Thank you guys for reading chapter 3 of Over The Hedge: A New Perspective

I know it's been a while since I post. But don't worry, I will try to post as soon as I can.

Here's chapter 4

Chapter 4

Verne realizes the dog toys are on his feet.

"Play!" Nugent started to chase Verne, grabs him, and starts playing with him. Ben and Ciara see the raccoon grabbing the doll, but the doll's pull string got caught in a small stick.

"Let's play!" the doll said. Nugent looks at the raccoon drops Verne, and starts chasing the raccoon. Ben and Ciara watched the raccoon leaped over the fence and they saw the dog jumping over the fence. Ben pulled Ciara out of the way. They stared at each other's eyes for a few seconds.

"Ben, we need to get the dog," Ciara said.

"Right sorry," Ben said.

"It's fine,"

"Alright, let's go,"

Ben and Ciara started to chase the dog, and they got caught up with the raccoon. After going through three fences that Nugent burst through, the raccoon grabbed the soda that got out of the wagon and throws it to Verne, and it hit Verne, who was holding onto the wagon in the head. By the time Nugent went through another fence, the dog went to the grill, and then the wagon got caught up with the propane tank. They went back around, and Ciara grabbed the raccoon in her arms.

"Ben, I got him," Ciara said.

"That's great," Ben said.

"Hey, wait a minute. You're the girl that told us to run the first time, are you?" the raccoon asked. Ben and Ciara looked at each other.

"Yeah, wait who are you?" Ciara asked.

"I'm RJ," the raccoon said.

"I'm Ciara Foster and this is Ben Rogers, my friend. Is he alright over there?" Ciara asked.

"I'm all right, I'm fine. It's okay. It's…" Verne said as the propane light up and the wagon started to go fast.

"I think you should help him," Ben said.

"Oh, right," RJ said.

"Okay, I'm going to put you down right now," Ciara said. She puts him down.

"Thanks, Ciara. Verne, unhook the chain," RJ said.

"You're welcome," Ciara said. The collar got off the dog and then Ben and Ciara stopped running.

"Play!" Nugent said sadly.

"Ben, I'm going to check to see where the wagon's going," Ciara said.

"Okay, you better be careful because I don't want you to get hurt. I'm going to fix the fences that Nugent went through," Ben said.

"I will, I'll talk to later tonight," Ciara said before kissing his cheek.

"Alright," Ben said smiling.

Ciara ran back into Ben's house, went out the front door, and ran back to Gladys' house to check for the wagon of food, Verne, and RJ. Gladys walked up to her car and then she saw Ciara and waved at her.

"Garbage cans are not to be on the curb before eight…" Gladys said as she opens the door of her car. Then, a can of Spuddies hit her car, Gladys and Ciara saw a falling wagon of food coming down to Gladys' car.

"Oh!" Gladys said as Ciara gasped. The two ran inside the house for safety as Gladys' car exploded.

"Aunt Gladys, I'm so, so sorry about your car," Ciara said.

"Ciara, this is not your fault," Gladys said.

"But, how are you gonna go to town if you don't have your car?"

"I'll figure it out,"

"You can always use my car, Aunt Gladys,"

"Oh, I couldn't do that to you, Ciara,"

"Aunt Gladys, its fine I'll use my car if I'm going to town but I'm not going anywhere right now so you can use it if you need to go anywhere,"

"Thank you, Ciara,"

"You're welcome, Aunt Gladys,"

Later at night, Ciara was wearing a blue t-shirt and pajama bottoms; she was finished writing and typing her story. All there's left of her story is the ending. She went to the kitchen to get a drink of water. She looked out the window and saw Dwayne and her aunt outside the backyard. What is he doing here? She thought.

"Is it done?" Gladys asked.

"Affirmative," Dwayne responded.

"And did you put this one in this Depelter Turbo [1]?" Gladys asked again.

"That's a contraband item, ma'am, as in it's illegal in every state, except Texas," Dwayne said.

"I don't care if it's against the Geneva Conventions. I want it!" Gladys said.

"I thought you might. So, I took the liberty of installing it for you. Adios, animal infestation," Dwayne said as he turns on the Depelter Turbo.

Ciara ran out of the kitchen and goes to her room in tears. As she went to her room, she sat down on her bed, and cried softly. She takes out her phone and calls Ben.

"Hello," Ben said.

"Hey, Ben," Ciara said with sadness.

"Whoa, hey, Ciara what's wrong?"

"It's bad, Ben. Aunt Gladys has traps in the backyard, including the Depelter Turbo,"

"Wait what?"

"Yeah, I'm not sure how Dwayne got it but he installed it for her. Ben, I'm so scared for RJ and the others,"

"I know, we need to do something,"

"Dwayne did tell her that the Depelter Turbo is illegal in 49 states, except for Texas. Aunt Gladys said that she doesn't care if it's against the law,"

"Ciara, I'm so sorry,"

"She's taking it way too far; she only cares about property values. Anyway, I got to go; I need to head to bed soon. I'll see you tomorrow," Ciara said.

"See you tomorrow, Ciara," Ben said as Ciara hangs up the phone.
