Time jump:
It was a weekend and the team was off. Which meant I had all day to enjoy it being just me. Still, I did miss the team and I wanted to see Ziva. Make sure she and her children were truly fine.
"So, still haven't picked out a mate?" Eyal asked Charlie.
At the moment Nathan and Eyal were interrogating Charlie and his love life. From what Nathan has told me, Charlie has never been seen with a female. No pups of his own either. The man has led his pack ever since he was 15. Took over this land at only 18 years old. Beaten anyone or anything that has attempted to take it from him.
Charlie shook his head. "No."
"Any particular reason?" Nathan asked.
The wolf suddenly had a painful look. His eyes becoming vacant. "The one female I was to mate was killed. Her family had an agreement with my pack in uniting the pack. A few days before the ceremony, I needed to handle some out-of-town business." He was no longer in the room with them. His mind wandering to that day. "Came back to find out her pack had been massacred. She and her family along with it. My pack had tried to save her, but by the time they had gotten there, she was dead. We noticed a few other pack mates had disappeared, but we never found who did it."
Okay, this was getting too depressing. "Nathan, I am going out for a while."
"Where too?"
Grabbing my coat, I pulled him in for a quick kiss. "I want to stop by with the team."
"Alex, you are not shifted." Nathan stated. "What excuse are you going to use?"
I had completely forgotten about that. "Eyal?"
"Yeah?"
"You have lunch plans with Ziva?"
Eyal frowned, giving me a slight nod. "Yes, I have to pick her..." He glanced at his watch. "Right now. Shit."
"Mind if I tag along?" I asked.
He shared a look with Nathan, getting a shrug. "Don't look at me man. I have no say over her doings."
I quirked a brow. "Were you asking him for permission?"
"No! Of course not." Eyal yelped. "Yeah, you can come along."
"Not that I required your approval anyways." Giving Nathan another quick kiss, I snatched his keys and walked out.
Eyal huffed. "Of all the females in the world, you had to pick the most sarcastic one."
"I like a bit of spice in my mate." Nathan laughed. "Besides, she's just as bad as Ziva."
"Well yes, but z-"
I jogged back into the cabin to find them all staring at me. "Can you two compare Ziva and I on your own time? Eyal, let go!"
Nathan's laugh was heard as we walked back out. "Should have said no!"
Nathan:
"Can I ask you something?" Charlie asked.
Nathan nodded. "Sure, what is it?"
"What the deal with the Agent and your mate?" Charlie asked. "When I first met them, she made it clear he was to not be touched. I know she's his mate, but is she not mates to you?"
Nathan took in a deep breath. "You noticed that." Pushing himself off the couch, Nathan walked over to the bar cart. "Alex had a rather unique way of meeting Gibbs. Which you pretty much know. Well, the cliff notes that is." He handed the alpha a glass of whiskey.
"Yeah, alpha silvered her up. She escaped the rival pack. The team picked her up in the pound."
Serving his own glass, he stood by the fireplace. "Yeah, well she met Gibbs before me. She is his mate, that part is correct. But not being able to shift back into her body, there was no way of telling him. I met her a few days later. We mated and now she is carrying our pups." Taking a swing of his drink, he tossed the rest into the raging fire. "I know what he means to her. Because she means the exact same thing to me."
"Do you plan on taking her from here?" Charlie asked. "Away from him?"
Nathan laughed. "She would never allow it."
"But she's your mate."
"Yes, and his as well. Regardless of being mates or not." Nathan explained. "He will always be around. And although he is human, already feels something towards her. Taking her away will cause her nothing but pain."
"So what do you plan on doing?"
"Nothing." He sighed, taking a seat once more. "It will bother me sometimes. The idea of another man touching her, but there is nothing I can do. It's just our nature. Should Gibbs ever become her mate in the full meaning of the word, he and I will have only one thing in mind. Protect and love her."
"And should she decided only for him?" Charlie whispered.
"Then at least I know she will be happy and loved." He replied. "With the packs and I always looking out for her. But should she want the both of us or just me, then I will do everything in my power to make her life as wonderful as we can."
Alex:
It felt weird stepping into the elevator as me. The box felt smaller than usual. Hearing the slight beep announcing our arrival, I slowly stepped out.
