A few days have passed since the Sasuke incident. Naruto refused to leave the bed he now shared with Kyuubi. He skipped out on training and they'd be lucky if the blonde ate more than a couple of bites of food.
Kyuubi reported back to him after the days of training, how Sasuke was reserved, not speaking unless spoken to and only if it was related to training. As soon as training was over, Sasuke would run back to the castle, hanging out with Sakura.
Naruto felt himself feel more and more hopeless. Truly believing Sasuke did not love him. At night, instead of falling asleep, he'd stay up crying to himself, Kyuubi eventually having to wake up and comfort the blonde until he would fall asleep.
Iruka and Kyuubi became more and more concerned for the blonde. Itachi was also stuck between helping his brother and comforting Kyuubi.
Iruka woke up Naruto Friday morning, urging the blonde to get up. "Come on, Naruto," he tried to pry Naruto out of the sleeping Kyuubi's arms. "We need to go back to the doctor's and get your results."
Naruto resisted, snuggling further against Kyuubi's chest and groaning. "No." He whined, shaking his arm out of the brunette's grasp.
"Naruto," Iruka's tone turned more serious. He gave the blonde a stern look but his eyes softened as Naruto stared back, his normally bright blue eyes a now dull grey. "What if the results you get are going to be exactly what Sasuke needs to hear to bring him back to you?"
Naruto perked up at Iruka's words and with a little reluctance, he got up from the bed and held onto Iruka's hand. Iruka smiled down at Naruto and led him out of the bedroom.
Kyuubi awoke with a yawn, stretching his arms. He opened his eyes to see the other side of the bed empty. He was confused as to where Naruto could be until he remembered that Iruka told him that he would be taking Naruto back into the village to see the doctor and get his results. He let out a small sigh, happy to know that his little brother was able to get out of bed unlike the past few days.
He began to get ready for the day and then headed out to the garden towards the gazebo. He usually met Itachi there on days when there was no training. He reached the gazebo and saw that Itachi hadn't arrived yet. He was about to sit down on one of the benches when he heard his name being called out.
Kyuubi turned, confused as to who was calling him, only for his eyes to widen in shock at who he saw.
Fugaku was hurriedly making his way towards the red-head. His hair was standing on end in all different directions. His clothes looked disheveled and his eyes were sunken in as if he hadn't slept in days.
As the older Uchiha approached, he noticed a sinister look in his eyes, directed right at him. Kyuubi nervously glanced around, looking for an escape. Fugaku reached the entrance of the gazebo and Kyuubi felt a wave of unease wash over him as he blocked his only way out.
"I know your secret." Fugaku rasped out, his voice sounding hoarse.
"I'll just make my leave." Kyuubi commented nervously. He bowed to Fugaku before walking towards him, trying to walk past him.
"I don't think so." Fugaku activated his sharingan, locking eyes directly with Kyuubi.
Kyuubi felt his body freeze despite him trying to move and soon he was feeling nauseous and dizzy. He scrunched his face in confusion before he fell to his knees and threw up by Fugaku's feet.
Fugaku let out a boisterous laugh as he side-stepped away from where Kyuubi just vomited. "I'm surprised that even worked!" His tone was braggy. "For a Nine-Tails, you're pretty damn weak."
Kyuubi tried his best to glare at the king, but the nausea was still going strong. Mentally though, he had to agree with Fugaku. He was surprised that that level of sharingan even had an effect on him. He could barely move without his body feeling like it was screaming in pain and wanting to heave his guts out. He let out a groan of pain.
Fugaku pushed the red-head with his foot before deactivating his sharingan. "I know that the three of you are demons. I've spent the last three days in my study, reading book upon book to try and figure out what the deal was between you three. And then I found it, the Nine-Tails lineage tree."
Kyuubi struggled to get up on his knees while Fugaku began to ramble. But he didn't make it too far when Fugaku used his foot to once again push him down.
"Lo and behold, I found Minato. Uzumaki Minato."
Kyuubi stilled at the name, eyes wide.
"Now, what a shock it is for me to find out that two of the three strangers have that same last name."
Kyuubi tried but failed to transform into his fox form, still feeling weak.
Fugaku once again laughed. "Yes, struggle demon. You demons sneaking in here and trying to turn my sons against me, ultimately sealed your fates." He chuckled. "I'll be having you and that blonde bed slave killed, ending your demon line once and for all." He began to laugh maniacally.
Kyuubi quickly tried to scramble away but Fugaku once again activated his sharingan, causing the red-head to freeze. "Actually," he smirked at him viciously. "I think I'll kill you myself right now." He began to laugh again at the frightened look that appeared on Kyuubi's face.
