Chapter 9 Hizuru's New Ruler

Mikasa's POV:

It was just like Aya said, the ruler of Hizuru passed away from sickness, and Lady Kiyomi is now asking me to go with her to Hizuru so that I could become the next queen. Even though I don't want to go there, Eren tells me that he'll come with me since this is another one of the deciding factors of the future relationship with Hizuru.

Now Eren, Gloria, Aya, and Clive are now on the ship bound for Hizuru, Kiyomi notices the soldiers and asks, "Lady Mikasa, Mr. Yeager, those aren't the soldiers that protected the capital, am I right?"

Eren says, "Yes, Lady Azumabito. Those are the soldiers picked by the queen and ourselves, let's say that we aren't trusting the military and we were prepared to strike if they started to rebel."

"I see... all the nations have to endure such a thing, and Hizuru might also be in a civil war. Ms. Tybur here has informed me that both of you were dating, however, not all of our people will agree of Eldians are the leader of our nations."

"Compared to the other nations, Hizuru's people are tolerant." Aya says. "But there is one way that can shut them off, and that is a duel."

"A duel?" We ask with confusion. I ask, "Can you tell us more about it?"

Lady Azumabito says, "There are other Royal families who wanted to take the throne themselves. It wasn't a bad thing, but we would rather have you as the leader, because you'll have the power to change the fate of the Eldians."

"We've heard from Aya here that Eldians in Hizuru were poor and hard to find jobs, that's why we're going to help." Eren says.

Clive asks, "So may I ask how many nations are there?"

"Let's see... excluding Eldia, there are a number of 13 nations. In the East, we have Hizuru, Porzellan, and Indien. In the center, we have Zweiflusse, Irak, and Agypten. In the West, we have Marley, Stamer, Vilij, and Engel. And to the South, we have Schonheit, Afrika, and Sudlich." Gloria says.

"That sure is a lot of them." I comment.

After getting to the Hizuru, we look around and we're in awe of how different it looks compared to Paradis Island. The buildings are wood buildings and also tall, and the soldiers seem to wear armor.

A soldier comes and she bows, "General Masumi from the Ground Self-Defense Force at your service."

Aya also bows and says, "General Aya from the Air Self-Defense Force. We've brought Lady Mikasa and Sir Eren Yeager for the duel of the throne."

Masumi asks, "Both of you are here for the throne?"

I step forward and say, "I am." I show them the crest on my wrist and Masumi says, "Very well."

After we are taken to our guest rooms, Lady Kiyomi decide to give Eren and me a single room, this causes us to blush, but we also change their dress code so that we will be able to go to the meeting.

The suits that we're wearing are called kimonos, and males and females look different. And just after we were summoned to the meeting, we met other nobles who are against us.

"You're telling me that you are trying to have a half-Eldian for the throne of Hizuru? That's bullshit!" A noble yells.

"Sir Nobunaga is right, especially someone who hails from the Island of Devils, if we have her as the queen, people from other nations will stop trade with us!" Another noble says.

"But if we have connections with the Eldia like we used to, then we'll be safe from the Rumbling! The Eldia Empire has good connections with our nation and they didn't attack us during the Great Titan War." The third noble says.

Now Eren, Gloria, Clive, and I were sitting beside Lady Kiyomi, Eren sighs, "I knew this is going to happen... should we do anything?"

"It's fine." Lady Kiyomi replies, "Lady Mikasa, since we have Aya teach you the style of Hizuru duels, are you prepared?"

"Of course." I reply.

Besides me, there are seven people who also want the throne, so it is just like a tournament. I was asked to wear some sort of armor, and there are 3 matches and the one got two wins to go to the next round. There is Horse Archery, something that Sasha is very good at, Kendo, a duel with bamboo swords, and the last one is Judo.

After defeating my first opponent with a 3-0 win, I hear some people muttering, "That girl is so strong..." "I heard that she comes from the Ackermann family." "No way! You mean the family of warriors who served the king of Eldia?"

Gloria says, "You did a good job, Mikasa."

"Indeed. You really don't give them a chance to retaliate." Clive adds.

I look at Eren, who smiles a little at me and says, "You do a pretty good job, Mikasa."

"Ereh..." I smile a little, and then I decide to work harder by defeating the next opponent, who comes from the Hideyoshi family. He says, "I heard that you're an Eldian, but that doesn't matter. As long as you aren't going to harm our people, I don't care what kind of blood you are."

"I see." This boy has my respect, and he manages to win against me with Horse Archery. But I manage to win against him with Kendo. And in the end, the Judo match is intense, but I barely win against him.

