Five Years Ago

Brittany had been skiing all her life since she was a child practically. She couldn't remember a time when she hadn't been playing in the snow. It felt natural to her to glide through the snow and rely on her agility to keep balance. Words and numbers on the other hand could never seem to mean anything to her as she would space out in all of her classes at school whenever the teachers tried to explain concepts. They never liked Brittany's answers and more often than not, her tests would be returned with giant, red Fs.

Being one of the most popular girls at the high school wouldn't stop people from talking. The other kids would laugh at her for being "stupid" because she could never seem to pass anything, always at the bottom of every class. She heard all of the hushed whispers whenever she passed through the halls about how "easy" she was for being the girl who had shamelessly hooked up with most of the football team and even some curious cheerleaders at parties. If it wasn't that, it was them snickering about the cheap knockoff clothes Brittany wore that were just imitations of the popular girls' crazily expensive outfits.

She knew that to everyone she would just be that dumb blonde slut from a family who barely had cents to rub together but she didn't care. At least, that's what she told herself when she found herself crying so many nights as the words "Dumb," "Slow" and "Held Back" echoed in her head. It was difficult not to feel like a failure even after her kind parents constantly reminded her of how loved she was, doing their best to make her feel special.

She never felt like a failure when she was moving her body. Throughout her life, everyone would stare at her in awe, as if mesmerised whenever they saw her dance or run or jump. She was light on her feet and her movements were fluid, her natural athleticism making her a natural skier. It wasn't long before she was winning competitions and making a name for herself. The money from the winnings help to keep her parents and sister more comfortable as well.

"Britt, you should go to the interview. You'll be perfect for this." Finn gently squeezed her shoulder with a broad, reassuring smile on his face as Brittany stared at him blankly. Finn was one of her oldest friends. They lived in the same neighbourhood, went to the same schools and had been close since early childhood. Brittany wanted to trust him when he recommended a job to her right after high school. He himself had found a job at the local Slippery Slopes resort not that long ago and seemed to be happy there.

"I don't know… Do you think I'm smart enough? I've never been to college."

"Don't worry about that. They'll love you."

Not long after, Brittany had settled into her role as a ski instructor alongside Finn at the resort. That night in October, Finn invited Brittany, their other friend Mike who was another up and coming pro-skier and some of their other friends out to a bar in the village near to the resort. Brittany was surprised when the waitress walked over, smirking a little at her as she handed her a margarita.

"Thanks but I didn't order this." Brittany mumbled in confusion.

"The lady over there sent it for you. She asked if you would join her if you like."

Brittany blinked, still puzzled as she searched the crowd and her gaze finally landed on a woman with dark olive skin and dark brown, straight hair who was watching her intensely from the bar area. She recognized her as the winner of the ski race she and Finn had entered not that long ago. Finn, Mike and the rest of the friends at their table began to laugh teasingly, whistling. Brittany was accustomed to getting attention from plenty of men and occasionally women who were interested in her but it was the first time anyone had a drink sent to her.

"Ooo Britt, is that Lani Kekoa? You've got an admirer." Mike chuckled as Brittany smirked, rolling her eyes at her friends' good-natured teasing.

"Nothing new about that for Brittany." Tina added in as everyone else murmured in agreement.

"Lani Kekoa?! Britt, you're so lucky. Can you get her autograph for me?" Finn gasped, looking at the blonde girl with pleading, puppy dog amber eyes that made her giggle, ruffling his brown hair. She was practically a celebrity in their circle of skiers.

"Sure thing, Finn."

She finally stood up and walked over to the bar curiously. Brittany had just broken up with the footballer she had been dating for the last years of high school and she couldn't deny that she was intrigued by the dark-haired woman who was smiling at her softly as she approached.

"Hi." Brittany greeted her softly, uncharacteristically shy as she smiled. Lani gestured for her to take a seat. Last time they had seen each other was on the slopes, on competition days and the woman had waved at her a few times but they hadn't been able to connect beyond that.

