Amelia belongs to Jeabird, and I thank her for helping me with this story.

All over the town people were getting strange messages on their cellphones. Takuya being a gogglehead followed the directions and ended up following this other kid Koji after running into Meredith, another gogglehead. He ended up with J.P., Zoe, Tommy, and Meredith on a train to the Digital World while Koji ended up a train to the Digital World with Amelia. Tommy wanted to go home, but he picked a really stupid way to do it. Takuya tried to rescue him and things got out of control. Bokomon and Neemon were running away from Cerberumon – a Digimon trying to destroy something called a spirit. Long story short Takuya merged with the Ancient Spirit of Flame and turned into Agunimon. Not bad for a gogglehead! Not to mention Meredith merged with the Ancient Spirit of Water and turned into Sakanamon.

"What just happened to me?" asked Takuya.

"You mean before or after you turned into a digimon?" asked Zoe.

"Me? A Digimon?"

"Yes, through the process digivolution!" stated the white digimon.

"Digi-what? It had to be something I pressed…." Takuya took out his D-tector and started pressing random buttons. "Come on, digivolution start! Operation! Turn me into a Digimon! Execute!"

"Fractal code rendered."

"Oh boy, I think I broke it!" Takuya stared at his D-Tector not knowing what to expect.

"I knew it, it's the fractal code!" As the white Digimon stated that something came out of Takuya's D-Tector and started to cover places that the ground had been missing.

"There's no way this is happening." J.P. spoke awestruck by what he was seeing.

"Whoa! Did I do all that?" The group of seven stared as the fractal code turned into land, restoring the pieces that had been missing.

The kids started running toward the village with all the other Digimon.

The one that had explained digivolution to them turned to Takuya and started to speak.

"Nice going my human friend! By the way, I'm Bokomon, keeper of the book, at your service!" He politely introduced himself to them.

"And I'm Neemon, keeper of my pants, also at your service you awesome human!" the rabbit one said.

"On behalf of the digital world, accept our thanks, oh human who restores what has been lost!" Bokomon exclaimed in thanks.

Takuya then replied. "Call me Takuya, and I still don't know why all this fractal code stuff is a big deal anyway."

"WHAT!? You really don't know?" Bokomon asked, clearly shocked.

"Oh, he doesn't know!" Neemon replied in a shocked tone as well.

"Hey, why are we running?" asked JP.

Bokomon grabs a book from his himaki, and began to read. "Before the evil Cherubimon came, our world was a beautiful place."

"Flowers, trees and butterflies!" chimed Neemon.

"Neemon! I'm in the middle of something here!" mumbled Bokomon.

"Sorry!"

"Anyhow!" Bokomon snapped, "His power made many Digimon go wild and our world started to die. The only way to bring back everything that was lost is with the fractal code."

"And I made it happen! With this...little device!" Takuya exclaimed after realizing what he had done and why it had been so important.

The little Digimon the kids had met earlier when they got off at the station were all jumping around them as they walked around. Meredith didn't noticed one of them was right under her feet, and because she was so tired, she wasn't paying attention to where she was going, which resulted to her falling flat on her face and being trampled by a whole bunch of Digimon.

Thankfully, Takuya noticed. "Meredith! Are you ok?" He asked as he turned her over to face him.

"No….. I'm tired, hungry, and in a lot of pain from being trampled by Digimon…." She groaned.

He laughed a little at her complaint before speaking to her with a big grin on his face.

"Come on, I'll give ya a piggyback ride." He stood up, pulling Meredith with him. He bent down a little, giving her access to climb up on his back. Without hesitation, she crawled on and wrapped her arms around his neck and her legs around his waist. He held onto her as they started to walk, Zoe wasn't too far behind them.

Meredith couldn't help enjoy the peace and quiet that was offered, along with a free piggyback ride from Takuya. She remembered when she and Takuya were little, he would give her a piggyback ride almost all the time. They were best friends, and right now… this felt right.

A loud bellowing Trailmon announced its appearance, as JP and Tommy backtracked through the village.

:Amelia:

"Hwaah! Hwaah!" Koji and Amelia both flinched at the loud noise but Amelia grabbed her head.

The train came to stop and left of some steam before the doors swung open. Neither Koji nor Amelia moved at first, they both stared at the doors. After a couple of seconds Koji was up and getting off the train but Amelia waited for a couple of seconds before sighing and getting off of the train as well.

"- commence your search." Amelia only caught the tail end of whatever the voice from the D-Tector said before her own beeped.

