Chapter 13: The Half-Problem.
Over the further up ahead, the newly created sand-dune-like isthmus connected right towards another icy continent and all around of the transformed world, many Wisps of different kinds either tried to avoid getting captured by the seaweed and icy monsters who roared, chasing after the types of Twirl, Boost, and Drill kinds who were fleeing for their lives in a panic, or those like a few Spikes and Rocket Wisps who hovered in front of the Snow-Flake monsters who came to a stop, glaring darkly at the braver aliens which they returned.
"(Back off, you icy-creeps! Take this!)" One of the three Spike Wisps yelled, before it, along with the other two used their power to bash away one of the five monsters who roared and forced back, flinging around as it then crashed into the water close by, melting in the water's warmer temperature.
Another one though snarled before letting out a breath of an icy wind to try and capture the five Wisps who, flinching in horror with their eyes bulging out, quickly dodged in different directions while also managing to avoid three Seaweed monsters. Unfortunately for the sea-plant creatures as they attempted to capture the Wisps with ropes of their bodies and cages made out of coral, sweat dropped in dumbfounded horror right before they were frozen solid in ice without any moment or time to make a getaway themselves.
None the less, the Snow-Flake Monsters snarled before charging and bashed their rivals' frozen forms, shattering them as the Seaweed Monsters vanished into particles of dust and light.
"(Well that...works, I guess.)" One of the Rocket Wisps remarked awkwardly with a shrug and a sweat drop, sharing a surprised glance with the other aliens who quirked eyebrows over this.
"(Oh, whatever. Let's just take care of these guys before they hurt anymore of our friends!)" The second Spike Wisps flailed it's arms impatiently.
"(He's right. This is all Spirit's fault we're stuck dealing with weird monsters and each planet we visited transformed into something ridiculous like, what Mobians and humans call, ice and beaches, merging together...)" The second Rocket Wisp nodded in agreement, before muttering cluelessly. "(Whatever that means.)"
"(Brace yourselves, guys! More Icy-Creeps coming this way!)" The first Spike Wisp alerted, pointing at the remaining four monsters who turned their attention to the aliens and hovered over to attack and capture, while the five Wisps readied themselves with great courage and determination, being the older Wisps that Sonic had rescued from Dr. Eggman's clutches and since the hedgehog's bravery was contagious, they followed their hearts into doing the right thing as well.
The two Rocket Wisps powered themselves up and zoomed towards the ice monsters, amazingly dodging out of the way when the icy monsters blew their freezing wind breath once more before they were hit and bashed hard further away, crashing into the ground and shattering which caused them to also disappear.
"(Yeah! We're good at this!)" One of the Rocket Wisps cheered on. "(Fighting isn't our thing, but I wish Sonic was here to see us in action!)"
"(Me too!)" The second Rocket Wisp agreed as all five of the cute but brave aliens shared a hive-five before turning their attention to the two remaining monsters who snarled angrily, ready for an attack to capture them and bring them to their master.
However, high-pitched squeals of fear alerted both the Wisps and the Snow-Flake Monsters who, pausing in their counterattacks, turned around before they all flinched in horror to see four Hazel-Purple Wisps, two Red-Spiky Wisps and three Breeze Wisps flying with terrified expressions. Chasing after them was, unbeknownst to them, was the baby Yeti who was playfully racing in a game of tag, letting out roars which frightened the hero Wisps and the monsters who panicked.
"(Fly away! That white monster is going to eat us!)" The nine frightened Wisps screamed, passing by the bewildered braver Wisps who sweat dropped before sharing a glance and...decided to ultimately leave the Yeti to deal with the Snow-Flake Monsters who attempted to use their icy-breath to freeze this new creature that was not among their newly developed kind.
"(...Uh, I think the order of retreat is...in place?)" The third Spike Wisp suggested, holding a tentacle to indicate that it was clear.
"(Yeah...Let's get outta here!)" The other four Wisps chorused, before they all fled for their lives as well.
To make things more complicated, the baby Yeti blinked, before giggling away and clapping it's hands as it enjoyed the icy cold breeze. The four Flake Monsters sweat dropped bewildered, all muttering in a frightened, 'Uh-oh' right before it came over and grabbed hold of the creatures who roared in panic, squeezing them tightly as though they were toys and teddy bears. Sadly due to it's strength already growing, the child accidentally shattered the monsters who vanished into dust, making it blink in confusion before it realized that it destroyed them.
"Awwww..." The Baby Yeti moaned in disappointment and sadness.
But before it could cry, the baby Yeti then heard an unusual sound which caught it's attention and turned to see a bunch of Wisps flying in and out of a tunnel close to the Ice Palace. Curiosity once again getting it's attention and driving away it's disappointment, the child's eyes glittered that it then decided to see for itself on another adventure. Unaware that the Wisps it had unintentionally scared off would be alerting heroes that came to this world of it's presence.
Meanwhile, back inside the giant whale's body...
Deep inside the second non-food stomach, which had been slowly transformed into some kind of fortress-like chamber, the giant seaweed monster stood chuckling darkly, spreading out clam-shells with parts of it's body inside, some opening and closing experimentally, by the power of the Lunania Comet Shard inside it's chest glowing in a slightly dark red hue.
There were even about at least eighteen normal-sized sea monsters who were also covering certain parts of the walls with more sea plant and coral as though to make it more of a fish tank or mini-aquarium within the whale, waiting for their leader's command on what to do next in order to take control of the giant whale and force it to swallow up their enemies and keep them trapped within the creature's food-storage for all eternity.
Unaware that hiding around the corner, were Sonic and his friends who had finally made it and hidden themselves, keeping silent as much as possible without getting caught. From the looks of the monsters' chattering and how the second stomach, which looked more like a giant cave's chamber underground.
"He's sure making this into a stomach aquarium, isn't he?" Sonic remarked softly, sweat dropping as he and his friends were unable to believe how the, clearly, once plain second stomach chamber which reminded him of the Bamboo Jungle Dragon when he saved Red, was being transformed into looking like an underwater cave.
"The sea monster's somehow controlling the Lunania Comet Shard's power, using it to transform the whale's stomach into some kind of aquatic terrarium. Unlike the one we already have from Sweet Mountain, this piece of the comet is making the sea monster giant more intelligent than the Pizza Monster." Tails explained in a whisper, his, Amy, the Wisps' and especially Sonic's perturbation increasing.
"That guy's really persistent, isn't he?" Sonic whispered, narrowing his eyes as he tried to maintain his rage over the monsters using the shards for evil use. Even for hurting the gentle giant sea animal.
