Hey, everybody. Finally back with another chapter. Sorry it took me so long. I took a brief break from fanfiction just to rest and kind of get my inspiration back. But, I'm back, and I'll try not to take so long between updates again.

So, let's get to it.

Chapter 7- The Story of Moon Knight

Natasha hurries behind Moon Knight, leaping from rooftop to rooftop. Her mind is running through what just happened back on that street, and who that mysterious man was that Moon Knight was fighting. She's determined that one way or another, she's getting answers out of Moon Knight.

Finally, Moon Knight slows down enough for him to turn around and motions downwards. He then leaps off the roof, firing off a grappling cable to slow his descent.

Natasha rushes up to the edge of the roof and looks down. She sees a warehouse below her, and Moon Knight landing on the roof of the warehouse. Natasha leaps off the roof, using Moon Knight's grappling cable to slide down onto the roof of the warehouse after him.

After landing on the roof of the warehouse, Natasha leaps down from the roof after Moon Knight. As she does, Moon Knight hurries her through a door, shutting it firmly behind her.

Natasha takes a brief moment to catch her breath before turning sharply to Moon Knight. The vigilante is still, staring at her as he rests against a supporting pillar.

"You certainly are persistent. I'll give you that," Moon Knight says.

"I don't like things I know little about," Natasha says.

Moon Knight inclines his head slightly in a single nod, then demands, "Why are you pursuing me? Don't think I haven't noticed that you and your fiancée have been trying to find me."

"Well, first off, I wanted to thank you for protecting us that night, even if we didn't really need it. But more than that, I want to know who you are and what you want. More than that, I want to know who the h*** that guy was," Natasha demands.

Moon Knight is silent for several moments before he says, "You really think I would reveal my identity and motives to you just because you ask?"

"Perhaps not. In that case, maybe we could find out which of us is better, and after I beat you, I'll drag the answers out of you," Natasha says.

Moon Knight chuckles in response before he says, "Well, you're feisty. I like that." He pauses for a moment, then says, "Well, I guess I already know you can be trusted to keep a secret."

Moon Knight reaches up and removes his hood and mask. He then looks at Natasha and says, "My name is Marc. Marc Spector. Why don't you follow me?"

Marc leads Natasha through some tall machinery until they reach an open spot. There, Natasha sees a number of pieces of Moon Knight's gear, and, strangely, a bust of what looks like the head of an Egyptian god.

"After the Decimation, I became a mercenary. During a mission to Egypt, I was protecting an archaeological dig when I ended up in a fight with a mercenary sent to steal some of the artifacts. I was left for dead, and while I was unconscious, I had a vision of the god, Khonshu, the Egyptian God of the Moon. He brought me back to serve as his avatar of justice," Marc says

"Really? You were chosen by an Egyptian god to be his avatar of justice?" Natasha asks skeptically.

"You've fought aliens, sentient robots, and alien warlords who wiped out half the universe, and this is strange to you," Marc retorts.

"Touche," Natasha responds.

"Khonshu healed me, and I returned home to the States. I began to try and discover what gifts Khonshu had given me. I discovered that my strength, reflexes, and fighting skills had been greatly enhanced. I also soon discovered that the phases of the moon affect my abilities in different ways. I fashioned the identity of Moon Knight, and began travelling around the country fighting crime," Marc says.

"What about the other masked lunatic? No offense," Natasha says.

As Natasha says this, a change seems to come over Marc's face. A moment later, he says, "Oh, really? You think you can call Marc a lunatic, you crazy b****."

Natasha narrows her eyes, feeling a bit of anger welling up in her. Then, Marc shakes his head, and his expression returns to what it was before, and he says, "Sorry. Whatever Khonshu did to me…it's messed with my head a bit."

Natasha slowly nods, recognizing from that explanation and what she just saw that Marc must have multiple personality disorder.

Marc continues with his explanation, "The man that you saw and helped me fight is my brother. Randall Spector. We had a falling out many, many years ago. It seems, at some point Khonshu chose him as his avatar. Or, at least, that's what Randall believes. Not long after I became Moon Knight, he came after me. My guess is he was determined to prove that he was the one who was worthy of Khonshu's blessing. We fought, and at the time, I defeated him, but he fled."

Marc pauses, then says, "I went looking for my brother. Using an identity I forged myself of a black market arms dealer, I heard a rumor of someone matching his description being spotted here in California. So, I came to California and began acting as a vigilante all across the state, not just to bring justice to criminals, but to try and draw my brother out of hiding so I could finally kill him. But, it seems like he's spent a lot of time preparing for our inevitable meeting."

"So, he's out to kill you because he wants to be the only one to have powers from Khonshu?" Natasha asks.

"Yes. It's what makes the most sense to me. It's the first time he's gone crazy trying to hurt me. Many years ago, he killed my girlfriend at the time to spite me," Marc says.

"Well, that's definitely not a normal sibling relationship," Natasha says.

"COuldn't be more right," Marc says.

"So, he just wants to prove he's better than you?" Natasha asks.

"Yes. From when we were little, he's never been able to stand the idea that I could be better than him at anything. He always had to be better than me. If I didn't have something he did, he'd try to keep me from getting it. If we both had the same thing, whether a toy or some skill, he always had to be better than me. He's never gotten over that mindset. For him, me being chosen by Khonshu is just the biggest insult. He'll never be satisfied until he's killed me, no matter the cost," Marc says.

Natasha is silent for several moments thinking about this. Finally, she says, "Well, it seems like he's been preparing for this fight for a while. From what I saw, I don't think you can beat him alone. Let the Avengers help you."

Marc looks at her for a moment before shaking his head and beginning to gather up his gear as he says, "No. He's my brother, and he's coming after me. I'm the one he wants dead. He's my problem to take care of. Nobody else's. I'm not gonna let anybody take on a problem I should've handled a long time ago."

"Spector, you aren't going to just convince me to give up like that," Natasha says.

"I know," Marc says as he pulls his hood and mask back up. He then turns back to Natasha and says, "I do thank you for your help earlier, but here's where we part. This is my responsibility, and mine alone." He pauses, then says, "See you around."

Marc then throws down several spheres. Instantly, they burst, sounding a loud noise, letting out a flash, and filling the area with smoke. Natasha shrinks back a bit, covering her eyes to protect them from the flash and smoke. However, the light and smoke quickly fade. Natasha looks up, and sees that Marc has vanished.

Natasha looks around the warehouse, but there's no sign that Marc was ever there.

She sighs slightly, thinking to herself, Looks like the mystery of the Moon Knight still needs some work before it can be solved.

And, I'll end there. Hope you liked this one.

So, Natasha has really met Moon Knight, and knows his backstory. I hope you guys like how I have made Moon Knight's backstory so far.

So, next chapter should hopefully be up within the next week. Until it is, leave a review, and stay tuned!