She had never really looked at her closely but now that they were face to face, Brittany noticed the chiselled but still feminine appearance of her face. She had sharp, arched eyebrows, high-cheekbones and full lips. She was just a few inches shorter than Brittany with a slim but toned frame, looked to be about the same age and was wearing a classy black dress, along with expensive looking gold jewellery, including a watch that must have cost thousands. There were several rings with stones on her fingers that caught the eye. She was watching Brittany with penetrating green eyes that held a slight mischief to them as well.

"Hi, I'm Lani. You look gorgeous in that dress." The darker woman murmured appreciatively as Brittany slid in beside her at the bar. Brittany giggled softly, dipping her head and looking down at the powder blue mini dress she was wearing that suddenly didn't seem so grand in the presence of this very wealthy and glamorous woman. It was the first time she had ever heard Lani speak.

The sophisticated woman had a smooth, low and controlled voice that made Brittany shiver. She was silent for a long moment, not knowing how to respond for once. It was usually the blonde who made the first move when it came to flirting with others rather than the other way around.

"Sorry, I didn't mean to make you feel uncomfortable, Lovely. I hope I'm not being too forward. It's Brittany, right? Brittany S. Pierce?"

Brittany nodded and shook Lani's hand when she held it out to her, still wearing that charming and confident smile on her distinctive face.

"It's fine. It's just that no one has ever bought me a drink before," Brittany responded. "I'm a little new to this."

"Really? A girl like you? I find that hard to believe. I'd buy you anything you want, Darling."

"Oh really?" Brittany chuckled, taking a sip from her margarita as she was amused by the woman's confidence. She had never met anyone so sure of themselves before and the cockiness was a turn on. Still, she played coy, smirking into her drink, not giving in completely as Lani tried to charm her.

"So just to be clear… you are into girls, right?"

"I'm bisexual. A bi-corn, you could say." Brittany replied confidently with a giggle and Lani's green eyes gleamed, dancing over Brittany's features as she was pleased with that answer. She looked at Lani expectantly, tilting her head to the side as she wondered what the darker woman would say to that.

"Good to know. Most people don't realize I'm gay. I haven't exactly made a public announcement to the world," Lani said with a laugh. "My publicist thinks it would be a bad idea… it's ridiculous to have to hide from the world."

Lani had such a powerful presence to her and a magnetism that made Brittany want to cling to every word as she spoke.

"I agree. It's sad to have to keep all that awesomeness hidden to yourself. So what brings you to Slippery Slopes?"

"I don't know. Guess I got lost on my way to visiting my family in Hawaii." She joked.

"That happens to me all the time. Getting lost, I mean." Brittany chuckled.

"You're adorable. Just my luck I get to talk to the prettiest girl in the whole town," Lani reached over and touched Brittany's arm gently, rubbing her thumb over her skin and the blonde felt heat rise to her face at the flirtatious gesture. At least Lani hadn't been put off by her quirkiness the way many people were. "What do you say we go dance, Brittany?"

Brittany followed her to the dance floor, allowing the shorter woman to gently place her hand on her waist to guide her. Everyone they passed smiled and waved at the dark-haired woman or stared at her in awe if they recognized the athlete. Brittany felt powerful when she was at Lani's side in a way she never had before. She liked it. The night ended with Lani asking Brittany if she wanted to go to her room at her hotel, which of course was the penthouse suite. It wasn't long before they were tangled up in bed together.

Present Day

Santana sat up for a moment, looking around in confusion. She found herself yet again laying on familiar pink sheets. She lay back and snuggled deeper into them, pushing her face against the pillow then closed her eyes for a moment as she was met with the flowery, light scent that she associated with Brittany.

The difference was that this time, she felt completely sated and relaxed in a way she hadn't ever before, her limbs feeling like liquid honey as she stretched her limbs and rolled onto her side. It was still daytime and some light was pouring in from the small window nearby. She felt completely dazed though still euphoric in a way she never had.

"What happened… Brittany?"

She took a moment before finally opening her eyes as vivid memories of what she had just done with the blonde ski instructor filtered back into her mind and a tinge of heat rushed to her cheeks. Santana felt warm arms wrap around her torso and legs tangle with hers. Her heart began to race, beating so hard that she wondered if the girl could hear it.

