Silver knew he didn't have time to catch his breath, not that he ever did he'd barely beaten Metal Sonic 3.0 and now he had to chase Eggman Nega. He Silently cursed himself for trusting the man in the first place. He flew through the base as fast as he could carry himself just in time to catch up to Eggman Nega who was standing in a chamber with a white emerald in the centre. Nega seemed to hear him coming so he turned the egg mobile around to look at him. "Hee Hee Hee I see you managed to evade my Robot" He mocked in a confident tone though Silver didn't seem too impressed

"Sure let's go with that" Silver said in an exhausted tone holding out the red chaos emerald that he had ripped out of 3.0 Eggman Nega seemed a little surprised but not too intimidated Silver was basically running on empty and it was clear as day he couldn't fight much longer.

"So Metal was destroyed was he? Can't get good help these days! Oh well if you want someone killed right…" He pressed a button on the Eggmobile and he descended as a red mech suit came up from the ground. It had one hand that was a drill and another that seemed to conduct electricity. Silver was used to fighting things bigger than him but in a closed off space like this he felt a little outmatched. "You kill them yourself!" Eggman Nega yelled as he attempted to skewer him with the drill, Silver just managed to avoid it. Grabbing the drill with his Telekinesis He was forced to let go when he saw the mech preparing to fire missiles from its back.

He avoided most of the explosions but was thrown back by one of the blasts he hit the wall hard knocking the wind out of him. "Eeh hee hee they don't make em like this anymore still in perfect working order after all these years!" Silver put up a barrier of psychic energy as Nega attacked with the drill once again. He wasn't exactly sure how long he could keep the barrier up and as soon as Eggman Nega had broken through it he shocked Silver with the lightning cannon.

Silver screamed in pain barely remaining conscious he could feel himself slipping as Eggman Nega let him slump against the wall. "First and only warning Silver the hedgehog. Stay out of my way" Nega took the Red emerald back and then grabbed the white gem from the centre of the room. Silver was just awake enough to see Eggman Nega step through the portal to the past. Silver dragged himself along the floor of the base only just getting through the portal before it closed, this wasn't ideal he'd left without saying goodbye to anyone but really he didn't have much choice in the matter.

He was in some sort of city? It was a lot nicer than any place he'd been in his timeline but he didn't really have much time to take in the sights before he lost consciousness; he could have sworn he saw someone approaching before his vision faded to black, not that he could tell what they looked like in his current state.

When Silver woke up his first thought was that he didn't want to get up, he was lying in what was by far the most comfortable bed he'd ever been in, not that there was much competition there, he usually slept on the floor and when he did find beds they were older than he was.

Where… what?

Ever so slowly he began to take notice of his surroundings, for starters he was in a house of some kind and he could hear someone… talking? Though he was only hearing half of a conversation on the desk near his bed there were a bunch of tools and half finished devices.

He looked around for anything that seemed dangerous, aside from the desk itself everything was neatly organised nothing seemed particularly dangerous.

Once he had checked his surroundings he made sure he wasn't restrained in any way he focused on himself, he wasn't injured as far as he could tell… well no more injured that he already had been in fact his injuries seemed to have been treated, his leg was even bandaged.

He attempted to stand up but almost immediately fell he pulled a chair towards him with his telekinesis as something to catch his fall, he leaned on the chair as he inched his way towards the door stopping when he heard a somewhat familiar voice though he was only hearing half of a conversation

"No I don't know who he is but he was pretty beat up. I treated his wounds as best I could but he'll need a real doctor." Silver recognised the voice, and whoever this was they seemed to be helping him but he didn't completely trust it. He burst open the door, raising a barrier of psychic energy just in case but dropping it almost immediately.

"Tails?" Silver questioned as he looked down at the young fox all though Tails already looked ready for a fight but now he just looked confused.

"Do I know you?" Was Tails's only response Guess that means they don't remember me either Silver thought sighing softly.

"Evidently not" Silver sounded a little disappointed. He could remember everything that happened but nobody else could, not really much of a surprise considering technically nothing happened. Sonic extinguished the flames that became Iblis so that timeline never existed in the first place.

"I suppose we haven't met, not in this timeline anyway." He had meant to say that under his breath but tails seemed to have heard him and from the way he was looking at him he got the feeling he was in for some sort of lecture.

"Another Timeline you mean you're a time traveller? I have so many questions: Does time operate on a Fixed Timeline or a Dynamic Timeline? Or is it the one where every choice creates a different timeline?" Silver simply blinked at his line of questioning he understood… some of what Tails had said but he was still pretty lost.

"Uh… I don't know? I'm from this timeline 200 years into the future but I have memories. From a timeline that technically never happened, which is where I know you from, it's kind of hard to keep everything straight in your head." Silver felt exhausted just explaining it though that might have been his injuries he just decided to sit down.

"So You're from the future? Let's assume that's true, why did you go back in time" Tails didn't know for sure if he believed the story but there was something about Silver he certainly didn't seem like anyone he'd met.

"Because the future is a burning Hell scape." Silver answered curtly, sounding ruder than he meant to. "In the future the world has been decimated by an immortal creature known as the Ifrit, its flames consume all, people barely scrape by day to day. Even worse, I'm pretty much the only person who can even delay the thing. I came back so I can stop it permanently. If i've got my dates right The Ifrit will emerge in this timeline in just a few days if I can get to it before it reaches full power I can kill it for good" Tails listened to his explanation carefully yet another creature that could cause the apocalypse nothing they hadn't dealt with before.

"Well lucky for you I happen to have the greatest hero of my time on speed dial i'm sure Sonic would want to hear about all this" Tails got up to search for his phone. Silver knew about Sonic from the memories he'd gotten back and he could certainly use the help.

"There is one more thing I haven't mentioned, it's sort of the reason I was so injured when you found me there's someone else searching for the Ifrit a man named Eggman Nega, he plans to take control of it when it emerges and use it's power to dominate the world"

"Eggman Nega? What? that creep from Blaze's world?"

"You know Blaze!?" Silver accidentally shouted before trying to calm himself down. "But I saw her in the future or in the other future she was my best friend and… she died protecting the world." He finished not really wanting to think about that memory anymore than he had to.

"That certainly sounds like something she'd do but no as far as I'm aware she's fine she's never mentioned you though. " Silver knew that probably meant she didn't remember him but he was just relieved to hear that she was okay. Tails typed something on his phone before putting it down.

"I've told sonic everything you've told me and asked Knuckles to look into any legends involving this Ifrit if anyone knows ancient prophecies it'd be him as for you Silver you need to get back to bed, Your leg is strained so badly I'm surprised you can walk you've got bruises all over your back and even some internal bleeding"

"Wait internal bleeding? Isn't that where the blood is supposed to be?" Silver didn't pay much attention to Tails's lecture about how badly he was hurt until Tails physically pushed him into bed and he realised he didn't have the strength left to stop him so with no other options he simply decided to try and sleep.
