Chapter 38

A Watcher of the Darkness

As the fight with Kiralexia and Midoriya had raged on, and the punishment for Kiralexia yet to be revealed, something else was going on. Someone else was watching. The news Kiralexia had made spread fast across the world as explained before. Due to that far across the oceans and continents, was someone in an apartment. Someone who was watchful of the news and was miffed. They were a shroud in the darkness for no light was on, the only light was a lit, cigarette like item in the figures mouth. They breathed in and puffed out a plume of smoke that hovered across the air. The TV was still on with the message Kiralexia sent out to the world about All For One and the League. They looked to the screen and grimace before turning the TV off.

While in the apartment a Computer screen was on, showing the image of a fancy room. In the front of this room was a dark figure as well, wearing a mask and robe. Horns poked out on top of the hood. They saw as the other figure inside the shadows moved across the room towards a desk. They saw the news as well and chuckled as the figure seemed to show dissatisfaction.

"It appears he's alive once again." the figure on the computer said with a deep smooth voice low.

"That is NOT life, that is a doppelganger in a corpse." the figure in the apartment said in a smooth medium voice.

"Ah of course yet it had his voice."

"His body would have his own voice but the mind is different."

"Time makes us all different old friend. it's happened to you it's happen to me." The figure on the computer said clearly smiling under there mask.

The figure in the apartment groaned a bit before sighing. They smoked some more and puffed out another plume of smoke. They were upset and angered, this figure, this man, was not the same. They had gone into hiding to long ago a left so much behind. Now one returns and claims to be reborn, they don't buy it. They then turn slightly to face the computer eye glowing a mix of blue and tinge of purple. The faint glow of the item in there mouth showed a bushy beard scraggly and rough. A sneer appeared on there face and suddenly turned fully to face the computer taking the item in his mouth and putting it in between there left hands fingers.

"That is true but what makes you think they have changed? I have not seen them in years, and I believed them dead, yet now have returned."

"Years of isolation makes the mind grow mad."

"Heh, true on so many fronts, more then most would dare believe." The figure said with a small smirk appearing on there darkened face.

They then began to move around the room once more. They seemed, distracted by everything that had happened. They looked over to a table to see items they picked up for jobs. Guns, bullets, a dagger pinning a picture down, and a document for something. A sigh came from them as smoke began to form around there head. Long oily hair began to look like a shadow in the darkness waving around the room. There hand looked darker and out of form. The figure on the computer noticed and sighed.

"It seems our little operations will be put on hold now huh?"

"It appears that way yes, so what do you think his next move will be?"

"By my guess, to find the past and restore it."

"The Militia?"

"What else is there?" The figure on the computer asked with a tint glow in there eyes. The shadowed figured looked down before up again and towards the computer.

"That organization is practically dead, why restore it?"

"Because it was his own home, can't blame one for wanting it all back now right?"

"I suppose, but how long will it be until that even happens?"

"I cannot say for certain, but I believe it will be a few months before arriving towards you. In the meantime what do you plan on doing?" The figure asked with the person simple breathing out a puff of smoke before looking towards the screen.

"Wait, do my usual things, and try to finish the war I had started."

"Ah yes, to make the emerald shine like pearls, I have heard of this."

"It has been far to long since the war began, I must end it lest this becomes the 21st century all over again. What about you friend?"

"Heheheh, great to know that. As for me, he won't come for me right now, so I shall plan and bide my time, the US is dangerous now."

"I've heard, it seems the warlords are getting restless meaning it will only be a matter of time before the whole system breaks."

"If you call Han dynasty during the Three Kingdoms a system then yes. My armies must be trained, and my administration unbreakable. I must prove to these people that I can make the land of lies and deceptions, into truths and care for all."

"Heheheh, I await the day when that happens." the figure smirked with smoke forming around there body ever more present.

The figure on the computer seemed to smile under the mask. They looked off to the side where a noise came from. A voice called over telling him something. It wasn't easy to hear afterall it was away from the mic and thus muffled. The figure then sighed and looked back into the screen seeming more, melancholic.

"I have to leave now, matters over hear need my presence."

"Of course, running the state you own is no easy feat. Take care old friend may we speak again sometime soon." The figure in the room said with a smile forming around there mouth.

The computer then shut off and the call ended. The figure then looked out to the balcony outside there room and began to move towards it. As they moved he felt the darkness leaving there body and moving around there own room. Remnants remained on there body but would move away turning into a black smoke like substance. As they made it to the balcony they looked to the sky. The moon was full and bright out in the sky tonight. The stars shone and made the figure appear more human. There eyes were looking upwards darted around the sky watching aimlessly as they stared. The item in there hand now looking like a joint instead of a cigarette. They smoked it one last time and the smoke left there body blowing around them like a river. The looked at the joint and burnt it up flicking there finger around the remove the burning sensation.

A sigh came from them and the looked upwards again looking much sadder now. Years had past since they fled, years after the war, after death and life, everything. They felt they had been in a spiral for to long and now seemed more, active. Thoughts ran through there mind like wild dogs. A constant one running through it of Kiralexia. Last they saw, they died, the body never recovered but an explosion says a lot. With a smile that bared teeth they stood more upright and extended there arms out and looked towards the moon. They had awaited 6 years, they can wait a little longer until a reunion, even if they don't believe this is the real one.

"I await your next move, brother." The figure said in a low voice up towards the sky.

They then turned towards there room and entered. Yet as they entered there body became smoke like and darkened. Once in they were now unseen. A few months after years of thinking them dead, heh, what's more to love? Until the day arrives, they shall play the part of the man unknown. The man whose brother was killed by the devil. That would be true, that would be there strength, for after all, this is the call, of the darkness.