"Why are we even here?" I mumbled. "The team is off."
"Ziva said they were finishing up the reports." Eyal rolled his eyes at my hesitant steps. Grabbing my arm he hurried me up.
"Paws off mutt." I sassed.
Eyal scoffed, draping his arm around my shoulder. "You know damn well you love having me close." Leaning in closer, his breath tickling the side of my neck. "Sadly this is as much as you get."
Knowing damn well what he was doing, I raised my hand to face. Using my pointing finger, I ghostly passed it across his jaw. Using it to lift his head slightly by his chin. Leaning in closer, I was inches from his mouth. "Only in your most perverted dreams." Elbowing him in the stomach, I grinned at seeing him bend over. "Only two men I love having near me. You aren't either of them."
"Damn Alex, that hurt." Eyal wheezed.
"Eyal?" Ziva popped her head over the bullpen wall. Her eyes jumping from her mate to me, before narrowing them at me.
"Shit," I grumbled. "Hey, Ziva." The only woman besides my mother who had the ability to frighten me with one look.
Walking over to us, she eyed us for a bit more. "Do I even want to know?"
"No." Eyal took in a deep breath, making somewhat of squeaky noise. "Sorry, I'm late."
"Don't be, we were just about to call it lunch." She said.
Eyal nodded, leaning in for a kiss. "What are you in the mood for?"
Noticing Tim struggling with something, I walked over to him. "Need help?" Anything to get away from those two exchanging saliva.
Tim glanced up at me with a clear look of annoyance, ready to tell me to fuck off. "H-hey!" Jumping from his seat, he pulled me into a hug. "How you been?"
"Good, good. You guys?"
"Pretty good." He grinned. "The occasion bad days, but mostly good."
I nodded. "Yeah, I heard how shitty this week has been. Glad Ziva is back." I suddenly caught a whiff of nervousness coming from him. Seeing his eyes go wide for a moment, I frowned. "You okay?"
"Y-yeah." Tim leaned forward, clearly not wanting the next words to be heard apart from us. "Did he tell you everything that happened?"
"Everything?" What was he going on about? Did I miss something? What else hap-ohh. The whole Eyal is a wolf thing. "Eyal to-"
"Are those reports done ye-" Gibbs slowed his steps at spotting me. His crystal blue eyes locking with mine.
"Agent Gibbs." I turned towards him, holding my hand out. "Nice seeing you again."
Gibbs tilted his head just a tad bit to the side. "Likewise." His larger hand took mine in a warm gentle grip. "Something I can do for you?"
I grinned. "Depends."
It took him a few seconds to take the bait. "On what?"
"Is there a limit to that question?" I bit my lower lip, trying so hard not to give into my smile. Inhaling I caught a whiff of his cologne and wood. 'Damn he smells amazing.'
'Didn't need that information.' Eyal's voice popped into my head, bringing me back to reality.
'Way to ruin the mood asshat.'
"Gibbs, I am heading out. My report is done and on your desk." Ziva called out. "See you Monday."
I turned to leave, only to turn back around. "Agent Gibbs, have you eaten today?"
That caught the man by surprise. "No."
"Would you like to join us?"
"No."
I rolled my jaw, remembering just how stubborn he can be. "Would you like to join me?"
"I'm not hungry." He mumbled. "But thank you."
If he believed I was just going to give in so easily, he had another thing coming. "Tim, have you had lunch yet?" He shook his head. "Would you like to eat with me?"
"Of course." He grinned.
"So I take it you are staying?" Eyal was already making his way to the elevator.
"Yeah."
"Alright, I'll pick you up in a bit."
Time jump:
Tim and I had ordered a plate of Chinese each. Gibbs had gone up to the directors' office before the food had arrived. I placed his plate on his desk, with the drink. Tim And I spoke about nothing in general. He told me a bit about his time before joining the team. About Kate and director Shepherd and pretty much every disaster before me. This team has been through hell and back. Tim also let it spilled the few things he knew about Gibbs's ex-wives. No wonder he's iffy on women.
"I will be right back." Tim gathered a few papers, shoving them into a folder. "I have to give these files to Abby."
"No hurry, take your time." Leaning back into my chair I closed my eyes for a moment.