"Neo Chasen, time to find your path forward." Amelia glared at her D-Tector.

"Search? For what?" Koji asked that while Amelia clicked her tongue.

"My name's Amelia." She growled the words out slightly, Koji glanced at her.

"The Spirit." Koji looked back to his D-Tector.

"How do you know my name? Hmm?" Koji and Amelia both asked the question, nearly at the same time.

"Find the spirit and you will find answers to all the questions you have." Koji was the only one who got a reply which caused Amelia to shoot a glare at Koji's back before shifting the glare to her D-Tector that didn't offer any kind of answer.

"I'm not some kind of lapdog that will take orders. What is this 'spirit' anyways? How do I even find it?" Not even seconds later a globe appeared being projected from the screen of his D- Tector.

"Oh." Amelia inched forward to see what had appeared, staring at the globe.

"What's this?" Amelia sighed and shook her head.

"It's a map, not a detailed one but a map none the less." Koji shot her a look before sighing.

"This gets weirder by the minute."

"Hah! You said it!" Amelia looked at the train.

"Says the talking train." She muttered it under her breath but from the slight uplift of Koji's lips which went unnoticed told that he had heard her.

Koji started to walk off, following the map. Amelia stood where she was debating if she should follow Koji, she could tell that he wasn't big on company and probably wouldn't like it if she followed him. Amelia glanced at her D-Tector, wondering if the words about finding a spirit would answer her questions as well even if that was the answer that Koji had gotten.

"You won't take me back home will you?" Amelia looked at the train but it had fallen asleep.

"Guess that's a no." She looked towards where Koji had gone, she could probably still catch up.

"Better than being alone in a place that I don't even know." Amelia took off so she could attempt to catch up to Koji.

As she ran to catch up to Koji she noticed something moving out the corner of her eye but when she looked she couldn't see anyone or anything. Giving a nervous laugh she picked up her pace, she would rather be with someone who wouldn't talk and maybe be annoyed at her presence than be alone in an unfamiliar place.

:Meredith:

Soon, they reached a small house, which turned out to be Bokomon and Neemon's. The two digimon went inside, wordlessly.

Meredith slid off of Takuya's back and went to sit down next to Zoe.

"So what was it like when you digivoled?" Zoe asked her.

"The thing is, I don't remember much. All I remember is that my body felt warm, then I felt stronger."

"You worked pretty well with Takuya to." Zoe smiled at Meredith.

"Well, I have known Takuya for years now." Meredith looked away, staring at the sky as she thought about some memories.

"So you're friends? That's nice, at least you know someone on this crazy adventure." Meredith looked back to Zoe.

"That's true." After that they sat in silence for a couple of seconds.

"Hey, do you know where Tommy went?" Meredith looked around the area when Takuya asked that.

"Ah, man! I forgot to keep an eye on him!" Meredith was up and on her feet now.

"He's with J.P., I think." Zoe tilted her head as she thought.

"Maybe they're playing hide and go seek." The three of them looked at Bokomon.

"I don't think they are." Meredith muttered the words.

"Maybe they got eaten by a bunch of big old bears!" Neemon exclaimed as Zoe crossed her arms.

"Alright, now I'm worried." Meredith and Takuya nodded.

"We'd better go look for them." Takuya said as Neemon fell out of the window.

The five of them left the village after that to look for Tommy and J.P., hoping nothing bad happened to them.

"Tommy!" Zoe called out, hoping to get some kind of response.

"Where are you!" Takuya and Zoe managed to shout that at the same time.

"J.P.!" Takuya called out.

"Hey dudes! Where are ya!?" Meredith's call got a glance that lasted a couple of seconds.

"Where could they be?" Zoe's voice gave away the worry that she had.

"Hey, Poyomon!" Bokomon called out to the Digimon that were passing by.

"Have you seen any human children?" The Poyomon that Bokomon had called out to thought.

"We saw two being chased into the forest by Pagumon! Over there!" Meredith, Takuya, and Zoe were confused while Bokomon and Neemon looked worried.

"Oh! Oh! That's worse than bears!" The three humans looked at Neemon.

"Pagumon?" Zoe asked, unsure and confused.

"Nasty little Digimon with bad attitudes." At Bokomon's words, Meredith and Takuya look at each other worried.

:Amelia:

"Who's there!?" Koji looked behind him and to his surprise, Amelia stumbled out from behind a tree.