With a sinister smirk, Fugaku pulled out a dagger from inside his robe. The blade shined briefly in the sunlight as Fugaku got closer. Kyuubi could only watch in terror, still under the influence of Fugaku's sharingan.
Fugaku was able to bring the blade to Kyuubi's neck before a voice called out to him. The older Uchiha looked up, blade still against the red-head's neck, to see Itachi quickly approaching. "Stop, Father."
As Itachi got closer, he spotted the knife against Kyuubi's neck and his eyes widened briefly. He didn't think his father actually had a weapon, but now he slowed his movements, approaching cautiously so as to not spook his father.
"Itachi," Fugaku drawled out his son's name before letting out a laugh. "Can you believe it? I have Kyuubi completely under my control." He smirked sinisterly. "Isn't that just great?"
Itachi took another few steps closer. "Just let him go, Father, and everything will be okay."
"Did you know," Fugaku began to sputter, his tone becoming accusatory. "That Kyuubi, Iruka and Naruto have been lying to us this whole time. They're all demons and they've been plotting to take over the throne. They've been seducing you with their magic, getting you to trust them so they can just turn around and stab us in the back."
Itachi paused, mentally rolling his eyes. "Now I know where Sasuke gets all his crazy ideas from." He muttered to himself. He shook his head from his thoughts and focused back on his Father. "I knew from the beginning they were demons."
Fugaku stared at his son in shock.
"I even knew that I'd end up being with a demon."
"What do you mean? How would you know something like that?" Fugaku narrowed his eyes in suspicion.
"All those years ago, on the battlefield with Minato and Kushina," at the names, Kyuubi's eyes widened and he gave his full attention to Itachi, grimacing at the pain of still being under Fugaku's control. "Just as I struck them down, they smiled at me. I was confused and then, they welcomed me to the family."
Kyuubi let out a gasp as Fugaku's face showed a mix of shock, confusion and fear.
"From that moment on," Itachi continued. "I knew I was meant to do something about the war between demons and humans. It was only destiny that Kyuubi and I are supposed to be together."
Kyuubi felt himself swoon at the raven's words.
Fugaku let out an audible growl. He glared viciously at his son and pressed the knife harder against the red-head's neck. "You're a traitor!" He spat out. "You've been one from the get-go!" He smirked once again, an even more sinister look in his eye. "Once this demon dies, the curse on this family will be dispelled and I'll have the real Itachi back!"
Itachi glared at his father. "I can assure certain death if you even attempt to try." He activated his own sharingan in warning, Fugaku's eyes widened.
"Itachi, stop." Both Fugaku and Itachi turned to see Sasuke walking towards them. He stopped just at the entrance of the gazebo, close to Itachi. "Remember your promise to me the other day? How you'd be on my side no matter what I choose."
Kyuubi made a choking noise, beginning to squirm as best as he could in Fugaku's arms. He glared at Iachi. "I told you so!" He shouted, feeling angry at the older raven. "I told you!"
Itachi deactivated his sharingan and relaxed his stance.
Fugaku smirked as Itachi submitted. "That's my boy, Sasuke. At least one of my sons are in their right mind. Itachi, you are so blinded by the demon's spells."
Sasuke gave a nod. "That's exactly what I've been saying."
Itachi gave his brother a disappointed look, shaking his head. "What about Naruto?"
At the mention of the blonde, Sasuke stiffened and looked away from Itachi, unable to look him in the eye. He crossed his arms over his chest. "What about him?" He mumbled.
"These past few days, since you stopped seeing him, he's been devastated. He's been unable to get out of bed because he truly believes that you don't love him."
"I don't know if I'm in love with him!" Sasuke shouted.
"Stop this nonsense, Itachi." Fugaku sneered at him. "Why on earth would someone as prestigious and royal as Sasuke would ever be in love with something as vile and disgusting as a demon!"
Itachi ignored his father, keeping his focus on his little brother. "And tell me, Sasuke, how has your sleep been without him? It seems pretty obvious to me you haven't been sleeping with those dark circles under your eyes. And I bet your days have been a lot duller without him around."
Sasuke frowned, pressing his fingers just under his eyes and he carefully took in his brother's words.
Fugaku let out a huff. "Sasuke, don't listen to Itachi, choosing Sakura and having those demons leave forever is what's best for you. Your life will return to normal, and be filled with power and riches."
Sasuke looked at his father with uncertainty.
Fugaku scowled. "Don't be so foolish, falling into the demon's trap. This is exactly what they want, to have control over the most powerful humans, it guarantees their win. And once they win, they'll have us all executed."
