The First Day

Gohan P.O.V

Gohan felt a bit nervous about his first day, to be honest, he didn't know how to hang around other kids his age (considering most of his "friends" were his dad's friends). There was Lime as well as Mr. Lao, but he hasn't hung around them in quite a while since he wanted to train by himself, not to mention they couldn't keep up with his training when they tried joining him in his training schedule. He sighed as he landed a bit away from the front entrance to the city school, maybe he should turn back, learning to socialize with people that don't believe in Ki and view it as as trick can be scary, how is he supposed to fit in when he has the power to destroy the solar system, what if they found out he could use Ki, will they label him a fraud and trickster?

He didn't want to think too much about it, he knew he couldn't turn back now, he did promise his mother that he'd attend school to appease her worry that he won't get anywhere in life with him wanting to pursue teaching martial art's to others, to improve earth's defenses in case the dragon balls ever went inactive and the rest of the Z Warriors perished. He didn't want what happened to Trunk's timeline to happen to theirs. He sighed and began walking to Orange Star Middle school. It wasn't long before he reached the reception desk, he walked up to the lady at the reception desk "Good morning, my name is Son Gohan, I'm here to pick up my schedule and school badge", the lady turned to look at him for a sec before she typed away at her computer and printed something out "this'll be your schedule for the school year" she said as she stood up and walked to the back. Gohan looked down at his schedule and saw that his first class and homeroom period were with someone named Mr. Pencil and he taught History.

'Ugh great, I have history first thing in the morning' he thought as he waited for the receptionist to come back with his school badge that identified him as a student of Orange Star Middle School, 'well at least it shouldn't be anything I haven't already learned' Gohan turned to look outside the windows of the office, there were a bunch of students going to and from class, some stopping at some of the shops and buying food or some clothing as they most likely had a free period. Gohan looked back at where the receptionist had gone through to see her coming back his school badge "here's your school badge, make sure you're always wearing it to identify you as a student, should you lose it, you will have to pay a small fee to replace it, so make sure you always have it on you" she advised him, she began typing away at her computer once she sat down. Gohan took that as his cue to leave "thank you so much ma'am" he began walking away and on to the busy streets lined with students walking about or trying to get to class. Looking down at his schedule, he saw that Mr. Pencil's class was within the Social studies and History building, good thing he got a map of the school before leaving the office. Opening the map, he saw that the building he was supposed to go to was south of where he was, so he began heading in that direction, and after a couple of minutes of walking south, he arrived at the building.

Gohan entered the building looking for room number 2.105, and seeing as most of the rooms within the first floor were 1.100-1.120, he assumed he had to go up to the second floor where his class was most likely located. As he began his ascent up the stairs, he saw two student's walking about, one male and the other female, both of the students were blond, the male had long hair that he had slicked back, and the female student had her hair short, kinda how Bulma had it when he first met her, "h-hey, um, do you guys know where i can find room 2.105?" he asked them hoping they could point him in the right direction. The two students looked at Gohan before smiling "you must be the new student right?" asked the female student, Gohan nervously smiled, not used to speaking to others his age "y-yeah, my name's Son Gohan, what are your names?" the female student smiled before grabbing his arm and began leading him down the hall "My name's Erasa with an E, the grumpy meanie next to me is Sharpner, but between us, he's a big softie", the male student, now identified as Sharpner, looked at Erasa with embarrassment "H-hey who said I was a big softie" he retaliated back at her, Gohan laughed at the bantering between these two strangers.

"So, are you guys taking me to Mr. Pencil's class?" he asked getting their attention once again, both of them flushed realizing they had forgotten about the new student "Y-yeah, he's just down the hall to the left, we were actually headed there ourselves" Erasa told Gohan, Sharpner turned to look at Gohan, he saw Gohan was pretty well built "Hey Gohan, do you work out or do martial arts?" startled at Sharpners' question, Gohan turned sheepish and scratched the back of his head, a habit he inherited from his dad, "I've been practicing martial arts ever since I was four'' both Sharpner and Erasa looked at Gohan in shock "No way! And we thought our friend Videl was Insane for wanting to learn martial arts at nine years old" exclaimed Erasa. The rest of the walk was quiet as they had reached Mr. Pencils class, Gohan remained behind as he waited for the teacher to arrive, there was at least five more minutes until homeroom began, Gohan extended his Ki senses to see if the teacher was almost here, he felt two signatures closing in on his location, one felt weak, and the other one was much stronger, stronger than the average human that's for sure, he turned his head in the direction he felt the two signatures, he saw a tall man, he had a green suit on with a red tie on, he looked older for sure, had two gray streaks in his hair. The person next to him was a girl his age, long hair styled into twin pigtails, she was carrying a stack of paper, most likely assignments that Mr. Pencil printed out to hand out throughout his other classes.

