AN: Hey guys. So, honestly I've only done a preliminary edit, so there might be somethings I've missed. I will do another read through after a few days with a fresh pair of eyes.

Anyways, thanks so much for reading my silly little stories. :)

Chapter 17 A Good Morning

Alec wrinkled his nose, groaning softly, his cheek rubbing against a soft, yet firm surface as he settled down into the warmth that sorrounded him. A few beats passed and he blinked slowly trying to open his eyes, still feeling groggy from sleep. There was a bright beam of sunlight seeping in through a gap in the curtains temporarily blinding his vision. He watched through half opened lids as dust particles danced happily along the rays as they too awoke to greet the sunrise. As everything slowly came into focus, Alec couldn't help the smile that slowly overtook his face. Memories, like a dam bursting open, began flooding conciousness as his mind began the diligent task of replaying the previous night's events.

It was now that he remembered the reason for the warmth that sorrounded him, burning like a volcanic furnace, sending heat seeping into his every pore.

Magnus.

The tips of Alec's ears instantly grew red; he couldn't help but blush. Magnus was lying on his back, his chest acting as a pillow supporting Alec's head, while his arms wrapped tightly around the shadowhunter's torso. It was as if he was trying to merge their two bodies into one, permanently stitching Alec's body to his own. Even their feet were still tangled together like plated vines as it had been when they'd fallen asleep.

Alec lifted his head, slowly, careful not to wake Magnus. He then slowly lifted Magnus' arm that was draped across his waist, trying to turn his body to face the other side of the bed. He wanted to check the time on his phone, but as soon as he managed to shift his body, Magnus shifted along with him. The two of them now layed on their sides, with Magnus playing the role of the big spoon. Alec layed perfectly still for a moment, determined not to wake mate. He had a feeling that it was still very early, and although he'd gone to bed late, not to mention the amorous activities he'd partaken in, he was still a shadowhunter, and waking up at the crack of dawn was something that had long been engraved in his bones.

Alec slowly reached a hand out to the bedside table, picking up his phone. It was a little after 6:00am. Just as he'd suspected, his internal clock which had been permanently set to wake him up for his early morning training, had faithfully sounded, never minding how tired or how comfortable he was.

Before Alec could return his phone, "Do you have to get up?" He heard Magnus whisper in a gruff voice behind him, the warlock's warm breath fanning the back of his neck, causing goosebumps to flood his body and his hairs to stand on end.

Alec shivered. "Not really. We have training, but today is more voluntary, so I was planning on skipping it. I thought we could have breakfast together." He then slowly turned around so that he and Magnus were once again facing each other. "Why? Do you have any plans?"

Magnus' lips pulled into a soft smile. He reached out a hand and brushed away a lock of hair that hung loosely in front of Alec's eyes. "Not anymore." With that, he leaned in, gently laying a kiss on Alec's forehead. Although he had an important meeting with Ragnor planned for this morning, he figured that it wouldn't be too bad if he postponed it until later on in the day. He needed this time with his mate.

Alec sighed, closing his eyes in contentment.

The two of them stayed like that for a while, simply wrapped up in each other's arms. Every now and then one would say something and the other would respond. Magnus would trace the outline of Alec's face with the tips of his fingers; over the bridge of his nose, around his hairline, and underneath his slick jawline. Alec would simply smile and snuggle in even closer, drowning himself in his mate's intoxicating scent.

"Do you want to have breakfast here?" Alec asked some time later as the two of them stood side by side before a large rectangular shaped mirror and matching white porcelain sink, brushing their teeth. "We could always go to the cafeteria...stir up some trouble." He shrugged, glancing at Magnus' reflection in the mirror. "It is pancake day."

Yes, the two were indeed enjoying this kind of domesticity. There was no feel of urgency, simply two people going about their daily activities as per usual, except that it was the first time that they were doing these little things together. It felt so...for a lack of a better word; mundane. Normal.

