I apologize for the delay for this chapter. I had gotten sick and had been in a slump as for as writing goes. If things go as planned, the next chapter will be posted on Feb. 26. Also, I do have plans on editing the previous chapters, if I have already mentioned that before then I'm sorry for saying it again. Lastly, if you have an idea of a story you want to write but are afraid it may seem cheesy or lame to others, go write that story! If you have one person that loves it then that's all that matters. Anyways, I will shut up now and hope you enjoy this chapter!

Kya's ears were ringing as she received the news. Marry? Seymour asked Yuna to marry him. They haven't even known each other long. "To bring peace to Spira, that is what we want, yes?" Seymour interrupts Kya's train of thought with a smile but to Kya, it felt forced and fake. She sensed something much darker was behind his reasoning for marrying Yuna other than to bring peace to the people of Spira. It felt as if Kya couldn't longer trust the person who found her on the streets of Bevelle as a child. Kya looked at Seymour, not hiding the anger in her eyes. "Is that really the reason you asked Yuna to marry you?" Kya questioned, wanting to dig deeper into the white lies. Seymour frowned at the question when a nun walked inside the room. "My apologies, Maester Seymour." The female bowed. "Lady Yuna requests your presence." Seymour turned his attention to the nun with a nod. "Ah, yes. Lady Yuna may come and leave her belongings here." Seymour commanded as the nun did as ordered. Kya stared at him, then it dawned on her, he would go to the Clostiers of Trails with Yuna. She remained silent, lacing her fingers together on her recalling how Yuna seemed to have been troubled in Guadosalam and now Seymour drops the marriage bomb on her. Still, Kya felt uneasy like a sinking feeling in her stomach. The High Priestess could feel her anxiety slowly starting to swallow her whole.
The door nearly slammed open as Yuna stood in the doorway, surprised to see Kya but Seymour didn't give her time to respond to Kya's presence. "I will meet you at the Clostiers of Trails." Seymour gave a bow to Yuna and left the two females alone. For a minute, it felt awkward between Kya and Yuna but Kya stood up, facing Yuna. "He told me. I wish you two the best of luck with the marriage." Kya couldn't tell if she sounded sarcastic just now. Yuna shook her head and looked down. "I…I hope I can make everyone happy." She pulled out a small blue bag and laid it on the table before she left the room. Yuna lingered in the room for a moment, mumbling under her breath as she avoided eye contact with Kya.
"Yuna, if something's wrong-"
"I'm fine." Yuna quickly interrupted, her face flushed with frustration. "I should go. Good-bye." Yuna bowed and dismissed herself. Good-bye? Why did it feel like Yuna was going to go away for a long time or something? Kya questioned mentally when she heard a soft thud on the floor. Something had fallen out of Yuna's pouch. The nun seemed to have noticed as well when she reached to pick it up. The blue sphere began to play a holograph of Seymour's father, Lord Jyscal. "Why does Lady Yuna have such a thing?" The nun questioned worriedly, Kya shushed her as she took the sphere into her own hands and listened. "What I am about to tell you is the unclouded truth. I swear it on my honor as a Guado." The hologram of Jyscal began. Kya couldn't believe her eyes. Is this what Yuna was hiding? Yuna knew? "Listen to me very carefully, for I shall tell you the truth about my son, Seymour. His mind is closed even to me, a maester of Yevon. But I can feel flames of darkness burning in his heart. He is using Yevon, the Guado, and even the summoners. If he is not stopped, he will surely bring destruction and chaos to Spira. I will leave this world soon, killed by my own son. But I do not fault him. Because I was not wise enough, he has suffered, and become twisted. I could not protect him and his mother from the world and its cruelty. I will accept death as punishment for my deeds. But whoever is watching this… I implore you to stop Seymour! Stop my son." Jyscal pleaded.
The hologram turned off suddenly, leaving Kya and the nun speechless and shocked. Seymour murdered Jyscal. The man who agreed to take her, a lost child, under his wings. Surely, he wasn't the best father figure but he kept her safe and fed throughout the years. Yuna. Yuna was alone with Seymour. "I need to stop her." Kya gasped. The nun had already run outside the room and soon, familiar faces stormed into the room. "The sphere." Auron commended. Kya tossed it to Auron and started to leave when she was stopped. "Wait, you know something don't you?" The boy in strange clothes assumed. "Shut up and watch the sphere." Kya snapped, she was worried about Yuna's safety and left before anyone else could get a chance to stop her. Kya headed towards the stairway when an older Guado stepped in front of her. Tromell. "I am sorry Lady Kya but you can not interfere." He bowed, and Kya quickly realized that he wasn't going to let her through. "Please move. He killed his own father and Yuna is alone with him!" She pushed passed him when she felt his grip snatching her wrist. "I am afraid I can not let you pass. Leave the Guado problems to the Guado." Tromell tightened the grip even more when she felt something start to weigh her body down. A sleeping spell. "How-how could you?" Those were the last words Kya managed to speak before everything slowly faded into darkness.
