Chapter Twenty: True Friendship
Friday had arrived and it was time for Ben's Coronation. Everyone in Auradon Prep and the Kingdom had arrived at the Church, along with Evie, Jay and Carlos. Outside Princess Snow White was hosting her show of the Coronation. The very show that Maleficent and the other villains on the Isle is watching.
"At last, here we are, broadcasting live from the Coronation where Prince Benjamin will soon be crown King. I'm Snow White, bringing you up to the second coverage of who's the fairest of them all!" Snow White smiled "Oh, Fairy Godmother is looking radiant. But what is happening with Jane's hair? And there's Fairy Godmother's wand! Oh, and here comes Princess Vanessa and soon to be King Ben."
There they showed the royal siblings sharing a carriage with Mal and Hunter. Both Mal's and Vanessa's dresses were both designed by Evie with their signature colors purple and red. Ben had worn a blue and yellow suit while Hunter's suit was green and black. As they were riding Ben could tell that Mal was more nervous than ever and tried to comfort her. Vanessa was a little shocked when he said that he wanted Mal to wear his ring. He never asked Audrey to wear his ring when they dated. This was big.
Seeing how serious he was being Mal decided to give him the brownie that had the anti-love spell in it. She and Hunter nearly freaked when he started eating it. Vanessa did her best not to laugh as she knew the truth.
"Uh...Do you… Do you feel okay?" Mal asked
"You bet?" Ben smiled
"Would you say that you're still in...That...That you have a very strong feeling for me?" She asked
Ben looked at Vanessa with a mischief smile and she nodded for him to tell her.
"I'm not sure. I mean, let's give the anti-love potion a few minutes to take effect." Ben smirked
It took a few seconds but it dawned on them that he knew all along.
"What?" Mal asked "Vanessa did you…"
"That you spelled my brother. Normally I would but no, I didn't. But I did give Ben the idea for your date to go to the Enchanted Lake." Vanessa smiled "The water destroys almost any spell."
"Ben, I can explain myself." Mal said
"No, look it fine. I mean, you had a crush on me. I was with Audrey." Ben replied "You didn't trust that it could happen on its own. Am I right?"
Mal glanced at Hunter and he just gestured to her to go with it.
"Yes." Mal said "You are so right."
"So, then what? You've just been faking it since then?" Hunter asked
He shook his head and took Mal's hand as he placed his ring on her finger.
"I haven't been faking anything." Ben smiled at Mal
This made Mal speechless as she was not expecting that. Vanessa smiled before playfully hitting Hunter's arm for doubting her brother. Hunter chuckled before taking her hand and kissing it.
It wasn't long till their carriage came to a stop and Hunter got out first before taking Vanessa's hand and helped her out. Then they walked up to the church first before Ben did the same with Mal. The camera's showed this and Maleficent saw her two children dressed as Prince and Princess.

"Well if it isn't…" Evil Queen said
"My son and daughter." Maleficent gasped in horror. "Looking like some kind of…"
"Prince and Princess!" Snow White said on T.V. "Now let's see who this devil charmer and beauty are wearing?" Someone gave her a card of the designer. "Evie?"
"Evie! That's my...Evie!" Evil Queen gushed
"Someone named Evie designed both her and Princess Vanessa's gown and the handsome princes suit." Snow White smiled
"That my daughter." Evil Queen gushed
"Oh, wow. She sewed a dress. Meanwhile my boy and daughter duped a prince and princess and they're this close to grabbing the magic wand." Maleficent smirked
"Bitter, party of one." Evil Queen scoffed "Bitter, party of one."
"It's happening, people! It's happening!" Maleficent smiled as she rushed to get her spector. "I say, gird your loins! Gird your loins! Villains, our revenge begins today."
They all let out their villainess laugh with glee.

