Chapter 16 Turning Tides
Eren's POV:
With my duplicated self in the cell, my real self is now at the Reiss Chapel. I'm not alone, there is Mikasa, Sasha, Floch, Louise, Peter, Odom, Gloria, Aya, Katrina, Adler, Clive, my Mom, Historia, and two delegates from the Stamer and Vilij Nations: Elizabeth and Taka.
"Both of our presidents want to congratulate you for the first strike of the Marley Nation. Now nobody has the power of the Titans to harm the island." Elizabeth says.
I say, "I'm honored by your words, welcome to the most dangerous island in the world. However, we are really sorry that we still can't reveal our alliance to our island just yet."
Historia nods and says, "Right now, our Premier and the military thought that Eren was imprisoned in the prison cell, his brother Zeke is under house arrest guarded by Levi and the other Scouts. However, people on the island will bow down to us instead of the military. What we need is the right moment to strike."
Taka says, "I see. And what about the 13 Titans?"
"There is still the Colossal Titan in their position. But don't worry, the power will be taken back to us, and Odom here will be the true user of the Colossal Titan." I say. "We will make sure of your safety. However, the Military might treat you as an enemy, so you better watch out."
"We will, thank you for the warning, your highness." Elizabeth says.
Mikasa's POV:
After a while, we heard about the Anti-Marleyan Volunteers being arrested. Even though I am the ruler of Hizuru, I am still a part of the Scouts. Now I'm sitting with Jean, Connie, Sasha, and Armin. Jean says, "Restraining the Volunteers, huh? I can't believe Pixis would use such strong-arm tactics..."
"We Survey Corps are on good terms with them. That's why they didn't inform us beforehand." Armin replies.
"I guess they didn't have any other choice. We still don't know exactly what Zeke is plotting. So we're in a pretty delicate situation. And Eren suddenly started getting along with Zeke's plan. Just what could Eren talk about with Zeke during their contract? Only those two know for sure."
"Guys? Did he look like Eren to you? I don't think so. That guy is not Eren. If he would pick his half-brother over us..." Connie says with slight anger.
"Then what?" I decide to question him.
"We need to be prepared to cut him down ourselves-"
"I won't let you do that." I say.
"Eh? Are you going to side with him, too? Mikasa?" Connie demands.
"So what if I am? Eren cares about us more than anyone else. I'm sure you guys are also aware of that." I try to reason, but Jean and Connie just look away. "And that's why he's more aggressive towards everyone other than us. I'm sure it's because his feelings were too strong..."
"That's wrong. No matter how strong you were, the old him would always try to keep you away from the front lines. But he sent Armin to destroy the port and called you to the battlefield." Jean says.
"That must be because he trust is... In fact, he wouldn't have been able to do anything if we hadn't gone for him." Sasha says.
"Why are you helping him? It's because of him that you were shot!" Connie says.
"But he still saved me in the end!" Sasha retorts back. "Let's go, Mikasa. I'm not feeling well and I need to go back to my barrack."
I nod before giving them a glare while leaving. On our way, Sasha says, "I can see why Eren starts to drift away from them."
I sigh, "All this time, he still wants me to keep me away from the front lines. I was the one who want to help him, that's why I was called to the battlefield. And for Armin to destroy the port, that was the only thing that we wanted to do."
After a few days, Historia asks Flcoh and Louise to bring some people to leak information about Eren being detained, and both Sasha and I are acting as spies in the Survey Corps.
"You're the ones who leaked info about Eren. Holger, Wim, Louise... You three recruits and Floch. Why did you do it?"
Floch says, "Because Eren should be freed, he hasn't done anything wrong. We've faced countless colossal enemies and grasped victory. Victory in the form of the Rumbling, which secures our right to live. Eren saved the lives of everyone in the New Eldian Empire."
"There's no guarantee the Rumbling works as planned and can save us. At this point, it's no more than a myth." Hange says.
"And that's why all of you are naive." Just then, Eren shows up in front of Commander Hange, and everyone gasps in shock. "Eren? What... how..."
I say, "Maybe I should have mentioned one of the 13 Titans, the Deceiver Titan. Deceiver Titan has the ability to create a duplicate. I am still in the prison, but at the same time, I'm here. Now it's showtime."
(Gloria's POV)
I am leading the Yeagerist Army along with Elizabeth, Taka, Peter, Katrina, and Alder as we surrounded the capital Miltras. We have the weapons ready as we create a large sound. This causes everyone to come outside. That also includes Zachary and all of the Military Police.
"What is the meaning of this?" Zachary demands, and I step forward and say, "Arresting the Anti-Marleyan Volunteers and trying to take Eren Yeager's powers by having him devoured by your Titan, I must say that all of you are very clever, however. Under Queen Historia's order, all of you are under arrest."
The soldiers are trying to fight back, but all four of us transform into our Titan forms, and the army from two nations ready their weapons. The leader named Nile says, "What is the meaning of this?"
"Four Titan Shifters along with soldiers with different uniforms and weapons?" An MP says in shock. I smirk as we begin the war.
