Chapter 53 "More Guests?"
Scene (Dining Room of Yasaka Castle)
Still looking into the eyes of Ophis, Issei can't help but nod at her request while showing a blush. Meanwhile, the two silent angels look at each other in confusion. So many thing were happening all at once. So many questions were eating both of the minds of Irina and Gabriel. Deciding to finally speak up, (before Issei was allegedly taken to "no where", Gabriel was the one up to the task. "So, Issei?" Breaking eye contact with the black dragon of infinity, the teen turned his attention to the archangel. Attempting not to drool as this woman was also, (just like his new mates), incredibly beautiful, (though still kind of scary), Issei simply nodded while showing a half smile. Gabriel and Irina were both transfixed on the boy's new ears, tails, whiskers and especially, his eyes. "Last I checked, darling, you were a devil-boy with a dragon. So my question is…" Gabriel was cut off by Irina who jumped from her seat. "What happened to you, Issei kun!?" Irina then looked around the room, specifically at Yasaka. "It was you! You did something to my childhood friend!" Yasaka simply smiles in her usual crescent sort of fashion as she turns her gaze toward Issei. "I have a question for you. Irina, is it?" The fox queen changes her eye contact and directs it at the standing angel. "What have you done to MY Issei? What has your "peerage" done to him? What has your "king" done? Where were all of you when it happened, hmm?" Irina immediately sat down in a defeated sort of fashion. "But they aren't MY peerage, so that's…" Kuroka snaps back. "Yeah, but you were their friends and did missions with them, might was well have been in their group. Not to mention, weren't you there? You know, when Monster Bitch did the deed? So don't fucking act like you are innocent here!"
Yasaka then nods while maintaining her smile. "That's right. Your "boss" attempted to kill this boy for nothing more than petty and arrogant reasons. What I did to him, you ask? I, (along with the help of Kuroka and Ophis chan's), SAVED MY Issei's life. That's what I DID to him, thank you very much!" Yasaka's smile turned into an angry one. She then takes a deep breath and looks back at Issei, (who is looking a bit nervous from the outburst). Silence takes over the room for a moment, that is until Issei speaks. "It's true, Irina, Gabriel san, she, they all, saved my life in one way or another and I am eternally grateful. Also, Irina…" The angel twitched in her seat while looking back at the boy with wide eyes. "Do you want to know what they asked for in return? No, they didn't ask me to be their slave. No, they most certainly did not ask me to fight in petty things like raiding games. All they asked is that, is that…" Issei hears D'draig speak in his mind. "THE ONLY THING THEY WANT IS FOR YOU TO LOVE THEM, PARTNER, SAY IT." Instead of saying it, Issei ended up closing his eyes shut tightly while proceeding to yell out his comment at the top of his lungs.
"ALL YASAKA, KUROKA AND OPHIS WANT IS FOR ME TO L, LOVE THEM! NO FUCKING STRINGS ATTACHED! NO SERVENT AND MASTER RELATIONSHIP! NO CONFUSION! NO MANIPULATION! REAL! FUCKING! LOVE!" Issei then completely broke down while remembering the pain he felt from Rias. Not the physical pain she's causing, no, the emotional pain, the worst pain. Loss, Abandonment, Betrayal, all of it, bunched into one pattern. What was this pattern? It was in the shape of a certain raven haired fallen angel, long past dead. "Oh, Issei!" Yasaka stands from her seat and rushes toward a cowering brown haired teen, as his fox ears are lowered in a slumping position. Instantly Issei feels warmth as the fox queen now has the boy entirely enveloped in all nine of her giant and golden fox tails. Meanwhile, both of her hands were on Issei's face as their foreheads were now touching.