Magnus would have never thought that simply watching someone brushing their teeth could be so riveting; how meticulous Alec was, so careful, doing his best to not allow even a smidgen of toothpaste to escape his mouth and dirty the edges. Even going as far as to wipe the corners of hos mouth every now and then. His shadowhuter suddenly seemed so strict.

As for Alec, similar thoughts also filled his mind. Magnus had always seemed so elegant in everything that he did, however, watching Magnus brush his teeth, Alec was finding out that there was a chaotic side to his mate as well.

Magnus chuckled lightly around a mouth full of toothpaste, getting a few specks here and there. After rinsing out his mouth and wiping the corners clean, he responded, "I swear you're only pretending to be an angel, but infact, you're a little demon in disguise."

Having finished brushing his teeth as well, Alec hung up his towel and gave Magnus his best evil grin. "But I'm your little demon," he said with a bit of a mischievous glint in his eyes.

"Of course you are," Magnus agreed. "Come here." He pulled Alec into his embrace. He was still feeling a little bit riled up from lastnight. Firmly gripping a handful of hair at the back of Alec's head, he tilted the shadowhunter's head back at a perfect angle, before fiercely attacking his lips. Magnus sought no permission as his tongue broke through the seams of Alec's lips and roughly plunged into his mouth. It took a few beats for Alec to find his footing, but in the end, his own tongue was just as ruthless, warring vigorously against Magnus' like two dueling sword's men in a death match. Only when they'd both exhausted all methods of attack and ran out of breath, did either of them retreat, calling for a truce.

Magnus cupped Alec's face in his hands, gently caressing his cheeks, imprinting his current visage into his memory. "Do you want to shower first?" He asked.

In this moment, Alec did not need to consider before he responded, saying simply, "Why don't we shower together?"

Now, admittedly, inviting Magnus over lastnight had indeed been a spontaneous move on his part. However, after spending their first night together, not to mention everything that happened between them, Alec felt like he and Magnus had gotten even closer. Last night had been somewhat freeing; a sort of a, 'easing the tension', if you will.

Therefore, Alec strongly wanted things between them to continue along the same vein.

So... why would taking a shower together be a big deal?

Magnus pressed his face in the curve of Alec's neck, inhaling his scent. "Are you trying to kill me, Alexander?" He lamented. "Imagine the press releases, 'the all great and powerful Magnus Bane drops dead of a heart attack upon seeing his very handsome and sexy mate in the shower.' The ridicule. Do you not pity me?"

Alec chuckled, blushing lightly even as he tilted his head to side, giving Magnus further access. "I'm sure you'll manage," he said, voice low. "Besides, it's not like you haven't already seen it all. I'm pretty sure I was completely naked at some point lastnight. Or was that all a dream?"

"If it was, then it was indeed the most wonderful dream." Magnus slowly began scattering kisses along Alec's shoulder. "And I haven't seen everything, believe me," he said after a moment.

Alec tried his best not to roll his eyes.

"But, as for showering together, it's different," Magnus assured.

"How so?" Alec couldn't help but ask, despite not being entirely sure that he wanted to know the answer.

"Well for one, showers are my weakness. Not only will you be naked, but you'll be wet," said Magnus. He paused his actions, his expression as if deep in thought, "Naked and wet" he whispered. "A truely deadly combination." He then sighed as if enduring some great pain, adding, "I am but a man, Alexander."

"Pfft," Alec chuckled. This whole conversation was beyond ridiculous. "So does this mean you won't shower with me then?"

Magnus looked aghast. "What? When did I say that?" He quickly defended. "I'm simply letting you know that I bear no responsibility for anything that might happened during said shower."

"Alright."

"I'm afraid I won't be able to keep my hands to myself," Magnus continued seemingly serious, even as his hands were already caressing Alec's hips.

"Then don't," said Alec. At Magnus' look of surprise, he smirked. He then pulled away from Magnus, turned his back, and began removing his pajamas.

Magnus stood transfixed, he didn't move a muscle, couldn't, even if he tried. Was this his innocent little omega? First last night, and now... Surely this coy teasing of his wasn't that of someone inexperienced?

