentioned him and for good reason, only saying his name ONCE and never again to him. Midoriya even heard of a 'Program' getting back up. Just what was he doing that made THAT the talk of the town? Whatever the case, He would find it, and perhaps ease Kiralexia of his worst fears. Dr. Kalvo would NEVER again rule over his life, and that promise would start tonight.