I knew the second he stepped back into the bullpen. His scent hit me like a punch to the gut. It was both intoxicating and arousing. I listened to him paused for a moment, then walk to his desk. The shuffling of the take-out plate and a low chuckle. His scent got closer to me until I knew he was just behind me. I didn't know whether to open my eyes or simply stay still. Going with my first choice, I open my eyes slowly. Gibbs stood behind my chair, his abdomen brushing just barely with my head. His eyes locked onto mine, yet they were still guarded. His look still sending chills down my back.
"Thank you." His voice was gruff. "For the food."
"I mean it wouldn't be much of a lunch if you didn't eat." I replied. We had yet to move from the position we were in. I knew what he was doing. But two can play at that game. "I didn't know what you liked, so I picked what I got." Lie. I knew exactly what he liked.
"Actually, you got exactly what I like." He finally broke, taking a seat at his desk.
'Thank god, my neck was bugging.' Rolling my chair over to him, I reached over for a picture on the desk. It was actually one of us. Well one of him and Luna. "When was this taken?" I hadn't meant to say that out loud, but I don't remember someone snapping the picture. It was the last gathering with the team. Gibbs was sitting on the couch, with me laying across the couch. My head laying on his lap. "You guys never answered me, is she yours or the teams?"
Gibbs shook his head, taking a bite of his food. "Luna belongs to no one. I look at it as if she had picked us."
In a way I did. They were a part of me. "That might be true. Wolves have a way of knowing who they can trust."
Grabbing his keys, he gathered his files and coat. "It's was nice seeing you again."
"Leaving already?" I huffed.
Gibbs stopped, giving me a 'seriously' sort of look. "I was." Walking back to his desk, he dropped his stuff and took a seat once more. "But it appears a change of plans."
Suddenly I realize just how weird all of this was. "I am sorry Agent Gibbs. We don't know each other that well, and here I am speaking to you like old college friends."
"I didn't go to college." Gibbs replied.
I raised a brow at the small smirk on his lips. "Marine buddies."
"In that case call me Gibbs. Or Jethro." He smiled.
'Holy shit that smiles.'
POV: 3rd person
Gibbs and Alex struck up a conversation about pretty much anything that came up. They would jump from subject to subject, neither looking to end it anytime soon. Gibbs had even gone as far as to mention the boat in his basement. They were both so engrossed in the conversation, neither noticed Tim enter the bullpen and slowly walked back out.
Tim hadn't seen his boss so calm when talking to someone. Let alone a woman. He was always tense and on guard. Yet here he was laughing with no holdbacks. Making sure they didn't see him, he slipped his report onto his desk and scurried away.
Alex sensed Tim walk into the bullpen, but decided not to acknowledge him. Gibbs was in the middle of a rather interesting story from his childhood. She enjoyed seeing him like this. No worries at the moment. No case. No murder or blood. Just him.
After seeing the time, he told her it was time to head out. They had spent the past three hours talking. Alex not wanting to part from him just yet, had subtly asked to see the boat.
"You want to see an unfinished boat?" Gibbs grabbed his coat, giving her a confused look.
Alex chuckled. "My father used to build cars from scratch. I always enjoyed seeing the process of something being build from scratch." It wasn't a lie. Her father would spend hours at a time working on old cars.
Gibbs thought about it for a moment, giving in a few seconds later. "Alright."
Arriving at what was once her home, she couldn't help but feel strange. She had lived, eaten, and slept In this house. Yet to Gibbs' knowledge she was never here. Waiting for him to guide her into the house, Alex placed her jacket on the coat hanger. Gibbs placed his hand on the small of her back, pointing towards the Kitchen. To her surprise nor Lisa or the dog were in the house.
'Thank god for small miracles.' Following him into the kitchen, he offered her something to drink. "Have any beer?" With a nod, he opened the fridge, pulled out two bottles, and handed her one. "So what's for dinner?"
"Didn't you just eat lunch?" Gibbs scoffed/laughed, taking a swing of his beer.
"I am a grown woman." Alex mumbled. "I need my food, besides that was hours ago."
"Steaks."
"My favorite." Leaning against his dining table, she braced her hands on the table, gripping the edges. Gibbs leaned against the counter, arms crossed. His eyes were running up and down her body, in a solo dance. Alex didn't dare move. Afraid to break such dance. "So, where is this boat of yours?"