At Auradon...
When the four walked up the stairs Adam and Bell apologized to them for what happened on Parents Day, as they shouldn't have judged them and took sides. Then Mal followed Vanessa and Hunter inside the church and stood next to her parents as they waited for Ben to enter. When he entered the room everyone bowed to him as he walked towards the middle where Fairy Godmother and his parents were. Fairy Godmother bowed to King Adam before taking his crown and placed it on the kneeling Ben's bead. Adam lifted the case that was protecting the wand and Bell handed it to Fairy Godmother.
"Do you solemnly swear to govern the people of Auradon with justice and mercy as long as you shall reign?" She asked
"I do solemnly swear." Ben vowed
"Then it is my honor and my joy to bless our new king." She smiled as she tapped his shoulder with her wand.
Before she could make the finally tap someone grabbed the wand. The person the grabbed the wand couldn't handle it's power. It let out a burst of its own power and it ended up hitting the top of the barrier, making it crack a little.
That someone wasn't Mal or Hunter.
It was Jane.
She wanted to use it to make her look beautiful but she could Vanessa quickly took out her wand.
"Expelliarmus!" She incarnated
The wand flew out of Janes' hand and after feeling ashamed of herself she ran away. Vanessa was about to get the wand Mal grabbed the wand this time.
"Mal, give me the wand." Vanessa said
"Stand back." Mal warned
"It's okay." Vanessa said
"Vanessa, I said stand back." Mal replied
"I told you so." Audrey glared
Mal glared at her and Audrey stepped back quickly. Jay, Evie and Carlos came down to help the siblings out and took out their wands.
"Hunter?" Vanessa whispered
He looked at her with guilt on his face and muttered 'I'm sorry.' It hurt her a little that they were betraying them but she wasn't going to let them take the wand.
"I won't hesitate to stop you. My magic and wand is stronger than any of yours." Vanessa glared
"You really want to do this?" Ben asked
"We have no choice, you guys!" Mal cried "Our parents…!"
"Your parents made their choice. Now you make yours." Ben said
Mal looked at everyone that she got to know and saw how they were pleading for to stop. They had all cared for her, her brother and her friends and she felt the same way. She didn't want to continue down this path.
"I think I want to be good." Mal said
"You are good. You and the others are all good." Ben and Vanessa said
"How do you know that?" Mal asked
"Because...Because we are listening to our hearts." Ben said
"I want to listen to my heart, too. And my heart is telling me that we are not our parents." Mal said and looked at her brother and friends. "I mean, stealing things doesn't make you happy." She said to Jay. "Tourney and victory pizza with the team makes you happy." Then she looked at Carlos. "And you scratching Dude's belly makes you happy. Who would've thought." She looked at Hunter. "Hunter, besides Vanessa you are the best at magic and learning everything about it makes you the happiest I have ever seen. And I know love being around her." Then she looked at Evie. "And Evie, you do not have to play dumb to get a guy. You are so smart. And I don't want to take over the world with evil. It doesn't make me happy. I want to go to school. And be with Ben. Because Ben makes me really happy."
Vanessa and Ben both smiled at this and the witch princess lowered her wand.
"Us being friends makes me really happy. Not destroying things. I choose good." Mal said
She pumped her fist out and one by one they all agreed. All was good until green smoke came out of nowhere and Maleficent appeared.
"I'm back!" Maleficent gloated
"Go away, Mother." Mal groaned
Maleficent just laughed, thinking it was all a joke.
"Here. Wand me. Chop. Chop." Maleficent ordered
Mal tossed the wand to Fairy Godmother but before she could finish her spell, Maleficent used her spector and freezed everyone but the VK's. Vanessa would have too but thanks to her mothers' protection spell it shielded her. Hunter quickly placed her behind him as his mother went to take Fairy Godmother's wand. He wasn't going to let Maleficent hurt her.
"Where shall we begin? I know. Why don't we start by getting rid of this?" Maleficent smirked
She pointed the wand at Mal's hand and the ring that Ben gave her was pulled off her and on to the wand.
"Perfect fit." Maleficent laughed as she walked over to Ben.
"Get away my brother." Vanessa glared
She tried stalking towards her but Hunter and Jay pulled her back.
"Oh. So it's true. No spell on earth can harm you." Maleficent chuckled "But there are other ways to do that."
"I won't you harm her, Mother." Hunter glared
"Oh. Falling in love is weak and ridiculous. It's not what you want." Maleficent scoffed
"How would you know what we want?" Hunter asked
"Mom, have you ever once asked us what we want?" Mal cried "Hunter and I aren't you."
"Obviously. I've had years, and years, and years of practice being evil." Maleficent said "You two will get there."
"No, we won't." Mal replied "And I really wish that you had never gotten there yourself. Love is not weak or ridiculous. It's actually really amazing."
Her answer made Maleficent scowl at them. This made Hunter slowly take out his wand as a spell came into mind.
"I know one thing, young lady. Neither of you two have room for love in your lives." Maleficent glared
"Accio, Fairy Godmother's wand!" Hunter incarnated
With his spell the wand flew right into his hand.
"Hunter, this is tedious and very immature." Maleficent hissed "Give me the want! Give me the want!"
"Hold on, Hunt. Maybe good really is more powerful than evil." Carlos muttered
Maleficent laughed at that and barked him hoping it would scare him but it didn't. Dude came charging at her to bite her but Maleficent just shrugged him off. Jay tried to grab her spector but the dark fairy froze him and felt his muscles before flicking her magic at him.
"Enough! You all will regret this." Maleficent growled
Green smoke surrounded her and she transformed into a dragon. Her target was Jay as she blew fire at him but Vanessa cased her patronus charm to shield him. Ironically it was a dragon patronus but it protected Jay from the fire. Maleficent tired charging at him again Evie used her magic mirror to blind her dragon form. Mal took Fairy Godmothers' wand from Hunter and told everyone to get behind her and Hunter.
"Leave my friends alone. This is between you and us, Mother." Mal said before incarnated. "The strength of evil, is good as none, when stands before six hearts as one."

