Aristocratic Assassin, Sesshomaru

The sun's rays were beaming across the tree as the wind was flowing by as the sky was partly cloudy, as the Well was in the middle of an open field that had not be used for decades.

Then a pink bicycle came out of the Well and two girls were crawling out of it, however they were from another Era. Both of them pulled out the bicycle due to balance on the edge of the Well.

"Huh… Made it." Kagome said wearing a dark blue long sleeve shirt with a light blue skirt and a pink backpack.

"I still don't understand why you brought this bike with you." Mai said, wearing long black fingerless ring style gloves, light blue Hakama pants, using her Fire Rat robe as a long coat, a blue and black scarf with a white kimono top.

"Well it is easier to travel instead of walking all the time." Kagome replied.

"I don't know...bringing something from the future to this Era could bring large consequences on the universe or even mess the future since this is the past." Mai said as they went over to Kaede's village that were full of intricate rice patty farms.

Kagome was lost in her thought with a lost look in her face as she and Mai fast walked beside her, heading to the village.

"Kagome? Are you alright?" Mai asked concerned about her as she hadn't said anything in the past few minutes.

"Yeah..I'm okay." Kagome answered.

"It's about Inuyasha...Isn't it?" Mai asked.

"No...Well...it kind of is..." Kagome said.

They made it pass the water flowed rice farms in fluid motion, heading right into the village

"He's rude, he's crude and says he hates me. But… if we can find the Jewel, that's all that matters, right?" Kagome said as she was pedaling.

"I keep telling you, Kagome. He doesn't hate you. I realized in my dreams he's been through a lot. He needs to learn to trust and let go of things that are in the past." Mai said, keeping up with Kagome on her bike.

Kagome rang the bike bell and then she felt that she ran over something mildly big on the tire of the bike, Mai heard a grunt but choose to ignore it.

"Hmm, felt like I ran over something. Must of imagined it." Kagome said as she continued biking heading straight to the village. Most of the village has been rebuild from the Mistress Centipede incident.

Inuyasha was laying on a large branch in a tall tree as Mai and Kagome went to him. He look and saw Kagome holding something in her hand as she explained what it was.

"First aid treatment? I don't need it. Go away!" Inuyasha said, turning away from them.

"You do too. I was there! Remember? Come down here!" Kagome protested as she stomped her foot, not realizing her mistake as Mai fell on her back as the incantation of her necklace activated.

"Mai...are you..." Kagome said in concern.

"Next time, be careful with your words." Mai said as she turned to Inuyasha. "Do what Kagome says and let's get this over with!"

"Nothing doing!" Inuyasha said in defiance.

"I said, come here!" Kagome said as she warned him.

Inuyasha chehed in a huff as he was up in the tree and Kagome was on the ground.

"Sit boy!" Kagome said as Inuyasha's necklace dragged him out of the tree and into the ground face first.

"What did you do that for?!" Inuyasha asked in irritation.

"You're the one who asked for it." Mai said as she rolled her eyes as Kagome knelt down to Inuyasha with her aidkit in her hand.

"I'll just take a look, ok? When you're hurt that bad, you need to have medical treatment, you know?" Kagome said.

"I said, go away! You act like I'm the one who lost!" Inuyasha said.

"Well...it seems like it apparently," Mai muttered.

Kagome straddled Inuyasha so he wouldn't escape, trying to get him to take his top off.

"I said, take it off!" Kagome said.

"What if I don't feel like it?!" Inuyasha asked.

"Undress!" Kagome shouted

"I would listen to her if I were you Inuyasha, trust me, once something sets on Kagome's mind...she is determined to get it done." Mai said.

Kaede went to visit Kagome, Mai, and Inuyasha and see how they were doing as a group of children followed her. Kaede saw what Kagome was doing to Inuyasha and interpeded into something else then what it actually was.

"Avert ye eyes!" Kaede said.

Kagome and Inuyasha looked up from their confrontation and saw that Kaede with a children looking at them.

"Mayhap ye like each other more than I first thought." Kaede said as Kagome and Inuyasha looked at each other for a second and realized what she was implying.

