Hello, here I'm shameless as usual.

Ahem, I think we have a misunderstanding from last chapter. I took a huge decision for my career and I can predict everything will turn into a bigger mess. I updated last chapter because I wrote that long back. I said if the responses were minimal or negative I would stop writing further chapters. Unlike my other fictions this one takes more time and effort. But honestly I'm overwhelmed by the responses and reviews. I'm not tired of this story, nothing was rushed. You will understand the importance of last chapter once there are couple more chapters. The previous chapters as I've mentioned so many times before were not entirely my concepts and I apologize for that. However whatever happens here on is completely mine. If you've read 'ABDUCTED' you will understand the originality of my writeups.

Thank you everyone for not letting me give up on this. I write for readers so all of your reviews meant a lot, a hell lot.

REVIVNG, RESURRECTING, REKINDLING.

Jolts of electricity were propelled in her. She was not breathing, no heartbeat and this was a losing battle Sasuke was fighting yet he chose to not ponder on factual despondency. He lifted her up, she was unusually cold. A little bottle fell from her hands, a small container that had few pills left.

Pills?

Shit.

If pills were the reason why she remains like such, someone like Sakura cannot save her. If anything he is wasting time even considering that option. Sasuke has travelled too much, dimensions over dimensions yet there was only person he knew that could bring dead back to living.

"My, my. " orochimaru, the great snake sannin never once thought he'd live to see this day. He was immortal, yes, unfortunately not immune to surprises. "How the tables turn. "

Sasuke-kun was standing behind him, his beautiful sharingan glimmering the dim lights. When he first approached him, hardly 15 mins prior, holding a poor being, who was not breathing and a demand to bring her back to life, Orochimaru half thought he'd deny just to see his reaction. It won't be pleasant and it would be no fun otherwise. Dejection was not the question When the said poor being was the first lady of Konoha or rather why was Sasuke-kun beseeching to save her? It was not an official request, Naruto didn't know but Sasuke-kun did. Curiosity flared his nostrils but Sasuke-kun's demeanor moreso.

He wasn't repulsed or worried, as one might be while carrying a cadaver. He was livid.

His pores were emanating malice and orochimaru, personally, had the joy to witness it again after so long. It was ecstatic. He wanted to know how much more emotions he could extract; virtue of the lady, of course.

Orochimaru's silent chuckles pricked his ears. The clutch on his prized kusanagi, hardened more and more with every passing second. He hadn't felt the need to question how her health was. It was beyond terrible and that was evident.

There was a tube, a huge one filled to the brim with some kind of blue green liquid. The Hyuga, dead and motionless, remains inside with her bruised lips and numerous cuts across her torso. Midnight tresses waved across her face, coiling and uncoiling visage. Air bubbles would sprout around her; phantasmagoria of her whole body carrying out diffusion since her dictated organ refused to do so. She was still unhealthily pale, gradually shrunken and just like a phantom, even in the dead she enunciated ethereality.

There were vials filled with different colors, pigments and her blood. He didn't know what was happening physiologically but this has to be the only time he wishes something positive in this cursed place.

"How lucky, she is a hyūga. " orochimaru mentioned unceremoniously shaking a little test tube in his hands. The contents were poured over in another larger hardware. Crushed pills were carefully added; a putrid smell wafted through the air. The sannin chuckled and eventually left the place. Sasuke regressed back to being non-existent amongst the shadows this hollow room provided. He had a nagging feeling many people died here, he didn't want to witness one more.

Half an hour passed when someone returned and it wasn't orochimaru, it was Karin. She was sporting her regular attire with a board lodged in her hands. Frowning, she noted many vitals and signals from machines connected to the tube. They had been punctually beeping a rhythmic tone of tragedy.

"Karin. " shadows were his forte, he blended and stood out whenever he wanted to. His baritone laced with wariness startled her.

"S-sasuke-kun!" The boards were clutched to her chest and she staggered back. A proficient blush stained her cheeks when she saw him under the straining fluorescent lights. Nothing ever does injustice to his aristocratic visage. "You scared me!" The accusation felt like a compliment that was an adopted method of communication from her to him.

"What's her status?" Though he acted unaffected and nonchalant the rush in his voice articulated otherwise.

