Next Chapter:
The next morning, we headed back to the office. Tim had finally been able to get an Id on the victim, so Gibbs called us in earlier. Ziva had refused to eat anything this morning, due to her morning sickness. In fact, we both did. I took one whiff of the meat and I was close to spilling my last night dinner. We still weren't too sure what other effects Ziva will have, but I assured Eyal I would keep a close eye on her. As for myself, I needed to start getting ready. If my calculations were correct Ziva would have her children before or at the same time I would. To be honest I was hoping Ziva had her pups after.
Walking into the bullpen, I spotted Gibbs and Mcgee standing in front of the screen. At the moment I wasn't too involved in the case; I just knew to get ready the moment I was needed. Crawling under Ziva's desk, I curled myself up listening in on their conversation.
"Luna?" Gibbs reached for the vest and collar. "Let's go." I wasn't sure as to why I even needed the damn vest, but it is what it is. In truth honest, the vest didn't bother me as much as the collar. Damn thing had a large badge on the side. It bothered me every time I tried turning my head to the left. The vest was a black tactical harness, snugging onto my body. I nearly snapped at seeing Gibbs attach the leash onto my collar. Since when the hell do I need one of these! "Dinozzo."
"On your six boss." Tony grabbed his bag, stepping up behind Gibbs. "Hey, you haven't forgotten about that screensaver have you, Ziva?"
"Actually, I had." Ziva narrowed her eyes at Tim, stalking towards him. "Thanks for reminding me."
"What are friends for?" Tony chuckled.
The last thing I saw was Ziva cornering Tim by his desk. 'Sorry Timmy, can't help you.'
Gibbs pulled up at a dump of a place. The trash piled up on the side. The weeds are overgrown along the walking path. It made it harder to distinguish the scents, but I picked up on two human scents. Trotting closer to the garage, I picked up the sound drumming. Just as I was about to catch Gibbs's attention, a woman's scream erupted from inside the garage. Gibbs and Tony busted through the door, only to find a couple playing the drums and bass.
"Hey!" Getting no acknowledgment, he pulled the aux cord from the amplifier.
"We closed the garage door!" The drummer growled, chucking the drum sticks to the side.
Getting hit by said sticks, I snapped them in half, baring my teeth at him. 'Hit me again asshat!'
"What the hell man!" Drummer jumped to his feet, hiding behind Tony. "What the hell is that?"
Tony stepped away from him, in a side step. "A poodle, what else could she be."
"Well, your poodle just broke my sticks." He yelled.
"Be lucky that poodle didn't snap your neck." Gibbs grumbled. "When did you last see Billy?"
Drummer scoffed, pushing the garage door open. "Billy disappeared, I don't know, about a week ago. Owes me a couple of months' rent. Figured he was just skipping out on us."
"I can't believe he's dead." Bass girl gasped.
I picked up on a slight scent coming from Tony. 'Seriously Tony? You're worse than a dog.'
"Were you and he?" Tony asked.
The girl laughed. "No. My god, never."
"No, just every other guy in the zip code." Drummer said.
Bass girl shoved him playfully, turning her attention back to Tony. "We were just roommates."
"That's actually the name of our band, just roommates." Drummer jumped in. "Billy was our lead guitarist. Until I found a new one. The guy just didn't get it."
"It?" Tony asked.
Drummer snickered. "If you have to ask, you obviously don't get it either."
"Need to see his room." Gibbs said.
Bass girl gestured to the garage. "This is his room, Agent...?"
"Gibbs."
"Gibbs." She pulled out a flirty smile. "That's an interesting name."
I perked up at catching the same scent Tony had, coming from her. Growling lowly, I stood beside Gibbs. Leaning against his leg. 'Do not make me rip your throat out.' Seeing her eyes locked on Gibbs, was raising a rage in me.
"So now that he's dead, Agent interesting name, if he has any money anywhere, you know with the rent he owes us, that would be really..." Gibbs ignored the man, walking past him into the garage. I trotted behind him, snapping at the girl from getting too close to him. "Okay."
While Gibbs and Tony busied themselves with searching the garage, I kept an eye on the two others. I was no stranger to seeing others flirt with Gibbs, but that didn't mean I had to like it or deal with it.
"What happened? Was it a robbery?" Bass girl asked.
Tony turned to her with a charming smile. "Well, that's what we're trying to figure, ma'am."
I scoffed. 'Give it up Tony. She is not into you.'