Mai snickered as Kagome and Inuyasha put two and two together. They freaked out for a minute and Inuyasha got up which made Kagome fall on the ground.

"Hey!" Kagome cried out.

Inuyasha looked at her for a moment as he loosened his top kimono shirt.

"I would of thought that you had figured out by now that my body's different!" Inuyasha said, exposing his chest showing that he has no wounds.

"It's already gone!" Kagome gasped in amazement.

"I wonder if…" Mai looked at her arm when she tried to get blood for her attack, but it looked like it never existed.

"For so great a wound to have healed so quickly and leave no scar." Kaede said.

Inuyasha was to fix up his Kimono as Kagome and Kaede looked at him.

"Look, just because it would have killed a human don't make it a big deal for someone like me." Inuyasha said.

"I guess it's true. I'm really not human anymore." Mai leaned her head down in sadness.

"Well... Of course not… You're like me, not human but not demon either." Inuyasha reminded her.

'They're not all human, but not demon either. Can someone be half?' Kagome thought.

"Oww! Huh?" Inuyasha said as he looked at his chest and saw a bug biting him but the creature looked up at him and smiled at him.

A small flea demon in a green kimono top with three black line pattern with dark blue pants, partly bald with white hair on each side of his head and a needle nose. Also had two arms on each side carrying a walking stick and dull red hat while carrying a backpack.

"Greetings and salutations!" Myoga said as he was getting squashed by Inuyasha.

"Well, if it ain't Myoga the Flea!" Inuyasha said.

"Flea?" Kagome asked as she was confused.

"Don't think I'll ever seen him in my dreams." Mai said, looking at him more closely as Kagome and Inuyasha looked at him as well.

Then Inuyasha put Myoga on the ground with some force as he laid as flat as a pancake.

"So, what did you come to see me about?" Inuyasha asked as Myoga was still flat on the ground until he popped up like a balloon.

"Lord Inuyasha! I've come to-" Myoga was interrupted as he was covered in bug spray that Kagome had. "Tell… you…" he finished, before falling back on the ground.

As Kagome had stopped spraying the bug spray at him.

"What's that do?" Inuyasha asked in curiosity.

"Ahh, whoops." Kagome said.

"I hate those sprays. They risk every animal, not just the pests." Mai said with agitation.

The pillar of the village was hit with the sun rays of the late afternoon as a hut is next to the pillar with importance. Some kids were observing a pink bicycle that was parked next to the hut.

"What do you mean someone's trying to find my dad's tomb?" Inuyasha asked as Myoga was knelt on the floor.

"As guardian of his final resting place, I could bear it no longer." Myoga said.

All of them were sitting near Kaede's fire pit in the hut.

"So you took off and came here instead." Inuyasha said.

"But it's the remains that are important, and they are no longer there." Myoga said.

"Oh, so where are the remains, then?" Inuyasha asked.

"Regrettably sire, no one knows." Myoga said.

Inuyasha looked away from him as he leaned his face on his hand in boredom.

"Some guardian you are." Inuyasha said under his breath.

"Inuyasha... They say your father was a phantom beast that the Western Lands were his domain." Kaede said.

Inuyasha looked at her with his face leaning on his hand still with a bored look on his face.

"Can't say as I remember it that well." Inuyasha said.

"Your father was a demon among demons, great and powerful. His blood was especially delicious, and you, Lord Inuyasha, have inherited that from him." Myoga said.

"Is blood all you can think about? I'm sure there was more to him than what you're saying." Mai eyed him.

"Well...He was good to me and that is why I was in-service to him." Myoga said.

"That and he had tasty blood which you fed on." Mai said.

"Can we please stop talking about my old man for a second?" Inuyasha asked as he didn't want to hear it.

"Wow… and what about his mom?" Kagome asked.

Mai flinched at the mention of Inuyasha's mother as she felt the heartache and anger from Inuyasha.

"She was beauty beyond compare. A true-" Myoga said but stopped as Inuyasha squished him with his heel.

"Hey, that wasn't very nice!" Kagome said.

