"Whatever, you don't know anything about me," Arizona stated, as Callie rolled off her, and onto the bed. She was exhausted from their intense sexual workout.
Callie placed her hands behind her head and nodded. "I know more than you think Arizona Robbins. Born in 1999. Lived here your whole life. You are named after your grandfather who served in the USS Arizona. You attended North Lincoln High School and Martin Community College. You've been working for your father since you were thirteen, you've had one girlfriend and were pretty much a loner. Oh, and you can't keep away from my dick. Anything else I miss?"
Arizona scoffed. "Oh Please, I can keep away. You can't! I am lesbian for god's sake. The idea of your dick doesn't fascinate me ...?"
"So what does?"
"You don't have it in you to give it to me." Arizona challenged
"Try me" Callie had a clear idea about what Arizona was referring to and that piqued her interest more. She watched as Arizona's form flushed and a pink blush creeped up the skin around her neck.
But Arizona quickly shrugged the feeling off and changed the subject.
"And besides, I don't have a criminal record, so how did you pull all of that?"
"I have people who keep me well informed." Callie added
"Still doesn't mean you know me though. And what about you?"
"What about me?"
"Tell me something about you."
"Calliope Torres. I'm a successful business woman. End of story."
"How about something I don't already know," Arizona said, wrapping the covers over her naked body.
Callie pondered for a while and then added..
"I remembered you from when I went to visit your father that day in his restaurant. You were wearing that burgundy shirt and short, tight khaki shorts. Yeah, yeah, I checked you out. You looked like a deer in headlights when I glanced at you."
Arizona didn't believe Callie. She couldn't have remembered her. Arizona had barely gotten a glimpse of her that day, before Callie entered the kitchen with her scared father.
"Was my hair up or down?" Arizona quizzed.
"It was down and you had it pushed away from your face with a headband or whatever they're called," Callie answered.
Arizona couldn't believe it. How the hell could Callie remember that? She had remembered Callie, but it wasn't every day that you got a woman like Calliope Torres walking into your restaurant. Maybe Callie probably was just really observant, because she had barely spared a glance at Arizona then.
"Are you leaving tonight?" Callie heard Arizona ask in a small voice as she had bent down to pick up her shirt. She looked at Arizona, wrapped in her sheets. She tried not to stay over too often, in order not to give Arizona the wrong impression, but some nights, she would be so exhausted, she couldn't help it. Callie thought Arizona didn't care either way, but her look was hopeful. Did Arizona want her to stay? Callie knew they had been getting along, but she still doubted that Arizona actually wanted her company. Callie thought Arizona more or less tolerated it.
"Do you want me to?" Callie asked.
Arizona slid the sheets above her breasts until they reached her chin. She slowly nodded her head. She did want Callie to spend the night. She watched as Callie stared at her for a moment, as if deciding what to do. Then Callie dropped the shirt and flopped back on the bed.
Arizona knew not to expect any type of cuddling, but just knowing Callie was there and not running out made her feel less like...well, less of an 'arrangement'.
"Goodnight," Arizona whispered to Callie. She hugged her pillow, not really expecting a response. Callie didn't like anything sentimental. But as she was scooting into her sleeping position, she heard Callie say it.
"Goodnight, Arizona."
Arizona was still on cloud nine from meeting one of her favorite actresses. She had seen most of her movies, and when Callie had told her she was throwing the actor's thirty-third birthday party, Arizona flipped. She was so excited! Callie had shut her club down for the private event. Apparently Callie had grown up with Addison Montgomery, Hollywood's most sought after actress these days, and the two had stayed close throughout the years. Callie and Addison's brother Archer Montgomery were also 'business' partners. And even during Addison's speech, she thanked Callie, because for one of her best roles as a tough, street-smart girl, she had copied Callie's behavior from when they were kids. Addison then went on to imitate Callie's cool demeanor and Mexican accent, and everyone laughed. It was a pretty good impersonation. And when Callie finally introduced Arizona to the birthday girl, she was smiling from ear to ear. She tried to shake her hand, but Addison pushed it aside, and grabbed her for a big bear hug. But after about five seconds, Callie jokingly started to pull Arizona away... she also didn't remove her arm from Arizona's waist until after the conversation had wrapped.
The music was amazing, and Arizona danced with groups of strangers most of the night. She had tried to call Callie over to dance with her, but Callie waved her off and continued to conduct a meeting in a dark corner of the club. 'She can't even have fun for one night without doing business,' Arizona thought.
"So, how long have you known Callie?" Addison asked, sneaking up behind her. Addison handed her a drink. Gosh, she was beautiful, Arizona thought.
"Um, not long. We're just friends," Arizona said, sipping her drink.