(Aya's POV)
I am leading the second Yeagerist army along with Ms. Yeager, Clive, Odom, and Hideyoshi. We surround the Garrison HQ. Pyxis seems to be waiting for us and he says, "What's going on here?"
"Commander Pyxis, as orders from the queen, you are under arrest for arresting the Anti-Marleyan Volunteers and wrongfully detaining Eren Yeager." I say.
"And where is the proof? If you want to arrest us, shouldn't you have the queen's approval?" Pyxis asks.
"The approval is right here." I say. "However, we're not going to negotiate." Then we also transform into Female, Defend, and Deceiver while waiting for them to strike.
(Eren's POV)
After soldiers with new uniforms come into the room, Jean asks, "Hey! Eren! What's going on here?"
"Eldia has no need for the 3 Militaries anymore. All of you will be arrested for dooming the island." I say in a monotone tone.
"Dooming the island? What do you mean, Eren? You were the one who attacked Liberio! You were the one who put us in danger!" Connie yells back at me, I sigh and say, "The negotiation with Marley is a failure from the start, and that also includes the eight nations who're siding with Marley. Tell me, what have you done to ensure the safety of Paradis?"
"But going to war with them is not right!" Armin says.
"Armin, I'm sorry to say this, but I think it is time that you return the Colossal Titan to the real royal Family." I say.
"What do you mean real royal family-" Before Armin can finish, I use the Founding Titan's power to take the power away. I say, "In one part of History, the Great Titan War, a war that 8 families of Eldia fought together, caused the ruin of the empire. But now, by adding the four new Titan Royal Families, the new Eldia will be born, under the rule of the true royal families."
"The people won't accept this treason, Eren!" Hange tries to reason, but I say, "Didn't you just see the protests on the street about how I was wrongfully detained? Do you seriously think I am not doing anything to win the people's hearts? Having my father's memories and the power of the Founding Titan helped me save a lot of people from diseases and injuries. People won't bow down to your old regiment instead."
"You-" Just then, Hange is suddenly unconscious, and behind her, Sasha is the one with the taser. Connie asks, "Sasha?"
"This is a taser gun, it stores electricity so that we can use it to shock our enemies. The Stamer Nations are the ones who provided us these."
"Stamer Nation?" Armin asks. "That's the nation with the most technology in the world..."
I say, "I should apologize for suddenly leaving on that day with Mikasa. As the leaders of Eldia and Hizuru, we were invited by both Stamer and Vilij Nations with a peace treaty and alliance treaty."
At the same time, the other soldiers arrive in the room, Gloria says, "Primer Zachary is bombed to death, while the Military Police are all arrested."
Aya says, "The Garrison is also arrested, and we also saved the Anti-Marleyan Volunteers imprisoned by them."
"Good." I say. "Now all that's left is the Survey Corps. Adler, your cousin, and his girlfriend have also escaped the prison. They will be staying with Sasha's family before they head to Nicolo's restaurant."
"Got it. I'll be heading there." Adler says while leaving.
"Eren... so what are you going to do with us?" Jean asks with slight anger. I say, "I'll give all of you a decision. Will you join in the new Eldia nation, or will you stay with Hange, Pyxis, and the others while rotting in jail for your entire life?"
"And who are you to say this?" Connie demands. I say, "My bad, I forgot that I have never told you about this. The thing is, I not only married Mikasa, but I also married Historia. That also makes me the King of Eldia as well. Isn't that right, Mikasa?"
Mikasa nods before standing beside Eren. Jean demands. "Wait... you also married Historia? Not some farmer dude? And you didn't even invite us to the wedding?"
"I did invite a lot of people to the wedding, our people to be exact." I say.
At the same time, my other self appears in front of us, and everyone stares at it with shock, my eyes glow as the other self just disappears out of thin air. I say, "And it is thanks to my Mom, I manage to learn everything about the Deceiver Titan."
"Your mom?" Armin asks with confusion, and he gasps to see that my Mom is standing beside Clive. I say, "Learning my Mom wasn't actually killed by a Titan made me relieved. However, that's not important right now. So what do you say? Join us? Or join Pyxis and the others?"
"What will you do if we join you?" Connie asks.
"Connie, I already used my power to turn your mother back into a human. Maybe you're too busy staying here blaming me for everything that happened so far that you didn't bother to visit her?" I say, causing him to widen his eyes. "As for you, Jean. I remember that you wanted to be a part of the Military Police until Marco's death. However, I'm not going to have another Marco happen in our new Eldia."
Jean also widens his eyes, and I turn to Armin, "As for you, Armin. You're my best friend, and I don't want to kill you. However, even you should realize that peace talks aren't going to work. During the days when Mikasa and I are in Hizuru, we have been trying to negotiate with other nations. All but two refuse to side with us no matter how we threaten them with the Rumbling and everything. The World has the right to hate all of us, but now we're in an alliance with Stamer and Vilij, the four of our nations will not let them do to our people as they want to anymore."
Armin frowns, before muttering, "Is this really the choice we have?"