"Just drop it, ok?! She died a long time ago." Inuyasha said as he left Kaede's hut.

"Sorry about that. Did something I say make him upset?" Kagome asked.

"Aye, well…" Kaede said.

"I'm sorry. All I did was ask him about his mother." Kagome said.

Myoga was squashed again by Inuyasha on the floor and then popped up again as he knelt to Kagome.

"Yes. Master Inuyasha has always preferred not to speak of her." Myoga said.

"I don't blame him. It sucks to lose your mom." Mai said in an upset tone as she stood up and left as well.

Mai was outside the hut for a minute as she was trying to clear her head, releasing the anger that was building within her. Then she started walking with no sense of direction in mind.

After five minutes, she stopped and realized that she was in front of a large tall tree, she looked up and saw that Inuyasha was laying on a thick tree branch looking up at the stars.

She felt his frustration, anger, heartache and regret. 'Why was I born a half breed? Why couldn't I be a full fledged demon?...If only I had the Sacred Jewel..I would be something...but I miss mother... so much.' He thought as Mai heard what was on his mind.

So she climbed up the tree, onto another branch next to his. She knew that he knew that she was there but didn't say anything or did anything.

They don't say anything for a few moments just looking at the stars. Then she broke the silence between them. "I...know how you feel about your mother...I understand that." Mai said.

At first he brushed it off as he huffed softly but still looked at the stars.

"Everyone kept saying she left because of me...My own mother." Mai said quietly as Inuyasha finally turned to look at her, slightly curious of what she had to say.

She started explaining what had happened to her mother that she knew of and what it was like after that. "I was bullied and shunned by people...even my own grandparents didn't want anything to do with me or my father."

She sensed in him that he felt sorry for her and in a way almost went through what he had gone through in his life. "I..I was a kid when I heard the word: Half breed as I was trying to get my ball back from mean people. I asked my mother what the word meant...She knelt down at me and cried. Later she explained to me what it meant..Half human and half demon, never one or the other..She was human and my father was a Demon. But she's gone and I can't do anything about it...So that's why I wanted the Sacred Jewel to become a full fledged demon..as a human is weak, plagued by their emotions and mortal, a demon is strong, powerful and immortal." He said to Mai.

Mai nodded in understanding of what he was saying. Being a half breed is kind of a big thing to him because there was no sense of belonging in one or the other...just an Outsider that shouldn't have existed.

"Thanks..Inuyasha." Mai said as she smiled softly.

"For what exactly?" Inuyasha asked.

"For opening up to me a little...you're not so bad after all." Mai answered.

"Well don't tell the others..or you'll regret it." He said as she nodded in understanding.

This was something just between them.

"However, like I said when we met, don't underestimate humans. They're not as weak as you think. Caring makes them stronger. And no matter how many times they fall, they always pick themselves back up again. And nothing you say can change that fact. Think about that. Also, do you remember your mother's name?" Mai said. Then she saw Kagome riding on her bike towards them and jumped down to her.

"I have to see what Kagome needs but if you need someone to talk to...you know where to find me." Mai called to Inuyasha.

"Half- Demon...I should of known." Yura said when she confronted Inuyasha as Kagome recalled the battle with her.

"Is that why he won't talk about it? His mom's human so he hates her?" Kagome asked herself as she remembered her mother giving her the first aid kit that she was going to use on Inuyasha.

"But that's awful, how can someone hate their own mom? Bet she really loves him." Kagome said somberly.

"You've got it all wrong. He could never hate her." Mai said softly.

"Well what do you mean by that?" Kagome asked.

"I can't tell you. You'll have to find out for yourself."

Wind started to blow even harder as the trees started to bend from the force of a hurricane. Mai felt a force, some kind of power that was a force to be reckoned with.

"Get down!" Inuyasha said as he leaped down to drive both Mai and Kagome against the ground.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome said as she groaned as she lifted her face from the ground.

"Something's coming. Can you feel it?" Inuyasha asked.

"Yeah." Mai nodded as there was something over the moon as the clouds passed as a flying carriage was revealed from the clouds.