"So, since you're just friends, does that mean you're open to 'other' friends?"
Arizona couldn't believe Addison was hitting on her. She was gorgeous and could probably have any girl in this club. "Um, I g-guess," Arizona stuttered, and then quickly took another sip. She didn't know what to say to Addison, and she was eyeing her up and down.
"Good, here's my number. You should call me sometime, beautiful," Addison said as she jotted her personal number down on the back of some card. She handed it to her, right as Arizona felt arms wrap around her waist.
"Hey," she heard Callie say behind her. But she wasn't talking to her, she was talking to Addison.
"Hey Callie! Thanks for the party, I enjoyed."
"Glad you did," Callie answered, but Arizona could feel Callie's arms tighten around her and her voice sounded distant. Then she felt Callie rest her head on Arizona's shoulder from behind and embrace her….like they were a couple. She felt Callie's cool lips against her skin, as Callie lightly kissed her neck. Arizona couldn't help it, before she could even think, she closed her eyes, loving the feel of Callie's body against her back. But then she quickly opened her eyes to see Addison, sipping her drink, looking really uncomfortable. Addison tipped her drink and went away.
"Nice to meet you," Arizona yelled after her, before Callie pulled her away. "Callie, that was rude," she whispered to her. Callie just yanked the piece of paper from Arizona, ripped it up and deposited it in the trash can before she took her hand and led her outside, where a limo was waiting on them.
Was Callie…jealous? Of her own childhood friend? Arizona shook that thought as soon as it came in her mind.
"I have a surprise for you," Callie said, when they got inside. Arizona kept asking what it was, but she just told her to be patient. But it was about a thirty minute drive away, so to keep her mind from wandering, she decided to teach Callie a game.
"Okay, you place your hands on top of mine and you have to look me in the face. When you think I'm going to hit your hands, you remove them, okay?"
"Alright."
Arizona waited two seconds and then smacked Callie's hands.
"Ow, what the hell?" Callie asked, looking at her.
"Callie! You're supposed to move your hands. Okay, you try to hit mine instead," Arizona offered, placing her hands on top of Callie's.
Callie still looked puzzled, but Callie just stared her in the face.
"Ow!" Arizona screamed, as Callie's hands smacked hers before she could even blink. "That hurt!"
"Hey, you're the one that picked this pointless game," Callie said as she smacked Arizona's hands again.
"Oww! Stop hitting me so hard," Arizona pouted as she shook off the light sting on the back of her hands. "Besides, this is my secret way of getting all of my aggression out on you," she smiled.
"Yeah...how's that working for you," Callie smirked as she smacked Arizona's hands again.
"Shit! Stop it!" Arizona shouted as she tried to land a punch to Callie's shoulder. But before it could connect, the limo shifted and she fell on Callie, straddling one of Callie's legs in her jean clad legs and flowy blue top. She tried to quickly push off of Callie, but Callie grabbed her waist in one hand and her ass in the other.
"Now, if you had told me this was the endgame, I would have played it a long time ago," Callie joked, as she kissed a trail from Arizona's earlobe and down her neck. Arizona tried to move, but Callie's grip tightened on her waist as she pulled Arizona closure..
"Aah!" Arizona squealed, but her body involuntarily started dry humping Callie's leg.
"Damn, Arizona! Callie whispered.
"We're here, Ms. Torres," Alex said through the speakers. Callie gently pushed Arizona back and pulled her out of the limo, before they got too carried away and forgot why they were here.
Arizona searched around to see if anything looked familiar. But they were parked in a back alley. Callie grabbed her hand and led her inside a building and through the back hallways. Everything was so dark, but when they reached a set of double doors, Callie whispered for her to close her eyes. She shut them tight and followed closely behind Callie into the room.
Underneath her eyelids she could see the room getting lighter. She waited for Callie to signal, and Arizona felt Callie get behind her, just as she did in the party and licked her earlobe as she whispered for Arizona to open her eyes.
When Arizona looked around, she couldn't believe it. She sucked in a breath. Was this Tiffany's? She was surrounded by so many diamond ornaments she couldn't believe it.
And the store was empty? Callie has closed down Tiffany's for her?
Arizona had never walked into a store like this before because she knew she could never afford anything in it. The paper they print their receipts on was probably worth more than she had in her purse at the moment.
The way the light sparkled off of each piece of jewelry, lit up the entire room very brightly. When she finally came to her senses, she realized there was another man standing in the room. A short, tiny man with thick black rim glasses.
"Hi Ms. Torres. Always a pleasure," he said, while shaking Callie's hand.
"Thank you, David, likewise. This is Arizona," Callie said, placing her arm around her waist. "Arizona, this is David."
"Nice to meet you," Arizona whispered, still a little in shock.
