I Don't Own Percy Jackson
[Accomplishment: Pledged Soul: Completed!
A human has seen just how strong you are, and somehow thought you were an entity to pledge their life to through some means or another to a name you have given yourself, in this case, The King, now referred to as The King of Darkness, by your first loyal follower. As ridiculous as it is, apparently someone thought you worthy of it... So congrats.
+1,000 Exp!
-Follower System Unlocked!]
[Notice: You will gain exp according to the worth of the soul pledged for any further such actions regarding you]
Huh...
So...
That's a thing...
Sorry, normally I'm a bit faster than this on the uptake, but that's normally because everything I get from the system is from me actively causing it to happen, so this is kind of a first in terms of just how insane what just happened was.
Still, I was still sitting, chilling next to Marchy, who was currently reading over the long and very elaborate contract I had written up on the back of a playmat I had got at a restaurant as a joke for Nico a few weeks ago. After all, technically not a demon or not, March was a deal maker by nature after spending a few thousands years down below, and I was not in the mood for them to try and think to out smart me, so I just wrote of a list of terms and stuff before hand to streamline the process.
I was glad about it now to be able to have time to do some thinking about what just happened, as I opened up the new system and just looked it over, it was... interesting, and broken up in a way that made it hard to put in text format, so I'll just describe it.
Firstly at the top there was a total icon with a number '1' next to it, which I'm pretty sure means the number of souls pledged to me, or, well, 'The King of Darkness', which was so fucking edgy that I wasn't sure if it was actually cool or not yet. And under that was a... profile I guess, with a picture and name of my 'follower' who was just some dude in what looked like his thirties. With a short blurb about the guy and his life that I could open up to get more information on, for... some reason.
Next to that was three bars stacked on top of each other, listing in order as 'Loyalty', 'Fear', and 'Adoration'. All three were about half way filled, which was... something.
And honestly that was it, that's all there was to it... It was honestly not that much, just seemed like another way of getting exp I guess... Maybe if I get a lot more followers then I get something more out of it then? That would make sense... I think... It would make sense I guess, given that I'm a demigod, and all Greek Gods get their power from being worshiped by the masses and since I'm kind of somewhere on the way of just being a god, kind of, according to Dionysus, maybe having followers is just par for the course?
I wasn't really expecting it mind you, but that's still something to think about for future reference in terms of being able to get a power up... Though that also means basically starting a cult, and am I interested in having a bunch of weak willed humans worshiping the ground I walk on?
...Yes, the answer is yes, just... yes, that sounds very tempting and something that sounded very fun. But... I can work on that later, when I'm actually on par with the gods, because that sounds like something Zeus would get pissy about.
So, Imma just ignore it for the time being while I make some plans on how to best make use of this new discovery.
"This is quite well written, I wasn't expecting something like this from a being such as yourself" Tilting my head over to look at March who was still staring at the contract, I just shrugged.
"It was a pain in the ass to be honest, I'm a smarty pants, but writing and reading isn't really my strong suit" Reading demonology books to find out about March in the first place was a pain in the ass, but was pretty worth it to be honest with this being the end result. Though actually learning about the specifics from that one demon about how to manage the wardings and other such things was pretty important which was why we had to do this whole scavenger hunt thing.
"I see... Still, I believe these terms are acceptable, shall the deal be struck?" I could feel the way the Fallen's magic reached out to try and bind me, it was kind of weird, but I just grinned and looked back and said.
"Sure" And enforced my own Oath to be tied to him, binding him to the deal as well, I could practically feel the slight surprise from the Fallen, but it quickly turned to a grin on the Wolf's face, and just like that-
[Notice: Bond [Fallen-Angel Contract: Marchosias] has been formed]
[Adriel: Oh, hello there!]
I just smirked as I watched as the Fallen froze as I felt the bond solidify in my chest right very my soul, as I felt our terms and agreements of what we could do with and for each other take hold, it was very strange.
"What was that?"
[Adriel: More of a who. I'm Adriel, Nick's Spirit Guide and your new roommate. Nice to meet you]
March just turned to look at me and asked again, slightly more demanding.
"What was that!"
I just laughed a bit before going about my way of explaining just what all this was about.
It took a bit of explaining, but the Wolf seemed to come to terms with it quickly enough as we went over some simple ground rules as he, yeah, he, though apparently the wolf was female in sex, but he was a guy who could make himself look like a guy if he so chose, which was a bit... random, but I really couldn't say anything about it, but the point is, he's a he. So... He seemed to grasp everything quickly enough and just spent a while looking through my stuff though he couldn't really interact with most of it.
Technically, but in the end, as we both healed up enough to be fine, as I stood up, I just grinned as the wolf stood and moved before, in an instant, seeped into the ground and then merged with my shadow, as I looked down at him, and grinned as I watched as from my own normal shadow, spilt off an formed the form of what looked like a wolf-like head that was grinning, before merging back into my own shadow once more.
That was part of the deal, he could to be able to control my own personal darkness when I wasn't making use of it, so he could hide himself effectively while also being able to protect me with his own mana by using this shared darkness so I could work on other such things.
In turn, I also got a few things from him as well, since he got access to my darkness, and as well as access to seeing my soul to use said darkness, I could in turn use some of his own abilities, or more accurately said for my system, I got copies of said abilities, and as such leads us to the following:
[Scrying] Level: 1
The ability to picture a place, item, or person within your mind that you are familiar with and being able to either gain information about them that might not be known, or to be able to see their location in real time.