Gentle raindrops echoed through the darkness. A light appeared, revealing a small child with blonde hair and dark eyes. The child began to run, water splashing beneath her bare feet. As she ran, she began to grow and so did the water underneath her feet. The water soon began to engulf her like an ocean tidal wave pulling her in. The ocean starts to fill the helpless girl's lungs as she struggled to breathe and swim to the surface but the more she fought, the more she began to drown. The girl started to lose the will to fight for her own life until her body went lifeless.
Floating.
Lifeless.
Kya gasped as her eyes opened, her vision still blurry as she tried to breathe. The dream felt real. Her body thrashed for a moment until she fell onto the floor from a bed. Taking a moment to calm herself, she stared around the unfamiliar room she was in. She realized that her clothes had been changed into a white gown. Where was she? How long was she out? Kya knew she was no longer at the temple anymore. Sitting on the floor with her back against the bed, she stared into space. The room was furnished with a canopy bed with transparent white curtains and the bedding was dark green and white bedsheets. The window curtains were also white. It wasn't a small room but to Kya, it felt like there wasn't enough room to breathe. Standing up, she walked over to the window and saw the familiar city she haven't seen since she left as a child. Bevelle. Kya heard a click coming from the door when the doorknob began to turn. Did they lock me inside this room? Kya wondered when she frowned, squeezing her hands into balled fists. Seymour stood in the doorway, dressed in formal attire. "You're awake," Seymour says with a smirk, allowing himself inside the room. "I apologize for Tromell. It does not give him the right to put a spell on you like that. However, it was out of precaution. He had known you seen the sphere of my father." Seymour spoke smoothly. It was as if he was a snake, graceful yet dangerous. Kya hated this about him. For a few years, she had known something was off but she couldn't figure out exactly why. Now she knew.
"You killed your own father and you expect me to be fine with it? I don't understand you!" Kya shouted then waved her hand to summon a spell but nothing happened. "I'm sorry but I asked that they would remove your magic power for the time begin until I see that you can be trusted," Seymour says, stepping closer to Kya. She felt her body freeze when he started to stroke her hand gently. His icy blue eyes were staring into hers as if staring deep into her soul. "Kya, remember when I said I wanted to speak with you?" The groom recalled. "I wanted to ask you something but you never returned home on time. When Yuna had visited, I figured I'd ask her instead." Seymour started to brush his slender fingers up toward Kya's shoulder, causing her to shiver. "What did you want to ask me that you couldn't have asked sooner?" Kya tried to hide her fear in her shaky voice. She wanted to break away from Seymour but she knew in this case, she was helpless. Seymour leaned in, his warm breath on her neck when he whispered into her ear. "I want you to marry me. I still do." Seymour softly kissed her neck.
Kya felt nausea and she wanted to cry instead she thought of Kalani. For some reason, he crossed her mind in this time of help. The helpless woman looked at Seymour, swallowing back her cries. "Why me?" Not wanting to fight Seymour, she was afraid of him. Afraid if she provoked him, he will murder her as he did his father. "Because you have the power. You are a High Priestess after all. You have chosen not to reveal your true strength." Seymour stepped away now, walking towards the door.
"Now, if you excuse me," Seymour looks back over his shoulder. "I have a wedding to attend, and I do not want to keep my bride, Yuna, waiting much longer." Seymour shut the door behind him and Kya screamed, pulling and turning the doorknob but it didn't budge. "Damn you!" Kya screamed. All this time, the person she thought she could trust was her worst enemy. Tromell even knew that Seymour murdered his father yet acted so clueless about it for so long. Falling onto her knees, Kya allowed herself to scream louder until soon the screams turned into cries of help and anger. She was angry at herself for being so naive. Angry at herself for not seeing the signs soon. She hated herself even more for not trusting the gut feeling she had for so long whenever she was around Seymour. It would seem that the entire group of Yevon was terrific actors. And Kya was part of their play.
