I know, I know. I'm painfully slow at this _ sorry guys! It's hard to balance work, studying, and training with this but never fear! I will always update.. Eventually
Disclaimer: I do not own My Hero or Disturbed.
Get up, get up
Well, are you ready now
For the revolution
For too long your power has been taken away
It's been taken away
Does your heart feel heavy now
Savor the solution
Take those mental shackles off and throw them away
You've got to get them out of your mind
Don't you let their vision leave you blind
Moving steady now
It's a revelation
For so long your focus has been taken away
Now you're breaking away
She entered the classroom, her eyes immediately met Bakugo's from across the room briefly as she hesitantly looked at the seating chart on the board.
Naturally
Aizawa had seated her in front of the egomaniac, himself. There was no way that this was an accident. Damn. He had absolutely no chill, he was already trying to throw her off her game on the first day, first thing when she got into the classroom.
She inwardly groaned.
Great. This was going to be fun.
When Miyuki had first come to live with Aizawa, she was withdrawn. As the years went on, Miyuki started getting into more and more violent altercations with girls, and even guys, that would bully her the same way her foster sisters once had. It was like something in her finally snapped and she had decided that she was done being the victim. She was always angry, read to take on the whole world to prove to herself and everyone else that she was strong.
Needless to say, Aizawa helped her nip that attitude before any serious harm was done to her future. However, she still has a residual temper at times, especially in the presence of certain people.
Loud mouthed, arrogant people.
People like Katsuki, Bakugo.
Whatever. It wouldn't work. This asshole wouldn't break her, not even close. Bring it.
With a re-newed resolve she took her seat in front of him, not even sparing him a side glace. She could sense him staring at the back of her head but she ignored the erge to turn around and instead pulled out a book. There was still some time before class started and her mind was growing restless.
Miyuki seemed to be reading but in all reality, she was scoping out her fellow classmates. To her right sat a student with, what appeared to be, multiple appendages of some kind. He, like her, also wore a mask covering the lower half of his face. Though his continued down his neck and disappeared into his uniform. He was also in excellent physical condition. The guy was a brick wall! A one on one fight with that guy would be extremely challenging for someone with her fighting style.
Behind him sat a girl with purple hair that she had met at the Entrance Exams.
They had both been listening to music when they noticed each other. As of mirroring one another, they both took out a single bud
"Nice hair"
Miyuki looked at her in awe for a moment before giggling and replying, "Right back at you," with a mock wink.
The girl must have noticed Miyuki as well, because she slid out from behind her desk and began her decent to Miyuki's desk. She felt oddly nervous as the familiar girl came to a stop in front of her desk.
"I never got a chance to properly introduce myself at the exams, so I'm pretty stoked that we ended up in the same class. You can call me Jirou if you like," Jirou then held out her hand in a friendly manner.
Miyuki hesitated before shyly taking her outstretched hand into her own, " I'm Miyuki. Miyuki, Yumeko."
Their wholesome moment was interrupted when a dark haired student with glasses flashed through the aisle, making an abrupt stop in front of Bakugo's desk.
Some sort of speed quirk she quietly observed as she turned around in curiosity.
That's the guy from the Entrance Exams who criticized the school's competency for a supposed type on the handout. She realized.
Before she could make another coherent thought, the door to the class slid open partially which went unnoticed to everyone but Miyuki as the dark haired boy exclaimed sternly, "Take your feet off that desk now!"
He seemed to be a real stickler for order and lawfulness. She knew that kind of black and white thinking could easily become a powerful asset to a pro hero, but it also become a hindrance to his empathy which was something all pro heros needed to be truly great.
However, his stern words had no effect on Bakugo as a cocky smirk came across his face as he retorted with an amused, "Huuhh?"
"It's the first day and you're already disrespecting this academy by scuffing school property, you cretin!" He spat back at him.
"You're kidding me, right! Your old school put a stick up your ass or were you born with it?" As crude as it might be, Miyuki couldn't help but agree with him. This was over the top, even for Yuuei.
The intense classmate seemed to realize himself with an audible sigh, "Let's start over," He suggested, "I'm Tenya, Iida from Someone Private Academy."
Well that explains a lot She thought as a sweat drop formed on the back of her head.
Bakugo, who must have shared the same sentiment, replied, "Somei, huh? So you must think you're better than me? I'm going to have fun tearin' you a new one!"
And I am going to have fun tearing you one She thought to herself as she rolled her eyes.