Cost: Base 5,000 Mana, varies in more or less depending on familiarity on location/person/item.
[Notice: Your Control stat counts as a phantom modifier, for every ten points of Control, [Scrying] acts as if it is one level higher than presented here]
[Divine Presence] Level: 1
The ability to let your divine power be released in a aura around you, allowing you to greatly weaken unholy and evil forces around you, weak bodies might be harmed by simply gazing at your form if powered enough.
-Can also be used as a powerful condensed wave of force powered by a divine shove capable of causing great destruction when used to it's full power.
Cost: Base 1,000 Mana, greater effects will occur the more mana used
[Notice: Your Power stat counts as a phantom modifier, for every ten points of Power, [Divine Presence] acts as if it is one level higher than presented here]
[Unholy Smite] Level: 1
The power to force your own Divinity into a singular powerful point of near corruption channeled through your near demonic companion, allowing for a single devastatingly powerful strike that is extremely effective on both holy and unholy creatures.
Cost: Base 5,000 Mana, greater effects will occur the more mana used
[Notice: Your Power stat counts as a phantom modifier, for every ten points of Power, [Unholy Smite] acts as if it is one level higher than presented here]
[Limit Infernal Hell Pyrokinesis] Level: 1
You have the ability to now create and control flames from hell, stronger than any normal fire could be. Though your ability to control and create them are limited given their corrupted nature, you can still find a use for it... probably.
Cost: Varies based on level of skill and desired effect
[Notice: Your Control stat counts as a phantom modifier, for every ten points of Control, [Infernal Pyrokinesis] acts as if it is one level higher than presented here]
Cool right? I thought it was, Scrying was just a real cool power to have for not having to do as much leg work in the future, as well as I'm sure it'll be hilarious to be able to use it to fuck with some people later on. While the other abilities were honestly just really nice to have, I mean, Unholy Smite is probably going to be an incredible finisher attack against any gods I'll be killing in the future, and Divine Presence is just a really fucking strong AoE attack, it's what March used to just blast apart everything, though I managed to block it to the point it didn't hit me to debuff me, it'll be very handy in the future against those I want weakened.
While the fire one was kind of... well, shit. With the sun literally in the palm of my hand, I honestly really didn't need that skill, espcailly since it was a limited one, like, sure, it wasn't that bad, it had a cool color scheme to it, but my Divine Flames were just stronger and I could make as much of them as I wanted, though control was based solely on my stats since it was an item and not a skill that let me make them, but, well, it's sun fire, I didn't really usually need control, just more fire to deal with whatever was causing me trouble. So yeah, it was kind of useless for the time being.
Past that, I got March to answer my question as well, and as such, texted the answer out to Rick, you know, about why the demon activity was so high lately. It was obvious, I already knew from the start, but it completed my quest finally so that was nice, didn't give me close to enough exp to level up, but I already knew it wouldn't be much.
Anyways, if anyone was still curious, it's because of what's happening on the Greek side of things, the titans awakening and again and going for another war has kind of kick started another resurgence of religions and mythologies. I've already talked about this before, so I won't go into to much detail, but it's just basically like being at a bridge and seeing that one idiot friend jumping off and somehow peer pressuring everyone else to follow him.
In this case, that idiot friend is Kronos, which, I think, is a very fitting description to be honest.
Anyways, now then, this Scrying ability is actually very helpful, I hadn't known I would be getting it, but I'll certainly take it, makes things a bit quicker for me now that I don't have to do as much leg work in being able to track down just where Pro-
"Nick!" I was promptly nearly side tackled as I moved out of the way, mostly on instinct as Nico flung himself at me, as I blinked and looked over at him as he tripped on by me in his miss as I blinked before realizing that, right, I did in fact have a small child with me. Oops, it kind of slipped my head to be honest that he was around, ADHD and all that.
"Oh hey Nico" Nico managed to spin around in time to manage this time to tackle hug me, as I just blinked and looked down at him as he hugged onto my chest tight for a long moment before pulling away and pointing angrily at my face.
"You should have come and got me when it was over! I was worrying you jerk!" Ah, right, I probably should have done that.
"I was a bit busy talking to my new friend, say high to March, he's real friendly" I leaned my head downwards, while Nico just blinked in confusion before doing the same, only to jump in surprise as he watched as my shadow twisted and contorted into a massive demonically creepy smiley face, I just waved down at the Fallen before glancing up at Nico who was just looking confused, before just sighing and shaking his head.
"So it went well then?" I gave a large smile and a nod, while Nico just sighed, looking around for a moment before asking, "Are you sure? This looks like... something that didn't go well. Are you ok?" I blinked before finally turning about to look around...
Oh, right, I kind of destroyed literally every building around me while I was fighting March. From where I was standing I could already see at least... five, maybe six full warehouses that had collapsed and a solid dozen more that there heavily damaged and who knows how many past that that weren't in my view.
"We should probably leave before the cops show up huh?"
"No kidding?" Nico was getting sassy, I appreciated the effort.
"Well let's get going then! I think one police chase is enough for me for right now, besides I'm already linked to enough acts of terrorism already"
"Yeah, whatever, let's just get out of here... Where are we even going next anyways?" I just hummed at that, as I thought it over. We were in Spring at the moment, the start of it at least, about a week in March last time I checked, aka ten minutes go on my phone when I was texting Rick, which was honestly hilarious given my recent actions of fifteen minutes ago.