"You passed out after we… " Brittany giggled, her sultry eyes dancing playfully. "I guess I wore you out, Hot Shot."

Santana pouted for a moment, looking away stubbornly and not meeting her eyes. It was the second time she had completely passed out in Brittany's cabin and for an even more humiliating reason this time.

"Don't be embarrassed. It's so cute that you couldn't even keep your eyes open."

Brittany was still fully naked and as she sat up she allowed the sheets to drift down, making no effort to cover herself. All Santana could see were her perky breasts and tiny waist. She could make out every freckle on the soft, white skin of Brittany's belly and shoulders, suddenly wanting to take the time to kiss each of them. Brittany noticed the way Santana was staring at her with lust in her dark eyes and leaned in close, her lips ghosting against Santana's ear.

"Mmm, will I get in trouble with your parents for corrupting their daughter if they find out about us?" The blonde purred.

This tryst that they were having or whatever it was they were doing felt so forbidden and that made it even sexier. Santana couldn't help but smirk as Brittany climbed on top of her, feeling heat rise up her neck as the blonde girl continued to nibble then suck on her ear while her soft hands seemed to go everywhere on the darker girl's body at once. Santana sucked in a sharp breath as she could barely keep up with all of the sensations. She squeezed her thighs together tightly, suddenly aware of how turned on she was.

"Was it good for you?" She asked in a small, shy voice that was a far cry from her usual cocky way of speaking. Brittany leaned up, pressing her lips to hers briefly and it turned into a longer kiss as Santana immediately gave into it, grabbing Brittany's waist and pulling her closer.

"You were amazing," Brittany hummed against her lips, her cat eyes shining intensely. "I've never felt like that."

Santana smirked, her confidence rising at the way Brittany was looking at her with so much desire.

Their chests pressed together and Santana gasped in arousal as she felt Brittany's hard nipples brushing against her. Her hands moved as if they had a mind of their own as she palmed Brittany's breasts and paused to pay attention to her nipples as the blonde squeaked. She rolled over on top of the blonde, cupping her face as she kissed her hard and deep while Brittany whimpered into her mouth.

Their tongues met and Santana found herself grinding her core against Brittany's thigh for some relief to the pressure that was building. She was a little embarrassed when Brittany smirked at her, reaching down and squeezing her hip bones and their eyes met. There was no doubt that the blonde could feel Santana's wetness against her as she rocked against her. It wasn't long before Santana was slipping her hand between Brittany's thighs and shuddering when she felt her dripping as she ran her fingers through her.

"Can I… again?" She asked breathlessly, in between heated kisses as she suddenly felt desperate. "Please, I want to… I need you so much."

Brittany hummed in agreement, begging her to continue. She gasped as Santana's fingers circled her entrance then cried out at the intrusion as the darker woman pushed into her. She was so tight and hot that Santana couldn't help but pause to admire the feeling. Brittany squirmed after a moment and Santana smiled, beginning to thrust into her as it was clear that the blonde was ready for more.

Before long, they found a rhythm and Brittany kept moaning, feeling herself melt beneath Santana, running her hands over the girl's shoulders and back. The blonde couldn't resist this more confident side to Santana that was showing as she pressed her into the bed and didn't stop thrusting into her. Santana was pleased by the way Brittany was reacting to her and couldn't get enough of the sounds she kept pulling out of the blonde.

"Santana… oh!" Brittany cried out as the Latina moved her fingers in a way that made her see stars. She lay on her back against the bed, panting as Santana lay her head against her chest equally out of breath when they were finished. She ran her fingers through black hair and over Santana's shoulders contentedly as Santana practically purred against her. Everything felt good and Santana found it difficult to think about Rachel, her parents, skiing or any other problems in her life for once. Everything else faded away aside from the beautiful blonde who was holding her.

That was until a sudden noise startled them both. They both looked up nervously when they heard someone knocking on the door of the cabin.

"Who do you think it is?" Santana gulped. She was suddenly terrified that Will or Emma realized how long their oldest daughter was away and had gone looking for her. She wasn't sure how she'd explain her way out of this one. Her parents finding out she was having an affair with her older female ski instructor probably wouldn't go down well. "We should put on something."