An imp flying in the front of the carriage while carrying a flag as other imps were flying behind it as the curtain of the carriage was flowing as the wind blew.

"A carriage?" Kagome asked.

Some of the imps were clinging to the carriage as the curtain blew over the left side showing a woman in a dark pink kimono wrapped in chains.

"There's a lady riding in it." Kagome said.

Inuyasha stood up and walked forward with mild curiosity.

"Inuyasha, what's wrong?" Kagome said.

Inuyasha was in awe and shock of who he saw in the carriage as he thought he would never see them again.

"M-Mother…" Inuyasha said as he realized who it was, up in the carriage in the sky.

A woman with pale skin, light brown eyes, and waist-length black hair wearing a dark pink kimono.

"It is you. Inuyasha!" Izayoi said as the imps tightened the chains around her and she gasped in pain.

"Mother!" Inuyasha shouted.

"It can't be! Your mother's dead, you told us that yourself." Kagome said.

"That is true...Then who is this person if it's not his mother?" Mai said to herself more than the others.

"Inuyasha! Inuyasha!" Izayoi shouted as the carriage flew farther away along with the imps flying away as well.

A monstrous black hand came out of the sky reaching for the carriage, crushing it like it was a toothpick. They gasped as large red eyes glowed from the dark foggy clouds as it's face appeared with horns, pointed ears, and white hair around the horns. As the large dark demon roared in triumph, it had Izayoi in its hand with long talons ready to pierce her as she laid there limp with chains around her.

"Oh no! He's going to hurt your mom!" Kagome said.

"No, he's not!" Inuyasha said as he jumped into the air.

"Inuyasha! Don't!" Mai cried out, trying to warn him but it was too late.

A fire blast came out of nowhere as Inuyasha was surprised by this and avoided the fire. The large demon held Izayoi a little more tightly as a little imp wearing a dark brown kimono and a fin hat with a staff in it hand running down the demon arm.

Inuyasha landed down to the ground with ease. "Ya messed!"

"Jaken…" a strong masculine voice said.

"Yes, my lord?" Jaken asked.

A tall and slender man with fair skin, pointed ears, golden eyes with knee-length silver hair, a violet crescent moon on his forehead that could be seen beneath his bangs, two magenta stripes on each cheek. Wearing a white kimono with red patterns on the shoulders and cuffs with a sash with yellow and blue patterns on it. On his right shoulder draping his mokomoko.

"Once we're through, I want him dead." The voice said.

"Y-Yes, my lord!" Jaken said in fear of what may happen if he failed.

"It is you. Sesshomaru!" Inuyasha shouted in anger.

"Indeed. I've quite missed you as well. Little Brother." Sesshomaru said with a small smile on his face.

"He called you his brother. Does that mean he-" Kagome said.

Sesshomaru glared down at them in observation.

"A mortal, and another half-demon. How interesting." Sesshomaru said as he observed the group.

"Yeah. What of it?" Kagome said in a huff.

"Others would be shamed, but with you little brother, the girl quite suits you." Sesshomaru said in slight amusement.

Izayoi was still trapped in the demon's hand with her eyes still closed while the chains wrapped around her and her neck. Then the chain tightened around her neck and lifted her head up.

"These human creatures. I should think you've had enough of them. Or is it a taste from father?" Sesshomaru said.

Inuyasha sneered in fury at his brother's words and saw his mother go limp.

"What's it to you?" Mai asked.

'So his mother is human, then!' Kagome thought.

"That's not all, is it?! You couldn't have come all this way just to tell me that!" Inuyasha said.

"Be not a fool. I have no such time to waste. The tomb of our father, Where must I seek it?" Sesshomaru asked.

"Our father's tomb? Why ask me?!" Inuyasha asked in irritation.

"'Seeing yet never seen. Protected yet never known to its protector.' No other clues are known." Sesshomaru said.

"I've got no idea what you're talking about! Besides, even if I did, there's no way I'd tell you!" Inuyasha said.

"I see. Then you leave me no choice but to let your mother's suffering convince you." Sesshomaru said.