Once both Videl and Mr. Pencil got closer to the class, they saw Gohan waiting at the door waiting for the teacher to arrive, "You must be Son Gohan" replied Mr. Pencil when he saw Gohan "Y-yeah, it's a pleasure to meet you sir" he said as he bowed. The teacher turned to Videl, who was still carrying a part of the stack of assignments, and told her to go on ahead while he got stuff ready for Gohan "No need to bow sonny, please wait out here for a bit while I introduce you class" he gave him a smile as he opened the door to the class and closed it once he entered it. Gohan was a bit nervous, he didn't know what to say for his introduction, he's never been in front of a lot of people his age before, "Good morning class, welcome to History 1101, my name is Mr. Pencil, you can refer to me as professor or Mr. Pencil. Now before we begin class or go over what's to be expected for this course, we have a new student joining us today" upon hearing that Gohan grew a bit more nervous than he previously was, this was it, his first day in a school, what would people think of him? Would they want to be friends with him? He had so many questions, he shook his head to get rid of his nervous thoughts, this wasn't the time to think of thoughts like that, he was about to be called up and introduce himself in front of his classmates, and hopefully not make a fool of himself.

He began thinking of the worst case scenario, what if he messed up his introduction or his pants fell? Or what if he tripped and fell and people laughed at him, or if he used his powers and they thought of him as a freak? "You can go ahead and come in son" hearing his teacher's voice once again snapped him out of his nervous thought process, it was now or never. Upon opening the door, Gohan saw Sharpner and Erasa almost immediately, he felt a bit more confident upon seeing their smiles "H-hello, My name's Son Gohan, I live in the 439 East District, but currently living with a family friend in West City, I like to study and practice martial arts, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintance" he bowed briefly then turned to his teacher to tell him where to sit, "Please make sure to warmly welcome Mr. Gohan here, he also got a perfect score here in his entrance exam, so if you have any questions about the lesson, please refer to him or me" Gohan rubbed the back of his head at hearing his teacher praise him for passing the entrance exam, to be honest, the entrance exam wasn't at all that hard, well to him it wasn't hard considering it was all material he learned and mastered before his dad came back from training in Yardrat.

"Now if you'd please sit next to Ms. Erasa, Ms. Erasa can you please raise your hand" Erasa did as told, even though they already knew each other, Mr. Pencil didn't know that, Gohan simply walked up to the seat next to Erasa and sat down next to her. Gohan smiled at Erasa and Sharpner, who was sitting next to her, glad that he was sitting next to familiar faces at the very least, it made talking with them a bit easier considering they bonded a bit before entering the class, the girl next to Sharpner stood up and moved to the seat next to Gohan, he saw it was the girl who was helping Mr. Pencil, the cute girl with the pigtails. Gohan blushed for a bit before composing himself, where had that thought come from? Gohan shook his head and turned to her when she sat down next to him "Hi my names Videl, It's nice to meet you Gohan" she had a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes, Gohan could tell it was a fake smile, she had a calculative look in her eyes, trying to size him up and see how he would act. Gohan wasn't sure why she was trying to size him up or giving him a fake smile, he decided to ignore it for now "It's nice to meet you too Videl" he said as he gave her a his signature "son smile" as his mom had referred to it, something he, and probably Goten as well, had developed from their father, a smile that puts others at peace, and told them everything will be alright. Videl stopped giving him her fake smile upon seeing he didn't know who she was, she had a feeling that he wouldn't use her to get closer to, she couldn't figure out how, but she trusted her gut feeling and gave him a small smile, she did find it a bit strange to say the least considering practically the whole world knew who she and her father were.