The darker girl practically tripped over the sheets as she rushed to look for Brittany's bathrobe and wrapped it around herself quickly, making her way to the door while Brittany hastily began to put back on her panties and bra she was wearing before.

"Brittany? Are you home?"

There was a dark-haired woman standing just outside who was about the same height and size as Santana staring at her in confusion with a frown. She had an olive skin tone that was a few shades lighter than Santana's brown skin and striking green eyes that narrowed as they met hers. Santana didn't like the way this woman was staring openly at Brittany who was still in a state of semi-undress and stepped in front of the doorway, blocking her lover from view. Santana's mood shifted from embarrassment at them potentially being caught to annoyance.

"Who are you?" Santana narrowed her eyes, staring her down as she crossed her arms over her chest and rolled her neck. "What the hell do you want with Brittany?"

Rachel was walking aimlessly around the gift shop in the resort later that day. Her sister hadn't been answering her texts or calls for hours and she didn't know what to do with herself when she didn't have Santana to hang out with. She couldn't help but feel depressed as she moped around, knowing it was more than likely that Santana was spending all her time with that bimbo ski instructor Brittany and as usual that meant she had no time for Rachel.

She gasped in surprise when a large, male body practically collided with hers, causing her to stumble and drop the keychain she was holding. When she looked up, Finn of all people was standing in front of her with a sheepish yet annoyed expression. Rachel looked away, crossing her arms over her chest defensively as she hung her head. She wondered whether she should pretend not to notice him and walk away but it seemed too impolite.

"Sorry about that. I was on my way to see my um… sister, Marley. Yeah, my sister works here." Finn mumbled awkwardly after the two had stood there for ages, not looking directly at each other or speaking yet not moving away either. The other customers at the shop were giving the two of them weird looks.

"It's fine." Rachel responded sadly, still focusing on anything other than Finn's face. She couldn't bear the thought of being around her ski instructor again as she kept hearing the last things he told her echoing in her head. She didn't know what to do now that she had completely embarrassed herself.

"Look, Rachel… I don't know what to say. You were pushing it really far last time especially. I just snapped but now you look so… gloomy and just not yourself."

"Why do you care if I'm upset?" Rachel finally lost her temper and forgot about her shyness. "I'm sorry if I was obnoxious and made you uncomfortable but you didn't have to treat me that way. I know you and apparently my sister don't even see me as a human but I have feelings too, Finn."

Finn's amber brown eyes widened, putting up his hands defensively as Rachel glared at him, her dark brown eyes finally meeting his and flashing with anger. He wasn't expecting the normally meek girl to react this way at all. The thought of making her so disappointed in him and depressed was really getting to him for some reason.

"It's not that I don't… Rachel I didn't mean it like that. It's not that I don't think you have feelings."

"You didn't even come looking for me once. You never cared that you hurt me, did you?" Rachel finally sobbed, breaking down.

"No… I mean," Finn let out a strangled noise, frustrated with his inability to communicate how he was feeling as the girl just narrowed her eyes. "I was just confused and scared, okay. We barely know each other… I thought you were some kind of stalker and I'd find you under my bed, okay? Any other dude would have had the same reaction."

"You won't have to deal with me anymore, Finn. Don't worry, I'll leave you alone since that's what you clearly want."

Before he could say anything more, Rachel walked away briskly, wiping a tear away from her eye and went back up towards her room. Finn stood in the same spot, ignoring the people around him who gave him weird looks when he grunted in annoyance at himself.

He had tried so many times to summon the courage to go to her and apologize after the way he had rejected her but he was too much of a coward. Even though he felt she deserved it at the time, he couldn't get the image of her downtrodden expression out of his mind and part of him had even missed the girl's cheerful voice and soft brown eyes. Yet now he had made everything worse by being such a dumbass…

"Lani? Is that you?"

To Santana's surprise, Brittany immediately seemed to know who the woman was and came to the door, even though she was just wearing a pink bra and shorts at this point, in the middle of pulling a sweater over her head. Santana knew how comfortable Brittany was with her body but she didn't like the idea of others seeing her lover in a state of undress.