Gibbs snapped out of whatever daze he was in. "Follow me." Grabbing his beer, he took her down to the basement.
Alex had this place completely memorized by now. As she walked through the hallways, Alex allowed her finger to run along the wall. She felt every little detail on the walls, memorizing them as if she would never feel them again.
Gibbs held the door open for her, gesturing to walk on down. "Watch your step."
"Wow." Last time she saw this thing he just had the first outline of the boat. This was about halfway done. Walking around the table, Alex gently placed her hand on one of the bars. "Is there a reason behind this?"
Gibbs frowned. "Meaning?"
"Do you just like to build them or are they meant to mean something else?" Running a finger down the seam, she stopped to look up at him.
Gibbs thought about it for a moment, yet his eyes never leaving her. "A bit of both."
"Understood." Continuing her admiration for the boat, Alex suddenly got a flashback to her childhood. A small smile appearing on her lips.
Gibbs stepped off the stairs, moving to stand beside her. "What is it?"
"Memories." She replied. "Every Friday dad would pick me up from school in his Harley. Pick up some junk food and head home. We spend the entire day and weekend working on his cars in the garage." Turning to gaze at him, she held her hand out for him. Gibbs placed his hand in hers, confusion written in his brows. Grabbing his hand she flipped it over, her fingers running along his palm. "Your hands are a lot like his. Rough from the constant work."
"Where is your dad now?" Gibbs asked, pulling his hand slowly away from her. He had felt a jolt the second she touched him. Any more and he would snap.
Alex crossed her arms, turning to face the boat once more. "He died a few months ago."
Gibbs clenched his jaw. He wasn't sure as to why this bothered him so much. But it caused something to stir inside him. A sense of protection towards her. "I am sorry."
"It's fine." Reaching out to the seam of the boat, she ran her finger across it once more. "I have come to accept it. I still have my b-shit!" Pulling her finger off the seam, she huffed at the blood. "Great."
Gibbs quickly placed his beer down on the table. "Let me see."
"Agent Gibbs it's nothing." Alex licked the blood off, not wanting any of it to stain his boat or floor. Not that it was bleeding much.
"Let me see it." His tone left no room for argument. Taking my hand in his, he 'tsk' at seeing the large splinter. "Splinter cut you open." Grabbing a first aid kit from the side, he pulled out a few things. "Got to pull the splinter out before cleaning the cut." He was so entertained by what he was doing, he hadn't realized just how close he was standing to her. "This is going to sting."
Biting her lower lip she stopped the growl from slipping out, as he damped the alcohol onto the cut. "Just my luck. Getting a bloody splinter."
Gibbs chuckled, glancing towards the boat. "Going to have to sand that down some more."
Alex scoffed. "You think."
Wrapping a band-aid around the finger, he examined his work. "That should do it."
"Thank you." Looking up at him she froze in place. She hadn't realized just how much taller he was from her. Alex reached no higher than his shoulders. Gibbs was standing inches from her, trapping the wolf between the boat and himself. His scent trapping encasing her in a heavenly bubble. Looking up into his eyes, she nearly choked at the lust swimming in his ocean blue eyes. 'Get a hold of yourself, Alex.'
Gibbs felt as if he was being controlled by a force unknown. Any attempt to step away was met with no response. Instead, he was forced closer to the woman. Raising his hands, he placed his palms flat against the boat. Alex was trapped between his arms, the boat, and himself. Leaned in closer, his eyes fell from hers to her mouth and back. He knew he shouldn't. He knew he couldn't, but fuck did he want it. Just as he was about to pull away, she did the mistake of biting her lips. Whatever little restraint was holding the agent back snapped that second.
Gibbs reached out and casually tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear, and without meaning to, she sucked in a breath and leaned into his touch.
His brow cleared, and his eyes turned to a raging sea as they drifted down to her lips, which, she noted, were now parted. It was like her body was this traitor, acting without her brain's permission. Especially considering what you were thinking earlier, that annoying voice tried to interject. Are you seriously going to let hormones get the best of you when there are important things to consider?
