Gibbs has ordered Tim to bring back Tony and Ziva after a while. Leaning back in his chair, he exhaled deeply. He didn't know what had gotten into him. Lately, everything she did would set him off. It wasn't the first time she had ran around the office or the first time she had knocked his coffee over. So why did it bother him so much this time? Since she had run off, he had been "bugged" by it. He couldn't really explain it, but it...hurt him? Was that even the correct word? He was hurt by her running off. He knew this was ridiculous behavior from a grown man. And he also knew he had just made it worse, by sending her to the kennel. In the while he has come to known the wolf, he knew one thing. Luna did not forgive easily.

"Boss?"

Gibbs looked up to see his team standing in front of his desk. He hadn't even heard them walk back in. "Yeah, get your gear we have a case."

As they walked down to the vehicles, Gibbs stopped halfway into his car. Glancing towards the kennel he spotted Luna staring at him with wide eyes. Instead of doing what he knew he should have, he jumped into his car and drove off.

Alex watched him drive off. He looked at her and still he drove away. 'What the actual fuck!' She hadn't thought it would be possible to become even angrier, but Alex could feel her blood boiling. 'Had I stayed with Elijah, I wouldn't be in here. I wouldn't be dealing with a good for anything mate!' Spinning around She took to laying down on the ground. 'I wonder what Elijah is doing now? One thing for sure is he can not find out about this.'

By the time they pulled back into the garage, it was well past 11 pm. In that time she had, had enough time to focus on her anger.

You see wolves are loyal and protective, but they are also easily triggered and aggressive. Let's say you lock one in a kennel and leave her there for hours, the wolf will become antsy and irritated. That feeling will lead to aggression and even attacks. Werewolves are ten times worse. Mix in the emotions of a human and wild animal, you have a timing bomb. And right now that bomb was waiting to be let out.

Alex didn't know what was happening to her. The moment they pulled into the garage, she suddenly became full of rage. Their smell was like a red flag. It was screaming danger. In lack of better terms, she had lost control of her wolf side.

Ziva sighed, closing the car door behind her. The case was a simple open and shut. To their surprise, the killer was still in the house by the time they got there. Hearing the others climb out of their cars, Ziva glanced towards the kennel to see the water dish spilled. "Tony, help me with the water."

"I got it." Gibbs said, making his way over.

She tried to reel back in the animal as Gibbs got closer. 'Deep breaths, deep breaths.' But the moment, Gibbs unlatched the lock, she lunged herself against the fence door with a loud snarl.

"Gibbs!" Tony yelped, rushing over to help push back the door. Even with two full-grown men, they struggled to push her back. "Holy shit, she is strong. Ziva the hose!"

It was as if his once calming scent was driving her insane. 'You think I was going to simply forget this!' Alex noticed Ziva approach from the corner of her eye, but she was so bent on getting ahold of Gibbs, that she didn't bother with her. Just as Alex was about to break loose, a strong current of water hit her right on the side. 'Got dammit!' Falling to the ground, Alex growled at hearing the door being locked.

"What the hell happened?" Ziva asked.

Tony leaned down, placing his hands on his knees. "I don't know, but she just went full Cujo."

Gibbs took in deep breaths, not once taking his eyes off the tired wolf. "I don't want her out of that kennel am I understood!" One last look towards her and he stormed away.

And just like that, her rage disappeared. She laid on the concrete completely soaked and out of breath. Her heart beating against her chest, echoing into her ears. Her once boiling hot blood, slowly cool down taking the adrenaline away. She couldn't move her heavy body. Didn't have the strength to even try.

Ziva made her way closer to the kennel. Just as she was about to open the gate, Tony stopped her. "She won't hurt me, Tony."

"You don't know that Ziva." Tim said. "She did just go off a few moments ago."

"She went off on Gibbs." Ziva slowly opened the door, walked in, and sat down beside her.

Alex felt her hand run up and down her body, sending her into a calm state. Alex didn't know what had happened to her, but she needed to get herself in control once more. 'I am sorry, I couldn't control myself.' A small whimper escaped.

"It's alright Luna. We are all allowed to get angry." Ziva chuckled. "Especially if we are thrown in a cage." Glancing at her watch, she sighed quietly. "It's late and we pass clock out time. I will be going home and taking Luna with me."

Tim frowned. "But Gibbs said-"

"I heard what he said McGee, but he was also angry and nothing thinking." Ziva held the door open, gesturing for her to walk out. "Besides as of this morning she is my responsibility. And I am not going to leave her in this cage for the night." Bidding them goodnight, she walked them towards her car and out of the office.

It felt good to feel the wind on her face as they drove down the street. The smells invaded her nose, but it felt amazing. She couldn't wait to run! To feel the cool soil on her paws. The moment Ziva pulled up to the apartment complex, Alex jumped out the window and onto the grass. It had just been watered, causing it to feel ten times better. Ziva's laugher echoed in the night, as Alex rolled around in the wet grass.

"Someone is happy to be off work." Both females turned to the voice, only to find Eyal. Walking towards him, Alex did a quick check-up. He smelled of expensive cologne and gun powder. Seeing the gun placed in his hip, she nudged it with her nose. "Good eye." Scratching her behind the ear, he turned his gaze back to Ziva. Who had gone from excited in seeing him to weary of the gunman. "Forgive me, I just got off work." Reaching into the pocket of the coat, he pulled out his credentials. "I heard your laughter and had to come to see what had you so happy."