"(Not to make this sound even worse,)" Speed began nervously, getting his friends' attentions as he explained what he and the other little aliens were hearing, the Breeze and Hover Wisps shivering silently in fear. "(But the giant sea monster is trying to take control of our big guy to try and force anybody who try to stop them, to be trapped inside his other stomach forever by eating them up. More than we already are, and making this into his dormain to make it more...Fancier or something.)"
Trying to refrain themselves from gasping aloud in horror, the heroes shared dismayed glances before attempting to come up with a way to defeat the evil creatures before it was too late and their giant friend could be brain-washed into becoming their enemy...and their living prison. Except they were already trapped and their only hope of escaping was either Speed to use his power to get them out, or defeat the monsters and save the giant whale.
"Okay, now this is personal. We're gonna have to get rid of the army first before we go after the big nasty ugly sea-plant." Sonic hissed. Anybody who messes with his friends are in for a painful beating for hurting them, killing them, or controlling them.
This was becoming far too much like when Dr. Eggman used a small prototype of the Wisps' Hyper-Go-Ons to control Tails that was meant for the hero of Mobius, attempting and failing to use the giant cannon to control everybody on Mobius, and when Jeromony used the evil Scepter of Illusions in Tesrod Village to brain-wash half of the town's population by growing into a giant.
"(I can freeze them into ice-cubes.)" The Breeze Wisp suggested, holding a tentacle up, but almost immediately the rest of the group disapproved this plan.
"No, that'll only cause the big guy have a freezing stomach-bite, and that's gotta be pretty painful." The blue hedgehog denied, mentally shuddering as he remembered one time as a three year old little hoglet that he ate too much ice cream in one sitting, having had a bad case of cold shivers and ended up having a stomach ache for a whole week.
That was a lesson he learned to never do ever again. Worst part is, his parents and uncle had warned him about it, but being a kid, Sonic had a burst of needed sugar since it was so tasty.
"So what's the plan then?" Amy whispered.
"I'll distract the big guy and take out as many of those sushi, you guys focus on the rest, but be careful in not hurting the whale." Sonic informated, his eyes narrowed. "It's the only chance we got."
"We have to watch out for those clams and sea corals: I'm picking up unprecedented energy surges linked to the shard's power and mental stability of the giant sea monster as well as his minions," Tails whispered as he scanned the 'decorations' within the chamber. "If we get too close, it will alert him and catch us off-guard."
"(That's...eerie.)" The Hover Wisp murmured nervously.
"I thought it was bad enough we were traveling the super long tunnel of the whale, 'cause now that I think about it, it wasn't that long when I was first almost stomach-fied." The blue hedgehog mentally gulped, and now that he thought about it, the journey to this area had been longer than usual.
"That's because the shard is creating a unstablized inner rift, dimensionally stretching out the gorge-which is another name for the throat, by the way-and transforming it into the labyrinth in order for the sea monster to protect itself, and reshaping the body parts of the giant whale. That's why it took us a lot longer than it should've been." The nine year old cub explained, scanning quickly through his device.
Suddenly understanding, Sonic felt an inkling of hope rise. "So if we beat the sea monsters and get the shard back, the whale's body will go back to normal into eating food the quicker way?"
"Essentially."
"Well then, no time like the present. C'mon!"
Deciding to take it a bit of a more careful approach with his friends waiting for his signal, Sonic mentally counted the estimated number of the sea monster goons by eighteen but knew that as long as the Lunanina Comet Shard was inside that monster, more would keep on growing and the giant whale's eating systems would continue to change until the gentle guardian was under the monster's control.
Silently nodding to his friends, the hero of Mobius then swiftly dashed forward and swiped away the first nine half of the small sea monsters without them even realizing it, where the creatures barely had time to even acknowledge what happened or even feel the pain. They did bulge their eyes seconds before they exploded harmlessly into nothing. The monster's leader flinched, before it and the remaining nine turned just to see Sonic flip and land safely on the soft, squishy floor of the giant chamber, standing up with a confident smirk embedded on his muzzle.
"Hmph!" Sonic rubbed his nose in a casual manner, with his friends ready for his signal. "Heya, sea-vine! Remember me?"
The giant sea monster growled, in an soulless rage that instantly formed that the blue hedgehog had made it this far, while it's minions stood quickly and surrounded the teenager, entrapping him for capture. But the sixteen year old folded his arms, his eyes closed.
"Yeah, okay, that was a little too hasty and careless..." Sonic folded his arms in faux defeat, before frowning sternly at his enemies. "But let's make this clear, your Royal Weedness, you invaded my big friend here and conducting some illegal surgery and experiments to turn his stomach into a hotel and his gorge like some kind of maze that's painful in every away. That's something I don't agree on."
Sonic then narrowed his eyes when his opponent glared back. "You mess with the people I love, you're in for a whole world of pain from this hedgehog! So, you wanna do this the easy way and hand over that shard you got and get out, or are we gonna have to play rough?"
Instead of responding to the young Mobian, the sea monster roared while raising a hand into the air, commanding it's minions to kill him. Undaunted by this as the monsters charged, Sonic instead jumped and Spin Jumped higher to avoid in getting captured, while the nine minions ended up tangled into each other, grunting, struggling and one even ended up bashing another on the head, causing it to wince in a gurbled pained, 'Ow! Ow! OW!" and another accidentally tying it's hands together with it's own seaweed body, causing it to sweat drop dumbfounded, while the hero of Mobius used this opportunity to bash into them as they, slicing away the seaweed as he went.
Even as more began to appear to catch him off-guard, sensing this he quickly whistled loudly, much to the confusion of the giant sea monster who leaned back, confused.
"Now!" Sonic shouted loudly.
"(Charge!)" Speed shouted, zooming over using Sonic's technique ability, bashing into two, knocking them over to the walls where the sea monsters accidentally collided into two of the clam shells which shot out more sea-weed at them and sucked them in, trapping them.
The Mobians and Wisps all gasped in horror, after Amy whacked and bashed two more when they came close to her, ducking and flipping backwards the way Sonic taught her weeks ago after his birthday, avoiding the seaweed rope which caught another minion unintentionally and it ended up stuck with it's arms pinned to it's sides, struggling to free itself. The pink hedgehog used this to her advantage as she swung backwards to bash it away with a loud yell, causing it to be knocked back and the Breeze Wisp to freeze it into solid ice before it vanished into nothing.
"Watch out, guys! Those shells are capable of instant digestion!" Tails screamed out, hovering above more sea monsters before spinning his namesakes towards both, kicking at one's head so hard that it ended up...being shoved right into it's neck that it stumble a bit, trying to see where it was going while flailing it's arms helplessly.