"Ow, ow, stupid tree root." Amelia muttered as she crouched down to exam her ankle.

"Why are you following me?" Amelia looked at Koji, giving him a nervous smile.

"Well, I wasn't exactly following you but more like trying to catch up. I was hoping you'd spare a moment to talk." Amelia rubbed her ankle before standing, not leaning on the ankle she had just rubbed.

"What do you want?" Amelia scratched the back of her head.

"Well, we're both in an unknown place and as far as I know we're the only humans here. I was just thinking maybe we should stick together. Safety in numbers right?" Koji sighed and shook his head.

Koji didn't say anything before turning and walking away, continuing to follow the blinking dot on the map. Amelia sighed and crossed her arms.

"Well that was a bust, I'm not completely surprised though. I expected that kind of response though." Amelia looked around the forest, noticing some kind of structure.

"Huh. This is getting old." Amelia looked back to Koji, he was looking towards the structure she had just notice.

"It's probably safer to stay away from creepy holes in the wall." Koji glared at the hole that he could see but Amelia couldn't.

"Or to at least not to go in alone." Koji shot a look at her.

"I didn't come all this way to play it safe though." Amelia sighed at Koji's retort.

"Do you even know where you are?" Amelia's question was met with no answer besides Koji turning and heading towards the hole.

"Are you coming or not!" Amelia was surprised, she had just started to turn around when Koji shouted back at her.

"Only because it's a creepy hole in the wall." Amelia barely held a laugh in when she rushed to catch up to Koji; was someone perhaps crept out?

Koji didn't wait for Amelia to catch up but she still caught up, walking a few steps behind Koji. Koji was expecting a bunch of talking but Amelia remained silent, looking around the tunnel it seemed like they were walking through.

"This better not be someone's idea of a joke." Koji muttered the words causing Amelia to look back to Koji.

"Anyone here? OK, I suppose not." Amelia smiled slightly at Koji's question, it should've been obvious that no one was here but she bit her tongue, not saying anything.

:Meredith:

As Takuya and Meredith separated from the others, the redhead had a thought pop into her head.

"Hey, Takuya. What do you think did happen when we turned into Digimon?"

"We fought Cerberumon and won somehow, it was interesting to turn into a Digimon." Takuya looked around, seeing if he could spot anything that belonged to Tommy or J.P.

"Do you remember?" Takuya shrugged at Meredith's question.

"Not really, it's blurry but there are bits and pieces."

Then, something caught Meredith's eye. "Hey, what's that?"

"It looks like a really big egg." Meredith went towards the egg after Takuya said that.

Once by the egg, Meredith bent down and noticed that it had cracks on it. The egg was nearly completely hidden by the grass since it was tall around it. Takuya had approached as well but he noticed something else. He walked over towards what the sun had glinted off of.

"Uh Meredith-"

"Takuya, the egg's cracked, something hit it." Meredith stood up, the egg in her arms.

"What if some of those Pagumon that the Poyomon had seen hurt the egg." Meredith looked the egg over.

"I found Tommy's D-Tector." Meredith looked at Takuya, he had held up Tommy's D-Tector.

"That means they were around here!" Meredith rushed over to Takuya, egg still in her hands.

Meredith stopped beside Takuya, but yelped when the ground beneath her gave, sending her falling down the hole. Takuya tried to grab her but managed to lose his balance and he fell in to.

To their luck, they fell onto a pile of leaves.

"We're still alive." Takuya sat up and looked around while Meredith sat up a little slower, glancing at the egg she had in her hands.

"The egg has no more cracks either." Meredith smiled a bit while Takuya looked at her.

"We're alive, I could just kiss you!" Takuya stared at her wide eyed and Meredith blinked once she realized what she said.

"Ah, uh…" Takuya was at a loss for words.

"I meant I could just hug you!" Meredith gave a nervous laugh, not completely sure if that was any better.

Still she gave him a hug. Takuya was still blushing.

After a couple of moments they both got up, staring into the darkness that was ahead of them. Meredith hugged the egg just a little tighter, careful of the fact that it was cracked.

"So, you think Tommy's in there?" Meredith asked the question, her voice a little shaky.

"Yeah, you wanna go first?" Meredith gave Takuya a look.

"Haha, just kidding." He began to walk into the darkness, Meredith following him.

As they walked Meredith started to walk closer to Takuya. Despite the darkness that hung around them she felt safe around Takuya. He was letting off a warm aura, it kind of promised protection so she gravitated to the warmth. They stopped when they heard screaming though.