It took awhile but Mal and Hunter won and when Maleficent blinked she turned into smoke again but when it cleared she was a lizard. With this Fairy Godmother was able to break out of the spell and hurried over to the kids.
"What just happened?" Hunter asked
"I don't know." Mal said
"Did you do it?" Evie asked
"I don't know." Mal said
"No, no, no, no. Your mother did." Fairy Godmother explained "She shrank to the size of the love in her heart. That's why it's so itty-bitty."
"Is she going to be like that forever?" Hunter asked
"Well, forever is a long time. You two learn to love." Fairy Godmother smiled "So can she."
Mal and Hunter looked at each other with a smile and Mal gave Fairy Godmother back her wand. Then Fairy Godmother gave Mal back Ben's ring before unfreezing everyone. When she unfroze everyone both Ben and Adam went into beast mode and Mal went to stop Ben while Vanessa and Bell stopped Adam.
"Daddy, it's okay Mal and the VK's stopped Maleficent." Vanessa laughed
"Really?" He asked
"Really." Vanessa smiled
"Oh...oh okay, let's go." Adam muttered
They walked over towards Ben and VK's while Ben lifted Mal up with happiness.
"Next time, I rescue you, okay?" Ben smiled
"Yeah. Let's not let there be a next time, okay?" Mal smiled and hugged him
She then went to apologize to Jane for putting that outside beauty in her head. When she saw Audrey they had a somewhat truce of understanding. Then she went to deal with the case that they placed on her Mother, Hunter walked over to Vanessa to talk.
"Vanessa...I am really really sorry." Hunter said "I want you to know...on our first date...it wasn't Mission. That was the real me. I really do like you a lot. Please forgive me."
Vanessa looked at him with an unsure look before hugging him and kissed his cheek.
"I forgive you." She smiled before grabbing his shirt with a glare. "But don't you ever do that to me again. Got it."
After seeing her eyes glowed red for a second he gulped, before nodding. She hugged him one more time before they huddled with Ben and the VK's.
"Well, let's get this party started!" Jay announced.

Later that night a huge celebration was held outside of Auradon Prep for their new King and new friends. Everyone was dancing around while blue and yellow fireworks were lit in the sky for everyone in Auradon and the Isle to see.

Vanessa and Hunter broke away from the dancing to get something to drink.
"So...you think you'll be able to handle Auradon Prep for a few months?" She asked
"I think we can live. I'm still looking forward to going to Hogwarts next year." He smiled "Is it as quiet as here?"
"After what happened last year I'm not so sure." Vanessa laughed
"Vanessa. Hunter. Come on, let's dance." Evie smiled
She grabbed the witch princess and wizard hands and dragged them back to the dance floor.
