I thank Jeabird for helping me with this story.
The gang tried to hitch a ride to the Forest Terminal on another Trailmon, but they tickled him right out of the picture. While trying to decide which way to go, Takuya and Zoe had another zing feast and the group split up. Zoe, JP, Meredith, DemiVeemon, Neemon and Bokomon ended up in Breezy Village, where the Floramon used their heads to squish out some lunch, but the kids weren't biting, well almost all of them. Then the Mushroomon appeared and bombed the group with Giggle Grenades. When the Fungus Brothers Digivolved to Woodmon, Zoe Spirit Evolved to Kazemon. But when the butterfly blew it, Lobomon and Sakanamon showed up and knocked the sap out of him!
As the group was walking along the set of tracks that ran over ground, they paused and watched a Trailmon cross the bridge in the distance, it was high off of the ground. As they stood there a sudden wind kicks up causing sand to consume them in a weak sand storm.
"Hey cool! My ears are full of sand!" Neemon laughed, sounding joyful as ever.
"Yes, and your head is full of rocks." Bokomon was walking along at the back of the group as he spoke.
"Wow, I haven't been in a wind this strong since...well...ever." Tommy's word stated the truth that everyone silently agreed with.
As Meredith walked, she protected DemiVeemon the best she could. As they're walking they hear a horn and some words but the wind made the word hard to hear, it sounded like a broken 'coming through', the group looked up to see what was coming. They group ran off of the tracks as quick as possible the moment they saw the Trailmon.
"That was close." J.P. stared at the train that they barely dodged.
"Why do things in the Digital World always come out of nowhere?" Takuya was asking no one in particular but Bokomon looked at him.
"What do you mean nowhere? We're walking along train tracks." Takuya looked at Bokomon.
"So?" As the gogglehead shot that back at Bokomon they were growing closer to a building.
"So where there are tracks there's a train, it's kinda like the whole smoke-fire thing." As Bokomon spoke some wind got sucked into a tube.
"Wow, awesome!" Tommy was in awe, staring at the building before them.
"Welcome to Wind Factory Incorporated." They stared, partially confused and partially awed.
"Wind Factory Incorporated?" Zoe was more on the confused side.
"A division of Mother Nature Enterprises." For once Neemon didn't get scolded for being stupid but they were watching metallic beetles that were inside of the gates.
"Buzz, two, three, four." The beetles changed it as they walked in a straight line.
"Hey, some Digimon." Takuya was pointing out the obvious since everyone could see them.
"Kokuwamon, machine Digimon. When they feel threatened they let out a million volt electrical charge, their special attack is Power Surge." Bokomon did the introduction as per usual.
One of the Kokuwamon tripped over something and due to the domino effected the others who bumped into him since he was in the front they had a backwards domino fall. As they all laid on the ground they sparked and let out electricity. As they were watching Tommy watched amazed.
"Well if there are that many Digimon around then there must be some food around here somewhere." As soon as Bokomon mentioned food they were all fired up.
"Alright! Then let's have us a feast!" Takuya started to run but J.P. stopped him.
"But Takuya, hold on." Takuya walked back to J.P.
"Why? What's up?" He waited for the fat boy to answer.
"Listen Taky, as long as you're headin' out to get some food, would you mind getting me an order to go with extra everything?" That puzzled but bothered Takuya.
"What? I'm not the Pizzamon, it's every tummy for itself." Takuya turned and let out some kind of bark before running off again.
"Hey!" J.P. shouted after Takuya, but they all started to run now.
"Last one to fill their plate is a rotten egg! Woo hoo!" As Takuya declared that and entered alarms started to off.
"Why are there alarms going off?" Meredith had stopped once she heard the alarms while the others continued for a few seconds before they were cut off due to Digimon hanging from strings dropping down in front of them.
"Warning! Warning! Warning! A warning from Minomon!" The Digimon, Minomon nearly hit Takuya when he swung down while Bokomon began to read something in his book that seemed to have all of the answers.
"Hello there." Neemon greeted the Minomon.
"Hm..." Bokomon hummed as he looked at the page.
"Are you not listening to me? I said 'Warning! Warning!'" Minomon was yelling now, still not sounding complete intimidating at all.
"They're larva Digimon." Bokomon said it in a tone that said just that should explain everything.
"Warning, no trespassers allowed in the Wind Factory. No entry! Leave now, go home! Stop! If you don't obey our warning we will commence our fierce attack!" After saying that two more Minomon just dropped out of nowhere.
"You have now been warned! Stop! What we're trying to say is get out!" Takuya backed up when the three of them started to yell, even Meredith backed away, even if they were cute, they were getting annoying.