"Help! Anyone, please!"

"That's Tommy and J.P.!" Meredith looked at Takuya and he nodded.

"We have to help them." Takuya and Meredith started to run towards where the scream had come from.

:Amelia:

Amelia yawned as they walked down the tunnel but she stopped when she heard commotion up ahead. Koji edged towards the grate that was ahead. Once close enough Koji touched it but it fell without any force being applied to it.

"I'm not a chocolate bar!" The scream reached them and while it confused Koji it just caused Amelia to snicker slightly.

Amelia moved to stand beside Koji, they watched as two people came stumbling into the room. One was wearing a blue and yellow jumpsuit while the other wore a big yellow hat. The two of them were being chased by creatures with floppy ears and looked overly hungry. The two of them were quickly swamped by the floppy eared creatures.

"Help! Anyone, please!" Amelia watched as Koji jumped down grabbing onto one of the poles after a couple of seconds.

"You're not such a bad guy are you?" Amelia watched as Koji landed and broke off one of the sticks.

Amelia laughed and jumped, grabbing onto the same thing that Koji had grabbed. By the time that Amelia reached the ground Koji was already fighting off the floppy ear creatures. Amelia mused for a second over the fact that Koji was good at fighting before jumping in. The creature that had been about to bite Koji she managed to grab of its ear and yank it backwards, throwing it.

She spared a glance at Koji before rushing to the two that still had a few to deal with. Since Koji wasn't struggling it seemed like she left him be. She kicked one of the things away from the two and the remaining ones that had been around the two boys jumped at her. She was quick on her feet, falling into a slight dance to dodge their strikes since they were pretty easily to predict. She head-butted one of the creatures that she didn't have time to dodge and spun, elbowing another one.

"Hey!" Amelia shouted at Koji when one of the creatures he had knocked around hit her in the back.

She turned to look at Koji but stopped, suddenly the creatures were glowing.

"Don't smile yet human!" The creature in front of Koji cried out as suddenly all of the glowing lights started to morph together.

"Oh great." The multiple tiny creatures turned into one big creature, one stinky and slimy creature at that.

"You guys might wanna move!" Amelia shouted since the thing looked at them.

"O-on it!" The one in the jumpsuit ran while the one in the hat tripped, Amelia grabbed him and pulled him along.

Well she tried to pull him but her ankle flared in pain and she was falling. Koji though managed to grab Tommy and Amelia's hand, getting both all of them out of the way of the green sludge. The sludge burned through the ground and they stared at the holes in the floor.

"Acid sludge!" More green sludge came at them but thankfully the aim was off a bit so they had a chance to get up and move.

Koji had Tommy and Amelia gritted her teeth as she ran the fast she could. As they were running two people came through the tunnel that the boy in the jumpsuit was by.

"Takuya! Meredith! One of you two have to Spirit Evolve!" The jumpsuit boy yelled it.

Amelia tripped, her ankle giving and she slid across the ground. She nearly fell into a hole that Koji was backing towards without realizing it.

"Going somewhere?" The sludge creature was closing in on them, forcing Koji to take more steps backwards.

"Koji, stop!" Koji stopped just before he stepped back off of the ground and Amelia turned and sat up.

"Come on, come on! SPIRIT!" Takuya messes with his D-Tector.

Meredith saw Bokomon and Neemon coming. She ran up to them and handed them the egg.

"Bokomon, take this please. Protect it." Bokomon was confused but took the egg from Meredith.

"Execute! Spirit Evolution!" Takuya rushed towards the sludge monster the moment he was fully Agunimon.

"Please, work with me." Meredith pulled out her D-Tector and the screen glowed before the Symbol of Water appeared.

"Execute! Spirit Evolution!" As Meredith started to evolve, Agunimon slammed the sludge monster into the wall.

"Now's your chance, run!" Agunimon told that to Koji, Tommy, and Amelia as sludge went everywhere, yet Meredith came out as Sakanamon.

"Still here!" As the sludge monster let out more sludge Sakanamon held her hands out.

"Tempest Whirlpool!" Even if Sakanamon used the shield Agunimon attempted to get Tommy and out of the way, accidently sending Koji over the edge.

"Koji!" Amelia twisted quickly trying to grab Koji's hand but she missed his hand so he continued falling.

"Idiot!" Amelia looked at Agunimon as she shouted the words.

"I didn't mean to!" Agunimon shouted back, turning back into himself. "What's going on? I turned back into me!"

