SR - Chapter 4 - Torn in Half

Amelia Watson was a fairly short blonde girl, wearing a uniform of some kind. Had Emersyn just grabbed her from her day job? That would've been a little rude. At least she wasn't kidnapped like in her own interview. But for some reason, she looked scared.

A whisper from Emersyn seemed to calm her down a little bit.

"W-who are you?" she asked shakily. Gura turned over on the couch.

"My name is Gawr Gura and your's is Amelia Watson, right?" she said energetically, as she hopped off the couch and began to make her way over. This seemed to scare Amelia even more.

"Y-yes," Amelia choked out. Gura slowled her approach.

"Hey, you don't need to be scared of me," she pulled back on her lip, revealing the numerous, razor-sharp teeth she had, "I might look a little scary, but I'm not going to hurt you." Amelia seemed noticeably calmed by this.

Emersyn whispered something else to Amelia, which seemed to help even more.

"So what makes you special?" Gura asked, walking around Amelia from a slight distance. Gura had learned very quickly not to judge based on appearances. Some of the scariest beings she'd seen here at Hololive looked the most normal.

Amelia seemed to want Emersyn to explain for her, so she did, "Ms. Watson is a time traveler. She says that she knew you in her previous timeline and that something terrible had happened."

"Wow! So you can time travel? That's so cool!" Gura leapt into the air with a small hop. She completely missed the part where Amelia had known her before. "I'm an Atlantean. I'm super fast and strong and can breathe underwater."

"T-that's pretty cool," Amelia said. She still seemed nervous, but much less.

"Did you also know Ina in your timeline, too?" Gura asked, only now paying attention to that part. This seemed to make Amelia uncomfortable.

"Y-yeah, I did…" Amelia began to step backwards behind Emersyn.

"What are the chances of that! I'll go get here right now!" Gura ran off towards Ina's room to go grab her. She heard Emersyn call her name, but she ignored it. Ina had to see this cool new person.

She barged into Ina's room with a massive smile. Ina yelped in surprise and dropped the pen she was using to draw.

"You scared me, Gura!" she said breathing out all the air she'd just sucked in.

"Ina, you've got to come downstairs!" Gura went over and grabbed her friend by the wrist and began to lead her down to the lounge. Ina protested slightly, but seemed interested in whatever Gura was talking about. The both of them arrived back at the lounge and Gura opened the door.

"I brought Ina!" Amelia's eyes wandered over and saw the two standing there. Ina hid the best she could behind Gura, but her friend was so small that it was difficult to hide completely.

"Gura, why'd you drag me out here so fast?" Ina's question was soon answered when she saw the new person standing by her manager.

But as quick as she'd seen her, the girl ran out of the room just as fast.

"Ms. Watson!" Emersyn called out, "You two, stay here," she commanded before running off after Amelia.

Gura and Ina were just left standing there, wondering what had just happened.

"So who was that, Gura?" Ina broke the silence between them.

"That was the new girl…" Gura said slowly. Had she scared her that badly? But she knew her and Ina, so why would she have been afraid of them? Those questions would be answered shortly when Emersyn returned to the lounge.

"What was that about?" Gura asked immediately. Emersyn sighed.

"Ms. Watson isn't feeling well. You both should give her a little space and time before trying to talk to her again," Emersyn said sternly. Gura didn't like those words.

"Why? I thought she knew us? Why would she be afraid?" she spouted a series of questions. Emersyn sighed.

"I'm not at liberty to tell you everything, but she is surprised by your differences to the ones she knew. She just needs time to adjust…" Emersyn said the last part a little quieter, as if she was unsure about its legitimacy.

"But, I want to go see her, Enma!" Gura said, trying her hardest to sound convincing.

"You can't, Ms. Gawr. Ms. Watson isn't feeling well and needs time to recover," Emersyn repeated herself.

"If she's a time traveler then I'm sure she has all the time she needs!" Gura responded snarkily. Ina tried her best to hold in a laugh.

"I don't think you know how it works." Emersyn put a hand on her forehead.

"Neither do you, I bet!" Gura threw back.

"You are correct, but I do know that she can't do that right now." Emersyn became slightly agitated with the argument.

"She doesn't want to see us, Gura," Ina's quiet voice interjected. Gura and Emersyn turned to look at her.

"What do you mean? She was just afraid of how we look," Gura explained with false confidence.

"I can't disclose why she isn't feeling well, but rest assured it will only get worse if you go see her." Emersyn stated harshly this time. Her agitation grew even more with each word.

"Gura, she might be afraid of how you look, but it was different with me," Ina's voice trembled as the words left her mouth, "It's just like how it's always been…" Her voice fully trailed off at the end.

"Ina that's not true. Everyone is only scared of us because they don't know who, or what, we are," Gura spoke in a lighter voice this time. Emersyn sighed.