"Should I make you a list?" She asked Gibbs. "You know, people he knew, phone numbers and stuff?" She gave him the same smile as before. "I watch a lot of tv."
'I am this close to tearing your face off.' Growling lowly, I was suddenly pulled back by Gibbs. 'I just want to talk.'
"Whatever you got." Gibbs replied. "Behave yourself." He whispered to me.
'I will if she does.'
"Who was the last one to see him?" Tony asked.
"I did."
'She did it!'
"He said he was going out for a beer. Never came back."
"He does that sometimes." Drummer butted in. "The guy's got no focus, and I told him when I let him in the band, I needed a lead that I could count on. You know, no amateurs need apply."
"Boss, check this out." Tony held a photo of some sorts. "Do you know where this was taken?"
"Yeah. Why?" Bass girl frowned.
"We are going to need the address." Gibbs mumbled, taking the picture with him.
Time jump:
I trotted in after Gibbs, who in turn ran up to Leon's office. I made my way over to Ziva, nuzzling, my head into her hand. Getting a scratch behind the ear, she gathered with Tim and Tony. They were currently trying to figure out what the clues meant in the latest video. I only caught snips of the conversations. Tim mentioned something about convents and killer nuns.
'Who hurt you, Tim?' Just as Gibbs walked back into the bullpen, I caught the unpleasant scent of bass girl. 'You have got to be kidding me. Why is she here?'
"I might be able to help with that. Those videos are all over the news. As soon as I saw them, I knew I had to come in."
I walked over to Gibbs, growling at her to step back. 'You could have just called.'
"I think I know who made them."
'Still could have called!' I snapped.
"Luna." Gibbs pulled me back. "Stay."
Tim held me by the vest as Gibbs, Ziva, and bass girl left to for the conference room.
'She better have something good.'
Time Jump:
I sat outside the door, waiting for the door to open. Which didn't take long, before Ziva walked out. With a slight smirk, she gave me a 'Go on' head jerk. Trotting into the room, I sat between Gibbs and the girl.
"She's pretty."
"She's a good agent."
"You guys hiring?"
'No, the hell we are not.'
"I wouldn't mind hanging out." She twirled a strand of hair. "I feel safe here."
Gibbs glanced at her, then down at me. "I can assign an agent to you."
"You?"
'Bitch, you really need to back the hell up.' I growled.
Gibbs sighed, running a hand down my back. "No."
"I'll be fine I guess." She lowered her tone, trying to get a slight reaction out of him.
'He isn't going to fall for that honey.'
Gibbs pulled out his wallet, sliding his card to her. "You got a problem, give me a call. Only if you have a problem."
She pulled a slightly guilty look. "That obvious? And I was trying to hide it."
'Ptff a blind person would have been able to see it.'
"Take care of yourself, Rose."
Rose turned to him with a soft smile. "Working on it."
Gibbs kneeled in front of me, placing his hands on either side of my neck. "What's wrong with you today?" I whimpered, head-butting his chest. "You've been worse than usual."
'Yeah, well seeing others flirt with you isn't something I enjoy.'
"If only you could talk."
Time jump:
Tony and Ziva had gone off to speak with the producer of the band. Gibbs and Tony were currently working on the video and tracing it. I laid splayed in the middle of the bullpen, listening in on their conversations every so often.
'Alex?'
'Hey Nathan.'
'How are you feeling?'
'Fine, why?'
'You are carrying our pups love.'
'Right, sorry. We are still at the office dealing with the case. But I am feeling fine.'
'No wonder Eyal is still here.'
'What are you two doing?'
'That's why I am calling. Eyal will be gone for a few days. He left a letter for Ziva on her door. I will also be out for a few days. I have to handle some pack issues back home. Eyal and I will be leaving ty and others to look out for you two.'
'O-Okay. Do I have to worry?'
'No, Eyal's thing is work. And I just have to handle a few things. We shouldn't be gone more than a week.'
'Alright, be safe. Both of you.'
'Of course, love. See you soon.'
"Abs, you sure this is the killers?"
I perked up at the mention of the killer. 'What now?'
'Yeah. I was monitoring the killer's original CyberVid account and I caught this uploading.' Abs voice came from the speakerphone. 'Oh my god. That poster is right outside my lab. He was here.'
I jumped to my feet, staring up at the screen. 'He was here?!'
"Abby, this isn't a flash codec." Tim yelped. "It's H-dot-two-six-four."
"Hey, McGee?" Gibbs snapped.
"Boss, this isn't a video. It's streaming live. He's outside Abby's lab." Tim said.
