Lorelai went into the office Monday morning a little later than normal because of her appointment.

"Morning." She said to everyone as she went into the conference room. She had received a text that there was a new case and to get to the conference room when she got to the office.

They all said morning and gave her a summary of the case before continuing.

"thirty minutes to wheels up," Hotch said as they finished going over it.

They all got up and Lorelai smiled at JJ. It was her first day back.

They all flew out to Kentucky. They started to work on the case of serial murders. Hotch Jr. was talking to the teenage son of one of the victims at the station. She had already told him how sorry she was that his mother had been murdered

"Do you know anyone who would want to hurt your mother?" She asked the boy.

"You think if I did I wouldn't have told the police sooner?" Annoyance clear in his voice

"What about your father? He in the picture?" She asked

"I don't even know who he is." The boy said

Lorelai nodded. "Never told anything about him?"

"All she told me is he didn't want to be a father. Signed his rights away and left." He said

Lorelai nodded. "I'm sorry. Where were you when she was murdered?"

"I had a basketball game. She was supposed to be there. She never showed up." He said

Lorelai nodded and wrote it down.

"Did she have a boyfriend?" Lorelai asked

He shook his head. "Not that I know of."

"Is it something she would have talked to you about?" She asked

"Not in detail. But she would tell me if she had a date. She hadn't gone on a date in a while." He said

Lorelai nodded. "Anything you can think of that might help?"

He shook his head. "I really have no idea who would do something like this."

"Okay. Well, your aunt is coming to stay with you." She said

He rolled his eyes.

"Don't like your aunt?" She asked

"She's very… opinionated." He said

Lorelai nodded "Oh. I'm sure she just wants to take care of you."

"Yeah. She's been trying to get my mother to send me to her for years. Doesn't agree with the friends I hang out with and thinks I'm heading down the 'wrong path'" He said

Lorelai nodded. "I have to ask. What is 'wrong' with your friends"

"My aunt is racist. I have a few friends who aren't white." He said

Lorelai let out a breath. "I see."

"And she thinks they are all trouble simply because of the color of their skin." He said

Lorelai nodded. "What did your mom have to say to her when your aunt wanted you to come live with her?"

"She told her to fuck off." He said

Lorelai nodded. "When was the last time they fought about it?"

"A couple of days ago." He said. He could see where she was going. "My aunt wouldn't do this. She might be racist, but she loved her little sister. She practically raised her."

"Okay. I'm not jumping to conclusions." She said

He nodded.

A few minutes later his aunt came into the room. "You are done talking to him without a lawyer."

"He doesn't need a lawyer. He is not a suspect." Lorelai said

"I don't care. You're done." She said

Lorelai nodded "How about you? Willing to answer a few questions?" Lorelai asked

"I was not anywhere near here when she was murdered." The woman said

"Where were you?" Lorelai asked

"I'm not answering anything else without a lawyer either." She said

"Then get one," Lorelai said before getting up and heading to the conference room.

"How'd it go?" Lewis asked. She was the only other person in the room

"He answered all my questions until his aunt showed up and shut things down. Now neither will be talking to us without a lawyer." Lorelai said

"Maybe I could give it a shot?" Dr. Lewis suggested

"Um. I wouldn't suggest that…." Lorelai said

"Why?" Lewis asked

Lorelai let out a breath. "Aunt is apparently racist…."

Lewis nodded and got up.

"Sorry," Lorelai said as the other woman left the room.

She texted the rest of the team what she had been told.

Tara came back in with a cup of coffee and sat down.

"You don't need to apologize for other opinions." Dr. Lewis said

Lorelai nodded.

Morgan came in.

"She got them both lawyers. Hotch wants you and I to go at the sister." He said to Dr. Lewis.
"She lied to you. She was in town on the day of all four murders and has been connected to all the victims." He said to Lorelai

Lorelai nodded. "I knew she was lying."

"Hotch wants to throw her off her game with the two of us?" Dr. Lewis asked

"Yup," Morgan said.

"Wants you to go talk to the son again." He said to Hotch Jr.

Lorelai nodded. "Can do."

The three of them got up and went to do as instructed.

Morgan & Lewis were with the sister for two hours before she finally started to unravel.

Lorelai had talked to the boy some more before JJ came into the room. "Sorry to interrupt." She said

"This is Agent Jareau," Lorelai told the boy

"Just came to tell you that I have contacted social services," JJ said. "Your aunt unfortunately won't be able to care for you."

The boy looked at her. "She did it didn't she?"

"I thought you said she would never," Lorelai said

He looked down.

"Trying to protect your family?" Lorelai asked. "It's okay. I'm not angry. I get it."

"I wasn't sure, to be honest. I just…" He said

"Didn't want us to blame her without knowing for sure she did it?" JJ asked

He nodded.

"For future reference, we always need evidence or a confession from the guilty. We wouldn't just throw her in jail because you think she did it." JJ said

He nodded

"But a social worker is on their way," JJ said.

The boy nodded and soon the social worker showed up and Lorelai and JJ went back to the conference room. No one else was in there. Lorelai sat down and laid her head down on her folded arms.

"Tired?" JJ asked

"Yup. Didn't sleep well this weekend." She said

"Ah. Adjusting to the new house and being pregnant makes sense." JJ said

"And had more discomfort than normal. Had a ribbed popped out." Lorelai said

"Ouch. Yeah. That can happen. It did with my first pregnancy" JJ said

"Yeah. Had it popped back in this morning," Lorelai said

JJ nodded. "Good."

Slowly the rest of the team came into the room and started on the paperwork.

When they finished up they headed to the jet and started for home.

Aaron pulled Lorelai over to the two seats that face each other.

"You popped a rib?" He asked

"So, this is my dad, not my boss talking?" Lorelai asked

Aaron nodded.

"Yes. But I had it popped back in by the chiropractor. It's not uncommon in pregnancy as the baby grows to make room." Lorelai said

"Your doctor tell you that?" Aaron asked

"A doctor. When I told Spencer he texted John and asked him if it was normal." Lorelai said. "It said it's not uncommon," Lorelai said

"Is it because the baby is growing or because you lifted too much when you moved?" He asked

Lorelai looked down

Aaron nodded. "Does Spencer know how it really happened?"

Lorelai shook her head.

Aaron raised an eyebrow. "Do not make me tell him."

Lorelai nodded.

When they landed they all went their own ways and went home. Lorelai took a shower before Spencer did the same and she threw together a quick meal for them to eat before they both crashed for a few hours.