While the sea monster was distracted and blind, the two-tailed kit used a Spin Dash to bash it away while narrowly missing the other one who whipped it's sea-weed rope at him only for the Hover Wisp to bash it towards the ceiling, making it scream in alarm. Sonic in the meantime saw four more appear and jumped to attack him, but the blue hedgehog smirked, leaping up and doing an Eagle-like Move, first using his Insta-Shield to block them off which made them fall towards the floor, and then he dove just as he gave each a slightly new move, spreading his arms out while giving each one a good hard swift, upward kicks, laughing away.
"AAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" The four sea-monsters literally let out high-pitched screams before falling once again, vanishing in a near instant upon defeat. All unaware that the entire chamber began to shift and rumble, due to being focused on the battle.
Seeing how it's minions were being defeated by three mere Mobians and three little aliens, the giant sea monster was now on it's wit's end that it flexed out it's arms just as Sonic and his friends rejoined in the middle, all glaring up at the massive creature. The blue hedgehog spread his arms out to protect his five companions right before it attempted to punch them with it's fist. Sonic was about to dodge when a quick horrified realization dawned onto him:
If the monster punched the stomach floor, it could cause great pain to the giant whale like a stomach ache and increasing the chances of killing the gentle sea animal and keeping the teenager and his friends trapped for the rest of their lives.
"Sonic!" Tails exclaimed, coming to the same realization.
"Way ahead of you! Get back!" Sonic ordered, before going for a Homing Attack, bashing into the sea-monster's fist to force it back to prevent it from punching anybody and the stomach floor.
The giant monster roared in agony, holding it's fist with it's left hand, just as Sonic then swiftly landed onto it's arm, racing up along it while mindful of the stick and tangled up seaweed body...Unfortunately this strategy didn't work as the monster, who saw him, leered before concentrating hard and parts of the seaweed came to life, much to his shock just as made him slip at first before it it coiled around his legs and arms.
"AHHH!" Sonic cried out in alarm, grunting as he tried to break free from the tightness of the sea-weed ropes while his friends cried out his name in horror.
Grinning evilly, the sea monster then made to grab Sonic.
"(NO, YOU DON'T!)" Speed angrily shouted, flying up quickly along side Tails who, not willing to allow his big brother to get hurt, both quickly used a combo-Spin Dash at the monster's face and left hand, but they were both smacked away and screamed in pain, just as Hover and Breeze both used their powers to quickly conjure up a shield to protect them.
"T-Tails! Speed! NO!" Sonic screamed out in horror, but sighed in relief when the other two Wisps saved them.
"Let go of my boyfriend, you toxic weed!" Amy snarled furiously, summoning another Hammer before thrusting it so hard it spun like a boomerang, quickly using another just as her weapon was also knocked back, except the second time hit it's mark, right in the face of the sea monster who roared in agony.
This resulted in the seaweed holding Sonic trapped to loosen, much to his surprise before smirking as he quickly thanked his girlfriend, before deciding to Spin Dash straight up, curling up tightly and this time is sharpened quills sliced through the tangled mess, bashing the evil creature several times on the head, shredding pieces of seaweed all over the place where it landed on the floor, lightly hitting the walls before falling and forcing the monsters to stumble before falling backwards.
"You guys okay?" Sonic asked after he landed safely back to his friends, gazing at Tails and Speed frantically in worry. For a moment there he thought his little brother and cobalt wisp friend were badly hurt, fear, sorrow and guilt slowly rising up in his chest.
"W-We're okay. It's you we're worried about." Tails winced, rubbing the top of his head he was certain was bruised from the unexpected attack.
"(We're gonna need another stragety before this sea-plant-monster gets all of us!)" The Breeze Wisp cried out frantically, pointing at the recovering sea monster who, rubbing it's face and falling apart body weeds, snarled at it's small opponents.
Just then, before either side could make a move, the whole stomach rumbled more violently, causing Sonic and his group, and even the sea monster to gasp and look around in panic and confusion. They all then yelped and screamed just as the sea monster stumbled clumsily, brushing it's sea-weed parts onto the walls of the second stomach, which caused the quakes to become even worse.
'Wait...Could having seaweed brush against his insides cause the big guy to get ticklish too?' Sonic thought to himself, realization formed into his mind. If that's the case, then maybe they can use this to their advantage and the giant whale could potentially sneeze all of them out including the monster.
That, and remembering what happened earlier could help them this time.
"I have an idea! Keep attacking the big guy and make sure some of the seaweed brushes against the wall, and if that doesn't work, try tickling him!" Sonic quickly instructed.
"HUH!?/(HUH!?)" His friends all exclaimed in shock.
"But, Sonic, wouldn't that cause the giant whale to...sprout us...out! That's it!" Tails, at first protesting, quickly came to the same realization with renewed hope, his face lit up. Understanding his big brother's plan, he nodded. "Got it!"
"But how will that work?" Amy asked, worriedly.
"(Yeah, I don't think it's such a good idea!)" The Hover Wisp cried out.
"Trust me! It's the only chance we got!" The blue hedgehog finalized, knowing that time was running out.
Despite that Amy and the Wisps were unsettled over this plan, seeing the pure determination on both Sonic and Tails' expression made them reluctantly nod in agreement, screaming as the shaking began to quickly get a bit worse.
Sonic then looked up apologetically, calling out. "Sorry to do this, big guy, but we're in a hurry and we can't stay here any longer."
"Incoming, Sonic!" Tails quickly warned, as the sea monster made to attack again.
"Here we go!" Sonic shouted, this time both he and Speed using a combo Homing Attacks to cancel out both of it's fists and then bashing up with Tails' help against the chest, the monster roaring in agony as parts of the seaweed flew off and some landing near the clams which engulfed the pieces and others onto the walls.
Then having another idea, the Breeze Wisp shared a glance with Amy who, coming to the same thought, and both nodded with the pink hedgehog aiming her hammer ready. While the little alien used it's ice power to freeze up some of the shards, Amy jumped with a yell.
"Watch out, boys! Here's a combo home-run!" She shouted, with the male Mobians and Speed to fly away as Tails held onto Sonic's hands. Amy then bashed and whacked several of the shards right at the monster's body without missing or accidentally hitting the second stomach's walls.
"Sonic, let's try tickling the walls to help out!" Tails suggested, grabbing hold of a piece of shredded sea-weed with one hand.
"Great idea!" Sonic praised with a thumbs up, allowing his little brother to fly over to the wall quickly as he gently began to rub and tickle the fleshy walls. "Here goes! Tickle tickle tickle!"