Magnus watched Alec's every move. He suddenly felt that he hadn't really taken the time appreciate his mate. He felt like he'd been so worried about loosing control, that hadn't truely appreciated Alec's beauty; afraid of looking at him for too long ,or too closely. Of course these thoughts were all ridiculous, but even lastnight now felt like a distant memory to Magnus, something that happened centuries ago. He felt like he was seeing Alec for the first time.

The shadowhunter's muscles were very well defined, like a sculpture one had spent years in carving. All those hours of training made for a truly great physique. Infact, as far as Magnus was concerned every inch of Alec's body was perfect; his pecks, the way his six pack was perfectly outlined, that V at his hips, even those two sexy little dimples at his lower back that he was only just now seeing for the first time as Alec pulled his down pants...indeed a very tantalizing view. Magnus felt is hunger growing.

He watched until Alec was completly naked, taking in every inch of Alec's body. He was pretty sure that he had drool trailing down his chin. What was Alexander trying to do to him? What was he trying to prove? Was Alec testing him?

Alec didn't say a word, he simply turned his head to glance back at Magnus before making his way into the shower. Magnus' gaze was lazer focused on those two perfectly rounded steam buns that he was yearning to take a big bite out of. It wasn't until he heard the sound of the water beating down on the shower floor that he snapped out of his daze. The warlock practically teleported into the shower. One moment he was still standing in front of the mirror, and the next, he was standing in the shower behind Alec.

"You're still dressed," said Alec, briefly glancing at Magnus over his shoulder.

Magnus didn't respond, he simply held Alec's arms, pulling him from underneath the spray. As he turned Alec around to face him, he did his best not to look down, keeping his gaze fixed on Alec's. He still held a bit of apprehension in his heart despite the already big step that they'd taken just lastnight. "What's going on with you? You know you don't have to do these things right? There's no rush." He felt like he needed more confirmation; that Alec wasn't just doing these things to please him because he felt like this was what he, Magnus wanted.

Alec pushed his wet hair back from his face, then wrapped his arms loosely around Magnus' neck. "I know," he assured, the look in his eyes giving Magnus that last bit of confirmation he needed. Alec then leaned in and gave Magnus a chaste kiss on his lips, before turning back around. He grabbed a bath sponge, and handed it to Magnus. "Now, will you please help me wash my back."

Magnus eyed the sponge like it was some great abomination, a pest in need of immediate termination. He threw the bath sponge back into the little basket attached to the shower and turned Alec back around. "You little..." Magnus didn't finish his statement. He pulled Alec flush against himself, then proceeded to kiss the shadowhunter breathless.

"You think..." He whispered as moved those hot lips down Alec's neck, biting at his pulse point. "...you can just tease me like this."

Alec didn't manage a retort.

Soon the two became a wet tangle of limbs and heavy breathes. Magnus pushed Alec up against the wall, the tiles still cold despite the rising steam slowly filling the bathroom. His kisses were almost painful. Alec felt a stinging sensation in his bottom lip followed by the bitter flavor of blood splashing against his tongue. And when he suddenly felt Magnus' hand grip his member, with an almost desperate gasp, he pulled away from Magnus' lips, tilting his head back against the cold tiles as he fought to catch his breath.

"Mag...Magnus..." His voice broken.

Magnus licked and nibbled at Alec's collar bone. "You're driving me crazy, Alexander," came his husky voice; and even as he left little red mark's along Alec's chest, not for one moment did his hand let up. He gripped Alec's length tightly, the hot water cascading over their bodies acting as a lubricant, making his strokes that much more smooth.

Magnus was like a man possessed; wild and erratic. His other hand roamed the rest of Alec's body, smoothly gliding over it's hills and valleys. Nimble fingers pulled at Alec's nipples and massaged the soft yet firm skin at his waist, traveling down and around the slight curve of his hip, coming to rest on the fleshy meat of his firm and perfectly round backside. As Magnus tightly gripped and massaged Alec's butt cheeks, his fingers coming within striking distance of that place he longed to enter, his mouth once again found Alec's. He sucked Alec's already swollen and bleeding bottom lip into his mouth, giving way for a messy and salacious kiss.

