Summary/Disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Grim Reaper and Supersoldier. Enjoy the 2000-word chapter. I don't own VK, Sega, Ryutaro Nonaka and Shuntaro Tanaka do.

The sound of bags could be heard as their users were busy packing as they frowned. If it was anywhere else? They'd have rules against the conscription of certain soldiers in this army.

In Gallia? They were allowing everyone who was interested into the armed forces. The war against the empire scared them enough for them to discard their morals. Still? The building cared enough for their safety to both want one of the older children to accompany them… And for someone to adopt them. They needed a nice home for when this war ended… If they survived it.

It was almost enough to make them laugh considering they were still rolling their eyes. The children were well enough to know they probably wouldn't come back from the war, to begin with. If one had to deal with that? They'd either develop sarcasm to deal with said choice or they'd start to resign themselves to their fate in life.

Gabriel started to zip up his bag while he cleared his throat. The army was already sending someone to pick them up. They

didn't like the idea of adopting someone from what he heard, he didn't doubt it.

'To the army? Children without families were probably perfect weapons. We don't have people who will miss us besides the others in her group. They also don't have to pay for us or anything at the moment. I somehow hate the army and wonder if they planned something like this.' Gabriel thought to himself as he shook his head.

He was greeted by a knock on the door which meant that she was there. Gabriel sighed and mentally wondered if she joined because of him. he wouldn't put it past her to put him on the same level of concern she had for herself.

If she had? Then it wasn't exactly what he wanted. Gabriel was a lot of things; he knew he wasn't exactly the most perfect.

'I'd never ask Rie to be in the army.' Gabriel stated mentally before the knock was followed by a voice.

"Gabe? They're here." Riela stated while he frowned.

"Already? I thought they wanted to wait before they showed up." Gabriel stated while he cleared his eyes. "Damn, they're earlier than I expected. Rie? You, ok?" Gabriel asked while he started towards the door.

Riela was silent which wasn't good news. If she was mad? You heard almost nothing from the woman which meant a myriad of things to him. it didn't bother him, if she was disappointed in him, though? It might as well have been a bullet in his case.

It hurt the same. He didn't want to bother her and yet he knew she had some reason to be done when it came down to it. She wasn't someone who wished to be in the army. She didn't want something such as her friends to be murdered in a shooting gallery. She was a nice friend when it came down to it.

Still? Gabriel didn't wish to stay here when it came down to it. this place wasn't somewhere they'd be leaving behind anytime soon and it made him want to best test himself.

"Is it wrong to want to do something with your life at the end of the day?" Gabriel asked his friend who didn't seem to know the answer. "Because in my defense? If we head to the army? At the least? We get something from it rather than sitting in here waiting for something to happen." Gabriel said before he cleared his throat and sighed.

"I don't want to stay somewhere where I can't do anything rather than try and help people who can be helped. Is it wrong to think that way?" Gabriel asked with a raised eyebrow as he did so.

Still? They were entirely ready for this mission one way or another. She didn't need to like it, yet he wanted her to at least try the idea when it came down to it. There were a lot of ways this war could end without some dying or such. There was no real place in the army for soldiers who wished for peace, not in this war at least.

"Are we ready to go?" They heard from the door as both shared a look. "The truck is heading out in 10 minutes with or without the people who are here. There's going to be plenty of missions like this if your scarred and want the truth." They also heard as another look was shared.

"Are you sure you want to get mixed up with this? We both know what happens to people who get sent out there." Gabriel stated before he ran a hand across his temples.

Riela said nothing and moved towards the door. A smart man like him didn't need his brains to realize she was mad but had her mind decided. Any thoughts or problems were to be pushed to the side sooner or later. This had still bothered him, but he had little to say. She wanted to be part of this battle whether or not he agreed to it. That was a very hefty price on his soul if he was honest to see her turn into this… But if it was to be this way? She'd deal with it as properly as possible. There were more flaws in this, to begin with, and he didn't entirely like the options. There was only so much he could do to sate that part of her when it came to it.