Seeing what the two brothers were doing, the Hover Wisp decided to join in and began rubbing and tickling at the walls, despite being a bit gross and slimy, as quickly as possible while the giant sea monster was distracted.
It was working, because back outside, the giant whale felt the sensation...the urge...and the powerless move to let out a big sneeze while feeling the effects of the battle inside it's second stomach, chuckling at first when it was being tickled by, as it realized with wide eyes and hope, Sonic and his friends who must've decided to try out the same method as the previous non-fish in order to escape.
"AH...HA...HA...HA HA HA HA HA! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!" The giant sea guardian laughed hysterically, splashing the water with it's fins and tail, the latter part accidentally creating a tidal wave which ended up all the way to the icy shores miles back...
Straight towards a group of Snowmen and Icicle Monsters who were attempting to capture more Wisps who flew higher in order to escape. But when the little aliens saw the huge wave coming straight towards the ice surface, they all squealed in panic and rapidly flew even higher, while the snow monsters snarled before noticing an overshadow loom, and by the time they looked up...they were engulfed and washed away, disappearing from sight.
The Wisps saw this before looking up ahead to see in the far distance of the giant whale laughing hysterically while floating on the shores of a beach.
"(What's with that big sea animal?)" Asked a confused Hazel Wisp. It's companions, who were a Laser, Spike, another Jumper, and Star Beam Wisps, all just shrugged or waved their tentacle arms cluelessly.
"What's he laughing at?" Knuckles demanded, getting more and more agitated by the giant whale's laughter. "He'd better not be thinking of keeping our friends as his food for himself...!"
"I don't think that's that the case, Mr. Knuckles...It looks like Mr. Whale is being tickled." Cream remarked thoughtfully, blinking.
"Chao, chao, chao." Cheese murmured in confusion.
It was then that Yacker, Sun, Star and the Cube Wisp realize that it was exactly what was going on as the cute curl-headed Wisp exclaimed in surprise and relief. "(Wait, that's it! That's what's going on!)"
"Huh?" Knuckles blinked.
"Remember what Yacker told us earlier and said to Sonic and the others?" Sun reminded, feeling hope rise in his chest. "They're tickling him so that he can sneeze them out!"
"Tickling him to sneeze?" The red echidna blinked, dumbfounded. Before he groaned as he thought this was a bad idea, muttering. "...I don't think that's going to let them go. It'll most likely want to keep them even more."
Yet the Guardian of the Master Emerald was wrong, because the giant whale indeed wanted to let Sonic's group go, as it had no intentions of keeping them as it's food. It could also feel them attemping to fight and defeat the giant monster, realizing that the only way to do so is to sneeze all of them out.
"AH HA HA HA HA HA! BWAHAHAHAHAHA! BWAAAAH AHAHAHAHA!" The giant whale began to laugh even harder, and then sip and gulp down water as part of it attempting to sneeze the young six heroes and the sea monster out of it's body.
When Sonic and Tails stopped the tickling and flew over avoiding the giant sea monster grabbing them, the two did their Double Spin Attack, hitting it several times despite nearly whacking them over. Amy in the meantime charged with the three other Wisps, bashing at it's legs while knocking away more of the smaller kinds, using the clam-shells to their advantage as well.
The more shredded sea-weed fell and hit the walls with the heroes leaping out of the way and preventing their enemy from causing more damage while tickling the walls, the more more violent the shaking and giant laughter that echoed all around them became.
"AH HA HA HA HA HA! BWAHAHAHAHAHA! BWAAAAH AHAHAHAHA!"
"Yeah, it's workin'!" Sonic cheered, despite feeling awful in tickling their giant ally, but if he and his friends wanted to stop the sea monster and get out of here now, this was their only chance.
"Keep it up, guys! We're almost there!" Tails added with increasing hope.
"Coo-cee-coo-cee-coo!" Amy cutely cooed.
"HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! AAAAAAAAAAHHHH HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAA!" The huge laughter of the giant whale grew even louder to the point where the second opening of the enormous second stomach opened up, that not even the sea monster was able to keep it's balance any much longer...
"HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! AAAAAAAAAAHHHH HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAA!" The giant whale laughed even more, subconsciously swallowing gallons and gallons of water, gulping down each time with splashes while accidentally soaking and knocking over Knuckles and Sun who both yelped while Star, Cream and Cheese and the Wisps moved back to avoid in getting wet themselves.
"WHOA!" The two Mobians cried out, before hitting the ground and groaned.
"Ugh, I wish Speed could've just teleported them out to avoid this." Sun shook his head after rubbing it.
"I wish there'd been another way to get the shard without anybody having to be eaten and turn themselves voluntarily into the giant whale's dinner." Knuckles groaned, irritated. This was not his day.
"BWAAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! BWAAAAAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA AAAAAAAAHHHHH!"
"Come on, guys...Keep it up. He's about to sneeze soon..." Star whispered hopefully, holding Cream and Cheese close to her.
"BWAH HA HA HA HA HA! AH HA HA HA HA-HA HA-AH-AH! AAAAAAHHHHHHH HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAA!"
"Please let them go, Mr. Whale..." Cream whispered, her heart pounding in worry and prayer.
"Chao..." Cheese squeaked.
"BWAAH HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! BWAAAAAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA AAAAAAAAHHHHH!" The giant laughter was become so powerful and loud it began to frighten the group, but they kept going none the less.
"That's it, big pal! Keep on laughin' 'til you sneeze!" Sonic encouraged, still tickling the walls as much as he and his friends could while focusing on defeating the sea monster or at least have it bee sneezed out with them. "Just a little bit more and we're home free..."
Just then, the sea-monster charged to attack, this time successfully knocking the Mobians and Wisps back, catching them off-guard. They all screamed in shock, fear and agony as they were flown back even as Sonic quickly grabbed hold of Amy and Tails, holding them close while flying closer and closer to the walls.
To make things worse, the giant sea monster used this to it's advantage and shot out it's sea-weed ropes like bungie and caught the two teenage hedgehogs and the nine year old fox cub, gripping them tightly causing the trio to scream out in pain and fear. With their arms pinned to their sides, Sonic, Amy and Tails were left helpless as they tried to break free from the seaweed, but it was too strong and their evil opponent grinned manically, using it's power to tighten it's frop on it's prey.
"Ngh!" Sonic squeezed his eyes shut, his heart racing as he began to feel really scared, able to partially open them to see, to his horror, his best friend/little brother and girlfriend also trapped. Guilt and fear began to overcome his senses as he was blaming himself for getting them involved in this mess.
"UGH! Let go of me!" Tails grunted, wriggling helplessly to break the seaweed. He was unable to hold back the whimper that escaped from his lips, yet tried so hard as he glared at the seaweed monster as bravely as he could.