"Ms. Watson will talk to you both when she feels better," Emersyn's voice softened from her previous tone, but it was still evident that she wasn't going to back down. The door to the lounge cracked open. Amelia had returned.

"Enma," she called out from the crack. Even though Gura could fully see her, she knew the new girl was there.

"Amelia!" she called out before darting towards the door. She only made it a short distance before she was intercepted by a very angry Emersyn. Gura was forced back by the drawn katana in her manager's hand. She slashed at the blade, but it was easily deflected.

"What the hell do you think you're doing Ms. Gawr!" Emersyn was now incredibly angry towards the Atlantean, who in turn also looked incredibly angry back at her.

"You always said I should make friends with people, and yet here you are trying to stop me from doing just that!" Gura stood with her hands pulled into a claw shape, ready to strike at any point.

"I think you are mistaken. I never told you to aggressively pursue someone who hasn't shown any interest in being near you yet." Emersyn stood in a fighting stance as well, her katana's blade pointed straight at Gura's chest.

"Well then let's ask her shall we? Hey Amelia, do you want me to talk to you?" Gura called out to the girl just beyond the door. It was hard to contain her anger, but she tried her best to not sound angry.

"I-I," Amelia started before stopping. Gura wondered what she was trying to say before a realization hit her. Her rage was continuing to build. When was the last time she'd eaten? It had been a few days. Uh no…

"Ms. Gawr, back up or I'm going to be forced to make you," Emersyn commanded. Gura's eyes shifted back towards her manager. They widened as she tried to suppress her Primal instincts. Why did they have to come out now? She would need to eat later.

"I'm so sorry. I'm not Primal, see? I'm fine and in control, Enma," Gura begged Emersyn. shifted her stance to one of scared defense. Emersyn noticed these changes and lowered her katana. However, she didn't not put it back into its sheath.

"Ms. Watson, I don't believe that now is a good time for you to speak to either of them," Emersyn spoke to her without turning. Her focus was still on Gura.

"I want to talk to Gura," Amelia said as clearly as she could. Now Emersyn turned so she could see Amelia.

"Are you sure? Ms. Gawr might be dangerous right now."

"I thought you said they weren't dangerous?!" Emersyn sighed.

"I'll accompany both of you to a conference room," Emersyn addressed Gura and Amelia before turning to look at Ina who was in the very back of the room. "Ms. Ninomae, do you also want to talk to Ms. Watson after Ms. Gawr is finished?" Ina seemed to try to shrink into herself when she was spoken to.

"I-I think she doesn't want to talk to me…" Ina trailed off, noticing the look of disgust Amelia was giving her. Emersyn turned to Amelia.

"Do you wish to talk to Ms. Ninomae?" Amelia visibly gulped, trying to steady herself.

"Yes, I do." Emersyn nodded and looked back to Ina.

"O-ok. I want to, too." Ina attempted a smile towards Amelia. Amelia's expression softened a little bit in response.

"Alright, Ms. Gawr follow me, but don't approach Ms. Watson," she told Gura before walking over to Amelia. Gura had an expression of dissatisfaction on her face. She didn't move an inch from where she stood. Ina shrank into herself even further and dropped onto a nearby chair. Emersyn closed the door when she was finished speaking and walked back over to Gura.

"I think you need something to eat," she said coldly. Gura nodded and followed her manager over to the fridge and grabbed a bottle from it. Inside the bottle was what she'd been using to sustain herself.

It was a mixture of Ina's tentacles and other nutrient rich ingredients. It staved off her hunger well enough that she hadn't had any Primal episodes while being there. Well, except for that close call a few minutes ago.

"I'm feeling better now," she said nervously to Emersyn. The woman next to her observed her for a moment.

"Alright, let's head over. Follow me and don't get near Ms. Watson unless I say you can." Gura nodded sadly.

Amelia quickly adjusted to her new lifestyle at Hololive over the next few weeks. Her and Gura quickly grew close, spending many nights talking until the sun was almost back up. Ina tried to not let it get on her nerves, but she did want to talk to both Gura and Amelia more.

One night was a particularly late night for Gura and Amelia. So much so, that for the first time Gura fell asleep in Amelia's bed. This would've been a dream come true for a younger Amelia, but now she didn't know how she felt.

Her feelings had done nothing but hurt her and her friends before and this was a completely different Gura. Even though they acted similar, their physical differences just made it hard to say they were the same person. But all things considered, Amelia knew she harbored slight feelings towards the Atlantean.

The night progressed normally until Amelia rolled a little too close to the sleeping Gura. Her hand came to rest on Gura's side. After a few minutes of sitting there, a tingling sensation spread across Gura's body.

A dream suddenly came to her. She was in a dark part of the ocean. The distinct scent of blood ran its way up her nose. Normally, this would've been a lead for her to find some fish to eat, but she found it repulsive. Something about it just rubbed her the wrong way.