"Now would be a real good time for me-" J.P. didn't even get to finish before Takuya made a noise that sounded like he was agreeing already.
"To wait in the car if we had one." J.P. finished while Meredith blew her bangs out of her eyes in annoyance, and Zoe stepped to the Minomon.
"Ugh, boys. Excuse me but we're just here for a tour of the factory." Zoe's words made the Minomon look at each before starting to whisper to each other.
"Let's make the first tour stop the exit door, okay?" J.P. addressed Zoe who just looked at him.
"Then come on down!" The Minomon now sounded friendly, Zoe smiled and J.P. fell over while Meredith just shrugged.
With that, the group made it into the factory, looking all around. The inside of the factory was clean and there was a wall of glass that showed some Kokuwamon working.
"This is cool!" Tommy declared the words and everyone went to the glass wall so they could see the Kokuwamon work.
"It's so amazing." Zoe stared at them.
"This is great, I love watching other people work." J.P. words made Bokomon sigh, eyeing the other Digimon within the room that the Kokuwamon were in.
"We're not the only ones watching..." Bokomon said it but he wasn't the only one who noticed the others.
"Who are those troll dudes?" Meredith's question made the others notice the green goblin looking Digimon behind the Kokuwamon.
"Goblimon, this ogre Digimon loves being bad, his special attack is Goblin Strike." As he spoke they watched as one of the Goblimon tapped his club on his hand as one of the Kokuwamon passed him.
"Are you enjoying your tour?" Minomon just descended from the ceiling.
"Yeah." Even though only Zoe answered it was safe to safe to say that the others were enjoying it as well.
"Do you have any questions?" Minomon drew Neemon's attention.
"Can we slide on this floor in our socks?" No on reacted to rabbit-like digimon's question, it was just – so Neemon.
"If you feel you must, go ahead." Minomon moved away slightly and suddenly J.P. started to hop one foot to the other.
"What's wrong?" Tommy looked at J.P., concerned a little.
"I really need to find a bathroom, like right now!" J.P. was already running down the hall by the time he was halfway done talking.
"It's on the left!" Minomon called the words after J.P. and he turned the corner and headed right for said door.
"Oh boy!" J.P. reached for the door to open it -
"Hey you!" Someone shouted it from somewhere.
"Huh?" J.P. turned his head to look towards where the sound came from.
"What was that? Whatever it is can wait!" J.P. yanked the door open and rushed into the bathroom.
"Come on, hurry it up!" There was another should and from the window down the hall there was bright blue light and Kokuwamon moan.
"So much better, hm?" J.P. walks out before deciding to check out where the noise had come from.
"Hey JP! Hurry up! Did ya fall in?" J.P. stopped when Takuya called down the hall and Meredith laughed at Takuya's words.
"I'm comin' already!" J.P. turns around and starts down the hall but behind him the room lit up again and shadows of the Kokuwamon where cast with electricity flowing out of them, groaning in pain.
Once J.P. rejoined the group they head to the main room, a big open room with a big machine in the middle, a crane coming off of it.
"This is the backbone of Wind Factory." The Minomon sounded proud as it spoke and the group looked at the machine that was in the center.
"It's where all the latest ultra-high-tech super machines are made!" The Minomon was excited and proud, those emotions showed through it's tone.
"So cool." Tommy was still fascinated by everything he was seeing.
"You call that an ultra-high-tech super machine? Please." Bokomon sounded displeased but attention was drawn to the 'ultra-high-tech super machine'.
"A fan?" Tommy stared at the fans as the conveyor belt moved, taking the fans into the machine.
"And an ugly one at that, I mean gray is so out." Zoe watched the fans in boredom.
"What's so high-tech about a stupid fan?" J.P. was blunt enough to ask the question that they all wondered.
"Hey, it beats a folded piece of paper!" The Minomon yelled at them defensively as it swung side to side.
"Uh." They didn't know what to say and Minomon approached them, hanging behind them.
"Now, before we get you some lovely parting gifts, are there any questions?" Everyone raised their hands quickly.
"Yeah! Where is the cafeteria?" Minomon led them to the cafeteria, where they were all unhappy with the 'food'.
They stared and sweatdropped at the 'food' they had in front of them. Sitting on the plates being called food was a nice array of batteries. Yes. Batteries that are used to power things.
J.P. stared at the batteries, stomach rambling lowly.
Takuya looked away and to the Minomon that hung by the table.
"So, what exactly do you call this?" Zoe tried to sound interested, kind even.
