Gentlemen... I'm back... For now. Sorry about the late update, (and the lousy update schedule in general) I've been busy.

my bad guys Anyway, enjoy the chapter.

Engineer, Pyro and Sniper went about exploring the mansion. Their fights already happened, so they decided to walk around and talk to each other.

"Mmphy mpho mhm mhve m mbpht hmpd?"

"Why do I have this?" Engie raised his gloved hand, flexing it to make robotic noises. "Ah, um, accidentally cut my hand off during a building accident. I was gonna ask Medic to heal it back, but I remembered I had found blueprints that belonged to my grandfather for a robot hand, so I decided to replace my hand with the Gunslinger."

"Oh, now I remember," Sniper said, trying his best not to laugh. "You were screaming so loud from your lab; most of us were wondering why you didn't run to Medic, heh." Engineer turned to Sniper and frowned, punching him in the shoulder. With his robotic hand.

They walked into the library, marveling at the scope of it. Rambling upstairs, they ran into Isabelle, who was at a table, writing on an invitation similar to the ones the mercs received recently. She looked up and saw them approaching.

"Oh hey!" Isabelle waved at them.

"Howdy." Engie waved, as did the other two. He looked at the invitation. "Whatcha got there?"

Isabelle held up the invitation. "This? This is for the new fighter we've invited to our fighting tournament."

"Are you usually the one writing these things?" Sniper asked.

"Oh no, not usually. Mr. Sakurai usually writes these." Isabelle said. "The reason why I'm writing this now is because he's busy with his video channel." Sniper raised an eyebrow. "He makes those videos to help people on creating video games, since he has a lot of experience with making them. He even made one based on this fighting tournament!" Sniper nodded in response.

"Anyway, I'm all done writing the letter." She put the letter into the envelope and sealed it shut with the signature red emblem. "All I have to do now is put it in the mailbox! I wonder why he gave me so many envelopes though."

She got up from the table, but when she went to pick up the invitation, the wind blew it away… into a bonfire sitting right in front of Pyro.

"Hey! What the?!" She ran to get a fire extinguisher, but she came back to find that Engie had already extinguished the fire.

"This kinda thing happened all the time at Mann Co." Engie explained. Isabelle nodded and looked at what was burning.

"Oh no… That was the record and times of Smashville, and that was our only copy of it…" she said gloomily. "...it had a picture of me in it." she added quickly. "Oh well, I can order another copy later." She went back to the table to write another letter.

"Alright, I made another one, hopefully this one doesn't burn up." she said as she walked toward them. However, she wasn't watching her step and tripped over the burned book. Falling on her face, she let go of the letter. Isabelle looked up just in time to see the letter fly out of an open window and get impaled by multiple arrows, making her groan. Multiple people yelled "Sorry!" quite loudly from outside.

"...ah, I guess this is why he gave me so many envelopes to use."

"I mean, it was only two envelopes," Sniper said. "I don't think it's going to happen again." Isabelle nodded.

"I guess you're right." A few moments later, she wrote down another invitation and put it in another envelope. She exited the library along with the mercs and made their way out.

"Alright, nothing should happen now," Isabelle said, waving the invitation in front of her as she talked. "Barely anything happens in these hallways, so-" The invitation was snatched right out of her hands as the Piranha Plant gobbled it up. She stared in disbelief, with her mouth agape. She looked at the culprit… and the individual holding said culprit.

"Junior!" Isabelle shouted. "This is like the fifth time this month something like this happened!" Bowser Jr. jumped and immediately fled, laughing as he ran away with the potted plant.

This continued on for a while, losing and watching their invitations get destroyed right in front of them. The mercs even offered to help Isabelle deliver the invitation by rushing to the mailbox.

..that didn't help either. The invitations got fried by lightning bolt strikes…

"Pika… CHUUUUUU!"

"GRAHHHHH!" Sniper groaned in pain.