So, a few months until the whole, fourth book, thing takes place, so that's probably enough time to finish up one more plan. I was thinking about getting more murder in, but I also wanted to keep Nico reasonably safe, plus we've been away from camp for a long while now to be honest, and I wouldn't mind heading back to both drop him off and talk for a bit with everyone for a while... Still... Murder... Yeah, I can finish up the one I was planning on working towards next anyways, so...
"We're going to a mountain to kill a titan to see if I can just, like, become god from it" It was nice to know that I could still shock Nico as he just gave me a long, concerned look, before saying in a slightly shrill voice.
"WHAT?!"
"What?" Nico didn't seem to have much of a thought going on in his head, as he yelled out right after.
"WHAT!"
"What?" Nico did not seem to be doing good as I felt the confused mild concern rolling up from my shadow as I figured I might want to explain... Nah, this was funnier.
Max, my 'follower', was a... interesting dude, I looked in on him on occasion over the next week that I spent mostly with hanging out with Nico since the kid deserved a break, and, well, movie nights were going to happen no matter what and March's confusion about the 'picture shows' was hilarious to listen to. He hasn't been top side in a few decades apparently.
Anyways, Max was real into some creepy shit, he was the first to really get into the being a follower of the King of Darkness, a title I still wasn't really sure about, but some of the others in his little group joined in soon enough, and well, cults are basically a social club built around peer pressure, so the others followed suit quickly after that, so now I'm standing at a proper nine souls tied to me, none of them gave anything over a few hundred points of experience because they were all little weakling humans, but I wasn't expecting much anyways so I let them be...
Ok, that's a lie, I fucked with them a bit and was giving...small encouragements to just see what would happen, after all they're the ones that put me on the pedestal, it's kind of my right to play god just a little bit. Though most of it was just for the learning experience, to see just how the three scales moved about by my actions. Max was the main target, seeing how he would react if I moved an object around his room a bit when he wasn't there, or how he would react to a nightmare I inflicted on him with a bit of Mist control.
It was interesting, his loyalty spiked a bit the second he realized what I was doing, as well as his fear, though his adoration stayed in place for a while, but after he converted the last of his group, I figured it would be fitting to give him something, so the next time he arrived to his home, a shitty box apartment, he found a large pile of cash on his table that was only slightly covered in blood.
I mean, I'm a demon lord or some shit to them right? I kind of have to be scary and weird! Anyways, his Adoration and loyalty skyrocketed after that, which was a bit weird since, like, it was only a few hundred bucks, but whatever made the humans happy I guess.
I did that yesterday and from the time to time that I checked in on him he seemed to have doubled his efforts in wanting to spread my 'word', whatever the hell that meant since I've literally only ever said two words to him before, but he was doing what he did and I figured I'd give it a bit to see what all he would manage before I interfered and gave them some direction.
It'd also give me time to think up a better title, cause, I mean, any name can be given power if it is the speaker who chooses to use it, and I think I can come up with something cooler and less inherently edgy than darkness, even if it is, like, my primary power and ability that I use for stuff. Thoughts and all that for later.
Right now me and Nico were doing some climbing, just up a small mountain, nothing big, it was only a few miles tall! I had to walk down a worse one on foot after nearly dying once, so Nico really didn't have anything to complain about, though he still grumbled a bit whenever he thought he could.
We could have just teleported up, but... nah, that was boring and I wanted to make sure Nico was about as good as he could get from his training trip, and that meant not taking the shortcuts. Even if they were admittedly kind of tempting, but I was made out of will power, so climbing we did.
March had exited out of my shadow and was working on protection detail at the moment, hovering around us and killing off any monster that tried something, while I coached Nico on how to climb and making sure he wouldn't fall to his death or anything like that. There were more monsters than one would think to be honest, but it's also a single mountain in the middle of no where, it had taken us like, two weeks to get all the way here without the convivence of shadow travel, so we were the only mortals in miles, and since it's us, we were like a homing beacon.
It was fine though, I had March let a few slip past on occasion and let Nico flail about for a while, trying to multitask on not falling to his death while fighting off the monsters. It was very effective in my opinion, Nico seemed to just want to stab me by the time we took a break, but he was kind of in a heap of exhaustion so I figured I'd be fine.
"So... we're about half way there, I figure another day or so and we'll be at the top" Nico let out a long groan before slowly shifting up onto his butt to sit properly as he gave me a long look before asking.
"You still haven't actually answered me on just why we are here, killing something sure, but... What? You said... But that would be ridiculous" I just hummed as I looked up at the summit of the mountain where the one I was looking for stayed, and said.
"No, that's what I'm planning on doing if the fucker doesn't do what I want him to, though I might not have to kill him, I figure I'll need to in the end or at some point later on but maybe not right now depending. Don't worry, he's not an important one or anything, so no big consequences a far as I can tell"
"That... shouldn't be your basis for what divine entity you should or shouldn't kill"
"Oh don't worry, it's not"
"Then, what is your basis?" I just hummed to myself as I looked over the area we were in as I watched as March slammed what looked like a gryphon reject into the side of the mountain cliff so hard that it's body was embedded into the earth.