"A 9 volt omelet?" Neemon added in his two cents, well if it's worth two cents or nine volts.
"Eat up everybody!" Minomon cheered.
"They're really lovely batteries, but-" Zoe was cut off.
"Oh you'll love them! They're our chef's special!" They looked around at Minomon's words and they watched as a Kokuwamon drain the electricity out of a battery.
"Just look at the Kokuwamon, they can't get enough!" They just stared at the Kokuwamon that Minomon had pointed out.
Neemon watched, almost in fascination as the Kokuwamon drained the batteries.
"Be sure to save room for dessert, it's alkaline." Minomon was smiling through it's voice.
"We can't eat this stuff!" Takuya and J.P. declared it at the same time while Meredith pushed her plate away.
"It might be delicious, but sadly, I'm allergic." Meredith's smile twitched while Takuya and J.P. dropped the batteries.
"Say, don't you have any sugary treats lying around, you know, for special guests?" Tommy slid up beside Minomon, trying to be quiet.
"How about a double A pie?" More batteries.
"No thanks!" Nearly everyone was in Minomon's face and the larva Digimon let out a squeak-like noise before flying away.
The group sighed and left the cafeteria. After a few moments of remembering the layout, they headed towards the outside.
"I'm worried we might've offended the Minomon." They were headed to the gate when Zoe suddnely spoke.
"More than lunch offended us?" Takuya rolled his eyes as he thought back to that lunch.
"At least they offered us food, it might not have been edible but at least they offered us food, Takuya." Meredith cut it.
"Can we get back to worrying about my stomach?" Takuya kicked a battery as J.P. spoke.
"Stupid batteries!" The battery that Takuya had kicked landed by Goblimon and it grabbed their attention.
"Huh?" Takuya started to laugh nervously.
"Hey, look." Meredith pointed towards what she was calling attention to.
"What's that?" Zoe asked it while Bokomon looked at it.
"It's a building with a fence around it, too obvious an answer." Bokomon stated it but Meredith glanced at him for stating the obvious.
"Well let's check it out!" Takuya led the group in their run towards the fenced in building, fitting since he declared the words.
As they got there an elder Kokuwamon stepped forward. It was easy to tell he was at least among the oldest since he used a cane to walk and despite being metal he had a metallic moustache.
"So this-" Takuya seemed slightly too surprised to finished.
"Is where the Kokuwamon live." Zoe finished for Takuya, looking around.
"At least they're out in the sunshine." Neemon sounded joyful.
"Yes, where they can sweat and rust." Bokomon chose to rain on Neemon's parade though.
Four small Kokuwamon stepped towards them, looking at them. J.P. and Tommy looked back at them, staring at them just like they were being stared at.
"You're kinda funny lookin'," One of the little ones said and they giggled.
DemiVeemon looked at Meredith, practically asking with his eyes to be set down. He looked excited – probably due to younger Digimon like himself being present. Meredith glanced at them before letting him and DemiVeemon hesitated but headed towards the small Kokuwamon, even small they were slightly taller than DemiVeemon was.
"Wanna play?" DemiVeemon asked it, a bit shy but the small Kokuwamon seemed excited at the thought and they were quick to agree.
"Where once there was there, there is now here, which is neither here nor there." The elder spoke the words, confusing the group.
"If I said that made any sense, I'd be lying." Zoe had her head cocked to the side.
"Yeah I'm lost too." Tommy stared at the Kokuwamon, agreeing with Zoe.
"Sorry, the Elder's charge is a little low these days. Perhaps our story would make more sense if we begin at the beginning." A younger Kokuwamon stepped forwards as he spoke.
"We Kokuwamon lived peacefully in the forest for generations, we played among the trees and had games of electric tag." As the younger Kokuwamon spoke an image of a vast forest with windmills and various Kokuwamon in trees letting off electricity came to mind for the group.
"Until one day, without warning, the Goblimon attacked! The wind at the Wind Factory had gotten weaker and the energy for the generator had gotten low. So their leader had us rounded up." The image bled red and an image of the Kokuwamon in a net surrounded by Goblimon came to mind.
"They took us all from our beautiful wooden home and put us to work in the factory." The Kokuwamon sounded so sad.
"Here, not there." The elder sounded just pure homesick.
Meredith felt bad for them. She thought that nobody should be kicked of their home let alone get captured and forced to work. She couldn't help but remember how she was kicked out of her band. Perhaps it wasn't her home per say, but it felt like that to her, it was one of the outlets that she had and that she loved. They say home is where the heart is, and her heart was definitely there.
"Man that just blows." Tommy frowned and he stared at the ground.