"It's…it's uncertain sasuke-kun. " As a reflex her face was lowered and brief grievance resurfaced. "She's not breathing, not yet. " He knew that he had held her way too close to not take notice of such. "Orochimaru-Sama used a jutsu to pump her heart, that is why we can see the heartbeat here. " vaguely she gestured to the many machines piled upon each other. "We're trying to purify her body liquids as much as we can so her tissues start their physiological functions of diffusion and osmosis. But the…" she fidgeted, as if she wasn't sure of her own experimental words yet.

"...The purification isn't simple. We keep getting different formulations of drugs. It's a miracle we came this far, seems like someone is holding her from death." He understood that much, it was a miracle. Orochimaru never has worked on failed attempts anyways. "Her prowess, chakra control is immaculate. We can bring the air back in her lungs, we can make her heart pump but once chakra pathways dissipate we can do nothing, nothing about it. She's strong. "

He nodded at her, she was indeed strong and unarguably stupid. "What about the drugs?"

"Concentrated sleeping pills. These are not recommended anywhere now. I wonder from where she got that, I even doubt it's available in Konoha anymore. It's main ingredient is banned across the 5 villages, this is a modified one. "

He frowned. He had his suspicions but this meant she was handed the pills. She didn't buy them, no, this was not a suicide, this was a planned murder. "Who can modify this?"

"No one, legally no one should. However, this is something that grows in Kiri, a specific island of Kiri that is isolated from the whole world. They say their inhabitants are dead, only if it were that easy."

"Kiri is renovated now. What makes you suspect it?"

"Kiri is not open to tourists wholly, Only the mainland. Behind the curtains they do trading narcotics like they used to. Most of our supplies come from them as well. " She shrugged. "Suigestu could provide more, he's on a mission."

He gave a curt nod. "How is this machine working?" Sasuke was curious as how you can retain someone dead and bring back their soul without possessing the Rinnegan or any such inhumane dojutsu. He had the rinnegan as well but the utility of it being used as picky savior was absurd.

"It's just a valve with a motor that continuously extracts polymers. The formula we use in the liquid varies, depends on what we wish to distill. There are sensors across the perimeter of the capsule that record wavelengths of greater range and hence we monitor physiological responses. I don't think that is what you were asking…" she pushed her specs across the bridge of her nose. "...I'm not even sure of how he plans to alive someone, I mean the principle is..uhm on the basis of capturing a soul and trapping it until the body is deemed fit to work synchronized with it or something like that…I'm not sure nor do I understand the intricate workings of this…but he seems to have done this before so..uhm I Don't know really. "

"Hn." Ever since the war like him Konoha kept Orochimaru on a leash within conditions. As far as he knew all his previous inhumane experiments were banned or shouldn't be known to Konoha or anyone at any circumstances. If he couldn't conduct experiments on available human specimens anymore, Sasuke was sure he would make them himself.

The rinnegan, said to be the greatest dojutsu, could trace chakra and with Sasuke's own precise contretemps the range could be stretched to track souls as well. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. He guessed it was a conglomeration of traces of Six paths technique that are left behind after every use. It externalises itself into a weaker version of Naraka path or any other one hinging on the previously used technique. There were no accurate signs really, just bait that caught the right fish most of the time. Ever since he brought her here, the rinnegan has been flaring. He could see the ripple of -what he assumed to be- her soul. It was floundering, like a chewed gum had no desire to either stay or fall under high temperatures. What orochimaru did couldn't be deciphered by him currently, he tried to copy that thing with Sharingan but he doubted that'll be usable.

Rinnegan was far more complex than assumed years ago. Postulates of Sasuke knowing mostly all of it were under the sham of him being an arrogant snob.

"Sasuke, eto…" Karin fiddled gambling on her chances of whether or not to proceed. Sasuke patiently waited for whatever she had to say. "How is Sarada?"

He was surprised that she'd ask. Sarada was probably the first and only baby Karin delivered. Genetically she held no connections to her but soft spots were rather evident. There was a mild debate in his head whether he should put some effort, be honest with her or lie to her face. Either way she could do no harm or good. "She's fine. "

There were no indications of malice, she smiled and nodded as if waiting for something more. There was tension in her muscles as she stretched her shoulders to relax again. A habit carried from her teens whenever anyone was hiding something. Sasuke reasoned it was only because she was a decent sensor.

"Sakura and I are divorced. For the time being she lives with the Hyuga here. " He had no prior obligations to tell her anything. He could absolutely choose not to answer, dismiss her for all he cared. There was no hostility for her or Suigestu or Jugo but no regard as well. They were all part of a past he moved on and actively chose not to reminisce as a regular chore.