"Let! Us! Go!" Amy demanded, despite being absolutely terrified herself, she tried to put up a brave face, especially when she caught sight of the hurt, fear and guilt in her boyfriend's eyes and her heart broke, realizing that he was blaming himself for this to happen.
'This is all my fault...! There's gotta be a way to get out of this! I can't give up!' The blue hedgehog thought frantically, once again closing his eyes, hoping for some sort of miracle.
Suddenly as though grunting his wish, unbeknownst to the hero of Mobius and his friends, the Lunania Comet shard in his quills began to shine and spread and on top of that, Sonic's body glowed briefly in a blue aura which spread throughout the entire seaweed ropes holding him, Amy and Tails captive, straight towards the giant sea monster who, seeing this and gaped in shock and disbelief as though about to shout out, 'WHAT!?', before the shard inside it's chest began to glow as well as though reacting to Sonic's shard.
Combined with the two lights now reacting, as though they were the Chaos Emeralds sensing the pure benevolent personality within Sonic's heart, the positive energy caused sheer agony which forced the creature to roar and forced loosen it's grip on the Mobians who, blinking in confusion to feel the tightness ease, gasped before they all fell towards the floor below screaming.
The Wisps, swirling around and around in pain, winced while attempting to reposition themselves, before seeing their friends in danger and, horrified, quickly used their powers to save the three Mobians with their shield, gently lowering them to the floor. Sonic, Amy and Tails all winced while their little alien friends, panting in exhaustion which made the trio's hearts freeze up in grave concerns, but none more so than Sonic who, unaware that the aura on his body stopped closing and the two shards dimming slightly, feared that their Hyper-Go-Ons were running low.
"BWAH HA HA HA HA HA! AH HA HA HA HA-HA HA-AH-AH! AAAAAAHHHHHHH HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAAA!"
'We'd better wrap this up quick, or else we're done for...' Trying to think quickly as the giant sea monster, who, recovering, snarled before walking straight towards them to finish them off despite the strange light making it weaker and lose control of the shard within it's body, Sonic narrowed his eyes before an idea formed into his head.
"Tails, Hover, I need you both to help me out!" Sonic quickly instructed, turning to the aforementioned duo before adding to the other three. "Amy, you, Speed and Breeze distract him and keep tickling the big guy's walls!"
"Got it!" Amy nodded, picking up the piece of seaweed left discarded.
"Okay!" Tails gave the blue hedgehog a thumbs up, with a confident yet nervous smirk.
"Ready?" Sonic counted down, as he and the others stood and floated. Just as the giant monster made to grab or punch them with it's weeds forming out to coil them, he shouted. "GO!"
They all charged with yells, Tails lifting Sonic up with Hover joining him, the Breeze Wisp quickly using it's powers to freeze up the seaweed ropes on the arms, much to the monster's shock and horror which allowed the two-tailed fox to spin and toss Sonic who allowed the green Wisp to merge into his chest. Amy and Speed then distracted the monster with the cobalt Wisp flying around and around it's head which made the creature dizzy, Amy using her Hammer to attack it's legs and the Breeze Wisp gave it a bit of a cold chill, causing it to shiver and began to stumble forward.
"HOVER!"
With his transformation and much shared strength, Sonic and the Hover Wisp burst right onto the giant sea monster's chest, forcing it up right until they seeped into it, breaking the sea-weed on it's body while Amy and Speed, along with Tails who then quickly joined them, began tickling the walls once more, this time more quickly in hopes in ending this once and for all.
"HA HA HA HA HA HA! HAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! HA HA HA HA-HAHAHAH!"
As the laughter of the giant Whale increased once again, Sonic dove straight through the sea monster's chest, seeing a lingering light which, combined with the shard shinging brightly once again, this time noticeable, much to his and the Hover Wisp's confusion which began to spread and engulf the monster from inside out.
"Huh? What's going on?" Sonic exclaimed, before linking as he saw another piece hovering slightly above his head. Narrowing his eyes, in his Hover Form, the blue hedgehog reached out and grabbed hold of it, the two shards now shining just as bright in his possession with his body glowing a bright aura of blue.
It spread out from the inside of the sea monster who, in horrified realization that it was defeated, winced and squirmed to try and dig the teenager and the Wisp out, but in then stretched out it's arms and in dying agony while covered and engulfed in the powerful light, briefly blinding Tails, Amy and the remaining Wisps who quickly shield their eyes with their hands.
With a large massive gulp of water while being tickled to the point that it could actually feel it's tiny trapped friends getting more desperate since neither of them wanted to be inside it's body anymore and it didn't blame them, feeling guilty for keeping Sonic's group for a long period of time until either it or Speed recovered, the latter needing until tomorrow yet time was running out, the giant whale swallowed the gallons of it.
"HA HA HA HA HA HA! HAAAAA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA! HA HA HA HA-HAHAHAH!" The whale continued to laugh, before it began to settle down with a soft pant and then sigh in relief as it felt the pain inside it's body fade.
Then...it came. The tickling sensation from it's stomachs, lingering and trickling right up to it's face on the inside.
"HAH...! AH...AHHH...AH HA HA HA..." The Whale sniffled.
Just as the light faded and the giant sea-monster vanished without a trace, Tails, Amy, Speed, and the Breeze Wisp looked up hesitantly, to find a blue glowing orb hover in the place where the creature was, before it vanished to reveal Sonic who returned to his normal form, gently descending and landed on the floor, with the Hover Wisp demerging out of his chest.
He panted, kneeling on one knee, the second shard piece now in his possession right before Sonic collapsed onto his bottom with a sigh.
"Sonic!" Amy exclaimed as she and the others hurried to his side, bending next to him.
"Are you okay?" Tails asked, worriedly.
"Yeah...Don't know what that was all about." Sonic smiled, tiredly but in good spirits and feeling his energy return to normal. Just then, the whole room around them glowed once more, much to his and everybody else's surprise.
To their amazement, all of the seaweed monsters and decorations vanished without a trace, and outside of the second stomach, the whole throat and gorge began to return to normal as well, with the painful labyrinth vanishing, and healing the giant whale back to it's healthy state. That, upon hearing the whale sigh in relief, and the group smiled happily, gazing at the crystal the hero of Mobius now had in his possession.
"We got it!" Sonic cheered, holding the second Lunania Comet Shard in his hand. With that, the inside of the giant whale began to return to normal as the labyrinth vanished almost instantly. He and his friends smiled and celebrated happily.
"We did it! The Whale's saved!" Tails happily exclaimed.
