Hello everyone! It's Merlin, back with an update after a long period of radio silence. If you're wondering where I was, I just started college. That should be enough of an explanation I think heh. Anyway, I'll talk more at the end, just a heads up, I wrote this chapter in third person pov cus I felt more comfortable with it. It will probably continue like that in the future.

Evil.

Monster.

Shigaraki.

Tenko Shimura was a failure. Not only that, but he was also a failure that had hurt the one person who truly stood by him and believed in his dream.

Heroic blood ran through his veins, and yet...and yet all he could do was destroy.

He knew what he had been destined for before he had received the memories of the Other. A rabid beast whose sole purpose in life was to see everything end. To see the world that had wronged him so turn to dust at his own hands.

He was a monster that would never receive love, trust or adoration. Only hate, distrust and fear would be his constant companions.

No one would want an abomination like him around. He knew it to be so. Even now, he could hear bits and pieces of his mother's conversation with the men in black suits that had appeared a day after the incident. They wanted him, and his mother did not seem to be protesting too much. The only reason they hadn't taken him yet was that his mother had not yet finished signing the papers that would give him over to them.

Tenko looked down at his hands, an ugly feeling coursing through his body at the sight of them. He could already feel the horrible need to scratch his neck as his breathing got more and more erratic.

A sudden rage seemed to fill his being as his hands seemed to taunt him with their very existence. It was because of this damned Quirk that he would never be a hero, never be able to look Hana-nee in the eyes, never be able to proudly call himself Tenko Shimura.

He slowly moved his hands so that they would touch each other, dull satisfaction filling him as his fingertips approached each other so that he could finally use his power for good by ridding himself of these disgusting blood-stained hands.

His hands were suddenly snatched away from each other by two large hands that held him by the wrists very firmly, startling him and making his now grayish-blue hair cover his eyes.

Blowing his hair away from his eyes, he glared hatefully at the person that had stopped him from committing the only heroic act he would ever be able to do. The bald man that had been talking to his mother earlier looked at him blandly.

"You hate your Quirk, don't you?" The black-suited man stated dully after a few seconds of them staring at each other.

Tenko didn't hesitate, nodding without a second thought in confirmation prompting the bald man to sigh softly.

"That's fine. You can hate your Quirk all you want, kid." He said. "But don't just throw it away like that. Even if you hate it, it can still be useful."

An uncharacteristic sneer spread across the child's face at the older man's words. "It's disgusting." The boy hissed out, the sheer hatred in his voice startling the officer. "No one will ever find a use for these disgusting hands. They will never be able to save someone."

The bald man felt himself shiver as he looked into the child's red eyes and saw a future that could have been, saw the potential for the birth of the Greatest Villain.

Such an outcome could not be allowed to happen. The Hero Public Safety Commission would not allow such a thing to happen. The foundations of the public opinion on heroics were already shaky enough as it was, despite what many believed. If they allowed the birth of a godlike monster such as the one he had glimpsed in his Quirk-induced vision, it wouldn't just make the fragile world of heroes they had created collapse, it would make the entirety of Japanese society collapse on itself.

"You may not believe that these hands will ever save anyone..." The bald man started. "But we at the Hero Public Safety Commission believe that you can be a great hero. We will train you to be one of the greatest protectors of hero society." The suited officer said with conviction.

Tenko had stiffened in surprise at the knowledge that the man was from the HPSC and not some crime family that wanted his powers. He knew that the HPSC wasn't really much better than a crime family with the stuff he knew they did from his Other's memories. But...perhaps...it was better to have someone hold his leash rather than let himself run wild, he thought.

Tenko looked up at the government official, a hint of childish hope returning to his blood-red eyes. "Do you really mean it?" He asked weakly.

The bald man looked at the pitiful form of the child looking at him with such a frail hope and felt himself die inside as he knew that the child would be destined for a life of suffering for the greater good of the people. And yet...

"Of course. You'll be an amazing hero."

He lied to him as easily as he breathed.

A/N: So, Tenko is in the hands of the HPSC. Will they actually turn him into a hero or was it a lie? You'll just have to wait and see! If you guys have any questions just write them down in a review or PM and I'll be glad to answer them as soon as possible. (I'm still waiting for someone to try to guess what the pairing will be btw)