Karin gasped, eyes widening at the revelation. Her first shock was that he divorced; the Sasuke she knew would stay ignorant rather than to tackle emotions and Secondly a more persistent and penetrating shock that he spoke that to her. From the beginning to the present Sasuke was someone who cut off his team from his emotional side. It stung to be so cruelly relegated.

"T-that's news. " nervous, she bit her own cheeks. "Wait. If you're here and so is Hinata Hyūga then whose care is she in?"

"Hanabi Hyūga. " That was a cause of concern indeed. There were a lot of things to sort out from and if the damned woman woke up half of them would dissipate into bleak air. He was unsure what made the psycho woman take an extreme decision but it occurred during her time period the dobe and dobe, unarguably had something in it. He wasn't blind to the faint chakra that her cuts diffused. If he was to go back to the village he was afraid their beloved hokage might be murdered.

"Oh" She had no well wishes to offer. Sasuke hated them anyways.

It had been 35 hours, 48 minutes till he brought her here with a chimerical envisage. She consistently remained unmoving, motionless except for her hair that moved like gentle tentacles in deep sea of dubitable formulations. Like a loyal hawk, he watched, glued to his baptized to shadows almost in a trance. It was highly hypnotizing to watch her shrunken face and body filibustering, assurances that of a human. Sasuke owed to no emotion, grief, anguish, nullity all like.

She was pinned like an exotic butterfly in reputed zoological parks; breathtaking and sympathizing all at once. He was a spectator, vaguely unaware to despondencies that have occurred beyond glass bars.

Aberrant, he refused to divert any ounce of attention from her.

Even so when there was a twitch, small twitch of her right finger, it was his duty to convince himself games were being played. The little twitch morphed into a monstrous impulse; it all happened in a second- from a miniscule twitch to a series of savage body jerks. He saw white eyes curtailed under blue veneers of blue poison. Orochimaru claimed those were for her betterment then why? Why was so erratic to get out of there? It twisted something in his gut, those eyes, pleading to save her, to give her a hand to breathe, to take her out of despondency.

Allegedly he moved faster than light itself this time he failed. No wits were left with him to decipher cruelties thrown at him. An immense pressure, both physically and emotionally was poured upon him. Like landslides it was devastating.

Last time she lost her breath, she accepted it. This time she unanimously importuned to be saved. He was determined to not let her go this time. His chakra and malice was all over the place yet somehow none of it ever seemed to reach her. Neither him nor his inklings.

The more chakra proffered, the more suffocating it became. It took him a couple of pococurante moments; enough to get him killed in the battlefield, to realize he was bound in a jutsu. Even so the logic condensed itself at the bottom, his body wouldn't cooperate. Unfiltered rage oozed out discerning her, violently thrashing limbs like a detrimental fish when thrown out of water or like a toddler thrown in water. It fogged reasonings.

He vaguely heard Orochimaru gushing in. "Karin! Sedatives!" A hiss escaped his lecherous being. Karin rushed to attack pumps on the capsule. Diffusion of blood red occurred in the chamber as in ink stretching its limbs once it is rest assured in water. There was a surge of chakra from orochimaru. Within seconds Hinata coiled back, the only remnants being the muddy water grossly groped.

Precipitous chakra surge diminished. Sasuke countered the jutsu.

"What did you do with her!?" Kusanagi teased to dissect orochimaru's neck, who looked too satisfied at the moment.

"Oh Sasuke-kun!" His eyes danced with a glimmer to hop back to Hyuga. There was some buildup like something was bubbling. Chakra slowly started spreading but it was not her. It was hard to put it into words, it was familiar but at the same time not hers.

The kusanagi threatened to tear apart his neck. "Sasuke-kun! She's breathing. " Karin exclaimed. It was a moment of overwhelming spirit. Regardless he demanded his answers.

"You don't understand?" He cocked his head unaffected by rancour.

To a greater lengths Sasuke did indeed understand. Chronologically, when he brought her here she wasn't dead, no not full fledged. A flicking life was there as if one candle amongst the desert. Here, inside the capsule the whole process was to ensure her physiological functions kept on going irrespective of her brain not responding or her heart not beating by choice. In the very uncomplicated version it was comatose. She was living by the standards of it but not by choice.