After the duel is over, he informs me, "Your final opponent, Nobunaga, dislikes Eldians. He'll do anything to win, even if it's cheating. If you want to save the Eldians of Hizuru, you have to become the queen."

I feel a lot of pressure, but I can't show any weakness. I'm strong, and I can do this. And everything is just like Hideyoshi said, Nobunaga has been trying to use words to attack, but I don't take that in mind and I still manage to beat him in the end.

"So the winner is Mikasa Ackermann. Meaning that she will be the next queen of Hizuru." I feel relieved as I manage to win, my friends and especially my boyfriend Eren come to congratulate me.

"How could I lose to an Eldian..." Nobunaga mutters with anger, "I can't accept this..."

"You've lost, Nobunaga." Kiyomi replies in a cool tone. "So deal with it, or else you'll be kicked out of the noble families."

After a few days, my coronation has been spreading around the whole nation. Some people are having a hard time accepting me as the new queen, mostly those who hate Eldians, and they try to rebel against the government because of it. But a majority of people in Hizuru support me as the queen, and with the help of Gloria, Aya, and surprisingly Clive, who reveals himself as the Defender Titan and protect the people from attacks, the rebellion is done and Hizuru is in peace.

The news didn't go to the other nations because this nation still needs to bargain with the other nations and after 2 months, I decide to reveal Eren as the Founding Titan to the whole nation and propose marriage to him.

At first, a lot of people disagree and they also want to set up a similar duel just like how I took the throne, but Eren manages to beat the other males and win in the end. And by showing what the Founder can do and promising their safety, as well as helping out those in need while we explore the whole Hizuru nation, Eren is accepted in the end and we have a wedding.

After a few days, the two of us decide to leave anything to General Hideoyoshi and General Masumi while we go back to Paradis Island. Once we get back, we are greeted by the Scouts.

"You two are finally back." Connie says. "How was Hizuru? Is that great?"

"It was actually nice." Eren replies, "And the people there are also friendly."

"To think that you've become the queen, Mikasa." Sasha says to me, and I blush, "Well... yeah... it was actually hard since people don't trust us first."

Armin says, "But that makes Eren the King of Hizuru, right? How would the people there find out that he's the Founding Titan?"

Eren says, "Action speaks louder than words, I use my actions to prove that I am no harm to their nation."

After chatting for a while, both Eren and I are summoned to the capital. Historia, Ms. Yeager, Peter, Odom, Adler, and Katrina did attend our wedding as well, and Historia was still pouting at me for marrying Eren first, and Ms. Yeager was also happy about the marriage as well.

When we walk back to the capital, we were surprised to find a girl with the queen. The girl says, "Eren Yeager and Mikasa Ackermann. I'm glad to see you again!"

"I remember you're..." I blink as I remember that back when Wall Rose was breached, I saved the girl and her mother from the Titan.

"My name is Louise Cara, thanks to the queen, I was told that I have the royal blood of the Cart Titan. I'm still the same person you saved that day. I realized something when you, a human, took down that Titan: Without power, you can't protect anything. Ever since that day, I wanted to get closer to you, so I..."

I wasn't expecting to have a fan, so I try to hide my face with my scarf. Eren says, "I see, as you can see, this is our plan."

Then Eren tells her about the Rumbling plan and destroying the world. But deep down inside, I still think what we're doing is wrong, but it seems like we don't have a choice. I can't kill him, especially since he's my husband, and our bond grows more and more.

After that's done, we also go back to Shiganshina and find other members of the Royal Family, that also includes Ms. Yeager. I still can't believe that Ms. Yeager is a Titan shifter like Eren even until this day. The Deceiver Titan has a move called, "Substitute Split." It can create a second body and she can fight as both Titan and a human. Ms. Yeager is also good at fighting as well, she said that she used to train with her father when she was little.

Despite everything, she's still the same Ms. Yeager, only that she started to support her son instead of trying to stop him. Especially the Rumbling...

"Mikasa, you're spacing out, are you okay?" Eren looks at me with concern, and I say, "I'm fine... It's just a lot of things happened these months... and I still can't believe it..."

"Things will go on a downturn after this." Eren says to me with a frown. "I'll explain to you another day, we should try to be happy since we're back in Paradis Island. Our home."

"You're right." I say as we continue to train with the other Titan Shifters and our faction of soldiers.

Here is a new chapter, and as you can see, Eren and Mikasa have become the rulers of Hizuru, and Hizuru is now Eldia's biggest Allies. I also reveal the nations in this Attack on Titan world, I hope you like this chapter and the next chapter will be talks with Floch and Sasha, as well as Eren's second wedding with Historia.
