Hey, everybody. Back with another chapter.

So, we'll finally see the FF in action in this chapter, and their first team up with the Flash.

Let's get to it.

Guest: On Earth-1, yes. This is Earth-99. In this, Johnny Storm is Ronnie's Earth-99 doppelganger.

mmat: Well, Reed is considered a leading expert in this field, and he has no idea who Barry is, so his arrogance or feeling he knows better isn't too unexpected. After the events of this chapter, he'll be a lot more humble when he realizes he was wrong.

Chapter 4- The Fantastic Four

Barry sighs a bit as he walks down the streets away from the Baxter Building. He wishes that Reed had been more open to Barry's warnings, but at the same time, he can understand why Reed was dismissive. Apparently, according to what he's learned about Reed, he's the leading expert in this whole area, and he knows nothing about Barry, so it's not terribly surprising that he didn't take Barry seriously.

Barry sighs again, then notices hot dog stand up ahead. Feeling a little bit hungry, he walks up to the stand and asks the vendor, "Four hot dogs, please." The vendor looks a little intrigued that he wants four hot dogs for himself, but hurries getting the hot dogs for Barry.

In less than a minute, the vendor holds out the hot dogs to Barry. Barry smiles and hands him the cash as he says, "Thank you." He then walks over to a nearby bench and sits down to eat.

Not far away, a masked man looks across the street towards the office buildings, in which he has hidden a bomb. He holds up the trigger device and says, "Now, I will finally have my revenge on the men that wronged me." With that, he presses the button, detonating the bomb.

The explosion tears apart the front of the office building, blowing out towards one of the corners, and damaging support structures on the bottom floor. People scream as smoke and flames are expelled out of the building.

A few blocks away, Barry is eating the last of his hot dogs when he hears the blast. He shoots up and spins his head around, quickly spotting the smoke rising through the air a few blocks away.

Barry quickly ducks into a side alley, then mentally activates his suit. The suit quickly spreads out of the necklace, forming around him in seconds. He then speeds off, racing towards the site of the explosion.

As Barry reaches the site, he sees the bomber walking away from the scene, still holding the trigger device. Barry races up and punches him, knocking him out.

Barry then looks up at the building. With the damage caused by the bomb, the building's structure is beginning to weaken.

"Jocasta, how many people are inside the building?" Barry asks.

"Scanning," Jocasta says. A moment later, she says, "I am detecting 236 people inside the building at the moment."

"Alright. Plot me the most efficient path through the building to rescue them all," Barry says.

"Calculating," Jocasta says. A moment later, she says, "Most efficient course plotted."

Barry takes off, speeding into the building. Running about as fast as he can push himself, he speeds through the building, grabbing people and racing them out of the building, dropping them off outside the building on the street before racing back in to grab someone else.

As Barry is racing in and out of the building, he doesn't notice that Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben have all walked up out of a sidestreet, and are watching him racing in and out.

"Isn't that the Flash?" Sue asks.

"I think it is," Reed says.

Suddenly, they hear a loud creaking and groaning. With a chill, they realize that the lower level is beginning to crack and give way.

"Oh no! The building is going to fall!" Sue cries.

Reed turns to Ben. "Ben! You might be able to hold it up!" he says.

Been looks a little concerned, but he quickly says, "Alright. I'm on it." He then runs out of the sidestreet, heading right for the damaged corner of the building. People scream and point at him as they see him, but Ben doesn't may them any mind. He rushes into the damaged building, climbs on top of a fallen piece of debris, then lifts his hands up and pushes up on the ceiling as it begins to cave in. The groaning continues for several moments, but the building soon begins to stabilize.

People begin to cheer for Ben. As they do, Johnny sees an overturned propane truck, and young teenage girl not too far from the truck. Worst of all, he sees open flames creeping towards the truck.

Johnny races towards the girl. However, he quickly sees that the flames are getting too close. He has just enough time to reach the girl and throw himself over her before the flames get too close and set off the leaking propane.

A massive fireball engulfs the area. People scream as the fireball expands. Sue throws out her hands in vain as if to try and save them. However, what she thought was in vain isn't, as a field of energy seems to expand from her hands, forming a barrier between the onlookers and fireball.

Sue looks at her hands, then at barrier in shock, hardly believing that's she's doing this. As she does this, Reed sees a falling piece of debris falling towards an older man. Remembering what he already discovered he can do now, he stretches out his arm, wraps it around the man, and yanks him out of the way. At the same time, the fireball dies down, revealing Johnny, still protectively covering the girl, completely untouched.

More people begin to cheer, especially as Barry races out of the building with the last person inside the building. He turns and sees Reed and Sue standing a few yards away.

"Reed Richards. What are you doing here?" Barry demands.

"We heard the blast. We wanted to help, but…it looks like we've developed powers," he says.

Barry looks at them, then glances around, and sees Ben holding up the building. Despite his brief shock at Ben's appearance, Barry quickly says, "We need to stabilize the building!"

Reed looks into the building. Then, he shouts, "Johnny!"

