Chapter 2 LAW: Soul of the Duelist
Flynn felt himself running forward without thinking and the others followed him. He looked around desperately hoping that anyone was still here. When they went outside they saw the streets were ablaze with people and spirits running around. His attention was drawn by the roar of the Crimson Dragon. While he was wary it seemed to lead him somewhere.
"Are you leading me to Isabeau?", Flynn questioned and he got a roar in response.
"I think that's a yes.", Burroughs replied.
The Samurai materialized their duel runners.
"Miss Zelenin, do you need a ride?", Jonathan asked.
"I'm fine.", Zelenin replied, before she sprouted angel wings.
The two looked wide eyed though they suppose they should have expected that. They started heading towards where the dragon led them. They ended up in the Kinschio area, surprising them. All around various spirits laid defeated. Standing in front of Asahi was Isabeau who had raised her gauntlet.
She was faced by a corrupted Pegasus spirit. The others turned their attention to the Samurai as they arrived.
"I-Isn't that Flynn?!", spirit 1 questioned as he stepped back.
"The Champion of Tokyo?!", spirit 2 said, fearfully.
Isabeau's eyes brightened when she saw Flynn and Asahi gasped.
"Hoy.", Flynn said in a menacing tone as he glared at the spirits.
"Flynn!", Isabeau said, sounding happier than she's ever been in her life.
"Scanning…Flynn Alexander-Mallory, human, and a twelve star level threat.", Burroughs said as Jonathan chuckled and the spirits flinched.
"H-he's twelve star! We can't beat that!", spirit 3 said.
"We've got to get out of here! That guy beat Diabolos!", spirit 4 said, before she ran.
Most of the spirits ran away from the sight of Flynn and the pegasus spirit growled.
"You pathetic cowards! Come back here!", the pegasus spirit yelled.
He looked wary when Flynn approached. Zelenin was impressed by the sheer fear Flynn's presence inspired in the spirits of Tokyo. The pegasus spirit looked wary as he approached shaking.
"Looks like Isabeau has done a number on your forces already. Do you want to test your luck against me?", Flynn questioned as the pegasus spirit backed away.
Despite how tough the spirit tried to act it was shaking in fear.
"D-Damn…retreat!!!", the pegasus spirit yelled, before running away and Asahi laughed.
"Wow, Flynn you scared them just by looking at them.", Asahi said.
"Well…he's garnered quite the reputation.", Jonathan chuckled.
Isabeau ran up to Flynn whose eyes brightened.
"I'm so glad you're okay! I thought you were dead!", Isabeau said as she was in tears.
"I'm fine, Isabeau. I'm sorry I was gone. We're about to fix everything.", Flynn said, with a bright smile.
"What happened to Nikkari and Manabu?", Jonathan asked and Asahi looked down.
"They didn't make it. They lost their souls while they were trying to protect me. I thought I was a goner until Miss Isabeau showed up.", Asahi explained, sadly.
"Let's get you home.", Flynn said and she nodded.
They entered the Kinischo underground district for the first time. The guard outside let them through without question when he saw the Samurai.
"Dad!", Asahi said as she ran up to him.
"Asahi, what's wrong?! Why are the Samurai here?!", Boss questioned.
"The spirits are Nikkari and Manabu. I only survived because Miss Isabeau showed up. She beat a bunch of them all by herself! Then the rest ran when they saw Flynn.", Asahi explained.
Boss looked up at the Samurai wearily before relenting.
"Thank you…Where have you been anyway?", Boss replied.
"We were sent to another world by Lucifer. We just came back.", Flynn explained.
"So that spirit sent you away…Who's the chick?", Boss questioned.
"I am Zelenin. I'm here to aid the Samurai.", Zelenin replied.
The two explained everything that happened in the alternate Tokyos and when they returned to Mikado.
"You really trust the angels?", Boss questioned.
"Michael and Zelenin both don't desire Tokyo's annihilation. We've even convinced the other angels against it. We want to make Tokyo peaceful just like Mikado.", Jonathan replied.
"That seems much more preferable to its annihilation though some might worry about their freedom.", Isabeau replied.
"Anyone who submits to any kind of government submits their freedom on some level. You are not being asked to give up your individuality we only ask that people shall not harm their neighbors.", Zelenin replied.