I gave the she wolf a thumbs up and March just grunted before leaping off and slamming into another monster, dragging it into the ground soon after. Fuck that was so cool.
"Wait... Please tell me you have a basis for killing titans and literally gods Nick" It must be awesome to be able to shape change, I should totally learn how to do that at some point once my preset body is fixed to be the way I want it. The idea of running with my wolf buds, with Lupa and maybe even March if he gets along with them, that sounded really nice.
"Nick? Nick! Why aren't you answering me!" I really need to visit Lupa again, technically I've faced off a titan so I'm allowed in New Rome, it's just I haven't had the interest in going over there yet to be honest, though I know I need to, it's just somehow managed to place itself low on my list of things to do really. I mean, I've mostly just been looking into being strong enough to kill gods, and, sure, I'm like well on my way there, this whole mountain climb was proof of that, but still.
In an actual one v one I'd be smacked straight through the earth until I died, so not quite there yet. I mostly just need to toughen up my body, my bones have a habit of breaking like kitkats and for as how durable I am, it never really seems to do enough to keep me from being hurt, it's just my regen rate usually meant any injuries' I take are hardly ever actually threatening. I really do need to look into getting that up though, maybe some better gear as well.
Hence another reason we were on this mountain.
This was my grand plan after all, or at least it had been, before the thing with the Fates, this had been the moment I was working towards being strong enough to manage, and I honestly was probably only just there to be honest. Atlas had been my first test, and I honestly might not have enough strength to pull through the sheer amount of force needed to kill a titan... At least not by myself, but I had a gun chambered in forty-five Atlas express.
And that should carry most of the issues off me at the very least.
Anyways, yeah, this point was something I thought it would take me nearly up until the final battle in New York to be able to do. I was beating my own schedule a bit to be honest, killing a titan a solid year before I thought I'd be able to, but I certainly wasn't complaining, this just meant I have even more time for even more ideas that I had rolling around in my head that March would no doubt help me out with.
"Nick! Answer me damn it!" I moved to stand up, stretching a bit uselessly, before proclaiming.
"Right, let's get back to climbing!" Nico did not look amused, I couldn't imagine why though. Did I miss something?
"What is that? It's massiv-" I pulled out my handgun, aimed, and blasted the vulture out of the sky before Nico had time to finish his sentence, as the booming blast of force echoed off the mountain side, shooting forwards so hard I could feel my wrist tremble a bit from having to take the brunt of the recoil as my shoulder sort of bounced in it's socket in a decidedly painful fashion, as the bullet flew through the air before slamming into, and then straight through the wing of the bird with enough force, what was left in the spot where the bullet had hit, was a beach ball sized hole through the wing as the bird screeched for about half a second before it promptly exploded into dust.
"Well whatever it was it's gone now" Nico just stared up in the air where the bird had been before just sighing.
"Gods you are terrifying" I felt a faint shudder come from my shadow in what I think was agreement, which was fair, March hadn't really seen me using my weapons before, because I hadn't been looking to actually kill the Wolf when we fought, because if I had, then the Fallen would have been killed in probably under a minute, riddled with bullet holes. I didn't want that, so March hadn't exactly gotten to see just everything I was capable of.
I think it scared the shit out of him that I just had god killer levels of equipment just around my person. Apparently things like Divine Damascus Blades, which was the heaven equivalent of Celestial Bronze, Imperial Gold, etc. were incredibly rare and only the archangels and a few select warriors were allowed to carry them because of their ability to kill just about anything.
So it was a bit of a culture shock to him that I just had, like, a dozen blades of the same properties on my person, and two guns that fired titan infused godkiller bullets. It was funny in my opinion that March thought he really had a chance, but that's besides the point!
We were quickly nearing the top as I stopped just before the peak, reaching out and picking Nico up before he could reach the top as well, as he let out a soft annoyed whining sound that I was more than used to given he was like a funny little kitten at times as I turned him about so I could look at him and said.
"Stay here with March alright? You don't really need to see this, plus I have... things I need to do" Nico pouted but didn't say anything as I set him down as he just huffed before dropping on his butt to sit around and wait as March pulled himself out of my shadow and just sat at attention, looking around just in case there was any threat. He was adorable. I was turning to leave when Nico spoke up once more behind me.
"Are you sure you won't need the two of us?" I blinked and turned around, seeing Nico's slightly worried face, before he continued,, blushing a bit out of embarrassment, "It's just... This isn't some demon you can just throw around right? This is a titan, what if something happens?" Aw, he was worried about me. I leaned over and just gave his hair a ruffle to which he pouted at as I gave him a big grin before saying.
"Don't worry about it alright buddy? It takes a fucking lot to put me down right? I'll be fine alright?" Nico was silent for a long moment before nodding, giving me a short smile before looking away, as I nodded once, giving his head a pat before moving to walk away.
Then, just as Nico's guard went down, the ground underneath him opened up as the demigod made some kind of sound of shock, but it was to late as he fell into the darkness, where he would be spat out right at the entrance of the Camp. March just bounded forwards an in an instant merged into the shadows created by my cloak as I felt myself let off a soft sigh before turning away from the spot.
I almost felt bad about it, but Nico couldn't have hoped to have survive what I was about to do.