"Yeah and everything seemed so normal when we were toured the factory." Zoe thought back but she came up empty, there was nothing that she saw that made her think that something like that had happened.
"I had a feeling something was wrong, my gut told me." J.P. crossed his arms and looked at Takuya.
"Great, even your stomach's a know-it-all. So how come they needed your labor in such a modern factory?" Takuya looked back to the Kokuwamon after addressing J.P.
"Our labor is more of a bonus for the Goblimon, it is not the main reason they keep us. You must understand they would never let you outsiders see what really goes on there. We Kokuwamon are a timid and cowardly breed by nature, but when we're frightened we emit electrical currents up to a million volts." The same Kokuwamon said it and the memory of a Goblimon hitting a cell that contained the Kokuwamon could be remembered, the Kokuwamon all letting off electric charges.
"So they scare us, constantly. Sometimes they even pour water on us to short us out, then they use the electricity we give off at the factory. Or even worse, they threaten to hang us upside down so the charge rushes to our heads. And if all that doesn't work they show us pictures of people's feet. I've gotten so jumpy these days I feel like there's a kangaroo in my pants!" J.P. thought back to when he had gone to the bathroom, he knew had heard something.
"So that was the noise I heard when I came out of the bathroom." J.P. sounded trouble as he spoke.
"Scary here." The elder spoke.
"We're in the factory every day, this really isn't very much fun for us at all." At the Kokuwamon's words the group all started to get a certain look on their faces.
"It's no pay and hard work." Another Kokuwamon chimed in and the group looked at each other.
"And no vacations." As another chimed in the group looked at them once again.
"Can't go there." The elder's words were some of the last that they needed to hear.
"Well why don't you leave?" Tommy's words surprised the Kokuwamon.
"Yeah, when the goin' gets too tough the really smart ones take off." J.P.'s words had Takuya turning his head to look at him.
"Are you out of your mind?! If they take off then the Goblimon will track them down and smash them all into little pieces!" Takuya was angry.
"Let me guess, Taky! You got some bright idea they should band together and fight back?" J.P. yelled right back and they got into each other's faces, growling at each other.
"We're not really fighters and as for running away, we can't because the Goblimon security is just too tight." Kokuwamon spoke up, breaking the fight before it happened.
"Well it seems like those are your only two options." Meredith nodded at the words that Takuya said.
"It does come down to that, either you run or you fight." The outcome in either could be good or bad.
"I suppose if we had to choose, we would prefer the running option." Kokuwamon spoke and other Kokuwamon agreed.
"If you run now, you'll never stop running, but if you fight them, you could be free forever. You won't have to do it alone, we'll help ya beat them." There was a fire burning in Takuya's eyes as he spoke and Meredith smiled at the determination that he had, it was a reason why she liked him.
Takuya's words had sparked interest in one of the present young Kokuwamon but they also made J.P. angry.
"Hey, who died and made you decision guy anyway? What if we don't want any part of this fight, huh?" J.P. grabbed Takuya while Zoe, Tommy and Meredith stood up.
"I'm in." Zoe sounded determined, her mind was made up.
"Yeah, when do we start?" Tommy held his head high.
"You guys will need all the help you can get, count me in." Meredith smiled.
"Excellent!" Bokomon and Neemon moved so they stood closer to Takuya than J.P., but as they did that the little Kokuwamon stood up.
"Mm hm." The little one's movement caused to more to stand as well.
"Mm hm." They were in too.
"Right let's do it!" The Kokuwamon all seemed in for it.
"This might be the most important moment of our lives." The Kokuwamon that spoke was getting pumped.
"However short they may be!" The words that came from the Kokuwamon by the elder didn't seem to dampen the mood at all.
"Here, here!" The elder used his cane as he stood, also in support for fighting.
"Well something tells me those Goblimon aren't gonna get the shock of their lives!" Takuya grinned as he spoke.
"Okay, is everyone ready?" Zoe looked around as she asked, J.P. had backed away from the group though and he stood back by the wall.
"Ready when you are!" The Kokuwamon cheered.
"Ch, ready to get ourselves killed." J.P. muttered the words as he walked past a window, missing a Minomon lowering from nowhere.
"Oh I knew it! Anyone who turns down double A pie has got to be trouble! Snimon's not gonna like this!" Minomon goes back up and Takuya starts to draw up plan.
"Well listen up, we're gonna do this tonight! First, Zoe and Meredith will cause a distraction right here. They're gonna try to get as many Goblimon as possible over to the gate. That is, if you think you can handle it." Takuya looked at them.
"No sweat." Zoe was confident and Takuya looked at Meredith.