But when Gibbs dipped his head down and pressed his mouth to hers, his rough stubble scratching against her chin most deliciously, her brain shut up entirely. His arms wrapped around her waist, cinching her to him, and she put her hands in his hair, feeling the silken strands between her fingers.
"If you want me to stop, tell me now." He whispered. When she still said nothing, he brushed his mouth against the hollow of her temple. "Or now." He traced the line of her cheekbone. "Or now." His lips were against hers once more. He groaned softly, low in his throat, and then his arms circled her, gathering her against his chest.
Alex squealed as he picked her up and sat her on the edge of that desk. Her back pressing up against the boat. Without breaking the kiss, she pulled him in wrapping her legs around his waist. A fire in her began to rise, starting from the pit of her stomach to the top of her chest. It was an intensity she hadn't felt before. As the need for air became urgent, she pulled away from him, gasping for air.
Gibbs refused to stop. Her scent was intoxicating to him. Her taste was becoming life support he refused to let go. Moving from her mouth to her neck, he pulled her even closer to his body. He needed to stop. He knew he needed to stop. But he couldn't. He didn't want to. Her soft moans fueling him to keep going. Her hands buried in his hair, tugging at him, had him biting down.
Alex groaned at feeling him bite down. That heat in the pit of her stomach turned into a raging fire. It felt as if her heat had come back. Running her hand down his back, she felt the strain on his shoulder blades. He was holding back. The moment he moved back to claiming her mouth with his, she dug her nails into his back. Controlling herself just enough to gather some of her thoughts through the fog, Alex moved her hands towards the front, tucking them inside his coat.
"Agent gi-" She needed to stop. As much as she wanted this, it couldn't happen. Not now. "Jethro."
"Jethro?"
They both froze, glancing towards the stairs.
"Who's that?" Alex knew very well who that scent belonged to.
Gibbs swallowed the lump in his throat, just now realizing what he was doing. Stepping away from her, he ran a hand through his hair. "That's Lisa." Alex held back a growl threatening to spill. "This shouldn't have hap-"
"Gibbs?" Lisa appeared at the top stairs, her eyes immediately falling on the woman sitting on the table. "Hello."
Alex jumped off the table, stepping away from Gibbs. "Hi."
"Am I interrupting?" Her eyes falling on Gibbs in an accusing manner. "I can come back later."
Gibbs did a half-eye rolls. "No, Lisa. Alex was-"
"Here to pick up a few things." Alex jumped in, grabbing the toolbox on the floor. "My brother and I are working on rebuilding the porch and needed another set of tools."
"You couldn't just buy one?" She walked down towards Gibbs, latching her arm in his. "I mean saved you the trouble of picking up and dropping it."
The she-wolf gave a slight smirk, her eyes falling on Gibbs. "I see no trouble, just pleasure." She left without waiting for Lisa's reply. She really should have kept her mouth close, but something about that woman set her off. Stepping out of the house, she aimlessly walked two blocks. "Where the hell am I going?" Taking a turn towards the woods, she hid the toolbox behind some bushes and shifted. 'Not good if I end up losing the damn tools.'
'What tools?' Nathan asked.
Alex smiled at hearing his gentle/gruff voice. 'I will explain in a bit. For now, can you leave the door open for me please?'
'Of course, but I won't be home when you get here love.'
'What? Why?'
'I have to go back home. The pack is having issues with another pack. Seems they think it's okay to try and invade my land why I am away.'
'I'll go with you.'
'No, you will not. I will handle this, you stay here and care for your team.' There was a pause. 'Besides it appears things have gotten somewhat complicated with Agent Gibbs.'
"Shit!" Alex dropped her head, clearly having forgotten the chances of her mate knowing. The spur of the moment had caused her to forget everything at that moment. 'Nathan please let me explain, it's not-'
'We will talk about it when I get back. My pack needs me right now. I will be leaving some behind. In any case, Charlie and Eyal have offered their protection. You will be watched over.'
'Nathan wait until I get there. Don't leave before talking with me.'
'I rather not, I don't think it will do any good at the moment. We will talk when I get back.'
Alex growled lowly, picking up her pace as she hurried through the woods. Leaping over a fallen log, she splashed into a muddy puddle. Her white paws no longer the color of snow. She wanted to get there before he left. She didn't want him leaving like this.
Angry.