"That doesn't sound too bad. Making things like Mikado would make Tokyo a lot safer.", Isabeau replied as she considered it.
"Isabeau, please believe me when I say that I intend to protect this world. I want to make a safe world for us to have a family in.", Flynn said as he held her hands and his cheeks flushed.
Asahi oohed and Isabeau's cheeks flushed.
"I believe in you, Flynn. I know you wouldn't do anything to try and harm everyone. Let's save Tokyo.", Isabeau replied with a bright smile.
"Is Mikado really that great?", Boss questioned as he rubbed his head.
"It had no conflict for over 1000 years until Lilith showed up.", Jonathan replied and Boss looked stunned.
"I suppose that wouldn't be too bad…", Boss replied.
"Lucifer has made his base at Camp Ichigaya. That's where we must strike.", Zelenin informed and the Samurai nodded.
The Tokyo residents looked on as the Samurai dramatically left. On their way to Camp Ichigaya they were suddenly stopped by a group of Hunters including Fujiwara and Skins.
"We've heard you guys have come around to working with the angels. Is that true?", Fuijwara asked.
"It's not what you think. We've convinced the angels to save Tokyo rather than destroy it.", Jonathan replied.
"Do you really expect any of us to trust the angels after what they did?", Skins questioned as he narrowed his eyes.
"We trusted you and you turned back to the angels!", Hunter 1 said.
"Damn traitor!", Hunter 2 cursed.
"Do you guys really think we'd agree to destroy Tokyo after everything we've done to defend it?", Flynn questioned.
"That's just it, we don't know. For all we know you're going to set off the reactor and kill us all.", Skins replied.
Flynn felt taken aback by the Hunters' distrust. He thought he had earned the people of Tokyo's trust when he defeated Tayama, but it seemed they still doubted them. Mostly the accusation felt like a knife had been jabbed into Flynn's heart.
"You can watch us if that's what it takes. We won't set off the reactor just let us past.", Flynn pleaded.
When he stepped forward a Hunter fearfully pointed a gun at him. Zelenin tensed ready to fly in front of him.
"Fujiwara…Skins…please.", Flynn said as he sounded surprisingly heartbroken.
"Don't try to tug on our heart strings. Even if you are Ryou, you have been brought up by the enemy.", Fuijwara replied.
The Samurai had looks of disbelief at the Hunters' distrust. They seemed to have easily turned against them after everything they've sacrificed for them. Stardust Dragon and Clear Wing partially materialized behind Flynn with the former roaring.
"That's bullshit! I don't know about the angels but Flynn and his friends have sacrificed everything to protect Tokyo and its people. Why would he suddenly sway from that now?", Clear Wing questioned.
"He's not like us! He's not even from here! They could have just bribed him!", Hunter 3 accused him, pointing at Flynn.
"Why would some foreigner risk themselves for us? He's probably just been spying on us the whole time!", Hunter 4 said.
Flynn felt like he was being stabbed by a bunch of knives. He couldn't believe they were still this skeptical of him. He got banished from Mikado twice for them.
"Regardless of what he's trying to do, the angels may do the opposite! They have already made their intentions to destroy Tokyo clear!", Skins replied.
"What can I do to make you believe me?", Flynn questioned, honestly.
"Maybe if you jump off a ledge…", Hunter 3 grumbled.
Flynn looked down at the ground.
"Come on guys! We've already risked our lives for you so many times. Even if I don't fully trust the angels one thing I know for sure is that I trust Flynn and his intentions. If he suspected the angels were going to destroy Tokyo he wouldn't be helping them!", Isabeau said as Flynn lowered himself.
Flynn bowed on the ground lowering his head.
"Please believe me, everyone. I would never do anything to harm Tokyo. I just want us all to live in peace.", Flynn said as he bowed.
"His heart is pure, that's why we of the angels have entrusted our judgment to both him and Jonathan.", Zelenin explained.
"We just want to defeat Lucifer and save everyone! Please let us pass!", Jonathan pleaded, before joining Flynn.
"…the only way to judge your true intentions is through a duel. When people duel they show their true selves!", Skins said and Flynn rose to his feet.
"If that's true I will prove my intentions to you, sir Skins.", Flynn replied.
The Hunters looked wary as the two raised their gauntlets.
"Duel!", Flynn said.