"Brittany… you know this person?" Santana asked, blinking in confusion.

"Who are you?" The woman threw back at Santana in a low growl, getting into her space. Santana bristled, seething as she popped her neck and squared her shoulders.

"Who am I?! What the fuck kind of question is that? I am her woman and who are you?"

Santana wasn't sure why said it but the words kept coming out of her before she could stop them. She wasn't exactly certain about what her relationship status was with Brittany as they hadn't exactly talked about it but she felt like she was going to explode unless she told this intruder to back off.

"Your woman?" Lani or whatever the hell her stupid name was rolled her eyes, walking in with a confident swagger and pushing past Santana, completely ignoring the angry woman. "I don't think so. I asked Brittany to marry me."

"What the fuck are you talking about?"

Santana felt her heart begin to shatter as she began to piece things together. She hated the familiarity with which the dark-haired woman was moving around in Brittany's apartment as the two of them spoke.

Brittany was quiet for a long moment, staring at the woman with wide eyes as if stunned, not denying what Lani had just said and Santana felt her heart shattering the longer she stayed there. Lani sat at Brittany's small table in the kitchen area with an ease of someone who had been there many times before and Santana hated it. The Latina hastily grabbed the rest of her things, hot anger and hurt rising up in her throat the longer she spent in their presence. She had to get away.

"She's your… your fiancee?! Obviously I misunderstood what was going on between us, Brittany," She sighed, hastily throwing on her clothes and not giving a fuck at this point who saw her in a state of undress. "Don't you play me for a fucking fool. I'm leaving."

"Wait, Santana… Please, don't go. It's not like that. Let me explain… "

Brittany ran toward her but Santana moved away swiftly, pushing Brittany off of her when she tried to hug her. She could see how red the blonde's face was now that she was upset, looking on the verge of tears and she felt her own throat begin to choke up but she refused to show weakness.

"Don't. Just don't."

After pulling on her boots roughly, she made her way out into the snow, slamming the cabin door behind her as she stomped away. She was furious and tears began to slide down her cheeks before she could stop them.

Will was bewildered by how his two daughters were acting as he sat around the table for dinner a few nights later in the hotel room. On one side, there was his oldest daughter who hadn't even touched her plate, her head pressed down against the table and snapped at him with the most deadly voice he had heard from her whenever he spoke to her.

Then beside her, there was Rachel who was sobbing into her handkerchief at any given moment, apologizing each time she burst into unexplained tears then going back to talking too fast and too cheerfully to be normal. Rachel kept casting concerned glances in Santana's direction.

Emma looked over at him nervously, clearly not knowing how to handle this. Will sighed deeply, pinching the bridge of his nose. He needed to figure out what on earth was going on with his family. He knew that Santana hadn't exactly been pleased at the idea of going on a family trip and Rachel had been nervous about a new experience but the sudden violent mood swings were strange.

"Alright, Girls. Enough is enough. We need to talk. Which one of you is going to tell me what's going on here?"

"Everything's fine, Daddy." Rachel plastered on an extremely fake looking smile, showing off her perfect teeth as Will shook his head in disbelief.

"I don't believe that for a second, Rachel. C'mon, Guys. You've been acting like this for days now and I want to know what happened to you two. Did someone hurt you guys? Did you get into an argument again?"

Rachel was silent, looking at him sheepishly with that same tight smile that didn't meet her eyes and Santana grunted something threatening sounding that Will couldn't quite make out. Their father was becoming increasingly concerned.

"Okay, so still the silent treatment, huh? Girls, you're not in trouble but I don't want to see you two so upset. You don't have to tell us exactly what happened but at least let us help you. Is it a… love life issue?"

Rachel suddenly broke down into tears again and this time, Santana joined in, to his surprise. Oh dear… Will thought to himself warily. So apparently his guess that it had been something of the romantic nature upsetting the sisters had been right. He and Emma put their arms around the girls, hugging them as they cried and not knowing what else to do. He had never been quite prepared for how he would handle the day when his intense daughters fell in love with someone and now it seemed to be happening to both at the same time. He had the perfect idea to cheer them up.