Against the gospels of living, the theory was to somehow bring the brain to start working. Because it was heavily influenced by drugs; a thorough filtration and regeneration process was all that was needed to bring her body untouched. Surgeons avoided the brain due to it's dire resultant of pandemonium. Sakura or Tsunade due to their frontier fear to work on the brain could've considered her dead. Orochimaru however, was not a surgeon. At the best refining his bestial tendencies he was a scientist. He had enough knowledge to uncoil the brain, put it back together and make it seem much more perceptive.

What he could make of everything was, he brought her body to urgency, to fight, to escape. The little signal was all he needed to swap something in her. It wasn't her chakra, no not the original one he had been used to. It was stronger, more pronounced and emitted aristocratic significance.

"That is not her chakra, you did something with it. "

"Ah. " He smirked, intently watching the woman breathing in the tube. Sasuke was borderline disgusted and horrified. "It's hers. Aww don't feel bad Sasuke-kun, she probably didn't know it herself, either. " The amusement chuckles that came accompanying were severely headache inducing.

"Is it in your knowledge that she posses Hamura chakra? Nobody else does, on earth that is. Unlike you, Sasuke-kun, who incorporates Hagomoro chakra in a routine she discarded it. It lingered with her and evidently it's more potent than her regular Hyūga chakra that is a mutated form of it. In order to bring her back a stronger chakra was needed. But you know, those are stubborn kinds? A rapid surge of stress hormones was required. What you saw right now was her 'fight or flight mode' reactions. It generally comes with a strong sense of living hence uprooting the discarded Hamura chakra and inculcating them at once. " As if done multiple times before, Orochimaru slid out of Sasuke's range to touch the glass capsule. The hungry look he projected on her made him wary.

"The schizophrenic attacks, as you described to me, were her reactions to yours. You agitated her at the same time brought a sense of nostalgia. " That on some levels did make sense. Over the years he had used them frequently. Exponentially the power increased and it was more flaring in him than Naruto. Naruto had various sources of chakra, kyuubi and he himself was gifted. The sage mode was rarely used by him so his were more different organizations of power. Contrary to popular belief it was Sasuke who was a humongous mass of clamped chakra. He really just had the presence of mind to pick out the most appropriate during various circumstances.

"Will she continue having those?"

"Hmmmm Who knows? There won't be spontaneous bursts but buildup maybe? We'll see. " He tapped the tube on a rhythm.

"When will she wake up?"

"Not for a while but soon too. Depends on how well she adjusts herself to the new environment for the sedatives to be dispelled. Besides, there are hefty chances her body might give up. It's quite painful, you see." Sasuke was aware but refused to believe in anything of that sort. She will have to live.

"Take her out of the tube. "

"Hmmmm? Soon Sasuke-kun, we don't want to rush now do we?"

Hanabi was the farthest thing from a decent cook. Over the years her culinary skills or lack thereof was the only thing that remained annoyingly adamant. Babysitting is not fun when you lack the basics for basic requirements like food. So instead of serving food poisoning on a silver platter she opted to order something or have someone from Hyūga house deliver something.

At evening when the doorbell rang she padded across the mayhem that was her sisters house to receive the food. The kids wanted hamburgers for dinner. Who was she to deny Kami's wish? However the murky chubby man who generally delivered the orders was not there, instead there were ANBU.

Alerted she took her Hyūga stance. Honestly she didn't know shit what was going on, her only order was to protect the kids and she was going to do it with no negotiations. Her sister wasn't back nor was the only other adult who had a clue where she might be.

Hanabi might be the younger sister but she wasn't dumb.

She knew how depressing everything was underneath the 'family-family' Hinata played. And just like everyone else in the village she believed the hokage and her sister were going to pull through. Theirs was true love afterall.

So then why? Why was the ANBU requesting the kids- especially the kids- to shift in hokage chambers. This was their fucking house. Why wasn't the father coming and sending ANBU as if this was enemy territory? As they walked beside the ANBU who were supposedly escorting them to their beloved Hokage she could smell the fear radiating off the kids.

Sarada was clutching Hima's hand and Hima was biting her lips, stumbling some of her steps. Why were they so nervous and hesitant to visit their father or in a way their uncle?

Why was the pink haired woman always lingering around her sister's husband? And why did she have hysterics looking at her child who looked horror stricken? Why was Hima so uncomfortable at the idea of her father loving her?

"Hokage-Sama I'm afraid I cannot leave the kids with you. They are my responsibility for the time being. We'll be heading back. " She was curious, indefinitely so but she believed to wait for her sister before trusting anything else.

"No. They're mine, they will stay with me."
