Chapter 9: Wise Goodbye and memories planted

Last day of Camp for Summer

Sleeping in an almost deserted Cabin was a young boy. Who had only hours ago turned 13. His Raven black hair all messed up, showing signs of a long deep sleep. His right arm, slightly tanned and less scrawny, was lying crushed between his upper body and the mattress of the bed.

It was about 8:30 when a blonde haired, grey eyed girl Snuck in the cabin. A bucket of water at the ready in one hand and a pillow in the other. (Just in case).

Standing right next to his bed she loudly says. "Percy get up, you have to pack. "

"Alright mum 5 minutes, " He mumbles out.

"Fine then," The girl replies. Dropping the pillow at a safe distance, she grabs the bucket and gets ready to douse the Son of Poseidon in water in an attempt to wake him up.

Annabeth winds up and throws the bucket of water on to him

The water flies out of the bucket all over the sleeping teen. The bucket hits the wall and barely misses Percy's face.

But to no avail as she sees the water dry up and the drool come out of his mouth.

Annoyed that the bucket didn't work. Annabeth bends down and grabs the fluffy white pillow. With a menacing smile she raises it over her head as she moves to the head of the bed.

With a thundering force she brings the pillow down hard and fast. But with Lightning quick reflexes Percy grabs his pillow and deflects the Athenian attack, before rolling over into a defensive stance. Annabeth a little stunned gathers her wits about her and goes in for another attack. After a few parries and body shots from both sides Annabeth gets Percy in the jaw with enough force that he is knocked off his feet.

Reveling in her victory Annabeth doesn't notice 2 figures behind her with Pillows at the ready.

Percy looks up just in time to see Annabeth whacked by the two trouble makers making her fall forward on to him.

"Don't worry Perce, we've got your back," Travis says smiling. "Have fun you two," Connor says mockingly to the collided mess, before walking to the front door.

Travis opens the door smirking at his brother and turns just in time to see a green blur whack into his face before sending him back into Percy's cabin.

"Travis! What did you do to my Cabin!" Katie yells

Conner starts laughing at Travis and then gets a pillow to the gut as Katie hits him with her pillow.

Annabeth seeing this as a perfect time to help Katie beat the twins up and quickly gets off of Percy.

Percy grabs her foot and trips her up. He grabs his pillow and goes to join the fray to help Conner off of the floor as Travis gets pummeled by Katie.

But Annabeth sweeps his feet from under him and he lands on the floor again. Annabeth gets up and grabs her pillow as Percy again tries to get up and deals him blows that only Athenas kids could pull off. The Seaweed Brain now winded decides to stay down for a little bit.

Annabeth moves onto Travis who had just gotten up and whacks him with enough force to wind a hell hound making him fall onto Katie.

Now to say this was a normal occurrence for Cabin 3 would not be completed without Grover. Who charging in tackles Conner who had gotten up to protect Travis from Annabeth's body shots.

All tied up, Percy Travis and Conner sit in their plant enclosure (Courtesy of a certain child of Demeter) while other campers occasionally walk past as they get ready for there return home to the normal world.

After Being released Percy, Annabeth and Grover walked around the Camp for a little bit. Percy was the only one leaving of course and he hadn't even started to pack. But he just wanted to spend some time with his two best friends and talk about all the memories that had been planted during their time on the quest and since they returned. He even told them about how his mom had gotten rid of Gabe. Something which they all laughed at.

Later that Day

Percy, all packed for home, headed with his bags away from the cabins and across the strawberry fields. As he is walking past he notices a familiar head of brown hair on her knees. Percy looked at her and decided that it would be wise to say goodbye to her.

He found it amazing how determined she was to make sure everything was perfect before she left. Sweat beaded her forehead. "Hey Katie," he says smiling.

She looks up at him and smiles back, "Hey Perce, do you want to help?"

Percy nods his head and begins to follow what Katie is doing. Although it is not the first time he has helped, he still finds the look of concentration on Katies face mesmerising.

"So Percy, you are going back to New York? " She asks.

"Yeah I am. My mum just got a new apartment for us." Percy replies

" Wow that's pretty cool. Are you excited?"

"Yeahp definitely" Percy says. What about you? Are you going back to Virginia?"

Katie sighs. "Yes I am. I am going to miss the strawberry fields. But at least I have my garden at home that I can focus on."

"That's good" Percy replies. Not really knowing what else to say, he pauses. "I'm going to miss you Katie, you are one of my best friends. Even if you do get annoyed at the twins and I."

Katie looks at him, her smile growing wider. "I'm going to miss you too."

Percy gives her a hug before grabbing his bags again and heading off to the camp van. He gives the strawberry fields one last look and waves.