Sesshomaru was on the large demon's left shoulder as he whipped it on it's head, and the demon flinched as it roared in pain. The demon's hand held Izayoi tightened and she seemed to be in pain from being squished.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome gasped in fear

"Nice try, jerk! She's been dead for years and we both know it! Like I'd really fall for a stupid trick like that!" Inuyasha said.

"A trick is it?" Sesshomaru asked.

"You're who's stupid. Recalling spirits from the netherworld is a simple task if you are Lord Sesshomaru. He was even so kind as to give her flesh. And yet her own son would deny it. How sad to be mother to one such as you!" Jaken said.

Izayoi opened her eyes as the imp were around her holding the chains, she saw Inuyasha as she reached out to him.

"Inuyasha!" Izayoi shouted.

Inuyasha stiffened as he heard her voice and there was no doubt about it...it was her mother.

'Then maybe it is true!' Inuyasha thought.

"Why do you have her?...What is she to you...if you don't like humans?" Mai asked.

"Because she is something I need." Sesshomaru answered.

"I have come back, Inuyasha. Back from the world of the dead." Izayoi said as she started fainting.

"Stop hurting her!" Inuyasha shouted.

"Inuyasha, no!" Mai warned.

"Iron Reaver Soul Stealer!" Inuyasha shouted his attack.

Inuyasha sliced the demon's hand from the wrist as the demon roared in pain as it started waving its arm. Izayoi bounced once, twice as the hand released her onto the ground, and she rolled as the imps ran away. Kagome ran up to Izayoi, making sure she was alright.

"Oh no! Are you ok?!" Kagome asked in concern of Izayoi.

"Kagome, Mai, you and her get out of here!" Inuyasha said he went to Kagome and Izayoi.

"I think not. And you, worthless!" Sesshomaru said as he whipped the demon in the face to right shoulder.

The demon roared again as it tried to reach for Izayoi as Kagome was with her.

"Mother!" Inuyasha shouted to her.

Izayoi gasped in concern for her son. "Inuyasha!"

Inuyasha was shocked as the demon went after them, he went towards them to use his body as a shield to protect them.

Kagome sat there in fear as Izayoi put her hands together forming a glowing ball of light and reached out to him. The glowing ball got bigger and formed around them as they disappeared.

Mai woke up lying on her side seeing cherry trees in bloom with a pink atmosphere with a blue pond and a gazebo at the end of it. Kagome and Inuyasha were across the pond, while Mai was lying alongside Kagome.

Inuyasha woke up unsure where he was and the place seemed surreal.

"This place. Where is it?" He asked.

"At the border of the spirit world. I must now be crossing over it very soon." Izayoi said.

Inuyasha was in a crouching position as he looked to his mother who looked healthy and lively.

"Crossing over? Oh yeah… right. It happened so long I keep forgetting you're dead." Inuyasha said as they walked together for a while.

"Inuyasha. You… have become a man, haven't you?" Izayoi asked.

"Well yeah. I mean, when you died I guess I was just still just a kid, right?"

"Such terrible, violent days. And you all alone, with no one to care for you. How can you ever forgive me?" Izayoi asked.

"It weren't that big of deal. I mean…" Inuyasha said in a soft voice.

Izayoi smiled softly at Inuyasha. "Inuyasha…" she said fondly like a mother should.

He looked away from his mother in shame but then looked back at her with astonishment and a wondering look in his eyes.

Mai tried to move, but couldn't as her body didn't respond to her.

'Why can't I get up? And why can't I move my arms and legs?' Mai thought as she looked at the water's reflection and saw that Izayoi had no face.

'There's no face! Then that means this isn't Inuyasha's mother!' Mai thought.

Mai tried to call out but nothing came out. 'It can't be! My voice is gone?!'

"Mother…" Inuyasha said.

"Partings are never easy, don't you agree?" Izayoi asked.

"I…" Inuyasha said softly.

Mai sensed that Kagome woke up, and like her, couldn't move or speak as well.

'This is really bad! Inuyasha can't see she doesn't have a face, and me and Kagome are stuck here, mute! I don't know who this woman is, but she's not his mom!' Mai thought in realization.