"I shall summon Samurai Skull and use its effect to send Mezuki from my deck to the graveyard.", Flynn said.

The Hunters looked wary as Flynn revealed the infamous Doomkaiser Dragon.
"I shall activate Zombie World!", Flynn said.

"This place…", Skins murmured.
"Are you ready to face the card of my soul?", Flynn questioned, sounding passionate.
"You mean that nasty ace of yours? Of course I expected to face it when I challenged you.", Skins said.
"I shall tune Plaguespreader Zombie and Samurai Skull! From the dark depths of the grave arise, great dragon noble even in death! Your dreadful roar signals your enemies doom! Synchro summon! Level 6! Doomkaiser Dragon!", Flynn chanted as the ground rumbled.
The Hunters looked wary as wisps flew from the ground as the shaking intensified. Out from the ground emerged the zombified dragon with a proud roar.

Effect: When this card is Special Summoned: You can target 1 Zombie monster in your opponent's GY; Special Summon that target to your field in Attack Position, but destroy it when this card leaves the field.
"It's that card…", Fuijwara said warily as the dragon looked down at them.
It glared at them, angry and annoyed that they doubted Flynn.
"I shall activate Doomkaiser's effect to revive your Photon Thrasher! Roar of the Living Dead! I shall then activate the effect of Zombie Master allowing me to discard a monster to special summon a zombie monster from my graveyard. I choose Plaguespreader Zombie.", Flynn said.

Skins' monster arose with glowing purple eyes and went over to Flynn's side of the field.
"Are you sure about this, Skins?! This guy is crazy!", Hunter 1 questioned.
"I shall tune Plaguespreader Zombie and Photon Thrasher! Cerulean beast that prowls through the night! Here's some prey for you to dine on! Synchro summon! Level 6! Celestial Wolf Lord, Blue Sirius!", Flynn chanted.

"I shall activate the effect of Monster Reborn to allow me to special summon Plaguespreader Zombie from my graveyard.", Flynn said.

Spread your brilliant silver wings and strike down your enemies like a vibrant shooting star! Synchro summon! Level 8! Stardust Dragon!", Flynn chanted.
A tornado swirled forth and out from it appeared the Signer Dragon with a powerful roar.

Fuijwara and Skins were silent when they saw the familiar monster. When he flew down to Flynn's field they imagined the image of Ryou overlapping with Flynn.
"Then, I shall activate Plaguespreader Zombie's effect to special summon it and then tune it with Doomkaiser Dragon! Pious dragon, fallen and abandoned into the depths of the netherworld arise once more! Your ferocious power shines through even in death! Synchro summon! Level 8! Skeletal Dragon Felgrand!", Flynn chanted.