"Ara, ara, I am here, my little fox." Irina and Gabriel look on and have no words. Both girls look to have very glossy eyes. Irina cannot believe the mental state that her childhood friend is exhibiting. "Oh dear lord, this is so much worse than I originally thought. And now, look at him, so much stronger than before, but, at the same time, so very broken. I should have done something, the moment that bitch raised her fucking arm. I should've plunged the most jagged of lightspears into her belly! Okay wait, that's evil, I am better than this. Oh lord Michael, please forgive my vengeful thoughts…it's just, how could anyone do that to him? What was Rias thinking?" Irina now slumps further back into her chair as she places her face into both of her hands while beginning to cry. Gabriel notices this and simply places an arm over the crying angel's shoulder. "There, there, Irina chan, fret not, for Issei Hyoudou is alive and well. The grace of lord Michael must be with the boy. So please, feel at ease and rejoice, for we have received good news." Yasaka was about to protest but thought better of it, considering the weakened state of Issei's childhood friend. Eventually, Irina took her head out from her hands and looked around the room. She then stopped at an engulfed and cocooned Issei, (who's head was the only thing visible). Standing up while softly removing Gabriels arm, Irina speaks while walking closer toward Issei.
"I am so, so sorry, Ise. I didn't understand and that's no excuse. I am your friend and I should've been there for you. You could've told me about Raynare and Rias and I would've listened. But I never offered. That was my mistake. Considering how often you helped everyone in the peerage, even me. Well, I should've stepped up and I regret that. Can you please find it in your heart to forgive this wayword angel?" Irina now bows as she is only feet from a wrapped-up Issei. Yasaka notices tear drops falling to the floor from the bowing angel. Loosening her grip, the fox queen releases Issei as he himself has his jaw agape. Seeing the prostrating angel, no, seeing his best friend, bearing her soul to him, all Issei could do was rush toward Irina and embrace her. As Irina's face is now in Issei's chest, she felt warm arms wrapped around her. He smelled different than before. His body was more lean and his tails… Not only feeling the warm arms of the teen, Irina realized she was also feeling one, two, three, very fluffy and golden tails, wrapping around her as well. It was softer than she fantasized it would be. This was heaven. And to compare this to the real thing, well, Irina preferred this heaven instead. "I am sorry too, Irina. I just didn't want to go back, in fact, I still don't. No, it's not because of you, its not because of the peerage, hell, it's not even because of R, Rias." Issei took a moment so he could finish his speech without breaking down. "It's because of Sirzechs and Grayfia." Irina broke the hug and looked up at Issei with a questioning gaze. "What do you mean? Sirzechs is still your big sis, even with the peerage being disbanded, I know she cares for…" Issei then cut Irina off. "She loves me, Irina." Irina took a step back. Gabriel raises an eyebrow. "Her and Grayfia, they love me." Irina starts to shake her head back and forth. "That doesn't make any sense, I mean, wasn't Sirzechs grooming you to be Rias's husband?" Issei closes his eyes. "They are devils, Irina." Gabriel raises her other eyebrow.
"They were, in a way, going to share me. And, well…" Irina is now looking quite hysterical as she begins to pace around the room while she bites at one of her fists. "So you're telling me that Sirzechs, Grayfia, Rias, not to mention the peerage members. I mean, I know you wanted a harem but Issei?" Opening his eyes, Issei thrashes both of his hands into the air as if waving away a bunch of insects. "It wasn't my idea, jeez! Yeah, you're right about the harem thing, but I swear to you, I did nothing to get Sirzechs to do what she did, what she and Grayfia did…oooh shit.." Irina stops pacing and gives Issei a death stare. Meanwhile, Kuroka is clapping her hands in excitement. Yasaka sat back down and began sipping tea with her eyes closed. Ophis simply stared and continued to stare blankly toward her mate. "ISSEI!?" Rubbing the back of his head, Issei began to smile nervously. "What did they MAKE you do, Issei Hyoudou? What did Sirzechs and Grayfia do to you?" Irina was now stomping on the floor with her feet. Gabriel began to lightly snicker. "Hehehe, I think I know what's coming…oh my…" Irina, (while ignoring Gabriels statement), continues her death stare and begins to approach a nervous and smiling Issei. "Okay, okay, I'll talk! So, you know how everyone thought that Sirzechs and Grayfia, well, they were, you know, lesbians?" Irina slowly nods. "Yeah, well, erm, that's not the case, at all." The twin-braded brown-haired angel now widens her eyes in disbelief. "ISSEI HYOUDOU!"
