Back at the castle, Daphne had suddenly awakened now, and checked her phone to see that it was only 30 minutes until the clock would strike midnight.
She sat up in her bed as Vincent opened the door to her room.
"Hey Vincent," she whispered. "I just woke up."
He turned on the lights and went to sit on the edge of the bed.
"Did you sleep well?" he asked.
"Yeah, I did," Daphne answered.
"Good," he smiled. "How are you feeling now?"
"A little better than before actually," she smiled back. "I don't think I feel weak anymore, now I'm only just a little tired."
"So we took care of the weakness, and yet, your voice is still somewhat raspy…" he pointed out.
Her smile slowly started to fade.
"Yep," she sighed.
"Do not worry too much about it, however. I absolutely can get some more medicine to help with that," he assured her.
"Thanks," Daphne replied.
Vincent then sighed as he started to conjure up more of the medicine for her.
"You know, while you were sleeping, Asamad and I found that the party that Flim Flam, Cheryl, and Jayden went to tonight is being hosted by Professor Phantazmo."
"WHAT!?" she exclaimed.
"Please try not to yell. Your voice, remember?" he reminded her.
"Oh right, sorry," she said, lowering her voice.
"It's fine. Anyways, Asamad and the others teleported to Los Angeles to save them and capture Phantazmo," he continued. "So for right now, it is only just the both of us here."
"Well, as much as I'm glad the others are going to save the rest of our team and capture the next ghost…" she began.
"You wish you could join them in doing so," Vincent finished.
"Yep," she nodded. "But I'm glad it'll only just be this once that I'm missing out."
Vincent nodded in agreement.
He then successfully conjured up the medicine bowl and smiled as he placed it on top of her nightstand.
"There. This will help your voice get back to how it normally is."
She reached for the bowl, but before she could grab it, she felt something, and Vincent had noticed it as soon as he saw her wince for a moment.
"Daphne, is something wrong? What is happening?" he asked in concern.
"I'm getting body aches now," she responded.
"How bad is it?"
"It's bad," Daphne told him.
"Oh dear…" he sighed, covering his face with his hand. "Alright, just stay here, I will get warm towels and more water to help with the aches, and if you really need it, I will make the effort to heal your pain with my magic."
She nodded before he left the room, and winced again as she felt more of the aches before she just laid her head down on her pillow.
The crowd was chasing after all three of them. Eventually, more of the teens there had fallen under the spell as midnight grew closer, and now
Flim Flam, Cheryl, and Jayden had found themselves running as fast as they could through the hallways of the building.
"We can't keep running for much longer, they're gaining on us!" Flim Flam exclaimed.
"Well, we don't have much of a choice right now other than to run. There's no place for us to hide at all," Jayden replied, starting to get out of breath.
A door from underneath one of the staircases in the hall had caught Cheryl's eye immediately after he said that.
"I found somewhere we can hide," she told them, pointing to it. "Come on!"
The two boys followed her and entered a small dark room before Cheryl quickly locked the door.
"Okay, which one of us has the crystal on them because we need to call Vincent right now to teleport us home," Jayden said, using his phone flashlight to light up the room.
"I do," Flim Flam told him. "But, I don't know if we should call Vincent…"
"Um, you're joking, right, Flim Flam?" Cheryl asked, raising an eyebrow.
She stared at him for a moment.
"Please tell me you're not serious."
"I am serious," he admitted. "Vincent's going to be furious with us if he finds out what we've gotten ourselves into tonight."
"Maybe, but I'd much rather return home safely and have him be furious with us than be attacked by everyone outside this room that just got bewitched," she decided.
"Yeah, and if we explain everything that happened, I'm sure he'll understand that this isn't our fault and he'll be glad that we're safe," Jayden agreed.
"No, I don't feel comfortable telling Vincent or the others what happened and I don't think we should call him right now," Flim Flam stated.
"Why do you want to sweep this under the rug so badly?" Cheryl questioned.
"Why did you lie to Vincent in the first place?" Jayden commented.
She then slowly turned around and looked at him in confusion.
"What are you talking about? No, I didn't," she laughed nervously.
"Before we left the castle, you told Vincent that there was going to be adult supervision at the party, and later on, when some kids from our school tried to make conversation with me, they mentioned to me at some point that only teens were allowed here, meaning that there was never any adult supervision planned to be here in the first place," he responded.
"You lied to him? And to us?" Flim Flam asked her.
"Oh please, you're the one that's desperate to hide everything that just happened from our friends!" Cheryl shot back.
"And you're the one that's trying to change the subject now because you know you just got called out!"
Jayden stood in between them, completely silent.
"So, who's going to be the one to call Vincent?" he finally asked after a moment.
"No one!" Flim Flam exclaimed. "We're not calling him."
"How are we supposed to get out of here then?"
"I don't know, how about lying our way through it like this girl lied to us!?" he responded, pointing at Cheryl.
"Oh really? Well, you know what-" Cheryl began, but was interrupted when they heard a noise.
The three of them stood there in silence for a second, slightly confused.
"What was that?" Flim Flam trembled.
They jumped and gasped as they heard the noise again, realizing now that it was the others banging on the door outside.