"And it was all of the team effort!" Amy declared, while Speed happily waved his arms while the Breeze and Hover Wisps flew around despite being a little exhausted themselves.
Yet before Sonic and his friends could continue their celebration and ask Speed to get them out, they heard a loud shaking rumble before turning to where they came from and gasped was a huge tidal wave was flowed straight inside with the second stomach's doorway opening, more than enough to reach the blowhole now and for the giant whale to sneeze them out.
Now that their job is done and they had unintentionally made their friend tickled enough despite not having the giant sea monster being sneezed out itself, at least they were about to finally escape from being sea-food. Plus, given how tired Speed looked despite being so happy that they won, the little Jumping Wisp clearly needed some rest before he could use his teleporting power.
"HAH...! AH...AHHH...AH HA HA HA..."
"It's working!" Amy cheered in relief.
"He's about to sneeze!" Tails added.
"Alright! Here we go!" Sonic smirked in relief, before he and all of his friends quickly gathered and held on just as the water engulfed them and as they were washed and flipped inside before they were suddenly being sucked upwards.
They all screamed and yelped just as they were getting closer and closer to the blowhole...and finally towards freedom!
Knuckles and the others noticed what the giant Whale was about to do, with Cream wondering what was going on and, fearing they were about to be blown away, flinched when the massive sea guardian opened and closed it's mouth repeatedly.
"That...doesn't look good." Sun murmured, nervously.
"Is Mr. Whale okay?" Cream asked, worriedly.
"Chao, chao?" Cheese sweat dropped, getting a bad feeling about this.
"(Uhhhh...I think we should move outta the way.)" The Burst Wisp suggested, gulping when he and soon everybody else then realized what this meant.
The giant Whale breathed in and out, ready to let out the sneeze that would be as strong as a powerful gust of wind.
"He's gonna blow!" Knuckles shouted, as he and the rest of the group cried out before quickly moving out of the way.
"AH...AH-AH-AH...AHHHH-CHOOOO!" The giant Whale let out a big might sneeze which forced it to blow out water from it's blowhole...and Sonic, Tails, Amy and all of the Wisps with them being shot into the air and finally free after being inside the stomachs for so long.
"WHOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAA!" Sonic and his friends all screamed as they were flown right into the air, before the Wisps, quickly recovering, used their powers to create another shield once more to save their Mobian friends who floated after they stopped spinning.
Panting in relief and at the close call, the group looked around to see no longer the pink fleshy walls of the inside of the giant whale...but the bright blue sky coming into sunset, with the planet's current environment greeting them. They smiled in relief and cheered happily.
"YEAH! We did it!" Sonic exclaimed happily.
"We're out!" Tails added.
"Alright!" Sonic and Tails both shared a high-five for their success and newly earned freedom.
"We made it!" Amy exclaimed, before she and her friends were gently set onto the sand dune where they reunited with their very relieved friends.
With another shard in hand, saving the giant whale and escaping it's two stomachs, Sonic and his friends were once again successful over their accomplishments.
"Amy! Mr. Sonic! Mr. Tails! Mr. Speed and Wisps! You're all okay!" Cream cried happily, racing over to her surrogate big sister who hugged her tightly, while Sun and Star hurried to Sonic and Tails, Knuckles quickly following to share a bro-fist with the very relieved blue hedgehog, and Yacker and the other Wisps waiting outside happily formed a group hug with Speed's Wisp group.
"You made it!" Star beamed happily.
"It's good to see ya's!" Knuckles remarked in relief.
"You had us worried there, bro." Sun added, smiling emotionally.
Sonic smiled just as emotionally back. "Thanks, guys. For a while there, I thought we were gonna be stuck as the big guy's food for at least a while longer."
All of his friends just smiled, before every single one of them shared the much needed and very emotional group hug, cherishing it and each other with all of their hearts. Neither one wanted to depart or separate like that ever again.
"Oh, man...It was so scary in there, I thought we were never gonna get out." Tails sniffled.
"Well, who were the crazy ones volunteering in letting themselves get swallowed up by a giant whale as food?" The tangerine hedgehog half-sarcastically pointed out.
"Blame the sea monster for tryin' to kill our friend." Sonic shrugged back, unable to hold back his sniffle before he wiped away his tears. "But man, it's so great to be back out in the open air."
"(Sorry I couldn't get you guys out like we planned. I feel awful letting you down.)" Speed murmured, lowering his gaze and feeling disappointed in himself for having become too exhausted to the point of having his ability drained during the battle.
"Hey, don't worry about, little guy." Sonic reassured with a soft smile, gently rubbing the cobalt Wisp's head. "You and the other Wisps saved us and helped out in fighting even though it isn't really your style. You both deserve a much needed break and we can't thank you enough."
"He's right, Speed. You helped us out a whole lot, and that's what important." Amy agreed, gently giving the cute little alien a kiss on the head which made Speed blush heavily in embarrassment, prompting the girl Wisps to giggle at the cute scene before them.
The Hammer, Burst and Red-Spiky Wisps on the other hand stared blankly before groaning in disgust, the grey little alien groaning loudly. "(Ugh, yuck! That's just gross!)"
"(BLEGH!)" The other two Wisps turned a slight shade of green, which made Sonic and everybody else, who noticed, including the giant whale who, sighing in sheer relief to see it's small, young friends finally out, all laughed.
Sonic then turned to the whale himself and, remembering the entire adventure inside the latter's body, feeling guilty for all the troubles that were caused, he approached the gentle giant who gazed back, looking just as guilt-ridden for having been forced to eat it's blue friend. It gave out a soft but sad moan, to which the blue hedgehog sensed more than he could see, Sonic knew that it's friendship meant so much more.
"You feeling any better, big guy?" Sonic asked sympathetically, and the giant whale nodded. He sighed just as the huge guardian edged a bit closer and reached out to gently rub it's face in in attempt to give it comfort. "I'm really sorry for what you had to go through. I wish I could've prevented that sea monster from going inside you, then none of this would've happened."
The whale shook his head, and nobody needed to translate that it didn't blame the teenage blue hedgehog, and with that it was more than grateful for him and his friends for saving it's life, carefully nuzzling at the sixteen year old who laughed, before he smiled and leaned against it, hugging his giant friend.
"You're welcome. Thank YOU for saving us from being trapped in your food stomach." He told it, feeling a lot more safer and glad that the giant whale was safe and alive now. They had achieved their goal.
Everyone smiled warmly over the friendship and kindness Sonic and the giant Whale shared, before going over to join in, the Wisps and Cheese snuggling onto the sea creature's wet but soft skin, and the giant guardian smiled while closing it's eyes to cherish this moment.
