-Chapter-6-
-Pepper pov-
I stand in the doorway looking over Peter. He sleeps in a t-shirt and boxers. It is early enough in the morning that he has a tent up. I sigh and walk out of the room.
I go back to my room and smile at Morgan sleeping peacefully. I frown when I remember my promise to Tony I made after saying goodbye. I promised she would have a normal life. Now she has been through two different attacks.
"How is it?" I jump and turn to see Wanda standing there "Being a mother...how is it truly?"
"The best" I look over at Morgan and smile "I love her and she is my world"
"But now how you love Peter" I turn toward her and she raises her hands in surrender "I promise not to say anything! I was walking past and saw you watching him!"
"Could you" I look around and then back at Wanda "Could you go into his dream and help me see what is happening in it?"
"I can if you agree to help me with something" I tilt my head confused and a little apprehensive as to what is about to be asked of me "I need help...I need help getting date ideas"
"Deal" She smiles and holds out her hand "Obviously shake on it"
I shake her hand and we head to Peters room. She grabs my right hand and places one on his head. It is silent until red takes over the room. Soon my vision goes dark and I can not see anything while I hear everything.
I groan as light pierces into my vision. I cover my eyes and blink to adjust a little bit. I look around confused when I see I am in a bar. What the hell is going on right now?
"Confused as I am?" I look at Wanda beside me and nod "Where is Peter even?"
"Ladies and gentlemen!" We look at the stage where a man is holding a mic "We have our loyal singer here tonight! Put a hand together foooooor THE SINGING SLINGER!"
"This guy sounds like a chump" Wanda nods with a smirk but we both are soon surprised "Oh my good that is Peter"
-Peter singing-
It's nine o'clock on a Saturday
The regular crowd shuffles in
There's an old man sitting next to me
Making love to his tonic and gin
He says, "Son can you play me a memory
I'm not really sure how it goes
But it's sad and it's sweet
And I knew it complete
When I wore a younger man's clothes."
Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feeling alright
Now John at the bar is a friend of mine
He gets me my drinks for free
And he's quick with a joke or to light up your smoke
But there's someplace that he'd rather be
He says, "Bill, I believe this is killing me."
As a smile ran away from his face
"Well, I'm sure that I could be a movie star
If I could get out of this place."
Now Paul is a real estate novelist
Who never had time for a wife
And he's talking with Davy, who's still in the Navy
And probably will be for life
And the waitress is practicing politics
As the businessmen slowly get stoned
Yes they're sharing a drink they call "Loneliness"
But it's better than drinking alone
Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feeling alright
It's a pretty good crowd for a Saturday
And the manager gives me a smile
'Cause he knows that it's me they've been coming to see
To forget about life for a while
And the piano it sounds like a carnival
And the microphone smells like a beer
And they sit at the bar and put bread in my jar
And say, "Man, what are you doing here?"
Sing us a song you're the piano man
Sing us a song tonight
Well we're all in the mood for a melody
And you've got us feeling alright
We all applaud and I am about to get up when I see movement. We are soon in a house and I see Wanda looking in through a cracked open door. I walk over and peek in too. God I was not expecting what I see.
There are four of me on the bed with Peter. We leave the dream the me's start kissing on him. Once out of the dream I look at Wanda who just walks out of the room. I look at Peter and smile before leaving.
I need to start planning on how to make that dream a reality for us both.