Alec felt all breath left him, as if all life was being sucked out of his body. He felt his knees tremble, and shockwaves surge though his system as his mind fought to gain back some kind of control. When Magnus finally ended the kiss, the two of them were left panting. Alec could just barely manage two words, whispering throatily against Magnus' lips that still refused to completely part from his own,

"Your...pants."

Magnus knew that those, now very uncomfortable, pants were the only thing currently keeping him in check. If lastnight's little endeaver had been risky on his part, then this morning's was just down right stupid. At this point Magnus knew that if he dared to remove those pants, there was no way he would not attempt to take Alec right then and there.

And so to preserve the tiny bit of self control he had remaining, and to prevent both of them from doing something they might later regret, Magnus ignored Alec's words, and simply kissed him again. His hand that held Alec's member tightly in it's grip, began to move with real purpose now, his thumb intermittently gliding over the sensitive tip. His lips traveled a hot and steamy route down Alec's neck, before making a u-turn to the sensitive shell of his ear, and just like that, Alec's mind went blank.

Alec knew that he should be doing something, he wanted to give Magnus pleasure as well. He did not want to be a selfish lover, however, currently his body simply refused to listen to him. He was like a fish out of water struggling to breathe, or likewise a drowning man reaching for a life raft to keep himself afloat.

Magnus noticed the change in Alec's demeaner, the sheer desperation for release carved deep into his features. In an instant, Magnus was on his knees. His hands gripped Alec's thighs to keep the omega from falling, and in the next breath, his mouth was enveloping Alec's pulsing member.

The sudden change was a shock to Alec's system. His eyes that were previously close, shot opened, before tightly closing once again. It was a different kind of heat from the one that a hot shower provided, a different kind of wetness that engulfed him. This kind of fire didn't just penetrate the pores of his skin, but it bored it's way into the depths of his soul. And with only a few smooth back and forth's, and a few twist and flicks of his tongue, Magnus had Alec coming completely undone.

Alec's body went taut, his back arching of the wall as a pleasurable wave of electric current surged though him. It was like a burst of energy, hot and numbing, beginning at that place between his legs and spreading throughout his entire body. Then as the flow of energy reversed, his body began to convulse, writhing in agonized pleasure.

Even as the heat of Alec's essence burned his tongue, triggering all of his senses, Magnus did not stop his movements. He sucked little Alec until the shadowhunter's body grew weak and he cried out in pleasure-pain from the over stimulation, only then did Magnus stop, rising to his feet. The two kissed sloppily as Magnus pulled Alec's still trembling body into his own.

Some minutes later as Magnus poured douche gel in his hands, opting to ignore that abominable bath sponge, and began slowly rubbing circles on Alec's back, he found that there were three little words that were fighting their way out from his lips. However, he chose to swallow them back down. Such words carried grandeur, and as far as he was concerned, when he finally confessed his deepest feelings to Alec, the moment should be as such.

Meanwhile, Alec, who was still silently glued to Magnus, as if the blood circulating throughout his body had finally completed it's journey from his groin back up to his brain, suddenly blurted, "You're still hard." Completely ruining the moment.

Magnus couldn't help but laugh. "Don't worry about it. Let me help you shower first, then I'll take care of it."

Alec frowned, lifting his head off Magnus' shoulder to face the warlock properly. His eyes were still dazed and his cheeks flushed. "Why won't you let me?" He asked, feeling a bit insecure. Did Magnus not like what he'd done lastnight? Was he only pretending then?

"The truth?" Asked Magnus. Alec nodded. "I'm afraid you'll only make things worse."

Alec glowered, confused. What the hell was Magnus talking about? How could he possibly make his hard-on worse?

"I'm afraid that you're touch will only make me crave you the more," Magnus confessed.

Alec did not know how to respond to this, so instead he stupidly asked, "Isn't it painful?" He didn't dare to look down, scrunching up his face as if he himself could feel the pain.