"Don't worry about me." She grinned as she spoke and Takuya nodded.
"Then the rest of us will move into the factory and wait for the right moment to attack and when the signal comes, we all hit the same target: destroy the assembly line and that's it. So what do ya say, are ya with me?" Takuya looked at the Kokuwamon as he spoke.
"Affirmative!" The Kokuwamon all rose their hands as the spoke.
"Great, this is teamwork guys and a great plan! Just like the ones I used to draw up for my army men, except this time it's for real! Pretty cool, huh? Heh, heh, heh." Takuya was laughing at the end but no one else was laugh.
"Yeah, pretty cool for you, Takuya." Zoe shot the jab at Takuya.
"What's that mean?!" Takuya was bothered.
"I get it, so if there's no place for them to work I guess they'll just get to go home again." Tommy cut it to stop Takuya and Zoe from going at it.
"It's not quite that simple, Tommy. We'll still have the Goblimon leader to get rid of." Takuya looked at Tommy.
"I'm not going." All attention was on J.P. now.
"What?" They were all confused and surprised by J.P. saying he was sitting it out.
"Why don't you guys take care of this one and just holler if you need me." J.P. looked away from them with his hands behind his head.
"What are you saying, JP?" Takuya couldn't help but question J.P.
"I'm saying that you guys are on your own. You don't need me, you probably don't even want me. I can't become a Digimon like you guys! I'm just tall...sweet...cuddly." J.P. was angry at the start but turned sad at the end.
"Man I will never understand what your problem is." Takuya sighed.
"My problem is you, trying to make me do what I don't want to!" J.P. was angry once again, shouting in Takuya's face.
"Oh yeah?!" Takuya returned the favor.
"You two loudmouths are gonna make the Kokuwamon cry." Takuya and J.P. looked from each other and then at the Kokuwamon at Bokomon's words.
"We understand what JP is going through." The Kokuwamon that spoke looked at J.P.
"You see, before we met you we never even dreamed of fighting back." Another Kokuwamon chimed in.
"But you have given us hope and that is something we haven't had in a long time and you have seen how strong we can be if we just believe in ourselves." The Kokuwamon that had spoked about understanding J.P. spoke again.
"We believe." The elder chimed in.
"You do?" Takuya asked it while J.P. turned and walked to the wall.
"Huh?" Takuya was confused by J.P. just turning and walking away.
"Believe in yourself, like it's just that simple. Gimme a break." J.P. puts his hands on the wall and the little Kokuwamon runs over to him. He stared at J.P. worriedly and sadly.
The sun was setting soon after that and J.P. was standing on a hill alone. He stared at the setting sun, lost in his own thoughts.
'Why did I get on that stupid train anyway?' As J.P. was lost in is thoughts the little Kokuwamon once again ran to his side.
'I can't do anything right in the Digital World.'
"Excuse me, sir." The little Kokuwamon broke J.P. out of his thoughts so he turned and looked at him.
"Can we really go back to the forest tomorrow? I miss the trees." The little Kokuwamon sounded hopeful and said; J.P. bent down so he was closer to the height of the little Kokuwamon.
"Don't worry, we'll get ya back home." J.P. gave an encouraging smile to the little Kokuwamon.
"Gee, thanks mister, ha ha ha." The little Kokuwamon smiled the best it could.
It was that night when everything went down. It was time for the Kokuwamon to make a stand with the help of the Legendary Warriors. They were determined to go back home, they were tired of working there and they wanted to go back home now.
"Alright, it's go time." Takuya had his hands in fists, determined to get this done.
"Go!" The Kokuwamon moved a bit.
"Are we ready?" Takuya looked from the Kokuwamon to the others.
"Ready!" The Kokuwamon responded verbally while the others just nodded before they started to run.
Takuya pulled out his D Tector and held it up.
"It is time." As the voice spoke through his D Tector the symbol of Flame lit the screen yet the others had a similar occurrence.
"Execute: Spirit Evolution!" Takuya, Meredith, Tommy, and Zoe all spoke at the same time, all starting up the process of their Spirit Evolution.
"Agunimon!"
"Sakanamon!"
"Kazemon!"
"Kumamon!"
The group of four broke the doors with ease. There was a miniature explosion as the doors were blasted off of it's hinges and sent into the compound. The alarms sounded and Minomon descended from above.
"Warning! Warning!" The Minomon shouted it at the group.
"Go away you mouthy pinecones!" Kazemon ran up, sweeping her arm at them and they pulled theirselves up while she flew upwards.
"Hurricane Waves!" Kazemon summoned up her hurricane waves.
