Lorelai looked at the nursery all finished. Her dad, Emily, Derek and Penelope, and Rebecca, Rachel were in the kitchen with Spencer. Jack and Lillian were playing in the living room. They had just finished setting it up. She felt the baby pushing on her stomach. "Yup, This is your room. And some of the people who are going to love you the most have helped your daddy and I make it perfect for you." She said

Rebecca came up behind. "Yup. Your godmother being one." She said with a smirk

"Who said we are even going to choose godparents?" Lorelai said with a smile

"Fair enough," Becca said with a chuckle.

"But I know you're going to be one of her favorite aunties," Lorelai said with a smile

"Damn right I will be," Becca said

Lorelai took her friend's hand and put it on her tummy to feel the baby moving.

"Definitely slower movements," Becca said

"Yup. Don't think I can stretch any further for her to have much room to move." Lorelai said with a chuckle. "Just her pushing on my ribs and bladder."

"You be nice to your mommy," Becca said rubbing her belly

Lorelai smiled.

"Well, I've been told to come and get you," Becca said

Lorelai chuckled and the two of them went to the living room and sat down. Spencer handed her a cup of tea. Lorelai smiled. "Thank you."

They all enjoyed their tea and coffee and talked.

"You ready for your maternity leave?" Penny asked

"Mixed feeling. Honestly." Lorelai said "I know it's the right thing to do. I know it's time. But I'm going to miss the work."

"Before long you will have a baby and she will keep you busy," Aaron said.

Lorelai smiled and nodded. "Thank you all for coming and helping. This baby isn't born yet and I think she can sense how many people already love her," she said

Penny nodded. "Yes. She is and will be so loved."

They finished their drinks and kept talking. Lorelai took a deep breath and rubbed at her tummy.

"Pushing on something?" Emily asked

"Um. Always. But I think that might have been a braxton hicks contraction." Lorelai said

"What? A contraction?" Spencer asked

Lorelai smiled. "Mr. Smarty pants doesn't know what a braxton hicks contraction is?"

"Well. I mean. I do. But." Spencer said

"They are normal Spencer." Emily said, "Her body is just started to get ready."

Spencer nodded.

"You experienced them?" Lorelai asked

"Yes. And you will know when it's a real contraction. Trust me." Emily said

Lorelai chuckled.

"What's a contraction?" Jack asked

"It's the way the body tells a woman it's time to have the baby. There are two kinds of contractions. braxton hicks which means that the body is starting to get ready. That's what I have right now. A real contraction is stronger and starts in a different place and means the body is very close to being ready to deliver the baby." Lorelai said.

Jack nodded and went back to playing with Lilian.

"So, you have a name picked?" Rachel asked

"We have a first name. Still some decisions about the middle name." Spencer said

"You going to share the name?" Rachel asked.

"When she is born," Lorelai said.

Rachel sighed. "Come on please."

"Rachel cut it out," Aaron said.

Rachel stopped.

It wasn't long before Spencer and Lorelai were on their own again after everyone had left.

Lorelai went into the nursery and picked up the stuffed money that was in the nursery and smiled.

Spencer looked in the open door. "Your brother was very nice to give that up."

"I know. It makes me tear up thinking about it." Lorelai said her voice shaky

Spencer put his arms around her onto her belly and kisses her shoulder.

Lorelai smiled. "Don't forget maternity pictures tomorrow. You have to be there."

"I know. I took the day off to make sure." He said

Lorelai smiled and nodded.

They went to bed shortly after.