"Luna!" Gibbs called.
I didn't need to be told twice, I bolted for the stairs. Using my paw, I pulled the handle down and pushing the door open. Rushing down the stairs, I came to a halt. The door to Abby's floor was a pull in. I couldn't open it. Luckily Gibbs and McGee came up behind me. The moment they opened it, I turned the corner and leaped for the person in front of me. Standing over the man, I held his arm in my mouth.
"Ah, hell, Harry." Gibbs groaned. "Luna release."
"I'm just here to mop up." Harry whimpered.
Gibbs patted me on the side. "Let him go, he one of the good guys."
'They all seem harmless until they aren't.' Letting go of Harry's arm, I trotted over to Abby's office. I could smell the glue spilled along the entrance of the door. 'I am not stepping in that.' Before I could stop him, Tim ran past me and fell face first. His shoes glues to the floor. 'That's got to hurt.'
Time jump:
I stood by the door watching the team examined the camera that was found in the janitor cart.
"Jani-cam." Tony sang. "That's a new one."
"Do you really believe Harry's involved?" Ziva asked.
'Nope, man almost fainted at seeing Gibbs and me.'
"Gibbs will know soon enough." Tony replied.
"I've never been so scared in my whole life." Abby muttered. "Except when my stalker-ex tried to kill me. And when my insane assistant, chip, had me at knifepoint. And when McGee's crazy fan Put a gun to my head..."
"We-we got it, Abs." Tim sighed.
'Damn and I thought I was a problem magnet.' Hearing heavy footsteps, Gibbs stepped into the lab. 'Well, hello and welcome to the shit show.'
"How's Harry?" Ziva asked.
"He's innocent." Gibbs replied. "He's got an alibi for both murders."
"Does he have any idea how the camera got in his lunch box?" Tim asked.
"He was moonlighting last month." Abby replied.
"The killer could have planted the camera while Harry was off base." Ziva added.
'For it being a government's base, they really needed to up security.'
"If he planted the camera a month ago, he couldn't have known Gibbs was assigned to the case." Tony said.
Leon stepped into the room. "He was targeting Gibbs from the beginning. You must have really pissed somebody off."
'When has he not.'
"It's not a shortlist." Tony's smile dropped at the look Gibbs tossed him. "Of people that-that you've angered just because you have rock-solid principles and so it's easy for people to misunderstand that, and misconstrue. You know, people..."
'Dude learn when to shut up.'
"Why don't you quit while you're behind Dinozzo." Leon snapped.
"I'm trying."
Time jump:
The team had been on high alert due to the latest video, showing Gibbs's face. I stuck to him every second of the day, never taking my eyes off him. At the moment we were on our way to Rose's residence. From the latest stream we got, she appeared to be holding drummer boy hostage with a shotgun in his face. But still, something didn't sit right.
We arrived at a studio-looking place. Gibbs walked behind me, ordering Tim and Ziva towards the front door. Tony and I followed Gibbs for the large sliding door. Standing beside Gibbs, Tony pulled the door open. Rose stood on one end of the room, with drummer boy strapped to a chair.
"NCIS!"
"Drop your weapon, Rose!"
"I wish I could." Rose gulp. "I'm sorry."
"We will shoot you." Tony warned.
"Shoot her! She's freaking crazy!" Drummer screamed.
My eyes were bouncing from one to the other. Rose reeked of fear. Drummer was pure adrenaline and...excitement? 'This isn't right.'
"Please just leave." Rose cried.
"Somebody shoot her! Please, I don't want to die!"
"You have three seconds, or we will shoot." Ziva called out.
'No, no. This is all wrong.' Trotting over to rose I stood in front of her, blocking my teams' clear line of shot. 'We can't shoot her.'
"Luna out of the way!" Tony yelled.
Ziva lowered her gun slightly. "What the hell are you doing?! Move!"
'No.' Crouching down, I snapped at the air.
"Get away." Rose whispered. "You are going to get hurt, please get away."
Suddenly Gibbs aimed his gun towards the drummer. I exhaled slightly. 'Thank you.'
"Uh, boss?"
"What the hell are you doing?!"
"Put the gun down, Rose." Gibbs ordered in the calmest of voice.
Rose shook her head. "He said he'd kill me."
"Are you crazy?!" Drummer was spazzing in his chair. "Shoot her. Come on!"
"Only one I'm gonna shoot is you." Gibbs said.
I growled at hearing him chuckle. 'Can I rip his throat out?' Stalking towards him, I stopped as he raised his hand with a detonator.