"When this monster is special summoned I can target one monster my opponent controls or a monster in their graveyard to banish! I choose Scrap Archfiend! Necroclaw of the Undead!", Flynn said as he pointed at Skins monster.
Skins sweated as the zombie dragon swiped his claws and made his monster vanish.
"Then, I shall banish Mezuki to special summon Doomkaiser Dragon from my graveyard!", Flynn said.
"Of course…", Isabeau said as she sweat dropped.
"That's four Synchro monsters this turn. Very impressive.", Zelenin commented.
"But…Skins has a tuner in his graveyard!", Jonathan pointed out as Isabeau had a funny expression.
"I know…", Isabeau replied, sweat dropping.
"I can activate Doomkaiser's effect again since I special summoned him! I will revive your Scrap Goblin! Roar of the Living Dead!", Flynn said.
The Hunters looked absolutely fearful as they saw Flynn was about to Synchro summon for the fifth time that turn.
"I shall tune Scrap Goblin and Zombie Master! Please hear my prayer, great dragon with glistening translucent wings…Strike down injustice with divine speed! Level 7! Clear Wing Synchro Dragon!", Flynn chanted.

The dragon flew down from the Heavens as wind swirled around her. She gave a fierce roar as she entered the field.
"W-was that even necessary?!", Hunter 4 questioned, fearfully.
"To think he would grow this strong…It's a good thing I prevented Angel 07 from brainwashing him.", Zelenin thought.
"I shall attack you directly with Stardust Dragon! Cosmic Flare!", Flynn declared.
"I will activate Scrap-Iron Scarecrow to negate your attack and then reset it!", Skins countered.

Effect: When an opponent's monster declares an attack: Target the attacking monster; negate the attack, also, after that, Set this card face-down instead of sending it to the GY.
"Then, I shall attack you directly with Clear Wing! Whirlwind Helldive Slasher!", Flynn declared.
A tornado swirled around Clear Wing and she dove at Skins. He wearily raised up his hands to guard.

"Then, I shall attack you directly with Doomkaiser Dragon! Death Spectral Howling!", Flynn declared.
Doomkaiser breathed fire which made Skin wince.

"That was beyond overkill…", Hunter 2 commented with wide eyes.
"Are you okay, sir Skins?", Flynn asked as he saw the old man hunched over.
He reached forward to lend him a hand, but the Hunters fearfully pointed guns at him.
"It's hard to blame them…the way you duel is so brutal. You don't just defeat your opponents…you completely humiliate them and steal away their monsters. Just like Doomking.", Skins said.
This made Flynn freeze as he became pale. He had never thought of it like that before.
"How about a different interpretation? Flynn never holds back in a duel no matter who he's facing whether it's an evil spirit or a child. It's because he's very passionate about dueling that he always gives it his all. To him doing anything less would be an insult to his opponent. If he really cared about dominating his opponent he would gloat, but Flynn doesn't do that. Instead he respects his opponent and he's very modest. Though…he is extremely dense and unable to see how others may interpret his actions. After all he is a man from the sticks.", Isabeau replied as Flynn's cheeks flushed.
He felt practically naked as Isabeau seemed to psychoanalyze him. It was like his deepest darkest secrets were revealed.
"And whenever he does see that his opponent was hurt he feels very bad about it. Walter even misinterpreted Flynn's style of dueling in the past which made him beat himself up over it.", Isabeau explained.
Flynn gaped, having a look of complete disbelief as the other two sweat dropped.
"H-how did you know?!", Flynn questioned, not realizing how well Isabeau understood him.
"It's like Skins say a duel reveals a lot about a person. You're always full of passion when you duel as if you wouldn't rather do anything else. Unlike most people it's not simply a means of an end to you. I like seeing you like that…that's why I let you handle the dueling so much.", Isabeau replied as her cheeks flushed.
"You do…?", Flynn questioned, sounding completely oblivious.
Skins could hardly hold in a laugh. The Hunters looked stunned at the two's banter.
"That's an interesting interpretation which might have some merit.", Fuijwara said as he held in a laugh.
In this moment to the both of them they saw Flynn as Ryou being an oblivious idiot as he always was.
"Well…you know how perceptive Isabeau can be, Flynn. It seems she's on the money about you.", Jonathan said as steam came out of Flynn's ears.
"Okay…I don't think anyone as oblivious as you can deceive anyone for that long.", Skins relented as Flynn raised up his head thoroughly embarrassed.
