Silver woke up a few hours later he was pretty sure he wasn't recovered but he wasn't in any physical pain anymore, He stood up keeping his weight of his sprained leg he could hear a few more voices outside of the bedroom and he was pretty sure he recognised them but he couldn't place a name of the top of his head.

He immediately recognised two of them as Sonic and Knuckles but they really weren't his focus he barely even noticed them greet him when he saw the third person. "Blaze…"

She stared at him for a moment, and he allowed himself to hope she had recognised him but unfortunately she didn't seem to. "Oh you're Silver right? Tails mentioned you, when I heard Eggman Nega was involved In this I decided to offer my help. It's very nice to meet you." She held out her hand and after probably too long of a pause Silver accepted the handshake.

Silver took a hold of Blaze's hand and the pair felt a sudden spark. What felt like hours to the two of them was just a second to everyone else Blaze let go and Jolted back. "S-Silver wh-what?" Everything had come back to her and it was too much to process all at once. It took just under a minute for Blaze to compose herself. "I'm glad to see you're okay"

Silver felt a wave of relief wash over him, Blaze seemed to remember him; he wasn't sure how that worked but it was nice that somebody knew him. "So wait, you do know him, Blaze?" Knuckles interjected snapping the pair out of it.

"Sort of I didn't remember anything until just now." Blaze explained calmly not that it answered Knuckles' questions if anything it just raised more questions. "So Silver, how much do you know about time travel?" Blaze turned to Silver all though SIlver didn't really know how to answer.

"Less than I should" He answered somewhat sheepishly he didn't exactly plan any further than stopping the Ifrit, not that he wanted to admit that outloud. "But it's really my only hope right now. It's either this or fight an immortal creature until it eventually kills me."

The room went quiet as Silver realised he'd said something depressing again "Oh uh sorry about that"

"No, that's okay buddy." Sonic said, patting Silver on the back to Silver's slight confusion. you can't have many people to talk to in the future, so it's not your fault you're a little awkward." Silver couldn't argue with that even if he wanted to.

"So knuckles the Ifrit, what do we know?"

"Well from what I could find out it's an immortal being that spits fire and has the power to bring about the end of the world" Silver certainly couldn't argue with that description. "There is one thing though in order to gain it's immortality it needs to feed on Chao."

"What's a Chao?" Silver asked earning confused stares from all 3 members of team Sonic

"You don't have Chao in the future?" Tails asked in disbelief.

"The future must be no fun" Sonic commented under his breath, not really intending for Silver to hear him.

"It really isn't" Silver replied dryly, looking over the pair. "So these things called Chao, we'd just need to find them and keep them away from the Ifrit right?"

"In theory that would work but there are far too many of them for that and you're injured so our chances would be worse, we're going to look into possible places the Ifrit might emerge but you are staying here until you're recovered" Silver opened his mouth to argue with Tails, but he had a feeling there was no point in trying.

Sonic, Tails and Knuckles left but Blaze elected to stay behind, to make sure Silver didn't run off anywhere while they were gone. There had been some tension between the two of them since Blaze regained her memory. Neither one of them really knew what to say and Blaze hadn't taken her eyes off Silver Since the other 3 had left.

They'd fought together, Lived Together, they'd cared for each other more than anyone else so why was it so awkward between them? Silver asked himself internally before his thoughts were interrupted by Blaze coming over and sitting besides him. "Could we… Lie down like we used to?" Silver realised what she meant immediately, back in Crisis city they would scarcely find two beds and they had become quite accustomed to sharing. He nodded before laying back.

In a matter of moments the two were eye to eye with her head resting on his shoulder, he put one arm around her and it immediately became apparent she was different to the blaze he had known physically anyway. She was devoid of the injuries that had scarred her in their timeline and while she wasn't exactly heavy the blaze he remembered was half starved, she had clearly lived a better life this time and he couldn't be happier for her. It was a miracle to see her alive and she was in a better state than when he'd lost her.

He looked back and noticed she was looking at him, "I missed you so much." Her tone was shaky, neither of them had remembered enough to miss the other so it all coming back was too much. "Even though I couldn't remember you I just felt like something was missing."

Silver wasn't often lost for words but in emotional moments like this his mind failed him "I don't want to lose you again Blaze, I know you did it to protect me but I-I just wouldn't know what to do without you around."

"Well, you seemed to handle it pretty well, but you're right I couldn't let go of you again" She said quietly, almost as if she thought it made her seem weak.

"Well lucky for you, I'm not going anywhere" Not entirely true he'd probably go back to the future to see how Tulip was doing, but he couldn't see himself living there anymore. "I've got a couple things to take care of in the future but after that I was thinking of just living her-" He stopped suddenly when he heard a faint rumbling sound. "Wait Blaze are you… purring?"

"What!? No! Shut up. Silver laughed softly at her flustered response, probably one of his most genuine laughs in quite some time. After a few minutes of comfortable Silence he noticed Blaze had fallen Asleep, Silver wasn't normally one for sleeping during the day but he decided to make an exception this time, It'll be good for my leg he rationalized as he drifted off to sleep, Embraced in Blazes warmth