Johnny hurries over. Barry starts a bit at seeing Johnny and realizing he's Ronnie Raymond's doppelganger. However, after years of seeing doppelgangers, it doesn't faze him too much.

Reed says, "If we can get some of these fallen steel beams and weld them to the supporting beam, it may give us enough time for emergency services to get better supports here."

Johnny nods, recognizing what Reed wants to do. Barry and Reed hurry into the building, grabbing steel beams and lifting them upright. Reed uses his body to secure the beams in place long enough for Johnny to use flames from his hands to weld the beams in place.

Within a minute, multiple strong beams have been welded in place. People are cheering like crazy for the heroes.

Barry smiles as he looks out at the crowd. As he watches emergency services begin to arrive.

A police lieutenant walks into the building. "What happened here?" he asks.

"Not entirely sure, but some guy set off a bomb here. I found him outside still holding the triggering device and knocked him out," Barry says.

The lieutenant passes on that information to his officers outside, and sounds out an alert to his headquarters that they'll need more materials to make sure the building doesn't collapse.

Barry turns to Reed. "I have to go. I can't hang around. But I'll drop by the Baxter Building later on. There's something I want to discuss with you," he says. And with that, he takes off running.

(Hours later)

Reed sighs as he walks out of the elevator with Sue and Johnny. Ben had left the scene a while ago, while Reed, Sue, and Johnny stayed behind to talk to the police and the press.

As they walk into the main laboratory, there's a flash of lightning, and Barry's standing in front of them.

"Flash," Reed says.

"Hello, Richards. I must say, you all did pretty good out there today," Barry replies.

"Thanks. But, without you, plenty of people would have died," Reed says.

Barry nods once, then says, "Looks like you guys really should have listened to me after all."

Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben look confused. "What do you mean?" Reed asks.

Barry looks at them, then says, "I think I can trust you guys." He then deactivates his mask, revealing his face to them.

Reed looks especially surprised. "Wait. You're the Flash?" he asks.

"Yeah. Honestly, I'm surprised everyone on this Earth doesn't know that I'm the Flash after that whole Avengers Civil War a few years back," Barry says.

"Well, this explains you coming from another Earth," Reed says.

Barry nods. Then, he says, "I can't stay long, as I need to head back to my Earth soon. But, I hope you learned a little lesson, Reed."

Reed looks a little ashamed and rubs his head. "Yeah, you're right there. I kinda deserve that. I shouldn't have dismissed you. I guess this whole thing since the trip has shown me I don't know everything," he says.

Barry nods before saying, "It's clear now that you all have powers. Speaking from experience, I know it's disconcerting. But, the more you understand your powers, the less disconcerting it will be."

"That, I understand. I'm going to start researching our powers right away," Reed says.

"That's not all. I saw you in action today. You all look like you were born for this. And I saw the report that the news did on you. Calling you the Fantastic Four. Maybe you could do what I did. Use your powers to protect and serve people," Barry says.

The four are quiet. Barry says, "Just think about it. In the meantime, I have a gift for you." He reaches into a pocket on his belt, and pulls out an extrapolator.

Barry walks up to Reed and hands him the extrapolator. "This is what we call an inter-dimensional extrapolator. It was made by my friend Cisco back on Earth-1. It has the ability to open breaches to another world, and it is also networked to other extrapolators Cisco built. So, not only can you open a breach to other worlds, but you can contact anyone in possession of other extrapolators. I set the default on this one to the extrapolators held by me and my friends at STAR Labs on Earth-1. So, if for whatever reason you need to contact us, you can call us using the extrapolator," he says.

Reed looks down at it in shock, then up at Barry. "Are you serious?" he asks.

"Yes," Barry says with a slight smile.

"Okay, I have so many questions about how this works," Reed says.

"Maybe we can share it at another time. But, don't tell anyone you have one of these. If everyone knew that there are multiple Earths, there's no telling what kind of greedy people might try and take advantage of that fact," Barry says.

Reed nods. "I understand," he says.

Barry nods in return. "I'm sure we'll be in touch soon enough. Until then, good luck, Richards. Good luck to all of you," he says.

With that, Barry's mask re-materializes around his head, and he speeds off. Reed and the others watch him speed off, wondering what kind of crazy things the future holds.

And, I'll end there. Hope you liked this one.

So, the Fantastic Four have begun, and they know Barry. We'll see them team up again soon enough. Hope you liked how I did this chapter.

Also, quick announcement. I have resumed work on an old fanfiction of mine which is an Avengers-Hunger Games crossover called Avengers of Panem. Go check it out if you're interested.

So, quick PSA. I'm currently in complete quarantine because I most likely have coronavirus (haven't gotten test results back yet, so not completely sure yet). So, I have very little to do besides watch TV and write fanfiction. So, I'm going to try and update much more frequently. Hopefully this story will be done within the next few weeks.

So, next chapter will be up hopefully by Saturday, and will hint at one of the two villains of this story. I hope you're excited for it. Until then, please leave a review, and stay tuned!
