Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Grim Reaper and Supersoldier. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own VK, Sega, Ryutaro Nonaka and Shuntaro Tanaka do.
Gabriel was quiet at the moment, unsure what was going to happen next when it came down to it. The message was clear to the entire group at the end of the day.
"So, they're going to war, we should step up!" Gabriel stated while he crossed his arms as he sighed and then started to shake his head.
He rubbed at his temples. Gallia needed every soldier they could get. It was one of the few times that the group was set upon something, eager to make a difference more than anything at the time. Gabriel looked at Riela who was busy twirling her fingers once more than anything. She was clearly curious as to what the draft was going to bring to the table more than nothing.
Gabriel stayed silent while he rubbed his head and then started to think for a moment. If people joined? They'd be slaughtered, but none of them knew that, they were children…
"The empire will hurt us…" One of the groups stated while she pointed to the notice board.
"Yeah, and we should stand up to them." Gabriel stated while he turned to Riela. "Ri, don't you think we should fight back? The empire is going to push us back if we don't stand up to them." Gabriel added with a raised eyebrow with a moment as he hummed.
Gabriel was quite quiet. She knew for a fact that Gabriel wanted to fight, he always wanted to fight someone that was picking on someone else. She liked that about him, nothing she was going to say would make him back down from this course of action.
"Maybe, but is that the ONLY reason you'd want to join?" Gabriel heard Riela asked which caused him to nod in agreement as he slowly started to pick through the papers.
"Yeah, it will give us people to bond with." Gabriel said, pointing at the map as he nodded.
He looked over the paper, slowly starting to read once more. Gabriel was interested in what the rest of the military was doing, if there were more soldiers on the battlefield? Gabriel guessed this war going to be big considering there was DOZENS of soldiers already signing up.
"Are you sure you want to join though at the moment?" Gabriel heard from Riela.
"Yeah, there's only so much you can do when you're not on the frontlines, Ri." Gabriel stated as he cracked his fingers. "Jimmy, what about you? Don't you want to stand up to these guys? I stood up for you before." Gabriel stated while rubbing at his temples with a sigh.
The group scattered, split on if they wanted a future filled with constant fighting and such. It was NOT an easy choice, but it was one they were going to have to make regardless. Gabriel turned to Riela who seemed to toy with her hair as they walked. A defense mechanism that was brought upon by stress. Not something he could really do anything about currently.
"I know a few others who want to join up, you know." Gabriel stated, flicking a finger at the ceiling. "I'm not the only one interested in doing it if you want me to be blunt and just come out and say it." Gabriel stated while he brushed off his jacket.
Riela sighed, knowing exactly what Gabriel planned on doing. She had been in similar talks with her friend and there was NO talking things out with Gabriel when he made up his mind at the end of the day.
"Do you seriously plan on joining the army just because they want people in it?" Gabriel heard from Riela as he turned and nodded to her. "And what if they try and shoot you? You know they will, you're going to end up getting killing or something." Riela added to which Gabriel slowly rolled his eyes at her as he started walking further.
"Yeah, and we're going to end up shooting them, Ri." Gabriel stated while he cracked his fingers, curious as to how this would go at the end of the day.
"And yet you want me to come along…" Riela said as Gabriel stopped for a moment.
What was there to really say at the end of the day? He didn't want Riela to think that he was really advocating for violence against the empire… But he also wanted her to know that he was not just going to sit around when push came to shove and things started to heat up around their home.
"I'd be ok with my friend helping me if that is what you are asking me when it comes down to it." Gabriel stated as he shook his head and started to think at the moment.
He was quite interested while he thinking while he hummed to himself once more.
