Hey, everybody. Back with another update.

So, we have come to the last chapter of this story. I hope you all have enjoyed it. I've enjoyed writing it, and I'm excited to be posting one more update.

Let's get to it.

Green Hal37: I think after Thanos' attempt to reclaim the stones, more Chitauri tech would have been left behind and found its way into the hands of criminals. As for your guesses, I'm still not sure if I'll have an Earth-99 Superman. I'll be introducing the X-Men for real at some point in Phase 3, though Wolverine will obviously make an appearance in the final Phase 2 story, and maybe one other mutant I have yet to decide. I will also be doing a Supergirl story at some point, probably for a team up with Captain Marvel, but I'm not entirely sure when and what kind of plot I'll use.

Chapter 12- The Future

Oliver and Natasha smile as they walk with Marc into the Compound. It's late at night, and by now, most of the team has headed off to bed. It's only because of that Marc was willing to come into the Compound.

After they defeated and killed Shadow Knight, they had searched his body, and had found the location of his hideout on his phone. They had gone to the warehouse that he had been using to look for anything of use. They had found a few things of small value, but nothing of particular note. They had then come down to LA to the Compound.

"Well, it's over. Shadow Knight is gone. Good to know we have one more madman off the streets," Oliver says.

"In exchange for another one," Natasha mutters with a bit of a smile.

"I heard that," Marc says, and the three of them chuckle.

"I really appreciate your help. I know I was stubborn about accepting your help at first, and I probably could have beaten him without your help, but I was definitely able to do it a lot faster with you guys helping me," Marc says.

"Not sure that was true thanks, but I guess we'll take what we can get," Oliver says.

"You better, since that's all you're getting," Marc says.

Oliver is quiet for a moment before he says, "You know, Marc, you remind me a lot of myself when I was first starting out. I was once a vigilante like you before I joined the Avengers. You can do a lot as a vigilante, but I think you could do a lot more as an Avenger."

Oliver pauses for a moment before he extends his hand towards Marc and says, "Join us. Become an Avenger and help us stop others like your brother."

Marc is quiet for several moments before he finally says, "I appreciate the offer, Queen. But I work better alone. Whatever my path holds in the future, at least for the time being, being an Avenger is not par of it."

Oliver lowers his hand as he nods solemnly. "I understand," he says simply.

Marc nods before he turns and begins walking back the way they came in. But, before he walks out, he stops and turns around to face them. He pulls something out of a pocket on his belt and tosses it to Oliver. Oliver catches it, and sees that it's a flip phone.

"But, even if I'm not an Avenger…if you really need me, give me a call," Marc says with a small smile.

"Right back at you, Marc. We're here if you ever need us," Oliver says.

Marc smiles a bit brighter before nodding once to Oliver and then slipping out the way the three of them came in.

Oliver and Natasha stand there for a moment, staring at the spot where he walked out, wondering when they'll next run into the Moon Knight.

(The next day)

Oliver and Natasha walk hand in hand along the streets of Los Angeles, just kind of watching people around them while greeting everybody who comes up to meet two of the Avengers.

As they round a corner, Natasha looks at Oliver and says, "Do you think we should try and keep an eye on Spector?"

Oliver is quiet for several moments before saying, "I think it would be stupid to ignore him completely. But…I think we can trust him. I kind of see my own history in his to some degree. And he's trying to bring justice like I did, but maybe without the body count I had when I first started. I think it's okay to leave him be. But…it's probably a good idea to keep an eye out just in case he decides to do something stupid."

Natasha grins at him and says, "And you would know all about doing something stupid wouldn't you?"

Oliver glares at Natasha, which just makes her laugh. She then leans up and gives him a quick kiss. After she pulls away, she looks at him and says, "Why don't we set a date for our wedding? I was thinking some time in July."

Oliver smiles slightly. "I like the sound of it. And how about we have it at the Compound?" he says.

"Sounds good to me," Natasha says. The two walk off down the sidewalk, talking about more details for their wedding, and just feeling happy to be together.

(That night)

Marc silently stares out at the cityscape of Los Angeles from his position atop a skyscraper downtown. He watches as the cars drive by below him, oblivious to his presence.

Marc reflects on the adventures of the past few days. He finds it a bit hard to believe that after years of animosity and hatred between him and his brother, it's over. And yet, a small part of him feels a tinge of sadness, remembering the person his brother used to be, and feeling sad that that brother he knew is gone.

Suddenly, over his earpiece, which is tapped into police scanners, he hears, "All units, we have a robbery in progress at Bank of America. All available units converge."

Marc smiles a bit as he pulls up his hood and pulls his mask over his face. He then leaps off the roof and fires off a grappling hook, swinging away to head off the robbers.

As he swings over the busy intersection below, an old man with a mustache and glasses looks up and sees him. "Oh boy. I can never keep track of all these heroes and vigilantes," the old man says before he turns and walks away."

And, with that, this chapter is over.

I hope you don't mind that I waited until the very end to do a Stan Lee cameo. I kept forgetting about doing it until eventually this was the only place I could reasonably do it. I'll try to avoid doing that again.

So, I hope you liked this story and the introduction to Moon Knight. Although he's not an Avenger, Moon Knight will be showing up several more times in this series.

Now, I have a question for all of you. I may have Moon Knight show up in the next story, which will be the end of Phase 2. But, beyond that, when would you like to see Moon Knight show up next, and more specifically, who would you like to see him team up with in his next appearance. Let me know.

Oh, what is this? Is this a mid credits scene about to happen? Yes, it is.

(Time stream)

As his massive ship flies through the time stream, having left the 41st century, Kang watches his crew from his position on his throne. At last, the time has come.

"Lord Kang!"

Kang turns to the officer who spoke, and says, "Yes, Commander?"

"Sir, we have detected the final changes to the time stream. It is happening just as you predicted," the man says.

"Perfect. Everything is proceeding as I expected. Set the date for the temporal jump. May, 2021," Kang says.

"Understood, sir," the man says as he moves to relay the order to the rest of the bridge crew.

Kang smiles as the ship begins the process of jumping to 2021. At last, his plan is ready to execute.

And, there we go. Yes, the next story, and the final story of Phase 2, will be the true introduction of Kang the Conqueror and his first encounter with the Avengers.

Kang is a very interesting villain, and I hope I will be able to do his character justice. Also, I will be using Kang more than once in this series, so look forward to multiple appearances from him.

Also, please leave me suggestions for who you wish to see play Kang.

Well, that's it. This story is finished. The next one will hopefully be posted within the next few weeks. I'll post a notice to all Phase 2 stories to let you all know when it's up. I hope you're excited for it. Until it's up, please leave a review and give me your final input on this story, and stay tuned!
