Prompt: Write about hunger.
Lokson's stomach growled and he glanced at Slimmo, who had heard and tossed him a piece of dried apple from his belt pouch. Lokson smiled his thanks and ate it, but the ache in his stomach remained.
The ache wasn't all from hunger, either.
He had...behaved badly, as his father used to say. Everything that had happened hurt a lot, resting on his heart like a weight. He also missed Amber and—he never thought he'd think this—he missed Jo. Jo was a better buck than he, undoubtedly, yet Amber had stood by him and their engagement. He didn't deserve her.
His stomach growled again.
He was hungry for food and hungry for release from the guilt. If only food would cure that guilt as well as the hunger pains. Maybe this mission could do that.
Reply to Ann: That's a good idea! I just might do that. Thanks for the suggestion! (It seriously hadn't occurred to me, lol.) I think I'm going to work on that, soon! ;)