With that I walked up onto the summit of the mountain, a flat surface that I had already seen once when I had done some scrying to find the titan that I had been looking for, and now here he was, tied to a massive block of what looked like Celestial Bronze, with chains thick that my entire body linking his arms and feet to the four corners, where the titan of the hour laid.
Prometheus, the Titan of Forethought, stealer of the first flame, the first trickster, and the creator of man, laid bare with nothing but a ruined blood soaked tunic covering his massive form, laying easily five to six times my own height and at least that many of me wide. His sides where his liver would be, showing the skin there slowly repairing itself, getting ready for it's next round of torture by the vulture I had shot down moments ago.
I just strolled on ahead, not doing anything to mask myself, it wouldn't matter, I shot off a round up here, and it must have echoed for miles, there was no way Prometheus didn't know someone was here, though he didn't seem to interested in moving his massive head to see who it was. Simply put, he didn't seem at all worried about anything, as he laid there, only finally tilting his head as I approached his face.
Honestly, if anything, he looked pleased to see me, it was interesting, as I leaned down a bit my body's entire length wasn't even enough to truly cover even his face, but we still just shared a long look, and I recognized just what was on his face after just a moment of consideration.
"You know why I'm here" The titan just grinned.
"Of course, I am the Titan of forethought, I can see and plan through anything, you are no exception, as exceptional as you may be"
"Aw, I'm flattered... So you know why I'm here then" The Titan merely gave a quirked eyebrow.
"To kill me of course, though I'm sure we both can be reasonable and talk this through" I nodded, sitting down next to him as I said calmly enough.
"Of course, I figured we'd be able to come to some sort of deal at first, though I'm sure we both know that I'll probably kill you later on once you try to break our deal" Prometheus merely huffed.
"And why would I want to do something like that? You have become blinded by how simple minded my fellow titans and the gods are. I am a bit more complicated than that"
"Most of the gods like to think so, but at the end of the days they all really just share the same traits, just lightly flavored in different directions" Prometheus smirked, before rolling his head away to look up at the sky, before continuing on.
"Perhaps, but that is because most aren't me. Prideful as it might sound, I am not one of divinity who looks and admires the past, it is much to stifling like all other gods do, change is for the best, it is why I've devoted my interest in your little human race, seeing how they progress and change the world in ways that the gods themselves couldn't hope to be able to do, to stuck in their old ways to even think of trying"
"For all the good it did you" Prometheus gave off a sharp nearly angry snort at that, before seemingly calming himself as he spoke once more.
"Zeus, Kronos, it matters not to me, nothing will truly change no matter who is in charge, because it is the humans, and their beliefs that now give us all power. My creations have bound this pantheon to their unknowing will to have to protect them, whether or not the titans or the gods want it so, they can never allow the humans to go extinct, and as long as my creation lasts, so to will I for no titan or god would kill another. You have another thought on the matter though" I just shrugged.
"The world is comfortable with the gods, and they can change, they just don't want to. I figured I'd be a good agent to get that change to occur, to be fair you're probably right, nothing would really change, no matter who is in charge of the Greek pantheon, but that doesn't mean I'm willing to lay down and die before I get what I want, or for my demigod friends to die as well. I'd rather just kill every single last titan and god that gets in my way" Prometheus let off a short huff before turning once more to look at me.
"You are an interesting one, Nicolas King, a true agent of change, in all ways. You will do many great and terrible things, I'm sure of it, and all of it will work towards the advancement and continued survival of the human race. And that is truly all I care about. Well, that and my own comforts and continued survival of course" I nodded, before smirking.
"And I suppose this is where the deal will be coming in?" Prometheus let out a short near booming laugh before nodding.
"Of course, if you wished you could kill me here and now, and perhaps that would give you the power you needed to do whatever it is you wished, but if you instead free me, and allow me to instead give you what you desire willingly, then we both can get what we want and make a deal that might just help both of us for the foreseeable future" I hummed as I leaned back before saying.
"And how do I know you're speaking the truth? Your entire thing is tricking powerful beings, Zeus being the main case here. You're a trickster just like me, I don't even know if I can sense your lies"
"Hmm, you are wise then, to not just take me at my word, but you will perhaps just have to trust me for the two of us to get what we want" I just hummed, Prometheus was an interesting person, I knew he really didn't care who won, he really did just see it all the same, the only reason he will join the titans in the future is to escape his imprisonment and because he thought they actually had a good chance of willing, but that was before I came into the picture, and now...
It was quite the decision to have to make here isn't it? I leaned back and gave it a long bit of thought before-
[Notice: Perk [Wit of Socrates] has been activated!]
My mind exploded into thoughts moving ten times they normally went at as I looked over everything I knew about this person, everything I knew about the current state of the war, and everything I knew that might be relevant given the situation at hand. I did this until the boost ran off a minute later before coming to my decision.
"Agree to my Oath for on if you try and break your word, then you will be unable to take back what you have given to me. We can have a fight to the death afterwards if it's really needed, and that you will not try to harm me until the end of this whole fuck fest with the other titans. Deal?" The titan stayed still for a long, long, moment before finally nodding.
"That is acceptable" I just grinned as-

How fun!
Right then, let's go in order here...
[Prometheus' Full Blessing]
You have made a deal with a powerful Titan allowing you an incredible boost to your divine blood, as Prometheus grants you the full power of his boon to you.