"Sasuke, please," Kyuubi began to plead, fighting the nausea. "Don't listen to him! You know us better than that. You know that's not true!"
Sasuke was silent for a moment before dropping his head. "I just don't believe you." He turned to face Itachi. "I'm sorry."
Itachi stayed silent as Fugaku began to laugh mancially.
"Don't worry, Itachi." Fugaku smirked sinisterly at his eldest son. "Everything will be all over soon."
"Itachi, please help!" Kyuubi screamed out as Fugaku yanked him up to his feet.
Sasuke watched his brother who stood rigid and stone-faced besides the tears that were trailing down pale cheeks. He frowned as he could hear his name being called out from a distance.
Fugaku also paused, he looked up from focusing on Kyuubi only to glare in the direction behind Sasuke.
Both Sasuke and Itachi turned to see Naruto running towards them.
Naruto stopped in front of the entrance of the gazebo, stopping to catch his breath.
Sasuke's eyes widened as he took in the blonde's appearance. He hasn't seen him since that night he told him they should sleep separately.
Naruto stood up straighter and Sasuke saw how tired he looked, the dark circles under his eyes were accentuated by how pale he looked. His eyes, instead of a bright cerulean, were a dim grey-blue. A wave of guilt washed over him as he remembered Itachi's words about how Naruto was affected.
The blonde paused and raised an eyebrow as he looked at the situation at hand. He turned to look back at Sasuke. "Sasuke, what's going on?"
Fugaku snickered at the blonde. He let go of the red-head to approach Naruto. "Sasuke has chosen to be done with you." A smirk began to slowly grow on his face. "The Uchiha legacy will continue on with Sakura."
Naruto is shocked by Fugaku's words and looked at Itachi and Kyuubi who still had tears running down their face. He turned to look back at Sasuke. "Is that true?"
Sasuke stayed silent, looking anywhere but at Naruto.
Naruto frowned at the lack of a response and felt himself begin to tear up. "You know, I went to the doctors that last time we saw each other."
Sasuke froze before quickly turning to face the blonde and looking him up and down. "Are you okay?" Concern shone through his tone.
Naruto smiled sadly and ignored Sasuke's question. "Well, I got my results today." He paused before letting out a shaky breath. "I'm pregnant."
Sasuke is shocked by Naruto's words, only able to be silent.
"What?!" Fugaku bellowed. He began to fume. "Don't worry, we'll have him executed immediately. No Uchiha blood will be tainted with demon blood. You'll soon be free of a life without this filth once again."
At the mention of life without Naruto, Sasuke once again froze. A fanatasy of their future lives together, their child present, flashed through Sasuke's mind and he smiled to himself at how perfect their child would be and how happy Naruto looked and warmth spread through him at the thought of having the two of them as his family. He looked down at the ground and let out a long sigh.
"Please Sasuke," Naruto began to beg. "Please choose the right side, I love you so much."
Fugaku let out a scoff at Naruto's words. "How pathetic." He walked back over to Kyuubi, pulling him back towards him. "Let me get back to what I was doing."
In an instant, Sasuke was between his father and Kyuubi. His eyes set on his father in a glare and Fugaku's eyes widened at Sasuke's sharingan. "Amaterasu?"
Sasuke's eyes narrowed further as he stepped closer to his father, causing him to back up and putting more space in between him and Kyuubi. "You will never speak so lowly of Naruto again." He turned to face the blonde, giving him an apologetic look. "I'm so sorry for taking so long to make the right choice."
Naruto smiled in relief. "I'm just glad you made the right choice."
Itachi quickly runs to Kyuubi, holding the red-head in his arms. "I trusted Sasuke would make the right choice eventually." He gently ran his fingers through his hair before placing a kiss on top of Kyuubi's head.
"You're all traitors!" Fugaku seethed. "Choosing to mate with such demon filth! Disgusting! How can you even call yourselves Uchiha's!"
Sasuke turned back to Fugaku, his sharingan reactivated. "Itachi, go get some guards to have him locked up."
"Way ahead of you." Itachi looked up in surprise to see Kakashi walk up to them, a group of guards rushing ahead and gathering around Fugaku. They began to put shackles on the angry man.
Kakashi walked up behind Sasuke, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I'm proud of you, Sasuke. And you finally got your Amaterasu sharingan."
Iruka appeared, running towards both Kyuubi and Naruto, gathering them in his arms. "I'm just so happy that everything worked out."
"Me too Iruka." Itachi smiled as Kakashi and Sasuke joined in the group hug. He watched as the guards began to bring his father to the castle. He smiled wider and joined in the hug as well. "Me too."