"Tempest Whirlpool!" Sakanamon's whirlpool mixed with the Hurricane Waves and the combined attacks destroyed the alarms – actually caused an explosion that the two entered.
'That oughtta wake up the neighbors.' Kazemon stopped running as she thought that, Sakanamon stood beside her.
"Come out, come out wherever you are. Hm, hm." Kazemon calls out towards the Goblimon that were on their way.
"Think they're here to play Kazemon." Sakanamon could see the Goblimon approaching.
As the Goblimon charged towards Kazemon and Sakanamon they ran right past Agunimon and Kumamon. The boys watched as the Goblimon ran past their hiding spot.
"Right, now follow me!" Agunimon spoke and dashed, leading the way in with Kumamon, the Kokuwamon, Bokomon, and Neemon following him.
While they were busy charging in and both Kazemon and Sakanamon were fight the Goblimon J.P. was standing on a hill away from the battles. Some of the Kokuwamon were with him, watching as the plan was executed.
"Buzz, two, three, four. Buzz two, three, four." The Kokuwamon that were with J.P. changed it as they walked up the hill.
Kazemon and Sakanamon were taking care of the Goblimon, the group of Goblimon weren't very hard to keep under control. They were knocking them down pretty easily.
"You should go and help Agunimon and the others, Sakanamon." Sakanamon looked at Kazemon.
"I got this under control so leave it to me." The warrior of water smiled and nodded at the warrior of wind.
"I'll leave this to you then Kazemon."
Once inside of the factory, some Goblimon came running at them but before Agunimon or Kumamon could actually attack the Goblimon the Kokuwamon jumped the Goblimon. The Kokuwamon tackled the Goblimon and it seemed to catch the Goblimon off guard.
"Power Surge!" The Kokuwamon shocked the Goblimon.
The electricity weakened the Goblimon and the Kokuwamon grabbed one of the Goblimon and put him through the glass. With the glass broken the Goblimon landed onto the conveyor belt. The Kokuwamon started to sparked.
"Power Surge!" This time instead of the Goblimon the factory parts were the object of the surge, they exploded pretty nicely too.
"Crystal Freeze!" The Goblimon that had been put into a cell was frozen solid.
"Yeah!" Kumamon cheered.
"Alright, nice work, Kumamon." As Agunimon praised Kumamon, Sakanamon appeared.
"Is everything alright, Sakanamon?" Kumamon was worried and Agunimon looked at Sakanamon.
"Nothing, Kazemon has the gate covered, so we figured I should come and help you guys out."
Agunimon began to run down the hall with Sakanamon close on his tail, Neemon and Bokomon after then.
"He made Goblimon pops." Neemon managed to avoid getting snapped for that joke.
"Wait up!" Kumamon ran to catch up with Agunimon and the others, Kokuwamon following after Kumamon.
Elsewhere with J.P. and the other Kokuwamon on the hill. J.P. stared at the Wind Factory.
'Everyone gets to spirit evolve but me, that so figures.' J.P. curled his hands into fists, he was getting frustrated really badly now.
Back with the others they came to a door. The door was locked via electric lock. The lock required some kind of code or pattern to be input through a series of buttons. One of Kokuwamon came forward though and held his hand towards the lock.
"This should get us past the lock." His hand spark and it hit the lock, breaking the locking and causing the door to open.
"Open, says me." Neemon was ignored in favor of them running in.
"Next stop, the assembly line! Huh?" As Agunimon said it the lights turned on and they saw a swarm of Goblimon.
"Oh no!" Neemon exclaimed and backed up.
"I don't like the looks of this." Bokomon backed up as well.
A large insect Digimon came down, he was sitting on a hook and chain. The insectoid Digimon was laughing as he stared at the group. The Goblimon below him had their clubs raised, ready to fight.
"Oh, gross! What is that thing?!" Sakanamon eyed the insectoid Digimon as she spoke.
"Snimon, this praying mantis Digimon has blades for hands, his special attack is Twin Sickles." Bokomon spoke, not sounding happy at all.
"Well, look what we have here." As Snimon spoke he jumped down from his perch.
"You destroyed part of my factory, so I'll destroy you!" Snimon slashed at Agunimon but Agunimon managed to dodged Snimon.
"Oh boy!" Agunimon eyed Snimon, waiting for what would come next.
As Agunimon faced off with Snimon, J.P. was having his own battle. This was a battle against himself though. He was stuck in his thoughts, lost amongst the see of thoughts that were all going down a certain path of pessimistic thoughts.