-You now gain an additional, per point in Power, 25 Mana. (This will update to match total level)
-You now gain an additional, per point in Constitution, 30 Stamina. (This will update to match total level)
-You gain 10 Points to all stats every ten levels. (This will update to match total level)
-You are now immune to Fire
-You now take ten percent less damage
Huh, cool, so that's... well, a lot of stat points across the board, seventy to all of them which is pretty damn good, and my Mana point situation has just fixed itself, considering I now have just a little under forty thousand points in Mana now, which is like, fifteen thousand more than I had a few seconds ago, and a bit over thirty thousand points in stamina. So that's cool.
Now then, new skill time!
[True Pyrokinesis] Level: 10
Your ability to create and control flames has no limit no matter what form they take, sun fire, infernal fire, normal, or otherwise it doesn't matter, you can create all of them with the same ease, as well as the power to control any other flames to your content.
Cost: Varies based on level of skill and desired effect
[Notice: Your Control stat counts as a phantom modifier, for every ten points of Control, [True Pyrokinesis] acts as if it is one level higher than presented here]
Ah, so it's just an all in one skill, it's neat, but I'm more a darkness kind of guy, and by that darkness just has way more applications but this was nice, it fixed the complaints I had about the infernal fire skill I just got not to long ago. It's just a handy strong AoE blasting magic to have, which is kind of fun since fire is awesome, but it's still never really going to be my go to choice.
Well, time to do what I said I was going to.
[Notice: Perk [Endurance of Atlas] has been activated!]
"Well, good doing business with you" With that I stood up and moved over a bit, before humming cheerfully as I pulled out my gun, aimed it right at Prometheus' head, smiled just as the titan opened his mouth, his eyes opening wide in shock, as I pulled the trigger and watched as the bullet shot inside his head as his entire body twitched and writhe as I watched as godly godlen light broke out around his skin as it tried to repair the damage.
I just laughed and pulled the trigger again, and then again and again, as the titan screamed out his questions of why and pleas of mercy, I didn't really bother listening.
His form began to break into light soon after, as I watched as it tried to escape in one last futile effort to escape his soon approaching fate, but this was a punishment created by Zeus to be able to hold the Titan no matter what he did to try and escape, and that meant he was at my mercy, as I fired and fired and fired, until the gun clicked empty, with fifteen rounds of titan infused Stygian Iron lodged in the titan as his body spasmed with golden like cracks breaking out over his entire form, holding himself together but with a clear strain beginning to show itself.
I just grinned and then reloaded.
It took longer than I was expecting, but as with one final bullet and one final scream the entire mountain burned bright white as his form exploded, and with it launching me back with enough force I nearly blacked out instantly.
It was only because of my cloaks incredible defensive nature, the resistance I just got to heat, and my damage resistance cranked up to fifty percent, that I didn't instantly die to be honest, as the shock wave shot me off my feet, as I was flung through the air. My vision blurring out hard for a long moment, before my regen rate finally kicked in enough to fix the brain damage, as everything came back into focus, barely.
I was in the air, not falling thankfully, but on the back of March, as I blinked a few times, before giving my Fallen friend a pat on the side as I looked out ahead as I looked at the mountain front of us that we had spent the last two days climbing, now crumpling to pieces, the top of it looking like a nuclear bomb had gone off, most of it had been flatten and reduced to dust.
I managed a grin as I slowly moved to sit properly on the wolf's back without interfering with the wings to much, as I said softly.
"Thanks for the save March"
"If I hadn't gotten you out of there a half a second faster you would have been reduced to dust" I just shrugged, before saying.
"Well, then thank you twice" He just huffed as I smiled for a moment before nearly fainting again, the aftershock was a fucking pain.
"Why did you choose to kill that titan? To prove you could?" I laughed a bit and said.
"Nah, you'll see"
And just like that, it happened, I could fucking feel the weight of the exp pressing me right before it happened.
[Accomplishment: Godslayer: Completed!
Well, congrats, you've done it, you've killed a literal god, sure it wasn't a fair fight at all, but it never really is for you now is it? Fucking hell, I hope you know what you're doing, because this is going to cause shit to hit the fan.
-5,000,000 Exp!
-Status Effect [Divine Killer] has been applied!
-System [God] has been unlocked!
-5 Divine Points have been granted]
[Notice: 7,500,000 Exp gained for an titan kill!]
[Notice: 22 Divine Points gained for a titan kill!]
[Notice: You have gained 24 levels!]
[Notice: Stat increasing Perks have been applied multiple times!]
Ah, now that's the good shit.
Righty, lets look this over and...
[Deity Killer]
All those of magical nature can sense the divine blood on your hands, even if they don't quite know why or what it is, they can tell you have killed the unkillable.
+500% increase in effectiveness in terms of intimidation.
+50% damage to all beings that are considered a form of Deity.
[God System:
This is a system that you have gained access to by taking parts of the divinity of another powerful being and have been able to distil it into points which you can use to gain powerful boons and abilities. You gain these points by killing gods, or by gaining an incredible level of devotation to your name, so they aren't easy to get, but they are incredibly powerful, though the cost for each is different depending on the strength of the boon.
Divine Points: 27]
Huh, wasn't expecting that, but cool! Let's see here...
[Divine Stat Boost]
You can spend one Divine Point to increase one chosen stat by the same increase as using twenty normal stat points.