"This isn't the time to fight amongst ourselves!" Sakanamon grabbed Amelia while Takuya managed to scramble away with Tommy.

The sludge monster tried to shoot them with a sludge but it missed and hit the wall. The light that the hole let in shined into the hole that Koji had fallen in. A couple seconds later all the beams of light moved so there were shining down into the hole.

"It is time." A voice radiates. The light overpowered most of Koji's senses, but he could smell. In fact, his sense of smelling was that a wolf's.

"EXECUTE SPIRIT EVOLUTION!"

The armor began to appear around him and then compressed onto him. His eyes were filled with light for a moment before it disappeared to reveal crimson red eyes in place of navy blue. Jumping down, he landed on the platform, slashed with his sabers before sheathing them, and stood up firing his laser once, completing the evolution.

"Lobomon!"

"What's going on?" As Amelia spoke something jumped out of the hole.

"That's the Legendary Warrior of Light, Lobomon." Amelia looked at the white creature that was holding an egg but also looking at a book.

"Lobomon?" Amelia was sat on her feet but she winced, shifting off of her ankle.

Sakanamon was going to jump in when the sludge monster spewed out more sludge but Lobomon rushed forwards, taking one of his beam swords after saying 'Lobo Kendo'. Lobomon batted away the sludge and then jumped, stabbing the sludge monster in it's head. Brownish purple goo started to pour out of the sludge monster as it was surrounded by data.

"Now, you talking trash heap, prepare to be recycled! Fractal code: DIGITIZE!" Lobomon scanned the fractal code from the creature and a ball of light was left behind.

In a swirl of the fractal code Lobomon started to glow. Lobomon reverted though and turned back into Koji. While everyone stared, Amelia made her ways towards Koji slowly but Takuya beat her there since he was fast.

"Hey are you ok? Let me help you up." Amelia had approached just as Koji turned to look at Takuya just a bit.

"I don't need your help. Or anyone else's. But I guess I should thank you for saving me. I always repay my debts." Amelia tilted her head, thinking between the Koji in front of her and the one that had jumped down to help the boy in the hat and the one in the jumpsuit.

"Why you!" Sakanamon shouted the words but was cut off by Amelia losing it and giggling.

"Oh don't that too seriously, trust me he isn't as mean as he seems." Amelia walked over to Koji and bent down, he was glaring at Amelia now.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Amelia shook her head.

"Nothing, besides that you should be a bit nicer Koji." Koji grumbled, but stood up slowly.

"Who are you anyways?" Sakanamon asked as she glared at Koji, Takuya had backed up towards Sakanamon and the others.

"Koji Minamoto, what's your name? I do owe you thanks for saving me and I always repay my debts." He eyed Takuya mostly but did glance at Sakanamon.

"I'm Takuya Kanbara, but I didn't do it so you would owe me." Koji crossed his arms and Amelia stood up.

"Meredith Suzuki, who's she?" Meredith, who had reverted back to human looked at Amelia.

"'She' is Amelia Chasen." Koji made 'hmph' noise as Amelia spoke and turned, starting to walk away.

"You talked about safety in numbers, right, stick with them." Amelia rolled her eyes before turning around.

"Nah, I like the silence." Amelia caught up to Koji once more, waving over her shoulder.

"See ya." With that Koji and Amelia walked off, Koji did shoot a look at Amelia but didn't say anything about her following him this time.

Tommy, J.P., Takuya, and Meredith stared after them.

"Jeez, what's their deal?" J.P. asked it but Meredith just turned and walked back towards Bokomon.

"How's the egg Bokomon?" Meredith leant down so she was closer to the egg's height, and picked it up.

"Where did you find a DigiEgg?" Meredith placed her hand on the egg as Bokomon asked the question.

"DigiEgg?" Takuya parroted the words as he touched the egg but the moment he did the egg glowed and cracked.

"I didn't do anything, I swear!" Takuya shouted while Meredith stared at the egg.

"It's hatching!" Neemon shouted that and the top half of the egg popped off to reveal a small blue dragon like thing that looked like a baby.

"Mama, daddy!" The baby dragon shouted it as it laid eyes on Meredith and Takuya.

The goggleheads froze.

"When did you two have a child?" Neemon asked the question and Bokomon grabbed his pants, snapping him.

The goggleheads are parents now? Wolf-boy has some pretty sweet moves. But what's with the attitude? Find out on the next Digimon: Digital Monsters!