A dark shadow slowly faded in around her. She could just barely make it out as it circled her. She felt the overwhelming sensation of being hunted. Was this how her prey felt just before she struck out at them?

The shadow continued to come closer and closer, letting Gura get a better look at it. The shadow resembled a human. That couldn't be right, so it had to be an Atlantean. This was a really weird dream…

The shadow suddenly jumped at her. Gura screamed underwater, letting out a massive cloud of bubbles in front of her. This clouded her vision so she couldn't see what was coming at her. She tried to command her body to swim away, but it didn't listen.

When the bubbles cleared, she got a full view of what the shadow was.

It was her.

Gawr Gura stared right back at her from only a few inches away.

Except her eyes were red, like she was Primal. A massive amount of terror washed over her, threatening to crush her mind.

"W-who…" she stumbled over her words. The mirror image of herself laughed. It sounded like pure evil, or at least the closest thing to it.

"I'm you, bitch!" it spat at her. The words dripped with malice and ill-intent. Still though, Gura could not swim away. She was rooted in place by both the dream and her fear.

"Why?" she asked shortly. The other Gura started to look angry.

"So all you can do is ask one word questions? God you're pathetic. I can't believe that this is who I turned into. What a fucking wet blanket." The smell of death drifted out of the other Gura's mouth. It was the same smell as the one in her house when she'd found her parents murdered.

"What do you want…" Gura pushed out of her mouth. It was difficult to talk because of how bad the smell was getting.

"I want your body," the other Gura said with so much malice it finally scared Gura out of her dream.

But she didn't fully wake up. She saw flashes of herself standing up and looking down at Amelia's sleeping form. A face-splitting smile grew across her face. Her eyes were blood red.

Oh shit.

Gura tried the hardest she'd ever tried to break out of her Primal state. This shouldn't be happening, she'd just eaten earlier that day.

'That's because you need to see that you belong in the sea, a shark is all you'll ever be!' the other Gura's voice came to her.

Amelia rolled around in the bed before opening her eyes. Something felt off in the room around her. She quickly found out what it was.

Primal Gura stared at her, mouth dripping with saliva.

"Holy FUCK!" Amelia screamed as Gura leapt at her. Thankfully, she was able to make Gura just phase through her. She didn't know how long her sleepy reactions would last, though. "HELP, SOMEONE FUCKING HELP!" she called out desperately. Gura leapt at her again and failed to strike again.

Amelia rolled and fell out of the bed onto the floor. Gura jumped onto the bed like a wild animal before dropping down on top of Amelia.

"Gura! Gura! Wake up! WAKE THE FUCK UP!" Amelia pleaded with her friend. Gura continued to try and take back control, but found it impossible. She was completely locked out of her own body.

Primal Gura let out slash after slash and cut into the floor underneath Amelia. The time traveler let the attacks phase through her, but with the panicked state she was in, it was only a matter of time before one hit. She couldn't focus on destabilizing herself for much longer.

Mercifully, a purple tentacle smacked Primal Gura off of her. She crashed into the wall, nearly breaking straight through it. Amelia looked up and saw Ina breathing heavily with multiple tentacles summoned to defend her.

Emersyn also entered the room, katana drawn. "Ms. Watson!" she yelled out, "are you ok? Are you hurt?!"

"I'm f-fine," she stammered out a reply. She was really shaken up and couldn't stand just yet. A low pitched growl emanated from where Gura was pinned, drawing the attention of all three women in the room.

Primal Gura tore through Ina's tentacle in an instant and shot after the Priestess. Emersyn blocked the strike and engaged the feral girl. Ina wanted to fire paralyzing magic, but in such close quarters she worried she may accidentally hit Amelia or Emersyn. With them both being human, it would deal massive damage and probably send them into a coma.

"Enma, bring Gura out into the hallway!" she asked with the loudest voice she could muster. She thought she saw her manager nod, but she did see the fight slowly begin moving its way outside of the room.

Emersyn dodged out of the way of one of Primal Gura's lunges, which sent the crazed girl soaring out into the hall. She then threw her katana at her and pinned Primal Gura to the wall by her clothing.

"NOW INA!" she screamed out, dropping all formalities for a quicker command. Ina fired her magic and hit Primal Gura center mass. She writhed in pain before slumping to the ground.

It was over.

Author's Note: Here she comes...

Primal Gura's true colors are here and on full display. Seems like she is even meaner in person. She is probably my favorite part of this story, as there is a lot more to see here than just the surface level. Along with that, this is going to open a few doors that I have been waiting to do for a long time.

The recap at the beginning wasn't too boring I hope. I wanted to show how Gura has changed being at Hololive before her outburst. She's still a bit socially inept, but she tries her best to get to know people.

There are only two more chapter in this part, but they are going to be a roller coaster. After that the chapter releases are going to slow down by quite a bit. The next part is where I'm currently writing the story.

Next Chapter: What does she want?