Cost: 1 Divine Point
[Limited Divinity]
The divinity in your blood isn't your own, it comes from those that have come before you in your family line, but that doesn't have to be the case, you have gained a spark of divine power that is truly your own. This is the first step to gaining your own domains and not being limited to the whims of the gods around you.
Cost: 5 Divine Points
[Divine Radiance]
You are now able to temporarily break your body into pure power to be move like any god would be able to, damaging the weak around you that see your new true form.
Cost: 5 Divine Points
[Limited Fire Domain]
You killed a titan who had a domain over fire itself, of course you aren't nearly strong enough to truly claim this domain for yourself, but you can at least give yourself access to it for the time being while you work on something greater.
This grants a 50% increase to all fire based skills, and a 25% decrease in their costs.
This also sets any fire skills you have at twenty automatically, and level up 3x faster.
Cost: 15 Divine Points
[Divine Control]
Your divine strength and control over your powers allows you to preform minor miracles and other such things, creating minor supernatural effects or creating simple and cheap items at the cost of a fair amount of mana.
Requires Divine Boon: Limited Divinity.
Cost: 25
Those were the ones I could afford at the moment, it was wild all the same, the rest were greyed out, since apparently I needed to have enough to pay for it to be able to see them, which was fine. Anyways, the answer was easily enough, I reached out and picked Limited Divinity and felt... Something shift in my chest, it wasn't much really, just... a change, like something just moved into place that I had never noticed before, settling into a more comfortable position.
That was neat. I also grabbed Minor Fire Domain, since it was clear as fuck given recent events, no matter my own protests my fire powers were going to constantly get stronger and stronger, so might as well accept it at this point and make it my fuck you move. That one was... interesting, like, really interesting, it was like I had just been plugged into a network, before, because of my insanely high Umbrakensis level, I could sense and feel shadows around me, but this one was... Something else.
For one, True Pyrokensis just shot up and was now around the same level as my darkness skill, and for another, I could literally... feel the heat in the air, not quite tangle, but it had some kind of... feeling to it, it just was like another sense, like hearing or taste, was just unlocked in my brain and now I could just feel the heat around me. It was pretty strange, but also kind of cool. While as for the others...
Sure, Divine Radiance would be cool as well, but it really just wasn't needed, and the Divine Stat Boost just wasn't required at the moment, I already had over two hundred points I wasn't using already, I didn't really need them at the moment, especially since my stats just shot through the roof by, like, a hundred points.
Actually, here, just look at this.

Cool right? I'm, like, really fucking powerful now, almost like killing a titan is something that gives a massive amount of rewards, who would have guessed?
I would have done this before, way back when, but like, I wouldn't have been able to survive that, the only reason I was able to live it this time is because March was there to, in the split second that was between the explosion and my instant death, to teleport me away with my own darkness, otherwise I would have just been fucksploded to atoms. It's why I got March before this so I had someone who could react while I was doing my murder thing.
"You are stronger now, much stronger" I just laughed a bit and nodded as I leaned in a bit towards March's face and said.
"I just killed a titan, it wasn't for nothing because I get a fraction of his power in return"
"Then why ask for his blessing before hand? Why make a deal you knew you would end" I just huffed at that.
"The deal was he would never hurt me, I never said anything about hurting him, and I was always meaning to kill the guy. He's the first trickster after all, if I didn't do it then I have no doubt he would have had some plan once he was free. Plus if a God gives their blessing to someone or thing, that blessing doesn't just go away after they die, it lingers, so..."
"So you not only got the blessing from a titan such as that, but you also were able to steal his own divine power from him through killing. You are ruthless, you would have made a powerful enforcer in both hell and heaven" I just laughed at the clearly almost awe and respected tone of his voice before saying.
"Ah, you fatter me March... Come on, let's land, I'll Shadow Travel us back to the Camp where I sent Nico, it's about time you meet my friends I think" March just huffed, but didn't say anything more, as we shot down to the ground as I just laughed and jumped off my wolf friend's back, my cloak shimmer for a moment before bursting into white wings as I glided down to the ground as I let out a long booming laugh, my chest was honestly pounding from what just happened.
I did it! I killed a fucking titan! Three fucking years of work and I managed it! Who gives a shit if he couldn't fight back, I still fucking did it! If I kept this pace up, Kronos would be fucked! The last few months have just been so fucking good after the shit that went wrong with the Fates, I was feeling on to of the world, as I zoomed to the earth as I let out another long cackling laugh with a whoop as I glided to the ground, my wings splayed out on my back as I drifted and landed with a heavy thud into the earth.
This... This was really fucking awesome.
Walking into Camp was nothing new for me, as I just hummed and looked around for a while, seeing everyone moving around as I moved about, there was a number of people who saw me and stared, but I kind of looked all kinds of cool right now, and also fucked up, my face was kind of stained with my own blood from the divine explosion. I didn't really care much about that though, as I strolled around.
Mostly just waiting for-
"NICK!" That! Turning just in time to watch as Nico flung himself at me, only not in a hug this time as I moved out of the way of his fist as he tried to punch me in the face.
"Hello! Do I know you stranger?" He just growled as I snickered a bit before he just froze for a moment, glared at me, before simply pouting while turning away with a huff. I just blinked before frowning as I watched him walk away, cause... what? "Huh? Hey! Nico?"
My shadow extended outwards, stretching inhumanly long, in front of the path Nico was walking and in an instant I had moved through the darkness and appeared in front of him, already speaking to get his attention back on me.