'Here I am, where's it safe. Talk about useless. Takuya's got the fire power of Agunimon, Meredith's controlling water as if she's the ruler of the ocean, Zoe's flying around like she's Queen of the Sky, even Tommy's got the power to turn anything he wants into a frozen dinner. All I have is a constant craving for chocolate. Well, let 'em fight with Kokuwamon.' J.P. looked up from staring at the ground.
"It's not like I care or anything...cause I don't." As he said that there was commotion behind him.
"You can't, you're too small!" The elder Kokuwamon barely caught the little Kokuwamon's arm and J.P. stared at them, watching.
"Only on the outside, remember what Takuya said? I believe in myself, I do!" It was the same little Kokuwamon that J.P. had promised.
"Yes, but you must also believe in others to fight when you can't." That seemed to strike a chord with J.P.
"He can't, but I can." J.P. bent down and placed his hands on the little Kokuwamon's shoulder.
"Mister?" J.P. stood up and started running down the hill.
"You can do it!" The little Kokuwamon cheered for J.P.
Back with Kazemon she seemed to be struggling a little now. She was barely dodging the clubs that the Goblimon threw at her. She was on the defensive now instead of the offensive like she had been when Sakanamon had been with her. She took to the sky to try and make it easier to dodge.
"There's only one of her. Goblin Strike!" All of the Goblimon threw fireballs at Kazemon.
Only one of the fireballs hit her thought that one was enough to knock her down. She was headed for the ground. Kazemon managed to stop herself from falling and she started to fly away from the Goblimon.
'I gotta run, I just hope I bought them enough time.' Kazemon thought as she flew away.
The Goblimon that had fought Kazemon started to cheer. They focused solely on her and that caused them to miss J.P. The older boy ran behind the Goblimon and headed into the factory, his mind set this time.
'Hang on guys, here comes reinforcements.' J.P. focused on that thought as he ran.
Kazemon was the only one who was running from the Goblimon though. Inside of the factory Kumamon was running from some Goblimon that was chasing him. The bear Digimon tripped though yet he was saved from getting clobbered by the Goblimon.
"Power Surge!" One of the Kokuwamon saved Kumamon and managed to stop the Goblimon that had been chasing him.
Neemon and Bokomon were also getting chased by the Goblimon. The Goblimon were close to catching them as well.
"Tempest Whirlpool!" The whirlpool locked the Goblimon away from Bokomon and Neemon.
"Pyro Darts!" Agunimon's attack was blocked by Snimon who used his sickles as shields.
"Pyro Darts!" Even repeating the attack had no effect, besides making Snimon angry.
As that was going on, two Kokuwamon were guiding J.P. towards the others.
"Hurry! The others are at the end of this hallway!" The Kokuwamon rushed J.P.
"I gotta get into shape." J.P. was out of breath.
In the main room the Goblimon had Kumamon, Bokomon, and Neemon trapped against a wall. Another group had chased Sakanamon away from them but she was trying to get towards them and Agunimon. A fireball was thrown at Kumamon, Bokomon, and Neemon, but the fireball missed them thankfully.
"There is no escape!" Snimon flies down and scratches Agunimon across face before hitting him with his tail, sending him away but the warrior of fire got no rest since Snimon charged him.
'This guy's too strong!' Agunimon was getting desperate.
"What's your name? Or should I just call you lunchmeat? Ha ha!" Snimon was pushing Agunimon backwards.
"None of your business!" Agunimon was now up against the railing.
"You dare to taunt me?!" Snimon was angrier yet Agunimon managed to lift him up over his head.
Tossing Snimon over his head and at the central machine. Agunimon hits his fists together and Snimon was already flying at him again, ready for an attack yet again.
"Twin Sickles!" The attack knocked Agunimon back into the wall.
"Now I will destroy all of your little friends, one by one!" Snimon was laughing.
'I failed...' Agunimon was having a problem lifting his head while a Kokuwamon flew over to J.P.
"Isn't there any way to stop him?" The Kokuwamon was worried about what Snimon would do.
"How about givin' me a lift?" J.P. had turned to look at the crane.
The Kokuwamon looked at what he was looking at before nodding. The three machine Digimon worked together and lifted J.P. up off the ground and towards the crane.
"That's it guys, just a little higher." J.P. reaching the crane went unnoticed by Snimon who was laughing manically.
'Oh, no. I gotta do something.' Sakanamon was backed into a corner.
"Tempest Whirlpool!" the warrior of water managed to clear the Goblimon from by her and knocked a few into the ones around Kumamon, Bokomon, and Neemon which had their attention on her instead of them.
'That works… I guess.' Sakanamon watched as the Goblimon shifted towards her.
