Note: I'm sorry for only updating like only once a month now. Life has been starting to change for me lately, so with a lot going on/about to happen, I sometimes forget to write a new chapter. However, I promise that after this one I will try to update more often.
Professor Phantazmo looked up as Covington appeared in front of him now.
"What is it?" he asked.
"Professor, I have found that there are friends of Asamad Van Ghoul at this party," the blue-eyed ghost informed him.
"Really?" he smiled evilly.
"Yes, the teens of the group that he has befriended over the past few months, actually."
The professor raised an eyebrow.
"Well, surely he, and the others in their group, won't be able to find that they are here with me right now, for I have become more powerful enough over the years to make it harder for them to track me down."
Covington nodded in understanding.
"I view them to be a threat ever since they defeated me and my circus the last time I saw them, so I will not attempt to make direct contact with them," Phantazmo continued. "Especially that boy, Flim Flam, for he used my own powerful whip against me and trapped me in the chest after my calliope was destroyed. Tell me, do those three have the Chest Of Demons with them as of right now?"
"I saw no sign of the chest being in their possession at all," he admitted.
The professor sat back in his chair and nodded in silence for a moment.
"If they do not have the chest with them, they are more vulnerable now than what I expected. This still does not mean that they do not have that crystal ball with them that is used to contact Vincent Van Ghoul and the others, however."
"I suppose it does not," the ghost agreed.
"Fortunately, the spell that I have planned will be able to take care of that problem for us. Once the spell is cast, they will have no desire to use the crystal for contacting anyone," Phantazmo explained.
"And what more will come from the spell once it has been cast?" Covington wondered.
The demon looked straight into his eyes.
"They will become the worst versions of themselves. Every flaw and insecurities that they have, no matter how little, will worsen, and they will become those flaws."
He then stood up.
"Anything else?" he asked.
"I desire to assist you in casting the spell tonight," Covington told him.
The professor nodded slightly in response.
"I was expecting to cast the spell on my own, however, since you have been assisting me with the party, you may assist me with this as well. It will successfully be casted as soon as midnight arrives."
"Very well then," the ghost said. He turned around to walk out before Phantazmo stopped him.
"Just closely watch those mortals for me until it is only a few moments away from midnight, for there is still a possibility that they could be a threat to my plan even if they do not have the Chest Of Demons with them," he suggested.
"Of course," Covington nodded, and then finally left the professor by himself.
Daphne's fever had, thankfully, gone down with the help of the medicine and everything else Vincent had provided her with, and she had finally fallen asleep now.
Vincent turned off the bedroom lights as soon as he noticed her sleeping.
"Good night, Daphne," he whispered, before slowly closing the door.
He then made his way down the corridor of the castle before entering the study room, where he found Asamad still looking through the crystal ball.
"Have you found anything yet?" Vincent asked.
"No," the red ghost sighed in frustration. "Still no sign of him. Vincent, I think either something's wrong with the crystal or Professor Phantazmo really is interfering with the crystal like you feared."
The warlock stood there in silence for a moment, until a thought had crossed his mind.
"Wait, hand me that flyer you found again," he said.
Asamad handed him the paper and he stared at it for a second.
"Can you see Flim Flam, Cheryl, and Jayden's location at all on there?"
Asamad looked through the crystal again before responding.
"No, I cannot see any trace of them at all."
"I gave them permission to go to that party in Los Angeles tonight, and Phantazmo's flyer says that he's hosting another circus this November, and it's November right now," Vincent pointed out. "Asamad, we haven't found anything on him hosting another circus either, which leads me to believe that it's not a circus, it's…"
"The party that Flim Flam, Jayden, and Cheryl are attending!" Asamad realized. "He somehow hid his, and now their location, from us, and he definitely made that flyer so that we would be ignorant of what he has been planning for these past few months!"
"We must go quickly to save them!"
"Wait, I thought that you had to keep taking care of Daphne, right?"
"Yes, her fever went down a few moments ago and she just fell asleep, however, she's still not fully back to normal yet," Vincent told him. "Alright, you must teleport to Los Angeles and find them, and I will be staying here."
Asamad nodded, and picked up the crystal ball, ready to teleport out, but was interrupted when Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby walked in.
"What's going on?" Velma questioned.
"What happened?" Shaggy asked.
"The others are in serious danger!" Asamad exclaimed. "They unknowingly went to Professor Phantazmo's party tonight. I must leave now to find and get them back here safely."
"Ph- Phantazmo?" Shaggy gulped.
"Roh no…" Scooby trembled.
"Well then, we're going to come with you to save them! We have the Chest Of Demons on us," Velma told him.
"Well, I cannot open it and capture Phantazmo by myself since I am a ghost," he remembered, as the first rule was always that the chest can only be opened by those who are alive. "Fine. You will come with me, however, we must be careful, for we still do not know what else he has planned exactly."
The three of them nodded before he teleported out quickly, bringing the three of them with him, and Vincent sighed for a moment before leaving the room.