"Hey, so-" He just walked on right past me as I felt my voice let out something close to a low whine as I pouted before quickly moving to follow after him, "So, uh, where are we going?" Nico didn't say anything, just kept on walking, as I just fidgeted about and continued to follow him, trying to get his attention, but I must have been invisible because he just continued to ignore me, because that had to be the only reason!
I mean, I'm me! Why would anyone ignore me like this!
"Come on! Nico! Nico! Nico!" I was whining, I didn't care, as he walked straight into the Hermes cabin and promptly slammed it in my face. Well that's just mean!
"Nick?" I blinked before spinning around with a massive grin on my face as I turned to face the unimpressed looking Silena.
"Silena! My friend! So goo-" She just sighed and turned and walked away as well as I felt my grin freeze and slowly break off my face, "Hey! It's not nice to ignore people you know!" I followed after her as she just kept on walking, before finally she stopped, turned around, looked at me, her eyebrows furrowing for a moment, clearly sensing something was off about me now, before finally saying.
"You're going to keep this up until I respond right" She didn't say it like a question, we both knew the answer, I was not good at being ignored, especially when I had so much I wanted to talk about! So in the end she sighed, briefly before just smiling and said, "It was Nico's idea, just to mess with you when you sent him back. He's pissed about that by the way"
"I totally did that for him though! If I didn't teleport him here then he would have gone and committed die!" She just rolled her eyes before saying patiently.
"Ok, try to explain that to a ten year old who you forced to climb a mountain and then teleported away right before his big brother figure sent him away before fighting a fucking TITAN" Silena sort of half shouted that, as about a dozen eyes turned to look as me, as I just blinked before asking, just to make sure.
"Are you, like, angry about that?" She made this strange strangling motion with her hands before flinging them into the air.
"No! Of course not! My best friend only tried to kill a titan with no back up, probably barely a plan, and probably because you just felt like it! Why would I be angry!"
"Uh..." I really didn't see why, like, come on, this isn't the strangest thing I've done, besides, "I mean, there was no try, I did it, but alright" That seemed to freeze whatever she was going to say in it's tracks, as she paused for a moment, turned, looked at me, and I could see the moment she connected that feeling she got from looking at me to my actions, as she just paused, took in a long, deep breath, before saying.
"What the fuck"
"I shot god in the face" Metaphorically, technically, and literally. Silena just let out a long whining hiss, like air was escaping her body, as she reached up, and slowly just rubbed her hands down her face like she was trying to not have a break down, it was quite confusing. I don't see what was so hard to understand here.
"What?!" Oh, she said it again, so I just shrugged.
"I shot him, in the face, with my gun... Multiple times in case you were wondering. It took like three full magazines which is pretty respectable to be honest given just one of these bullets can kill just about any creature. Oh, that reminds me!" Pulling my gun out from it's holster, I just absently ejected the mag and tossed it in my side bag to reload later as I pulled out another magazine from said bag, and promptly reloaded my gun before putting it back into place, "Ah, that's better!"
"You... Ugh, you're going to get killed one of these days" I just shrugged.
"Eh, that won't do anything to stop me" She reached out and smacked me on the chest, I didn't really feel it, but it was the thought that counts, or something like that.
"You're fucking... ridiculous, come on let's get moving then jerk! I have some questions for you!" I just let myself get dragged along, grinning to myself all the same.
It was nice to be back after all the shit I've been up to.
And doubly for the shit that was going to come.
This was an... interesting chapter to write, there are going to be some damn clear repercussions soon, you can't just kill a divine being like a titan without some shit going down, but... At the same time, it's just what Nick would do at this point in time when given the chance, and given everything that's been happening, it's just the right way to go about it, after all, the last half a dozen chapters have basically been a massive series of power ups and that's for a good reason. The way this kind of system works in this world setting is very... exponential in growth, I knew that from the start, but basically, once things get going, they fucking go. The exp gains just shoot up because Nick is killing bigger things and doing bigger and bigger quests, and if I kept this going to to long, then it just becomes annoying that Nick has so much power and does jack shit with it besides show off on occasion.
Especially since this is Nick, who can't go a few weeks before doing something fucking insane, it's just now he's reached the point he can do more and more insane shit, and given he started this path off by talking to Hades, Lord of the Underworld, well the insanity really just spells itself out, plus Nick is full on beginning his ascension to proper godhood here folks, because he can only be a demigod for so long given his raw power, still it's not going to be fast at all since he'll need, like, hundreds if not thousands of Divine Points to get there, but for him to be able to do some of the end goals of this story, like getting back at Nyx, then he fucking needs to be on that level bare minimum. Plus, I also already introduced the 'cult' system as well this chapter, so it only makes sense to do it all at once so it isn't just spread out all over the place. Still, shits going to be wild soon, since Nick is now long past the point that any demigod has ever reached, he could honestly probably kill a minor god at this point with the right set up.
Though not to get that twisted, Nick only managed to kill a titan here because he was underhanded as fuck and had literally a multitude of backup plans and a way to escape the blast radius, with the titan literally unable to fight back from the Oath. It was a perfect situation that Nick never would have been able to do to anyone else. So while this is a showing of just how far he's come, remember for the time being he's only mortal and would get fucking murked if he tried to do anything fairly or one on one. Anyways, See ya.