"I've gotten used to it," said Magnus. "I have to. Don't you know I'm always hard whenever I'm around you." The way Magnus said this with all seriousness had Alec looking at him in complete shock and disbelief. How could Magnus just say these things without even a hint of shame? The two stared silently at each for a while before Magnus' mask of seriousness cracked, and he erupted in a fit of laughter.

Alec scoffed and pushed at his chest. He turned away from Magnus in embarrassment. However, what he didn't know was that Magnus was being completely serious.

"That's not funny," said Alec as he reached for his bath sponge and stepped back underneath the spray, choosing to ignore Magnus.

"Alright, alright. I'm sorry my love." Magnus quickly apologised. He then snatched the sponge away from Alec and once again began soaping the omega's back.

It was well over an hour before the two of them finally got out of the shower.

And despite Magnus' insistence, that he was alright and only wanted to take care of his mate, Alec did infact, return the favor.

"Alexander, I'm half demon, of course I don't pay for everything I conjure." Magnus was explaining this to Alec as if it was the most logical thing in the world. The alpha and his omega were sitting across from each other enjoying the delicious breakfast spread that he'd conjured. "Somethings are only borrowed and sent back once I'm done using them."

"And the rest?" Alec asked. Magnus simply shrugged. "That's called stealing, Magnus."

"I never said it wasn't," Magnus defended. The warlock then grumbled under his breath that one should consider themselves very lucky to have him 'borrow' anything from them.

"What was that?" Alec asked in a scolding tone.

"Nothing." Magnus pouted, picking up a croissant. "Nothing at all."

Alec honestly didn't even know why he was making such a fuss about this. He supposed it was just that everytime Magnus made something appear, he couldn't help but think about where it was disappearing from. There was probably some poor baker somewhere right now thinking themself crazy.

Sighing, Alec concluded. "Just don't 'borrow' from those in need, alright?"

Magnus nodded. "I never do. I'm not that bad you know." Alec gave him a doubtful look, at which Magnus smiled innocently.

Deciding to change the topic of conversation, Alec suddenly asked, his eyes lighting up with curiosity, "Lastnight when we were talking about your trip, you said something about politics? I know you don't want to tell me too much about Edom, but you can tell me what your trip was all about, right? I remember you seemed a bit anxious before you left."

Magnus took a few sips of his coffee; his way of stalling. This was exactly what he was trying to avoid. He thought he'd already escaped this conversation lastnight. After a moment, he replied. "There isn't really much to tell. It's all very boring really."

Alec frowned. "Come on Magnus. I'm not stupid. You were acting really weird before you left, even more over protective than usual, if that's even possible. I got the impression that there was some kind of emergency. I just didn't want to pressure you too much about it lastnight since you'd just gotten back." Among other things, Alec thought, but didn't say out loud. "Does it have anything to do with the sudden decrease in demon activity? As you know we've been, well not me specifically, but shadowhunters, have been pretty busy for a while now, only for things to suddenly cool down."

Magnus didn't miss the hint of sadness in Alec's eyes as he said this. However, the warlock couldn't help but be happy that Alec wasn't also out there hunting. If it was selfish to want your mate to be safe, then he was happy to be the most selfish person alive...or dead.

Doing his best to appear nonchalant, "Sort of," Magnus replied. "But we're still looking into it."

Alec didn't look too convinced. "Should I be worried?" He couldn't help but ask.

"No. Of course not," Magnus assured. "Don't worry, once I gather enough information, I'll let you know."

Alec nodded, seeing as he wasn't going to get much more out of Magnus. Still, he couldn't help feeling a little bit unsettled. Magnus was being way too secretive for his comfort, and that only peaked his curiosity the more.

It was almost 11:00am by the time Magnus left the Institute. After heading home and making a few phone calls, he now stood in front of Taki's, heavily scrutinizing the run down building. He'd called Ragnor to rescheduled a lunch meeting, and this was the place the warlock had suggested. Magnus had never personally been here before, but apparently the place was pretty nice and catered especially to downworlders. Magnus figured that since he'd stood Ragnor up this morning, he'd indulge his friend a little.