"It's fine, you just caught me by surprise." Ziva smiled, a blush creeping up her cheeks. "Luna just being Luna."

Alex was actually getting embarrassed, feeling like a third wheel. It was sort of cute though. The way he would look at Ziva when he believes no one was looking. Ziva would glance at him, every so often trying not to be obvious. Trying being the keyword. Once again it was up to the wolf, to give them that little needed push. Grabbing ahold of Ziva's sleeve, Alex pulled her towards the street. About five blocks away stood a park, which was also close to the woods.

"You want to go to the park?" She asked. Alex tossed her head back and howled. "Alright, let's go."

Seeing Eyal make no move in following them. Alex groaned. 'Jesus with you two.' Headbutting the back of his leg, she pushed him forward. 'Let's go! Move your fine ass!'

Ziva chuckled. "Eyal, you want to walk with us?"

"I don't see how I could possibly decline the offer."

Eyal and Ziva took to walking around the park, as Alex wandered off. It was lonely, with the occasional nightly joggers. Pushing through some bushes, she walked towards the lake and settled on the edge. It had a few ducks swam quietly from one end to the other. On the other side of the lake, laid two swans with their little chicks. Both watching her with both curiosity and fear. 'Relax, I prefer my birds plucked and cooked.'

'I distinctly remember you eating a rooster with feathers and raw.'

Jumping to her feet and around, she relaxed at seeing the gently green eyes. 'Jesus Elijah!'

'Sorry darling, I had to take the opportunity.' He chuckled, taking a seat beside her. 'It's not every day I get to scare you.'

'You didn't scare me. You startled me. Big difference.' She mumbled. 'What are you doing here?'

'I was on my way to your coworker's apartment when I caught your scent here.' Nudging her to the side, he laid his head over her stomach. 'But I also caught something else.'

'Hmm? What's that?'

'Sadness. Anger.'

Alex knew this was going to happen. You can never hide anything from another wolf. 'It's nothing.'

'Alex.'

'What?'

'Talk to me.'

Looking out to the lake, she caught sight of the swans once more. The male was cover the female with his wing, protecting her from the wind and cold. 'I don't know what is happening. Today, I was hell-bent in attacking my mate.'

Elston jerked his head up, gapping at her. 'What happened?'

'I don't know. After you dropped me off, we headed to the office and started our day like any other. But Gibbs was off. He was short-tempered and easily angered.' Alex stopped, not sure she wanted to mention the rest.

Elston frowned. 'What did he do?'

'Do?'

'You were angry with him. He must have done something. What was it?' Getting no response, he jumped to his feet and stood in front of her. 'Alex what did he do?'

'He-he locked me in a kennel.'

'What?!' His voice came out all growl. Looking up at him, she flinched at the red in his eyes. He was fuming, as he paced. 'In a kennel! Who the fuck does he think he is?! If I ever see him, man, to man I am going to kill him!'

'Elston.'

'How could he do that?! You are not a dog-a pet to be put in a cage!' He kept his pacing, growling louder by the seconds

'Elijah.'

His back fur was raised, as he clawed at the ground. 'When I see him again, I am going to rip out his fucken thr-ooff.'

'Hey!' Alex stood over him, pinning him down on the ground. 'Take a deep breath and listen to me please.' Waiting for his nod, she continued. 'I don't know what came over me. After being in that kennel, I snapped. I tried to hurt him.'

Elston leaned up, nuzzling into her neck. 'It wasn't just you Alex. It was also him.' He chuckled at the confused look he received. 'We have the ability to feel the emotions of our mates. Even our human ones. As you would assume they are not as strong as with another wolf, but it's there and they can affect us. My guess if you were feeling whatever Gibbs was feeling.'

'So I wasn't going insane?'

He shook his head. 'No darling. But you need to be careful. Even if it's the most minimal feeling, he will feel what you feel as well. If you are angry, he will be affected by it as well.'

'I was hurt.' She didn't mean to sound weak, but at that moment she needed the comfort of her kind. To lean on someone strong. 'I know he doesn't know what or who I am, but it still hurts.'

'I know Alex.' Moving to lay beside her again, he pulled her half under his body. 'But no matter what I will always be here with you.'

'Thank you.'

"Luna wh-" Both Elston and Alex looked up to see Ziva and Eyal appear from behind.

"Whoa." Eyal huffed. "That's a big wolf."

Ziva chuckled, completely unfazed by the sight of another wolf. "I figured there was a reason she was running off so much. The vet did say she was going into heat pretty soon."

Elston raised a brow, glancing down at her. 'Is that so?'

'Don't go getting any bright ideas.' Pushing him off she shook herself. 'But he wasn't wrong. It's coming.'

Glancing at the two humans, then back at her he sighed. 'Are you off tomorrow?'

'Yeah, it's Saturday.'

'Alright, come to the cabin. We will talk this out and go from there.'

Alex suddenly began to get butterflies in her stomach. 'O-okay.' Getting a quick nuzzle he took off into the bushes. 'Holy shit what am I getting myself into.'

"Luna, come on let's go home." Ziva called.

Home. It has been a long time since anyplace has been home. And the one place she had come to call home was no more.

'Yeah, home.'