All of the sudden, Sonic and the others suddenly felt the sand underneath them begin to give way as though it was starting to disappear. Alarmed and confused, the heroes glanced to see only to gasp when they saw the sand bar, as well as all of the tropical theme half created by the Lunania Comet Shard begin to disappear, leaving behind nothing but half of the ocean and all of the seaweed monsters vanishing without a trace, returning to lifeless seaweed.
"Whoa! Heads up!" Sonic yelped in alarm, sweat dropping as he feared they were about to suddenly drop into the water...which he and most of his friends did, crying out as they splashed ino the cold, wet and terrifying liquid.
While the Mobians and Cheese resurfaced with Amy and Star both quickly holding onto Cream since, while she was starting to get good in her own swimming lessons without needing the floating rings and wings, she was still far too young to be in deep water, Sonic was briefly left flailing while trying to keep himself afloat.
"AAAHHH! GUYS, HELP ME!" He screamed, panicking as one of his greatest fears began to overcome him, struggling to stay up in the surface.
"We got you, Sonic!" Tails shouted, he, Sun and Knuckles swimming over and holding onto the terrified and rapidly sinking blue hedgehog who, feeling their hands and arms grabbing him, held on while panting.
This didn't last long as the giant whale, sympathized, already sank briefly before resurfacing slowly, picking up it's smaller friends who yelped when they all suddenly found themselves back onto the top of it's body and allowing them to sit on the solid form of their friend. The Wisps, who had flown up and were about to use their powers again, saw what happened and rejoined their friends.
"Are you okay?" Knuckles asked as the panting and wheezing Sonic, who sat on his hands and knees, traumatized, shivered in the coldness, the older Mobian gently placing his hand onto the blue hedgehog's back with Tails and Sun close.
"Uh-huh...Thought I was gonna drown for a second there." Sonic shuddered, catching his breath.
"Um...You still have your Sea-Mask on, right?" Tails gently pointed out awkwardly, pointing at the aforementioned invention he created, everyone else, concerned for the sixteen year old's wellbeing, sweat dropping a little.
Blinking in realization, touching his face and saw that he actually forgot about it, Sonic now blushed sheepishly as he turned it off before resting the goggles on top of his head, grinning in embarrassment.
"Oh...Oops." The hedgehog shrugged. In his panic, he had been so scared after being inside the giant whale for so long. At least his friends had saved him from sinking, though. Sonic had no intentions of being eaten ever again for the rest of his life.
Or drowning.
"Thanks for saving us again," Amy gently expressed to the giant whale who made a musical moan once more, this time expressing it's own gratitude. Smiling softly before shuddering, the pink hedgehog thought to herself. 'It's a good thing my winter clothes are waterproof even though it's a warmer part of the world. I wish this had been a drier adventure, though.'
Despite this, she turned her concern to her cobalt boyfriend who was recovering from his near sinking, relieved that the Sea-Mask prevented him, and even herself and Tails from drowning. Though she ultimately made it her goal to never ever go through being swallowed whole alive ever again. The thirteen year old was definitely certain she was going to be having nightmares for a while now.
"Uh, guys? I think it's not completely over yet." Star spoke up, deeply concerned for a different reason as she stared up over the horizon.
When the rest of the group including the whale looked up to see, they all gasped in shock as instead of the whole world returning to normal, while the tropical sunshine parts of the transformed planet disappeared, parts of the sands that vanished and connected to the colder icier parts were then frozen, blocking out the water and now only half of Aquarium Park was restored to normal, the other remaining in ice, and even creating slightly newer parts to fill up the blank but stopped not even halfway towards where the heroes were.
"What's going on? I thought taking the shard from the sea monster would turn the whole planet back to normal." Sonic demanded in shock, gazing at the crystal still in his hand.
"Yeah, it's like only half of it has come right." Sun agreed, dumbstruck. "So why is half of it still like this?"
While the Wisps shared uneasy glances and the rest of the group tried to figure out how to figure this out, Tails, glad that his Miles Electric is water-proof, pulled out his device and made a quick scan and analysis on it before gasping in shock.
"Oh no!"
"What, what is it?" Sonic asked.
"The reason why the other half of the planet is still transformed is because the Lunanina Comet Shard split into two, separating their energy patterns by decreasing their stability to provide an erratic transformation of Aquarium Park in a parallel dimensional force!" The two-tailed fox explained, fear becoming more and more apparent on his facial features.
The reaction he got were dumbfounded expressions from all of his friends despite slowly becoming horrified as each and every one of them felt they weren't going to like where this was going.
"Uhh...Tails? In English, please?" The blue hedgehog requested with a sweat drop.
"In other words, when the shard landed on this planet, was split into two and caused a dangerous friction. Think of it as when..." The young twin-kitsune paused, his heart hanging heavily as he hesitated on how to say his next words carefully.
Finding enough courage when the blue hedgehog grew increasingly worried and impatient, he continued. "Well, when Eggman split Mobius apart, only by splitting the shard, instead of turning it into a single new environment like on Sweet Mountain, two halves caused separate transformations of both sides. Meaning there's another piece of the one we just got that is the main force of the ice parts."
"WHAT!?" Everybody else exclaimed, horrified and understanding now.
"I see, so while one half of the shard is warm, the other half is the colder one, creating not just the sea monsters but also the snow monsters separately. Meaning that both halfs are in war with each other for domination." Star, realizing what this meant, shuddered.
"(So...does that mean the world won't go back to fully normal until we get the other half of the shard that broke?)" Ghostly, not understanding all of the scientific stuff, asked worriedly.
"Exactly." Tails and Star both confirmed grimly.
"Oh, great!" Sonic facepalmed himself in frustration, realizing what this meant. "Even though we saved one half of the planet by stopping the sea monsters, that only just gave the mutant-snow-cones an advantage to turn the whole world into a giant refrigerator!"
"(So we still have to fight the snow monsters?)" Speed complained, slumping in annoyance and dismay while Yacker patted the younger Wisp on the back, Lily shaking in anger, Ghostly and Cutie both sharing uneasy glances, the Breeze and Hammer Wisps each raising an eye-ridge, and the Burst, Red-Spiky and Hover Wisps looked dumbfounded. "(I'm starting to not like that Falling Star even more...)"
"That makes the both of us." Sun murmured in agreement, sighing as he shook his head. "I knew there was something odd about this."
"That's just great..." Knuckles grunted, irritated by the whole thing. Though given how the world had an unstabled weather condition blending into each other, it was no wonder one half was hot while the other was like the Ice Cap Zone.
Well, almost.