David smiled at her and turned to Callie. "May I, Mam?" he asked, while reaching for Arizona's arm.
"Sure. Arizona...pick out anything you want. I'll be over here," Callie said, while she stepped to the side and pulled out her cell phone to look nonchalant and busy but her eyes were trained on Arizona.
Arizona moved inside the store, she looked back at Callie, then at the jewel cases. This was too overwhelming.
"It can be overwhelming," David said, as if reading her thoughts. "Let's start with this," he suggested, while placing a thin chain with a sparkling diamond heart around her neck. Arizona looked in the mirror at the beautiful necklace wrapped around her neck. How many women would kill to be in her shoes tonight. In the reflection of the mirror, she saw Callie leaning against the wall on her cell phone. She was dressed in a bluish-grey sparkling top and pair of jeans and her signature long black boots. She was so beautiful and good looking, that at the moment, this all seemed like a dream. Arizona focused back on herself in the mirror. She stared at her reflection for a while, as she tuned out David's voice. Who was this girl looking back at her?
She heard Callie's phone ring and her picking up the phone as David moved to show her more ornate and intricate designs of necklaces, rings, earrings and what not.
"Edwards, I'll be there. Aren't I always? Just make sure our figures are straight. And tell Jimmy-," Callie started, but stopped when he noticed David standing in front of her. "Hold on, Edwards. Yes?" She said to David.
"Um, sorry to interrupt , but she said she doesn't want anything."
"Come again?"
David wiped his brow. "She said she doesn't want anything," he repeated.
Callie looked towards Arizona and found her standing by the door, looking at her. "Edwards, I'll call you back," Callie said as she clicked off her phone.
Arizona watched as Callie walked toward her. She braced herself. She knew that Callie was probably so pissed at her for throwing her gift back in her face. But she just couldn't accept it. Not this time.
"What's wrong," Callie asked.
"Nothing. I just don't want anything," she whispered back to Callie. She stood there staring at Arizona for a few seconds. Then Callie turned and walked back over to David. "Thank you. And sorry for wasting your time," Callie said as she shook the tiny man's hand.
"Not a problem at all, Ms. Torres. And please let me know if there's ever anything else I can do for you."
"I will, thanks," Callie said as she walked back over to Arizona. She held the door open for Arizona, and they walked back down the hallway. Alex opened the doors to the limo and they got in. Callie sat leaning against one door, while Arizona sat leaning against the other. Both were deep in thought and neither said a word the entire trip back to the loft.
When they entered, Callie removed her leather jacket and turned to Arizona. "I'm tired, so I'm going to lie down for a few minutes before I have to go." Arizona nodded her head, and Callie turned and walk to the bedroom.
Arizona stood by the bar, just thinking about the night. What a strange night. A few weeks ago, she wouldn't have cared...she'd actually probably be glad...but now, she felt like shit that she had hurt Callie's feelings. She should have just taken something small, but something was keeping her from doing it. Pride? Or something stronger than pride that was telling her that this isn't the way. Stand your ground and in the end you'll get what it is you really want from her. And what was that? Her...love? Arizona shook the thought from her head. She had too much nervous energy to go to sleep. So she crept into the bedroom and saw Callie lying on her back with one arm covering her face. She walked into the en-suite balcony, tiptoed out and shut the door.
The sun was about to set and as a cool spring breeze touched Arizona's body, she shivered and wrapped her arms around her body. A few weeks ago she was enamoured by the view from this very balcony and now this balcony was like her peace space. She always came here to clear her mind.
She was in the middle of her thoughts when she heard the balcony door open and slam shut. She jumped and turned around to find Callie staring down at her. She looked pissed.
Arizona looked up at Callie as the setting sun casted an golden glow over them. She pushed her hair out of her face and waited for Callie to speak.
"Why did you embarrass me tonight?" Callie asked, narrowing her eyes at her.
"Callie, I—I didn't wanted anything…," Arizona said, crossing her arms over her chest again.
"It would have been just a gift…you have accepted my gifts before"
"This…this didn't felt right"
"Why?" Callie asked again
"Because….because I'm not for sale", Arizona said as she matched Callie's stare
Callie scoffed, because a gift shouldn't have made Arizona uncomfortable. The look on her face said that she wanted to dispute that fact. And Arizona wanted to smack that smirk right off her face. Because…how dare she!
"I'm not, you arrogant fool!" she screamed at Callie.
"Sure," Callie said as she stepped closer. She was pissed and she didn't care if Arizona got pissed. This woman has not only embarrassed her, but has hurt her.
That was it.
Arizona didn't mean to as hard as she did, but she pushed Callie away, and slapped her. You could have heard that smack from several rooms away. Her hand was stinging and she could see the red mark slowly creeping across the left side of Callie's face. Callie stared down at her, and stepped closer again, and Arizona slapped her, again.