"Luna halt." Gibbs ordered.
'No duh.'
"It's dead man's switch." He snickered. "I've got her wired with C-4. So, you shoot me, and we all die." Gibbs stepped down, walking closer to him. "Ah-ah. Come on, Gibbs, do you really want to die?"
"Do you?" Gibbs retorted. "No, you want to be famous. You don't want to die."
I waited for him to make a move. Itching to tear my claws into him. Instead, he handed the switch over, just like that. 'There goes my fun.' With a huff, I stepped out of the way as they unstrapped the bomb from Rose.
"NCIS." Drummer laughed. "I knew I should have gone with the FBI. It's cliché, but look what you get for trying something different."
"Clear." Ziva said.
"He said if I didn't just stand there, he'd kill me." Rose rushed for him, being held back by tony. "You said we were shooting another music video! I hope you fry!"
"He set her up." Ziva said. "How did you know?" Gibbs gestured to me, then the camera. "The video camera? Yes, they had one of those at every crime scene."
"On the victim." Gibbs nodded. "I was the murder weapon."
"And Luna?"
"She just pointed me in the right direction." Gibbs said. "Must have felt something was off."
Ziva chuckled, stroking my head. "Sometimes she makes me wonder."
Time jump:
Ziva held the door open for me, as we walked into her apartment. A white envelope in her hand. Opening it up, she read through it, knitting her brows together. "Really Eyal? On the night we were going to tell the team." With an annoyed sigh, she sat on the couch. "Guess it will only be me breaking the news to them."
Placing a paw on her knee, I nudged her hand with my nose. 'I am here.'
"You really do make me wonder." She cupped my jaw, staring at my eyes. "Blink twice if you're a human."
'Then what?' I was so tempted in doing it, just to mess around.
"What am I saying." Running a hand down her face, she stood up. "Alright, time to get dinner ready before the others arrive. Behave yourself."
'I always do.'
By the time Ziva was busy changing, a knock on the door was heard. Gibbs and the others stepped in upon hearing Ziva yell a come in. I sat on the couch, accepting the affection I got as they walked in. Just as Gibbs stepped past me, I was hit by the foul scent. Turning towards the door, I growled at seeing Lisa walking in. Jumping off the couch, I avoided the woman from touching me.
'What the fuck is she doing here?!'
"Luna, enough." Gibbs ordered.
'She is in my turf!' I snapped.
"Luna!" Ziva called, having walked into the living room. "Please behave."
I huffed. 'Only because it's a special occasion.'
After dinner, Ziva gathered the team in the living room. "I asked you all here because I have news. I just found out and want you all to be the first to know."
"What is it?" Tony held some worry in his tone. "Are you okay?"
"I am fine." She smiled. "I had hoped Eyal would be here for this, but he was called into work."
Gibbs sat at the edge of his seat. "Ziva?"
"Right." Taking a deep breath, she placed her hand on her stomach. "I am pregnant."
There was complete silence throughout the entire team. All eyes were on her, but everyone's mouth was shut.
'Geez, at least a congrats.'
"Seriously?" Gibbs was the first to break the silence.
Ziva nodded, bursting into a laugh. "Yeah."
Gibbs pulled her into a hug. "That's wonderful Ziva."
The rest of the team followed. Tony was the hardest to watch. The man tried to play if off, but it was clear as day, how much it bothered him. The heart was both a blessing and a bitch when it came to love. I know, I have felt both.
"How far along are you?" Tim asked.
Ziva thought for a moment. "6 months."
"6?!" Both Tim and Abby yelled.
"Yeah, I know it came as a surprised to me too." Ziva replied. "Apparently I am one of those that don't show much."
"Do you know the sex?" Gibbs asked.
"No, just that there are two."
"Two?!" Tim and Abby yelled once more.
'I swear those two yell once more, I am stuffing their mouth with socks.'
'You are stuffing what with what?'
'Nathan?!'
'Who else you be talking with like this?'
'I am still getting used to it. Usually, they have to be in the same room.'
'Yeah, you home?'
'Yup. Ziva just dropped the baby bomb to the team.'
'Just that bomb?'
'Yeah, I don't think telling them the father of her children is a wolf, would be the best right now. Especially with him not being here.'
'I know, you should have seen Eyal. He tried to be there, but..'
'I know Nathan. Not throwing him any shade.'
'I will be longer than expected.'
'How long?'
'Give or take two weeks or less.'
I wasn't liking this. 'Everything okay?'