'We're orphans, she has family that will miss here. Who the hell besides her is going to miss me when it comes down to it. She was honestly not made without reason. I did make this choice rather stupidly without really thinking it through. Still? I want to handle this and nip it in the bud as of the second

the moment. Oy, she is going to kill me sooner or later, I just know it.' Gabriel stated before he rubbed his temples.

He was well aware of what was coming his way, well aware. There would be worse things than simply this war and the fallout of the others at the end of the tunnel. Still? He resolved to fight all the same. He wouldn't back down, he wouldn't stop and be able to handle this.

He was curious as of the second what to do next. There was more interest in the operations. He rubbed at his temples before he tilted his head to the side.

He grabbed his satchel. He sighed to himself before finally shaking his head and walking out. He looked around the room before he glanced around.

'This place had been my home for years. I'm kinda sad to see it go even if it comes down to it. I'll come back when this is done, offer some money. It's not their fault what happened to me.' Gabriel stated before he rolled his eyes and he shook his head.

He hummed as he walked towards the front door where his ride waited. His ride which would take him far from here… This bothered him. He was honestly curious at the time about what would happen to this place.

He looked at the door before he sighed and glanced around the ship as he tilted his head.

He watched Riela and another one of the people here while he slowly walked towards the door as he continued to glance around the room.

"It will be sad to leave. My grandmother said she'd still pay for the next rent." Riela stated before she sighed and looked at Gabriel as he approached the door. "We were both curious as to what to do next at the time," Riela stated as Gabriel sighed.

"Thanks, Ms. Rao," Gabriel said and seemed to stare down at the floor. "If you need anything? I'll pay for it. isn't like we're going to need all of the pay for life after the war." Gabriel stated as he rubbed at his temples.

Ms. Rao looked at the two. A sweet elderly woman who probably wouldn't live for long after the war. Her golden eyes always seemed to shine like stars in the light when it came down to it. There was a lot more at the time which made him curious as to what the woman was capable of. She seemed to know something to a degree.

She was a lot more hopeful as to what to do next. She looked at him with a certain gleam in her eyes. It made him tilt his head before he leaned to look around.

He was honestly confused about what this woman was doing. He tilted his head before he rolled his eyes.

"Riela, take care of your friend. We both know that there will be more problems that need you." Gabriel heard from the woman.

He smiled to himself as he shook his head and stared at the woman in front of him. He had been curious as to what the hell would come next at the time when it came down to their future.

"Are you both going to mess with me?" Gabriel asked with a raised eyebrow as he seemed to smile despite this, interested in what they'd offer next.

He'd sigh to himself all the same before he hummed to himself. He was going to be interested in what to do next. He was honestly curious as of the second. He'd roll his eyes to himself as he clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth.

He was honestly curious as to what this held for him and her. There was going to be interesting for them, they had been soldiers when it came down to it.

Still? He couldn't stay here as of the second. He rubbed at his temples while Riela slowly trudged out the front door with him. It was a lot more on the moment as he sighed at the second.

The truck from before slowly pulled up to the door, opening its back door to allow them onto it. They had been ready for this for a while as the vehicle slowly slowed to a crawl which told them they'd be here no longer than a few minutes. It was something that had been bothering them to no real end despite what they had been through. Then again? They weren't used to the war and the training both would endure when it came down to it.

"We're going to need to be ready." Riela and Gabriel heard from one of the soldiers as he tilted his head before he tilted his head. "There was a lot more as of the second. The recruits had been loaded up before it came down to it." The soldier reported to which the two looked at each other.

It was going to be a really interesting idea at the time. We were going to be hopeful while he pondered while he sighed to himself. He sighed and looked at the soldier before another 2 students climbed into the craft.

He was going to be interested in what to do next as if the second. He was honestly going to run his hands through his hair before he tilted his head to the side. He was honestly curious at the time and hopeful the military would be better for both of them.

Then again? They were going to be soldiers; they hadn't known when it came as of the second. This had been an odd experience for them. Gabriel sighed to himself before leaning back into the tailgate of the truck.