After their short introduction to each other, they paid attention to class, Gohan didn't need to, but did decide to write down some notes from the lesson in case any of his peers needed them. Once class was done with Videl, Sharpner, and Erasa pulled Gohan aside "So Gohan, what class do you have next?" asked Erasa, Gohan looked down at his schedule and saw he had Math 1301, followed by Literature 1415, Chemistry 1101, Biology 1501, he had Lunch afterwards, he had a free period between lunch and his sixth class, Computer Science 1301, and finally PE. "I have math next, you can look at my schedule if you want" he offered them his schedule so they can compare their schedule with his. Upon seeing his schedule and comparing it with her own, Erasa gave Gohan a smile " we have almost the same schedule, except I'm taking Engineering 1103 instead of Biology 1501" Sharpner chimed in as well after comparing his schedule as well " same, me and rasa here share the same schedule, so we'll be seeing each other for most of the day" Videl took his schedule and compared it to her own "huh guess you'll be stuck with me all day Gohan, we have the same schedule" she said, it surprised Gohan how luck he'd gotten to have similar schedules as Erasa and Shapner, and the same schedule as Videl.

Gohan was glad he wasn't gonna be alone this school year, if he was being honest, he didn't expect to have a small friend group help him out on his first day, maybe he could be friends with them if they allowed him in to their friend group "well we better head over to Mr. Serizawa's class, wouldn't want to be late to our second class on the first day" said Erasa breaking Gohan out of his thoughts, after getting his schedule from Videl they headed over to their math class, which was to the East of where they were, the walk out of the building and to the next one took a while since they took a wrong turn and entered the literature building on accident, after getting to the math building, they went upstairs to where their class was. Choosing to sit next to each other in the middle row, they began talking for a bit before their teacher walked in, the rest of class was boring for the four of them, the class was easy for Gohan, Videl and Erasa, Sharpner struggled a bit, but after Gohan explained it to him, he understood the lesson better.

*Lunch Time*

Gohan was glad that it was finally lunch time, he, Videl, Erasa and Sharpner walked to the center square where there were a ton of restaurants, Gohan had the lunch that his mother cooked for him in Bulma's kitchen, but before he could go eat, he went with his friends so they could order their food first, it was a good thing they all went to get burgers instead of getting something different each, after they received their food, Gohan went to a clearing in the little park area and set down a blanket for them to sit down. Upon opening his capsule full of food, Erasa, Videl and Sharpner looked at him in surprise, afterall it was a giant mountain of food that looked like it could feed 4 large families, maybe even 5 "Are you going to eat all of that food Gohan!?" asked Erasa in shock, both Videl and Sharpner nodded dumbly still processing the amount of food present before them, Gohan realized that maybe casually poofing this amount of food would've been a lot for regular humans "you guys can eat some if you'd like, my mom made a bit more, I'm not too hungry either way" he told them hoping that it would alleviate their shock a bit, he was lying of course, he was starving and wanted to eat right now.

To say that his friend group was shocked would be an understatement, especially when he said that she cooked a bit more than what he was currently hungry for, they didn't want to imagine how much food he regularly consumes. Since Gohan kindly offered them some of his food, they grabbed some things off the pile and began eating peacefully, well mostly peacefully, Gohan was busy munching down on the food at a fast pace, reducing the mountain of food at a quick pace. It was a horribly intriguing sight to behold, when Gohan realized that his friends were staring at him with a ghastly look on their faces, he was already done with his food and was drinking his soda he bought from a nearby vending machine, he also realized that the rate at which he ate was probably more than what regular humans can handle, Gohan nervously rubbed the back of his head and laughed nervously "Uh, so, How's my mom's cooking?" he asked hoping to steer away from them asking how he could eat so much without, after all a regular human wouldn't eat that much amount of food without regretting it or probably dying of a heart attack or internal organ failure.