Sonic in the meantime lowered his hand, his heart once again being plagued with the massive guilt for having messed up big time. All this time, and they were only half-way in saving Aquarium Park. He almost lost his friends while they were inside the giant whale to save it's life, and while they had succeeded in defeating the seaweed monster, the planet will not fully be safe until they got the second half of the broken shard.
'This never would've happened if I hadn't wasted my time wallowing in my guilt and stopped Eggman a whole lot sooner.' Yet the instant the blue hedgehog thought of that, he once again reminded himself of what could have happened if the evil scientist was still alive.
No doubt the mad doctor would've made things more difficult while Sonic and his family and friends had been imprisoned in the White Space by the Time Eater, Scourge and Cormain. But that didn't make things any better.
'Maybe I really am just a magnet of disaster. This whole thing is all my fault. I put everybody in the whole universe in danger because I got too careless...' Sonic lowered his gaze, tears swelling up in his eyes as he unknowingly sniffled with his lips trembling.
Almost lost in his guilt, Sonic jumped a little with a soft gasp when he felt gentle, slightly smaller, gloved warm hands and arms wrap themselves around his waist, a fuzzy soft head nuzzling onto his chest. Looking down curiously, the blue hedgehog blinked in surprise to see Tails, who, seeing the look of absolute misplaced guilt forming once again on his big brother's face, felt his heart crack and decided to give him a much needed embrace of comfort.
"It's not your fault, big bro. Cormain was the one behind everything that's happened and nobody would have predicted it. No one can really see the future or expect everything." Tails whispered, his voice cracked a little with a linger of tails forming in his sweet, beautiful blue eyes.
"Tails..." Sonic began, only for Amy, who along with everyone else saw how silent the blue hedgehog had gotten and, hearing him sniffle with Knuckles and Sun seeing the linger of tears, gently approached and wrapped her arms around his shoulders which made the sixteen year old gaze at her.
"It'll be okay, sweetie. We're here for you, and we'll make things right." Amy reassured, smiling softly before she lightly teased. "And no self-blames or sadness, okay? You promised not to, remember?"
As every single one of his friends gathered around to give out their support and comfort to him, the hero of Mobius felt his heart swell up as even the giant whale, sensing how sad he was, gave a soft, warm and beautiful melody sound to try and cheer him up. As such, he remembered what he and his girlfriend had talked about on the night of his birthday, and what the Mother Wisp had told him back on Sweet Mountain.
"(Never forget of who you are, or what you have learned. Everything will be alright, and please, do not blame yourself. You are still young, and still growing. You shouldn't hold the burden all on your own.)"
Realizing that the giant Wisp was right and even though Sonic feared for the safety of the people he loved deeply with all of his heart, the blue hedgehog knew, hero or not, he was still young himself. Heck, he just turned sixteen years old three weeks ago! For five years, he had done things many adults would fail to do and had taken responsibility, even with the help of his companions. There are times when he needed their help and he would help them in return without hesitation.
"...Thanks, guys. I can't think of a life without any of you." Sonic whispered emotionally with a soft smile, wiping away his tears before embracing his best friends/family which they, even Knuckles who felt embarrassed as it lowered his defenses as well as his dignity and serious demeanor, all returned it, everyone chuckling and giggling for the love they held for each other.
Once they slowly stopped their group hug, the blue hedgehog then gently patted the giant whale's head. "Thank you too, big guy. And don't worry, we'll get the other half of the shard and turn this world back to normal. I promise."
The massive guardian smiled warmly, feeling relieved that not only it's tiny friends were safe and sound and finally out of it's body, but also that the very brave and kind cobalt Mobian was smiling again. It was difficult to not take a liking for Sonic the Hedgehog, who, despite being young, would go out of his way to help others which is what made him to be a true hero of the Universe. The giant Whale would do anything in it's power to protect the blue child and his friends if they were ever in grave danger in the ocean.
"(So, where can we find the second half of the shard?)" The Burst Wisp asked, curiously with a shrug.
"Well, since the half we got is the tropical side, the other one is most likely somewhere on the colder side." Sonic pointed out, his arms folded thoughtfully.
While the group attempted to figure out their next course of action on where to look next, Cheese then noticed something and his small eyes widened with a glimmer of hope rising in his chest. He squeaked out to alert his friends, confusing the Mobians and the Wisps at first, before Cream noticed herself and told her friends to look to their right. "Oh! Look, everybody!"
"Hm?" Amy murmured as she and the rest of the group turned to see, to their surprise with their eyes widening, another icy continent came to view and all around them in the far distance, an ice palace loomed with the waves gently crashing into the shores of the ice glaciers.
"(Do you think that's where we'll find the other shard half?)" Ghostly wondered, hopefully.
"Well, it could be and if the ice palace does have it, my guess would that like the food and sea monsters, the snow creatures would have a leader as well, and that could be where they are." Tails deduced firmly as realization formed into his young genius mind.
"Only one way to find out. Let's take a look." Sonic declared with narrowed eyes.
Knowing that there were no other leads to follow in order to get the second half of Lunanina Comet Shard back, the group agreed with the blue hedgehog who asked the Whale to take them as far as towards the shores. The giant sea mammal made a musical moan of agreement before it swam towards their next destination.
Unbeknownst to them, Whacker the former Hammer Wisp hovered high above the group as he had been observing the heroes silently. Seeing the battle the Mobians performed earlier made him grin with excitement, and not just seeing Sonic who fused briefly with two Wisps, but also Tails and Knuckles who along with the rest of the heroes were amazing in fighting and defeating the monsters, especially when they had entered the giant whale willing by allowing it to gulp and swallow them up before letting them go to get the first half of the second shard back.
"Oooh...! Those two guys are so cool! But I'm beginning to like those other guys already!" The grey transformed alien softly exclaimed in glee, spinning around and flew about before he used his head to smash away the ice blocks and random ice and snow monsters who, upon seeing the former Wisp, flinched in shock before they were oblierated into nothing. "This is awesome! I wanna get a closer look on how they get the other Falling Star piece!"
To think that he was being given a chance to try and convince Sonic and Tails to join the Wisps and stay on Planet Wisp for the rest of their lives, Whacker grinned cheekily before he flew in to follow them in hopes of making the two young Mobians realize that they belonged to all Wisps and nobody else.
Not even their home world of Mobius.
A/N: Sorry that I couldn't fit the continuation of the Tropical Frost adventure this time, but what I can say is that the warmer climate half is over, so now Sonic and his friends are about to continue with the colder climate where they will find more unexpected surprises along the way.
But how will the heroes react when they finally learn of the Baby Yeti being in this world? Only time will tell.