Ragnor was already waiting for him when he arrived. As Magnus entered the old diner, the once bussling place, suddenly came to a halt. Not at all suprised by this, Magnus payed no attention to the sneaky onlookers, and simply scanned the resturant until he saw who he was looking for.

A grumpy looking Ragnor sat in a booth in one secluded corner of the large diner, glaring at him.

"You're late," said Ragnor as soon as he got the table.

"Am I? Or are you just early?" Magnus asked, grinning cheekily as he slide into his own seat opposite Ragnor. Ragnor simply rolled his eyes as he leaned back, folding his arms against his chest.

Neither of them paid any attention to the slowly dwindling patrons in the diner. A lot of downworlders feared him, Magnus knew this very well. Even if he was supposed to be their High Warlock, who was meant to help them, he was still the son of the most dangerous prince of hell, as well as the most powerful warlock in the world. Getting on his bad side was still a big no no, and so if it was at all possible, it was considered in one's best interest to simply avoid him.

Magnus picked up his menu and started looking it over, making faces as he hummed to himself.

Ragnor said nothing. He simply watched Magnus, his expression showing clear annoyance as he waited and waited for the High Warlock of Brooklyn to say something. After all, he was the one who'd called for this meeting.

After about five whole minutes, Magnus finally placed the menu back down. With an audible sigh, "What's good here?" He asked, meeting Ragnor's eyes expectantly.

If Ragnor's face could, it would have probably turned red from anger. "Will you tell me why you called me here and stop with the crap. What did you find out?"

"Calm down," said Magnus, feigning nonchalance. "The world's not going to end. At least not today anyways...and not if I have anything to say about it." He then raised his hand to call a waitress over. "It's as I told you before I traveled."

Just then a pretty waitress came over to take their orders. "Good day and welcome to Taki's. I'm Mia, and I will be you're waitress today. May I take your order?"

Magnus recognized the waitress as Luke's beta. He could tell that she was a very powerful werewolf despite her small frame and seemingly delicate demeanor. She had a very strong aura, that now that he thought about it, he wondered why he hadn't really taken notice of it before. It was almost like that of an alpha wolf. That thought gave Magnus pause, he couldn't help but wonder; there were stories of beta wolves who had later evolved, becoming alphas themselves. Perhaps...

Magnus shook his head. That wasn't important right now. After Mia left with their orders, he continued, explaining to Ragnor, "If you remember, she'd been in Edom when I left?" Ragnor nodded. "Do you also remember what I told you after father's little surprise visit?" Once again Ragnor nodded. "Well, now she's gone missing. We've lost track of her," said Magnus. "It would also seem that she had something to do with the increase in demon activity over the last few years. Perhaps a way to distract the shadowhunters, keep them busy...I'm not entirely sure. This also means that the sudden calm may have something to do with her as well."

Ragnor frowned. Magnus had told him that Lilith had also left Edom not too long after him; how Asmodeus had been tracking her movements and had gathered information about a possible alliance. He'd also been made aware of the demons who had gone missing. There had been the increase in demon activity, and now, not only was Lilith missing, but her dissapearance just so happens to coincide with a decrease in demon activity.

After a long while, finally Ragnor said, "I still don't understand why your father kept her around all of these years?"

"It's not like he could've simply killed her," Magnus defended. "You already know as the mother of all demons, she, as well as all of the seven princes cannot be killed. Plus she'd been drained of all her powers. She posed no threat."

"There was still the energy scattering spell. If you're father hadn't been so damn sentimental..." Ragnor started, but Magnus quickly cut him off, his gaze sharp.

"Don't even go there," Magnus snapped. "Her's and my father's brief...whatever, had nothing to do with it and you know it. Scattering her energy isn't his decision alone to make."

"All I'm saying is that this could have been prevented." Ragnor released a sigh of frustration. "And how can you be so calm?" He exclaimed.