"Uh, i-it's amazing?" said Erasa not sure exactly how to process the sight of a Saiyan eating, not that they knew he was a Saiyan, it was gonna be hard explaining how he could eat so much without mentioning he was half alien to them, if he told them he had a fast metabolism, it wouldn't be a very convincing lie, not to mention he sucked at lying. Gohan lucked out, instead of asking him how he could eat so much, they avoided the question and began talking about class, homework and other stuff growing closer with each other. Considering they all had a free period next, they decided to chill in their spot a bit longer before getting up and going to the shopping district in the Central Square, Gohan, Videl and Sharpner entered the Martial arts store and were looking at the Gi's the store offered, Gohan already had two Gi's he used a lot, one that was similar to his fathers, and the other one was the one that Piccolo gave him, so he didn't buy any Gi's but he did buy some blue and some back wristbands to go with his dad's Gi, and he got some red wristbands for the Gi Piccolo gave him.

Videl had decided to get a navy blue Gi with red wristbands, and a white Gi with black wristbands, while Sharpner decided to get a red Gi with black accents and gold wristbands, and black Gi with gold accents with red wristbands. After they finished paying for their clothing, they hung out for a while before heading over to their next class, which was located north of where they were. Computer science was similarly as boring for Gohan considering Bulma taught him to code between the three years they were waiting for the androids to appear, what surprised Gohan was that Erasa was bored out of her mind as well, when he asked her, she said that she already knew everything that was going to be talked about for this class having learned it years ago, she said her role model for taking up engineering and computer science was Bulma Briefs, once the class finished, they headed over to the gymnasium for their P.E class, to say that it was massive was an understatement, there was an olympic sized pool on the first floor on the second floor there was a weight room that doubled as an indoor track race in. luckily today they were going to be going outside and some martial arts outdoors in the other gymnasium that only had a basketball court.

Gohan and Sharpner entered the guys' changing room to change into their Gi's for today's P.E class, Gohan changed into his fathers Gi, while Sharpner changed into the black Gi he just bought, in the middle of changing, Sharpner saw Gohan's scars, scars he got from previous fight "Hey Gohan, how'd you get that many scar's?" he asked slightly worried for his new friend, Gohan had forgotten about the scars to be honest, he didn't know how to explain it without saying he's been in fights where he could've died "Oh those? I got them in training accidents when I was learning how to use a sword" it wasn't a complete lie as he did learn how to use a sword, but Sharpner didn't have to know that the scar's didn't come from a sword. When they finished changing they met outside with the girls and headed outside to where their P.E/Martial arts teacher was, Gohan was shocked to see who their P.E teacher was "Woah Krillin is that you?" Krillin was equally surprised to see Gohan "Gohan!, man am I glad to see you" he exclaimed as he brought him in to a hug "when ChiChi said you were entering school, I never would've thought that you'd be going to this one" while Krillin and Gohan were catching up, Videl, Erasa and Sharpner were surprised that their teacher and Gohan knew each other.

"Hey Sensei, how do you know Gohan?" asked Videl, curious as to how they knew each other, Krillin stopped hugging Gohan and turned to Videl "Great Question Miss Videl, You see me and Gohan's Father are childhood friends, got to meet this lil rascal when he was four, the rest is history, you can even say i'm his uncle" he said while laughing slightly, satisfying Videl's curiosity. Once Krillin finished laughing, he turned to the class and began their training, as it turns out, Hercule made it mandatory for the students in Middle School and High School to learn Martial Arts to have a skill to defend themselves should the need arise, something Krillin agreed with, if he had a say, he wouldn't mind teaching them how to harness Ki, after all he was around their age when he began learning to use Ki, but considering Hercule has declared the usage of Ki as mere tricks, it wouldn't be possible to teach them how to harness and use it.