Got torn to bits…

"HEY SMOKEY! LOOK OUT! DUCK!" Engie yelled. Pyro hit the deck and threw the invitation into the air as it got ripped apart by gigantic minigun bullets… wait a minute,

"What are you wankers doing here?!" Sniper yelled at them. "This isn't a bloody shootin' range!"

"Heavy told little baby this is not place for shooting."

"Shut the hell up!"

And inhaled…

"Hey! What the…" Engie tugged on the invitation, fighting back against the wind. "Give me that back you pink son of a- WAUGH-" he screamed as Kirby inhaled him, just as the puffball did to Sniper just recently. A bewildered expression spread across his face as soon as he escaped. He slowly turned to Kirby, who was now holding a wrench.

"Dispensa goin' up!" he exclaimed, quickly building a semi-functional Dispenser. Engie could just groan in response. The invitation had disappeared in the void that is Kirby's stomach.

It kept going on like this until they were down to one more letter. All of them were tired, beaten down, and just ready to die. (or take a nap, basically the same thing) Isabelle wrote the final invitation, put it in the letter and sealed it.

She cautiously walked downstairs along with the mercs that were just with her. They slowly made it down to the mailbox, and finally, it was time to deliver the letter.

"Damn, that took way longer than it needed to." Engie remarked. Pyro muffled in agreement. All of them let out a sigh in relief as Isabelle took out the invite.

"This reminds me, I think there's a new mailman now. They didn't tell me who it was though." Isabelle said, opening the mailbox. She was just about to put the letter in the mailbox, but then…

The mailman arrived! The group finally found out who the new mailman was. They couldn't miss him, mostly because he came in at 1556 miles per hour…

Dragonite quickly stopped right in front of them with incredible control, shocking all of them with its sudden appearance. They all stood there for a moment, paralyzed while the wind from Dragonite's arrival blew towards them.

…sending the invitation flying.

Isabelle's brow furrowed as she clenched her fist(?) as hard as she could.

"YOU KNOW WHAT?!" she yelled. "i… think I'm done writing letters." she quietly said, her tone changing quickly. She angrily turned on her heel and walked back to the mansion. The mercs followed, leaving a very confused Dragonite behind.

Isabelle sighed once again in defeat. She looked back at the mercs behind her.

"...do you guys wanna play Smash?"

"Can you guys stop camping?" Isabelle groaned.

"Funny that you say that, heh…" Engie said from behind them, messing around on his guitar. Isabelle was actually camping herself before this. Then Sniper and Pyro realized they could camp as well. They also decided to team up and use that cheap strategy against her.

Pyro dealt the final blow with the Flare gun, knocking her off and then KO'ing her off the side with an Axetinguisher swing after jumping toward her with the Detonator.

Isabelle slowly turned to look at Pyro, narrowing her eyes.

"I hate you."

They all laughed at that, including her.

"Mmpho mps hs mphy mmpe mmpng mp mmphe?" Pyro asked her.

"Ummm…" Isabelle didn't understand. Engie quickly translated it for her.

"Oh, who are we trying to invite?" she repeated. "I think it's a guy we've been trying to invite for a while now., judging from all the envelopes Mr. Sakurai gave me. I'm sure that they've gotten at least one letter delivered at some point, but I don't think they've responded."

"...But who was the guy?" Sniper asked again.

"Oh, I forgot to mention that. It's someone called- hey! You started another game without me! And you took a stock before I could notice!" Pyro chuckled in response.

The invitation that blew away traveled for hours, fluttering down into a faraway forest. There, sat a small wooden puppet, dressed in a blue cape and a matching blue cap. A small star descended from the sky and noticed the puppet. It slowly swirled around the wooden figure conjuring a spotlight onto it. Somehow, the figure grew into four times its original size. The star closed into the figure, still spiraling.

The figure opened its eyes, shaking its head. He started to walk around, but he kept crashing into nearby trees.

"It's been a while since I've had to do this," he said, rubbing his head. He slowly got the hang of walking again. Once he did, he tried to leave the forest, but then, the invitation fell right in front of it.

He opened it up and started to read it.

"Smash Bros…"