The truth was, Magnus felt anything but calm. "How could we have possibly foreseen her pulling those two, and Edom only knows who else, to her side. What? Suddenly they're all friendly with each other now, when previously you couldn't get two of them in the same demension without all hell breaking loose." Magnus sighed, roughly running his fingers through his hair, not even bothering to laugh at his own pun. The more he spoke, the more agitated he was becoming. Even reminiscing about lastnight's and this morning's little delight with Alec, could do nothing to satiate his mood. If anything, it only made him feel worse; worse now that he was back out in the real world, facing reality and not in the happy little bubble that he'd created for Alec and himself. Why now? Why when he'd finally found his happiness did there have to be a war looming on the horizon? And how the hell was he going to keep Alec out of it?

As if seeing his thoughts, Ragnor suddenly asked, "How is your mate taking all of this by the way?"

Magnus looked up at Ragnor from beneath his lashes. "I haven't told him yet."

"Magnus!" Ragnor hissed, scolding, "He needs to know what's going on so that he can be prepared."

Magnus narrowed his eyes. "And the rest of the shadowhunters?"

They both knew that it would be very premature to involve the shadowhunters, if at all. This was downworlder business, and shadowhunters have been known in the past, and even now, to not differentiate between downworlders and demons whenever things come to a head.

Shadowhunters will always put the humans first, even above themselves. And although Magnus was half human himself, he still had his demonic side to worry about. What about the downworlders, even those demons who have nothing to do with any of this and are simply just trying to exist? What about his father? Edom? There was just too much at stake to act rashly.

"If I tell him, I cannot ask him not to tell his family," Magnus concluded.

After a moment Ragnor leaned forward with his hands on the table, his expression even more serious now. "What about Azazel and Abaddon?" He whispered. "Have your father made any contact with them?"

Magnus tried his best not to roll his eyes. "Sure, he sent them each a text message to meet up for a family get together. What part of princes of hell coming face to face equals all hell breaking loose do you not understand?"

Ragnor did not appreciate Magnus' sarcasm. Scoffing, "Then what do we do next?" He asked, his voice filled with dread. He was getting way too old for this shit.

Magnus sighed. "That's why you're here. I've already sent messages to the rest of the downworld council members... we'll be meeting tonight. But there's something I need you to do for me. I need you to..."

Just then Mia came back with their meals and the two once again fell silent.

Meanwhile back at the Institute...

"Spill. Now," Izzy demanded. "What have you been up to all morning? I have been this close banging down your door and..."

Alec had just entered the training room, only to find that his little band of misfits were still going at it. Jace was at one corner sparring with Simon, while Izzy had been at another sparring with Clary. Alec had barely entered the room, when Izzy saw him.

As soon as Izzy's eyes landed on her brother, all thoughts of training went out the window. She'd recieved a very cyrptic phone call from Alec that morning, begging her to cover for him; that if anyone asked of his where abouts, she should simply tell them that he was busy studying in his room and did not want to be disturbed. He'd even stressed that under no circumstances should anyone come to his room to bother him.

Needless to say that Izzy had been bursting with curiousity all morning. She'd been more than half tempted to go to Alec's room and check on him herself. Clary had even managed to get in at least a dozen hits during training because of how distracted she'd been.

Jace and Simon also stopped fighting and made their way over, both jutting their chins at Alec in greeting.

"Will you keep your voice down," Alec was saying as Izzy kept rambling on. His eyes flickered around the room at the other shadowhunters training to see if they were watching them. Chillingly enough, his gaze met someone else's.

Raj.

Alec frowned. When did he come back? He couldn't help but wonder. The overly eager beta quickly looked away as soon as his gaze locked with Alec's, turning back to his training partner; a newly transferred beta named Underhill.

Alec shook his head, moving his focus back to his nosey friends. He will remember to ask about Raj later. "Iz..." he said calmly, trying his best placate his sister. "I promise I'll explain everything to you later. If you guys are done with training, why don't you go freshen up so we can have lunch together?"

They all agreed, quickly leaving the training room.

The plot thickens. This story is turning into a suspense, but I swear it's going somewhere. Shits about to go down, lol. Don't worry, all those actors behind the scenes, will take center stage shortly.