An angry wolf was a bad thing as it is. But an alpha on its way to stop a war angry was surly to start one.
Breaking past the trees and into the front of the house, she stopped. His scent was still lingering, but he was long gone. He'd been gone. Lowering her head, she took in short heavy breaths. Her legs shook as they gripped the dirt. She had run past her limit, putting a strain on her body. Her shoulder blades aching at the attempt of any more movement. All she wanted was to close her eyes and sleep. 'This isn't normal.'
"Alex?" Matt appeared on top of the balcony. "Alex, what's wrong?" Seeing his sister give a shake of the head, he panicked. Jumping over the railing, he rushed towards her, coming to a sliding stop. "Hey, hey, what's wrong?"
'I don't know!' Alex growled. 'Some-something is wrong.'
"What do you feel?" Matt placed a hand on her back, trying to sense anything. "I don't feel anything."
'My body is numb. It wants to shut down.' The tension was quickly turning into pain. Her legs buckled underneath her, sending her down to the ground. The she-wolf released a loud roar.
"It's the mating line." Charlie appeared out of nowhere. "I am guessing something happened between you and Nathan?"
Alex nodded with a low growl. The female's growl of pains was causing panic within the pack. The wolves were pacing around them. Some trying to sneak their way closer, anything to see what was wrong with her.
"What happened?" Matt asked.
'I kissed Gibbs.' Alex snapped.
Charlie nodded his head slowly. "Nathan is hurt. It's putting a strain on the bond."
Matt jumped to her side, picking her up. "Well, he better stops his sulking. He's going to end up killing her!" Carrying her back inside the house, he lauded her gently on the bed. He noticed her body had relaxed some. Letting her rest, he walked out of the room, only to bump into the alphas.
"How is she?" Eyal asked.
Matt shrugged taking a seat on the couch. "She's asleep. Eyal, what the hell was that?"
"I don't know."
"They have gotten into arguments before." Matt continued. "This one was different."
Charlie took in a deep breath, nearly choking. "What is that?" Sniffing the air around them, he followed the intoxicating sweet scent to Alex's door. "She's in heat."
Matt jumped to his feet. "What?!"
"That impossible." Eyal scoffed. "She's mated to Nathan. She's pregnant."
"That is true, but is Gibbs not her mate as well?" Charlie asked. "Is he not the first mate she saw?"
"Yes."
"She placed a pause on her desire for the human when she mated Nathan." Charlie continued. "Now that Alex has kissed him, she has reignited that feeling. The only way her heat will go away is if she mates with the human."
"And if I don't?" Alex had heard his words. She had a feeling that was what she had felt. "What will happen if I don't mate with Gibbs?"
"Someone else will claim you," Charlie replied.
"And we all know who that will be." Eyal added. "One that's been itching to get his little d-"
Alex growled. "Don't say it."
" I was going to say Teeth." A sly smirk appeared on his lips. "What were you thinking?"
"Zip it."
Matt jumped in front of his sister, aiming a pale finger at the alpha. "She is already mated! Even if she sleeps with the human it means nothing."
"It means she has two mates." Eyal said. "It has never been heard of two mates at a time. Much less the possibility of being mates to both. But it will simply state she has two mates."
"What good will that bring?" Matt scoffed. "Having them constantly fighting for her? Alphas do not share, much less to a human."
"She can just try mating with Nathan again." Charlie suggested. "Satisfy the need."
"Or just let her breed with the human." Eyal growled. "They were meant for each other anyhow. What's the worse that can happen. A half-breed?"
"We are not going to serve my sister up like some wh-"
"Enough!" Alex growled, pushing her brother away. "Do not speak of me as if I had no choice in the matter. I will speak with Nathan. And only him."
"Ale-"
"Enough Matt." Alex sighed. She understood her brother was only looking out for her, but this was getting to be too overbearing. "Like you three said. Nathan is my mate. Therefore it is he who I need to be discussing this with. The three of you drop it."
Eyal mumbled something under his breath, getting an elbow jab to the side. "Ow, jackass!"
Alex rolled her eyes. "Who would have thought these two are just a pair of man-children."
"It's all Charlie!" Eyal yelled after her retreating form.
"Do you want to get slapped?" Charlie snapped. "Because that is how one gets slapped."
