Chapter 8: A deal with Evol

*Flashback 12 years ago*

Delphin hesitates at the thought of waking Poseidon so early in the morning. But he had said to come in as soon as he had found something in the Ancient Scrolls.

He knocks. Slowly opening the door he steps in to find Poseidon sitting up and deep in thought.

"Delphin. What have you found? " Poseidon asks.

"Well Sir. I have found a similar instance that Artemis herself was a part of. Do you remember the Minotaur? Well it seems that Artemis had a hand to play in the early stages of the pregnancy where she put the genes of a bull into the unborn child."

"Yes... I remember that. Does it say how she did it?"

"No sir it doesn't." Delphin replies

"Well let's ask Artemis then."

Poseidon walks over to a shell full of water sitting on the dresser.

"Artemis." He says to the shell.

Artemis' Tent comes into view through the Shell.

"Yes Poseidon?"

"Artemis. We have found a solution. Do you remember the Minotaur? and how you were able to change his DNA to be half man and half bull?"

"Yes I do. But I never did that." Artemis confesses.

"What do you mean?"

"It was someone else who did it for me. I just told her what I wanted to happen. and then I swore her into a secrecy oath that if she breaks will cause her to implode on herself."

"Her? You don't mean..."

"Yes I do. And the answer lies with her... but I really don't want to have to go to her. Not for this."

"You may just have to Artemis. It seems like its the only way."

"If we must." Artemis sighs.

Break the Line and insert some text to show a new paragraph.

Aphrodite was just a little bit confused when Artemis appeared in her room.

"Excuse me Artemis, but I am busy and I don't like when people just show up, especially when I have such a great love tragedy to deal with."

" Aphrodite I need a favour. And I need it now."

" Fine. What can I do for you. .. wait. .. something is different. ." Aphrodite says excitedly". oooh. I think I know what you want. I wonder how Zeus would take this... or even Hera.. I can't wait to find out who the lucky man is."

Artemis quickly rushes forward and grabs the Love goddess, and with a look of menace in her eyes, holds her dagger to her throat

"Don't you dare!"

"What do you have to offer then? I can sense that you want me to do a similar thing as what we did with the Minotaur... Ooh can I choose who he falls in love with. Yes that's what I want."

"No. Wait. .. it's a boy. My baby will be a boy?!" Artemis beamed. She shakes her head to clear her thoughts. "No. You aren't allowed to influence him. Not in the slightest, I don't want you controlling his life. Give me some time and let me think about what I can offer you. But will you do it for me?"

"Of course. You are one of my favourites." Aphrodite said smiling wide.

Later that day

"Poseidon. How do I do this. I don't know how to satisfy Aphrodite and still keep my sanity over what she wants. Above that I want to let him have a normal life, well as normal for a demigod. How do I change his looks enough so that he won't look like me and completely give it away , And who will look after him. I can't have him with me in the hunt. That would only give it away. Uncle Poseidon do you have anyone that could look after him"

Poseidon looked at her with love and and concern. " Artemis it will be okay. I have been thinking about a few of these things myself, and yes there is someone who I think would be a great mother for him."

" Uncle, thank you. I wish that it was not all so complicated. I don't know anyone else that I can get to help me. But Uncle could I ask you to use your power so that he looks like you."

" Artemis. You do remember the pact that me and my brothers made to not have any children. If he looks like me and it is my power that he has, then he will be hunted by every monster known to demigod. Not to mention that Zeus would put a bounty on his head."

" I know Uncle. But I certainly do not want him to be like Aphrodite, and I am not telling anyone else about this, so I want someone who isn't spewing love all the time. And I know you will protect him. Please Uncle, it would mean the world to me." Artemis pleads.

Poseidon looks at her. Takes a moment to weigh up the choices and nods his head. "Of course I will. "

Artemis hugs Poseidon with tears of Joy. "Thank you, thank you." she exclaims." Ohk. Now what do we do with Aphrodite? How do I make a deal with Evol?"

Poseidon looks at Artemis deep in thought. " I think I have an Idea"