Throughout the rest of class, Krillin only began them off lightly considering it was still the first day of class, and taught them the basics of the Turtle Style way of fighting, there was no way he was gonna teach them Hercule's Satan Style of fighting, there were too many opening in his opinion and relied on heavy hitting a lot, when some students questioned him that this wasn't Mr. Satan's fighting style he told them that it wasn't and that it was the style that he had learned and was vastly superior to the Satan Style, upon hearing that, some students got angry at hearing their teacher say that his fighting style was superior to the World Champions fighting style, but Videl butt in saying that it was true, upon getting the basics of the fighting style, she noticed that it suit her a lot better as it provided more defense, while still being able to attack fiercely, upon hearing Hercule's own daughter say it was true, they backed down while Krillin gained a smug look, Gohan was still confused as to why they stopped protesting at Krillin not knowing Videl was Hercule's daughter "Thank you Ms. Satan, glad you can see the benefits to the Turtle School style of fighting" Gohan immediately realized why the students backed off when she agreed with Krillin "I didn't know you were Mr. Satan's Daughter" he said, surprising the entire class minus Krillin, who only sighed and shook his head, he knew that ChiChi didn't allow Gohan to watch TV for long, but he didn't know it was that bad.

Deciding it was best for Gohan to deal with it on his own to grow his social skills better, he ended class a bit shorter than when they were supposed to finish, Videl, Erasa and Sharpner pulled Gohan aside so that the rest of the class wouldn't bombard Gohan with questions "So you didn't know Videl's father was Mr. Satan?" asked Sharpner in surprise, Gohan merely rubbed the back of his head and nervously chuckled "Um not really if i'm being honest, my mom doesn't let me watch much TV, say's it'll "rot my brain" and that a future scholar shouldn't watch "nonsensical stuff" on TV" he told them already knowing how his mother was when it came to his education. When briefly talking during their free period, they came to learn that Gohan's mother was extreme when it came to educating Gohan, as far as they know, she's never asked Gohan what he wanted to do in life and rather forced him to aspire to become a scholar, and sure for a while he was happy doing what his mother told him, but after the events leading up to Cell, Gohan didn't want to simply become a scholar, he wanted to make Ki practicing more common to the world so that they could deal with dangers should the Z-Fighters fall, after all they weren't immortal, and they wouldn't always be around to fight off planet threatening dangers.

After speaking with his friends, he told them he had to head to the office to get his dorm room as he forgot to ask about it when he came in early in the morning, after that they split up for a while, Gohan flew to Capsule Corp to get his Things as he realized he had forgotten his capsule containing his luggage in his room in capsule corp, after telling his mom and Bulma about his day, they were glad to hear Gohan made some friends already, they even teased him when he mentioned Videl and Erasa. He told them Goodbye when he got his capsule and flew back to school and headed over to the front office where he saw the reception lady there "Hey ma'am, i forgot to say I'll be staying in the Orange Star Middle School Dorms, i just came to know which room i'll be staying" he told her, she looked up and saw it was Gohan again "can i have a name" she stated while pulling up the dorm arrangement sheet "Son Gohan" he said, after a bit of scrolling she printed out a page and handed it to him "here's your dorm number and electronic key, and where the dorms are located, if you have anymore questions, you can come here between 7 AM and 5 PM" Gohan smiled upon getting the paper for where the dorms where located "thank you" he said as he bowed and walked away to the dorms.

Upon getting to where the dorms are located, he went up to where his room was, he wondered who his roommate was gonna be, he hoped it was gonna be Sharpner when he told him that he was also staying in the dorms, when he got to the door, he used the electronic key that he was given and opened the door, it was a pretty big space, the kitchen was next to the door and the living room was straight ahead, there was a terrace with a pool as well, Gohan was gonna enjoy living here, closing the door, he walked in and went over to the locked door, considering the other one had the door opened, he assumed the other room was his, but before he settled in he wanted to say hi to his roommate. Knocking on the door, he waited for the door to open, he heard shuffling around before the door opened to reveal Sharpner, huh, how lucky was he, at least he didn't have a total stranger for a roommate. Sharpner smiled upon seeing Gohan and walked out the room " So I'm assuming you're going to be my roommate for middle school" he said, Gohan simply smiled and nodded before excusing himself to set up his room 'yup, I'm gonna like it here' he thought as he began to set up his room

A/N; Hey um, super sorry for taking so long to upload another chapter, been super busy with uni and work, not to mention my computer had broken down halfway through my first semester and had use my dad's computer to work on school work, I now have my own computer and am able to work on stories once again, still trying to get into the rhythm of writing again, so if there are further delays in chapters, blame writers block lol, anyways imma try and work on some more stories and try to finish them, hopefully i'll have enough music to help me write out these chapters lol
