A/N: Set in S02E06.
Martha watches as the police officer approaches Clive outside the courtroom. Right now, he'll be telling Clive that Jodi was in bed with his brother's wife at the start of that night last June, when he was supposedly playing pool with Billy.
Suddenly Martha is gripped by fear. She knows what happens to the people who cross Jodi Farr. If Clive reveals Jodi's affair with his brother's wife in open court, could Clive be in danger? She wants to run up to Clive and tell him not to use this, not to give Jodi a reason to hurt him…
She calms down. Clive knows how dangerous the Farrs are. He can make his own decisions. Maybe he won't use this new information. Maybe he'll let Billy's fake alibi stand.
Yeah, right, she thinks. Clive wants to get silk on the back of this trial. He won't ignore anything that could help him convict Jodi. He wouldn't listen to her even if she did try to persuade him to keep quiet, would probably accuse her of trying to sabotage his chances of winning this case.
She turns and goes to get ready in the robing room, cursing Clive, Billy and the entire Farr family.