Iida gasped once again, looking appalled at what he'd just heard. Though he shouldn't be surprised, he had come up to him in an aggressive manner first, after all.
"You would threaten me? Your own classmate? Are you sure that you're in the right place?" He inquired I'm a cirtical manner.
Bakugo simply plopped back into his seat with a, "Hah."
Iida and Bakugo, finally taking their heads out of each other's asses, suddenly noticed the nervous looking green haired boy that had just arrived moment ago.
"It's him," Iida simply stated, directing the attention of their classmates, who had all been watching their confrontation, to the now sweating and panicking newcomer still standing in the doorway.
The poor guy was such a wreck, he couldn't even look at anybody as he stammered, "Uh hi," as he gripped his backpack straps for dear life.
"Good Morning!" Iida greeted him, seeming to already forget his business with Bakugo, at least for the time being, as he strolled towards him.
"My name is Tenya, Iida-" He began but was cut off mid sentence by the nervous boy, "Yeah. I-I know. I'm Izuki, Midoriya. It's super nice to meet you."
Izuki Midoriya? Miyuki's eyes widened in realization. He's the kid that got 0 villain points but placed 7th off rescue points alone. He had even taken down a 0 pointer in one hit. He was not one to be underestimated. She noted.
"Midoriya, you knew that there was something more to the practical exam, didn't you?" Iida accused. For a former Somei, he was a bit dense. More times than not, there is more than meets the eye. She would be lying if she said she knew exactly what the perimeters we're going to be, but even so she (with her so-so public school education) suspected.
"Huh?" Midoriya deadpanned, clearly clueless. But Iida continued, also quite cluelessly, "You must be very perceptive. And I completely misjudged you, I admit. As a student, you are far superior to me."
Jeez everyone in this class this overly dramatic? Miyuki thought as she stopped listening and laid her head down on her desk. She was already mentally exhausted and ready for a nap.
Afraid she might actually fall asleep, she lifted her head from her desk. She couldn't help but notice that Bakugo was watching that Midoriya kid with narrow eyes. The way he was watching him, reminded her of a predator watching their prey. Miyuki internally shivered. They definitely had history.
Bakugo turned to glare at her so she twirled back around sheepishly at being caught. "What?! Done being nosey already? You know what they say about curiosity and the cat, right?"
Miyuki rolled her eyes and continued to ignore the angry teenager behind her. As if she'd never heard that one before. Though one thing was for sure, he knew what her quirk was. He, too, had seen her at the Entrance Exams. Good. She'd hate to completely blindsided him when she inevitably took his spot as #1, that's no fun.
Aizawa's familiar voice broke through her thoughts, "If you're here to make friends then you can pack up your stuff now."
A sweat drop formed on the back of Miyuki's head as she realized that he was laying in the middle of the hallway in his signature yellow sleeping bag. Oh how embarrassing! I'm glad no one knows my connection to him in this moment. What a goof! She thought as she shook her head, a small smile forming her lips.
"Welcome to the Yuuei Hero Course," He state simply, sucking his weird food packet dry.
How lame Senpai-sama
We were then instructed to change into our gym uniforms and meet up outside.
Miyuki was the first one changed and out on the grounds. She took advantage of the head start and began to stretch. About halfway through, she noticed a few students trickle in. Once everyone was ready Aizawa announced that they would be beginning with a quirk assessment test, to many of the other student's dismay. Miyuki couldn't care less, she wasn't here for festivities such as orientation.
She had heard similar speeches from him and she could feel herself starting loose focus until Aizawa called Bakugo to the field to pitch using his quirk. He was cocky as usual, she couldn't help but notice.
The pitch he threw using his explosion quirk was so intense that her hair whipped around her face which was frozen in awe. She was grateful for her mask hiding her reaction in that moment. When Aizawa showed his score it was clear that he could back it up.
Her classmates must have felt equally inspired by seeing that sort of raw power because everyone around her was buzzing with excitement. Their teacher, however, interrupted it as them not taking it seriously as he broke through the commotion, "So this is fun, huh? You have three years here to become a hero," He lectured, "You think it's all going to be games and play time? Idiots. Today you'll complete in 8 physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last, has none and will be expelled immediately." Although she didn't express it aloud, this turn of events was causing her as much anxiety as it did her fellow classmates but she kept her mind focused on the objective. That was the only thing that mattered.
Thank you for your patience! I appreciate all the comments, follows, and favorites! I love hearing your thoughts. A lot of this chapter was from the show so it was a very difficult chapter to write and be interesting but here it is, warts and all..
