Soon enough the other dragon riders were in the air, alongside them were Eret, Valka and Gobber on their own dragons.
"What's the plan, Hiccup" Eret asked him.
"OK, Gobber! You stay here and watch the village! Make sure that everyone is safe" he replied.
"You got it" said Gobber.
"Eret! You Fishlegs and the twins will be in the back and keep watch if the armada get past us" said Hiccup.
"Right" said Eret.
"You got it chief" said Tuffnut.
"Astrid, Mom, Snotlout, Magmar! You're all with me. We're gonna stop Maeve and her armada. Then we free those mind-controlled dragons" said Hiccup.
Everyone silently nodded and took off on their dragons.
Maeve and her generals smiled as they reached Berk.
"There it is" she said.
"This is going to be quite the haul" said Askari.
"I'll say" said Bjorke.
"Matron Maeve, look" said Fuld.
She soon spotted five dragons in the distance, flying towards them. She squinted her eyes and saw that one of those dragons was a Night Fury.
"It's them" said Maeve.
"Snotlout, Mom! You both focus on the other ships! Astrid, Magmar! We go for the main ship" said Hiccup.
"You got it" said Snotlout.
Lightning began to charge up to fire.
"MUTANTLATOR! Get down" a dragon hunter shouted.
Lightning and Toothless both fired and destroyed one of the ships.
"There they are" Askari shouted.
"Leave those two to me" said Maeve.
Snotlout and Hookfang set the whole deck of a ship on fire, causing all the dragon hunters on board to jump into the water. A few dragon hunters pulled out their crossbows and aimed for them, but Valka and Astrid showed up behind them on their dragons and caught them off guard. Cloudjumper and Stormfly fired and set the entire ship ablaze, leaving the dragon hunters on board no choice but to abandon ship.
"We're doing it" said Magmar.
"Yeah, but let's not speak too soon just yet" said Hiccup.
Suddenly a big fireball flew above and past them, catching them by surprise. They looked and there was Matron Maeve on her Buffalord, accompanied by a few more dragons.
"I have just about had enough of you two" she said.
"I take it you're Maeve" said Hiccup.
"That's Matron Maeve to you" said Maeve.
"It's over, Maeve. You're dragon hunting business stops today" said Magmar.
"That's what you think! Fire" she ordered.
Her Buffalord and the other dragons fired at them, but they dodged the blasts.
"Hiccup! Cover Toothless' ears! Trust me" said Magmar.
Hiccup quickly covered Toothless' ears and Magmar looked at his dragon.
"Hit it pal" he said.
Lightning quickly leaned back and let out a Screaming Death scream, disorienting Maeve's Buffalord and the other mind-controlled dragons. Toothless quickly blasted them all, until it was just Maeve and her Buffalord.
"You two think you're so clever! Fire" she ordered.
Her Buffalord fired at them again, but they dodged it. Hiccup and Magmar glanced at each other and nodded before they took off in different directions.
"After them" Maeve ordered.
Her Buffalord quickly went after Magmar and Lightning. He turned around spotted both of them.
"Here they come! Smothering Smokebreath smoke, now" he said.
Lightning raised his two upper wings and released a large cloud of Smothering Smokebreath smoke right behind them.
"Ugh! Smoke" said Maeve.
She and her Buffalord flew through the smoke after them, but soon lost sight of them.
"Damn" she muttered under her breath.
Suddenly, Magmar and Lightning reappeared and rammed into the side of the Buffalord. That knocked Maeve off of her dragon and into the water. Magmar reached over and quickly removed the harness that was on the Buffalord's head, setting it free. It smiled at them before it flew away.
Meanwhile…
Hiccup and Astrid set the other mind-controlled dragons free, while their dragons covered them.
"Well, this day has certainly been eventful" said Hiccup.
"I'll say" said Astrid.
Maeve's generals we're panicking as their armada was slowly being destroyed and Maeve was nowhere to be seen.
"We have to retreat" said Askari.
"What?! And leave Matron Maeve behind? What you are suggesting now is treason" Fuld shouted.
"Think about it, you fool! If we don't retreat now, we'll lose the entire armada and our empire will be in shambles" said Bjorke.
"You deserters" Fuld muttered under his breath.
Suddenly, a barrel exploded right behind them. The three generals looked up and saw Snotlout and Hookfang. They got out their weapons are were about to fire when an explosion went off behind them, knocking them to the ground and causing them to drop their weapons. They quickly got up and looked behind them, only to see Lightning growling at them, bearing his teeth and on fire like a Monstrous Nightmare. The terrified generals quickly abandoned ship as Lightning set the ship on fire and got out of there.
"Nice work pal" said Magmar.
Lightning smiled and nodded as they, along with the others, got up high and in front of the main ship. Toothless and Lightning both roared at the armada before they began to charge up their plasma blasts. They fired at the main ship, causing it to explode and be engulfed in flames. They all cheered as whatever was left of the armada retreated.
"We did it" said Astrid.
"Yeah, that's showing them" said Snotlout.
"I think this will be the last we'll see of Matron Maeve and her army" said Hiccup.
"You can say that again, Hiccup" said Magmar.
Everyone turned around and headed back to the village, victorious.
"Did we do it" Fishlegs asked them.
"Yeah, we did it" Hiccup replied.
"We won" said Magmar.
Everyone started cheered and celebrating the victory they had.
The next day, all the dragon riders were flying around Berk and enjoying themselves.
"This is Berk. It snows nine months of the year and hails the other three. We've been through everything you could think of. Wars, battles and more battles. But we have something that not many people have. Oh sure, they have armies and they have armadas. But we…we have OUR DRAGONS" Magmar narrated.
