The next morning. Lorelai woke up wrapped in Spencer's arms. She smiled and snuggled in close. She felt so loved. And so safe.

Spencer woke up a bit when he felt her shift moving in close.

"Good morning beautiful." He told her

She smiled. "Morning handsome." She mumbled

"How are you feeling?" He asked

"Happy." She said

"Glad to hear it." He said

"How about you?" Lorelai asked

"I'm happy too." He said.

They laid there for a while not saying much, just happy to be with each other.

Lorelai's stomach grumbled.

"Okay. Think that's the cue we need to get up. And get some food." He said

Lorelai snuggled in tighter. "I'm comfy though."

Spencer chuckled and kissed her head. "Come on. You need food."

"No." She said softly

Spencer tickled her side a bit causing her to squirm away out of his arms. He sat up. "Food first. More cuddles after." He told her

Lorelai sighed but sat up and whimper a bit.

"Ribs?" He asked

"Yeah." She said. "I'll eat and take a painkiller after."

"Okay." He said

They both threw on some clothes before going downstairs. Rachel was making waffles and bacon

Rachel looked up and saw Spencer and made a confused face. "I thought your date last night was with that Wren guy?"

"Yeah. That ended badly. Spencer and Derek came to help me and well one thing led to another. Spencer and I are. Back together." Lorelai told her

Rachel squealed with delight.

"Okay. Yes, we are happy to. Do you need help?" Lorelai asked

Rachel shook her head "It's almost ready."

Jack and Aaron came down a few minutes later.

Lorelai and Spencer set the table and they all sat down to eat breakfast.

"So, if Spencer spent the night?" Aaron asked

Lorelai smiled and nodded. "We have. Worked things out."

"That's great. I'm happy for both of you." He said

They finished eating "I should take a painkiller." Lorelai said she got up and went to do so.

"Rachel you need to get your room cleaned. Today." Aaron told his younger daughter.

"Yes, dad. I will." Rachel said

"And Jack. You need to get to reading that book for your book report" Aaron told him

Jack nodded.

Both of them got up and went off to do what they were told.

Spencer helped Aaron clear the table. Lorelai came back down.

"Took the painkiller?" Spencer asked

"Yes." She said with a small smile.

"Good. I'm going to go change." Spencer said heading upstairs leaving Aaron and Lorelai alone.

"You sure you're ready to jump back into this relationship?" Aaron asked

"Yes. I am." Lorelai said

"Okay. Good." He said.

"How's the pain?" He asked

"A seven. But the painkiller should kick in soon."

"Good." He said. "Go on. Go find Spencer." He said with a smile

Lorelai smiled, went into her room, and watched him as he put a shirt on.

"You're much hotter without the shirt." She said with a smirk

"Oh really?" He asked. Throwing his shirt on the bed before he went over to her and kissed her deeply.

"Yes." She said kissing him back.

"Well too bad. Cause I'm getting dressed." He said walking away going and grabbing his shirt and putting it on.

"Oh, that's just mean," Lorelai said with a chuckle. Lorelai got herself ready for the day as well.

"Did you have any plans for today?" Spencer asked

"Nope. You?" Lorelai asked

"Nope." He said

The two of them decided to go for a walk. Now that the weather was finally warming up.

Aaron went to check on his younger two kids. He saw through the open door of Rachel's room that she was dancing to music that was playing on her phone while cleaning. He smiled. She didn't notice him. He went to Jack's room and knocked on his door. He went in when he heard "come in" from Jack.

Aaron went in and saw his son sitting on his bed with the book he needed to read.

"How's it coming?" Aaron asked

"I hate reading," Jack said.

Aaron smiled. "Well, reading is important. You might grow to love it. But either way, you will need to read a lot in school so get used to it."

Jack sighed and nodded.

Aaron left his room to leave him to his book.

He noticed the cleaning in Rachel's room had stopped and she was sitting on her bed on her phone. A big smile on her face

"Texting?" He asked standing at the door.

Rachel turned the music down a bit and nodded with a blush.

Aaron took a breath. "Someone special?"

Rachel nodded. "Well. Someone I would like to be special. She's a friend."

"Is this the same girl from a couple of years ago?" Aaron asked

Rachel shook her head. "Um. There were some issues with the parents. She went to live with an uncle in another state. I've spoken to her a few times since. She is much happier. He lets her be who she is."

Aaron smiled. "That's great. Why didn't you tell me?"

Rachel shrugged. "Guess it never came up. I miss her but she's safe and happy. And to be honest we never really felt anything outside of friendship with each other. So, she and I are friends."

"I get that. Maybe we can figure something out for you to visit her or her to come and visit here soon." Aaron said

Rachel smiled. "I would love that."

"But who is this other girl? Someone from school?" He asked

"No. She doesn't go to the same school. She goes to a local public school." Rachel said

"How did you meet her?" Aaron asked

"She plays for the volleyball team at her school too. I've played against her before. We got to talking after one of the games." Rachel said

Aaron smiled and nodded

"But I'm not sixteen yet…. So" she said

Aaron took a breath. "Doesn't mean you can't be friends. Have her over here. When an adult is here." He told her

Rachel nodded. "You're really sticking to the sixteen thing?"

Aaron let out a small chuckle. "Yes."

"It's only a few more months. Please…" She said

Aaron shook his head. "Exactly. It's only a few more months. You can wait. I know it doesn't seem fair to you. But I have this rule to protect you. But I do want to meet her. And then when you're sixteen. If her parents are okay with it too. I won't interfere with you dating her."

"And if I decide to date someone else?" Rachel asked

"Whomever you want to spend time with I would like to meet beforehand." Aaron said

Rachel nodded. "Okay."

"Please finish your room." He said. He kissed her head before he left the room. He sighed. His little girl was growing up.