'Yeah, just pack issues.'
'Do I need to remind you that the pack issues are also mine.'
'No, you don't need to. I am just settling some old pacts with other alphas. Nothing big.'
Sensing Ziva's heartbeat rise, I looked up to see Lisa talking non-stop. she was sitting too close to Ziva for my comfort. 'I'll talk to you in a bit. Ziva needs me.'
'Alright. I love you.'
I faltered in my step. 'L-love you too.' Still wasn't used to hearing those words.
Ziva scooted over at spotting me approach her. Laying between the two women, I created a gap. Ziva's hand landed on my neck, causing my ear to lay against her belly. The heart beat rising wasn't hers, but the pups. Guess we have that in common. 'You don't like her either huh?'
"We need to get a baby shower together." Abby squealed. "I'll set one up for us girls. Tony, you can handle the men."
"We men don't do baby showers, Abby." Tony scoffed, but one look from Gibbs had him changing his mind. "But I am sure we will love to create one for Eyal."
"N-no, no, Abs. No baby showers." Ziva said.
Abby clearly wasn't going to take no for an answer. "We are so doing one. You are six months already, only 3 months to go. And I don't see anything for the babies."
"Eyal and I were going to do the shopping after telling you all." She replied. "But it will have to wait till he comes back."
"Where is he anyway?" Tony asked. "We never see him."
"Working." The tone of voice was a clear indication that was all she was going to say.
Tony clearly didn't catch onto it. "Yeah, but what does he d-"
"Tony." Gibbs cut him off. "That is none of our concern."
The rest of the night, they talked about the showers and what it would be like having the babies. I had fallen asleep to Abby talking about a dessert themes baby shower. Only waking up to the sound of the door clicking shut. Tilting my head up, I caught the tired look on her face.
"That went well." She chuckled. "Let's just hope it goes just a smooth when they find out everything."
Time jump: A week
In the last week, I hadn't heard from Nathan or Eyal. Ty, Doug, Liam, and Lake were the four wolves assigned to watch over us. The rest of the pack would rotate in patrolling the surrounding area. When asked they also haven't heard from them. Ty was worried as well. It wasn't like Nathan to stay out of contact for long. Every time I tried contacting him, I received no answer. I didn't like this one bit. I can feel Ziva getting worried as well. Liam told me Eyal like Nathan hadn't contacted them either. All I could hope for was for them to return safely and unharmed. They both had mates waiting for them,
Ziva walked behind me, as we circled the park for the second time. We were both so engrossed in our own worries, we hadn't noticed the dark van pulling up beside us. Out of the corner of my eyes, I spotted dark shadows aiming for us. In a flash of movement, I jumped around, intercepting one of the shadows. Not caring who or what it was, I aimed for the throat and bit down. Blood flooded into my mouth, sending my senses to overdrive. My priority was to ensure both Ziva and I got out of this. Seeing Ziva taking on two other men, I dropped the one in my mouth and tackled the tallest of the two. My claws dug into his back, tearing the clothes and skin apart. Blood splattered all over my paws and muzzle. Once I knew he wasn't getting up, I turned my attention to the last one. Ziva was handling him well, without my help. Glancing towards the van I narrowed my eyes at the two more jumping out. Who the hell were these idiots? And where the hell were the packs?! Crouching down, I prepared myself to take them on. Pushing myself off the ground with a loud growl, something suddenly slammed into my side. Tumbling onto the ground I yelped at the searing pain crawling up my side. Glancing down at my side I growled at the bullet hole. Still, I couldn't let them harm Ziva, they were not going to lay a hand on her. Pushing myself up off the ground, I pushed through the pain and stood in front of her.
"Luna leave." Ziva ordered.
'Like I am going to listen to that.' I growled.
"Leave!"
'Not happening.' Taking a step, I bit back the growl of pain. 'You fuckers messed with the wrong wolf.'
"Take the shot!"
I looked up to see one up on the van's roof with a sniper. 'Shit.' I was shot with a dart, knocking me on my ass. Hearing another thud, I knew Ziva was down as well. 'I failed, forgive me.'
"Grab her and throw her into the van." A male ordered. "Take the wolf as well."
"What for?" Another male asked. "It's been shot. It will die."
"Shut up and just fucken do it!"
I wanted to fight as they picked me up. But my body was out for the count. I had lost too much blood and with the sliver in my blood, the wound was going to take hours to heal. Yelping at being thrown into the van, I watched everything go dark the moment the door was slammed shut.
'Nathan, pleaserespond.'