Arizona was quivering, her emotions running rampant. She didn't know what these emotions were but it were causing her to shake. As Callie took another step closer, she slapped her again.
And slap after slap, she kept on hitting Callie until Callie had enough and held both of Arizona's wrist and pulled her closer.
"Look at me," Callie said, gently lifting Arizona's head up. She looked into Callie's face, with tears threatening to break free.
"Why didn't you want anything from Tiffany's?" Callie asked again. Arizona just shrugged.
"Yes, you do. Tell me," Callie demanded.
Arizona felt trapped. Callie wouldn't understand. But she decided to put it all out there for her anyway. Everything that she had been thinking about it. She was sure she'd regret it, but here it was.
"Because some things aren't for sale. And I realized the more you gave me the more I was willing to accept things about our arrangement. But I can't do that anymore, Calliope."
Callie sucked in a breath. This was the first time Arizona has used her full name and it felt like music to her ears. She look deeply into Arizona's eyes as Arizona continued…
"Material things aren't going to make me forget that I'm here because of seventy thousand dollars my dad owes you. It's not going to make me forget that you can and have humiliated me for your own amusement. What kind of person would I be if I lived like that, even if only for a few more weeks? I appreciate you offering, but I'd rather not have those things and keep a little self-dignity, than to be draped in them and accept the fact that you won't even kiss me on the mouth because that's not what you want from me and-," was all that Arizona got out before Callie's lips came crashing down on hers.
Arizona's eyes immediately widened and then closed with the feeling of Callie's warm, wet lips devouring hers. She wrapped her arms around Callie's neck as Callie pulled her closer and held her tightly against her. For once, Arizona felt special. Even if this was all fake and didn't mean anything, this kiss was still all and more than she thought it would be.
Callie's head was swimming. Everything about this girl was different than any other she had known. Arizona's words washed over her and gave her chills. Callie was praying Arizona couldn't see how much her words were affecting Callie. How much she was shaking. And when Arizona mentioned the kiss, her mind shut down and something else took over and screamed for her to kiss Arizona right then! And her lips...they had been torturing Callie for weeks, and then they felt so soft against her. Callie's tongue was wrapping itself around Arizona's as she licked every corner of Arizona's sweet mouth. Callie was tightly gripping Arizona's body, because she didn't want Arizona to pull away. Not now. Not with her feeling the way she did at this moment. Callie wanted to be as close to Arizona as possible. And screw the circumstances, but she didn't want to let go. Ever.
As oxygen became a necessity, they pulled apart, both breathing heavily and took a step backward from each other.
But then Callie proceeded to approach Arizona again and gently tucked her strand of hair behind her ear. Arizona was already feeling the goosebumps, and could sense the heat in the air. The balcony was now bathed in the evening golden sunlight that crept in through small cracks of clouds. Complementing this were the cute twinkling yellow fairy lights that personified the presence of fireflies that are usually seen as the sun sets down. It was almost the perfect essence of spring, with the warm sunlight, and the two lovers signifying two sunflowers that bloom towards one another.
Callie then went ahead and placed her arms on Arizona's waist once again, this time in a softer embrace, with Arizona simultaneously guiding her soft palms around Callie's neck that was twitching out of anticipation & excitement. Both of them leaned together towards each other as if their souls were linked and heartbeats were synced. Arizona's pink tender lips met Callie's again, this time in a tender way that sent an quiver down her spine, with a rainfall of endorphins & adrenaline all inside her mind.
Pure bliss. Pure heaven.
The firecracker of that kiss continued with both the lips merging with one another in a kiss that was so much more than the intimate moments that they have shared. Callie's warm moist lips were like nectar, which lathered and drenched Arizona's lips, which were now red as a cherry because of all the sensitive touches. Her tensed back was being pulled impossibly closure, as Callie swayed her hands all over Arizona's back. It was the slowest that Arizona had ever experienced time passing. Her mind was playing songs for her, just as if bees were buzzing and birds were chirping, as she felt Callie's hands caressing her back and ruffling her smooth, soft curly hair.
The two pairs of lips continued their sloppy rendezvous as Arizona's mouth then opened wide to welcome Callie's tongue to caress her own. Both of them were breathing each other's aromas and the sweet scent of their wild, rustic, sweet union.
She was quenching her legs around Callie's, which was met with equal reciprocation, enthusiasm and initiation. The kiss was then broken for a big gasp of air by both of them, as they breathed to calm their racing hearts and red flushed faces. The longest, deepest stare was then followed, as two souls went into an oblivious attachment. It was twilight by now, with the cool breeze cooling down their bodies and minds.