J.P. was in the crane pressing random buttons. He managed to make the crane move and he even hit Snimon. Snimon's sickles got knocked in the wall which trapped the insect Digimon there. The Goblimon that were present ran away though since then had gotten scared.
"J.P.!" Kumamon called out to him happy that he was there.
"Yeah! Ha ha!" J.P. was ecstatic and gave a thumbs up.
"Quick thinking, buddy! Huh?" The celebration from Agunimon was short lived though.
Agunimon saw Snimon get a sickle out. The moment that the sickle was free one of the beams from twin sickle was thrown right at J.P. and cut the crane. The crane piece fell down and hit the place where the conveyor belts came together.
"JP!" Agunimon was calling it out for a different reason now, J.P. was falling towards the ground.
"No!" Sakanamon rushed towards the railing.
While they were focused on J.P. another part of the crane crashed into Snimon. Snimon was pushed into the wall thanks to that the crane piece. The smoke that was appearing at the base of the now destroyed crane there was blue light. Within that blue light appeared a spirit.
"Is that?" Kumamon noticed it first but couldn't finish the thought.
"A spirit!" Agunimon finished it for the Kumamon though.
Bokomon started to check the book to see if he could find anything.
"Now where do you suppose that came from?" Neemon had a valid question there.
"The metal surrounding it must've been too thick for the D-Tector to uh, detect it. Heh, heh." Bokomon was the only laughing at the joke that he made at the end.
"This time that spirit's gotta be mine!" J.P. had leaned too hard on the broken side and it gave making him fall out of the crane.
J.P. screamed as he fell but he was caught by the Kokuwamon and they brought him to in front of the Spirit.
"Ah! Spirit!" J.P. held his D Tector out towards the Spirit and this time, it entered his D Tector.
"It is time." Finally the words rung from J.P.'s D Tector and a yellow sign appeared on the screen of J.P.'s D Tector.
"Execute: Spirit Evolution!" J.P. began his Spirit Evolution off, finally he had his own Spirit.
Beetlemon's armor began to appear around JP and took their proper places before fusing to him. Turning around, lightning sparked on his armor as his eyes were revealed to be lime green in place of brown. Dropping down to his platform, he brought both his hands above his head before slamming his fists together, completing his Spirit Evolution.
"Beetlemon!" Everyone was stunned by the fact that J.P. Spirit Evolved.
"Look, JP Spirit Evolved!" Agunimon was the one who stated the obvious this time.
"Yes, to Beetlemon, the Warrior of Thunder." Bokomon read it out of the book.
"I can't believe it! I'm Beetlemon!" Beetlemon was jumping around and celebrating the Spirit Evolution.
"I did it! Let's get this party started! Ha ha!" Beetlemon was dancing now.
"Dance while you can, monkey boy. Soon you will taste the fury of Snimon!" Beetlemon stopped dancing when Snimon chose to make a reappearance.
"The only thing I wanna taste is a cheeseburger with a side of fries!"After Beetlemon's retort Snimon charged him but Beetlemon dodged and kicked Snimon.
Snimon tried to stab Beetlemon's shoulders with his sickles but the sickles didn't go through Beetlemon's armor. Beetlemon just pushed forwards and ended up ramming Snimon into the wall.
"Beetlemon one, green guy nothin'!" It was too early for Beetlemon to start cheering since Snimon got back up and flew at him.
"Whoa!" Beetlemon escaped to the air to dodge Snimon.
"Missed me!" Snimon shook his sickles at Beetlemon.
"Twin Sickles!" Snimon's attack just passed right through Beetlemon, not phasing him at all – damage wise at least.
"Oh yeah? I call forth..." Electricity sparked wildly from Beetlemon's hands.
"Rah!" Snimon flew upwards towards Beetlemon.
"The power of..." Beetlemon's hands were locked together.
"Rah!" Snimon continued to charge Beetlemon.
"Thunder Fist!" Beetlemon slammed Snimon on his head and sent the insect Digimon crashing into a wall.
"Where once your power was used for evil..." Beetlemon took out his D Tector and Snimon's Fractal Code appeared and Snimon faded to a black mass that retained his shape.
"Let it now be used for good! Fractal Code: Digitize!" Beetlemon scanned the Fractal Code and an image of Snimon appeared on the screen of his D-Tector.
The Goblimon that had stuck around watched as their boss was defeated. They looked at each other for a split second before turning tail to run. If there boss was defeated they didn't want to stick around and become the next target. There was no time for celebration though, because where the Spirit of Thunder had been lights up and started to catch fire.
"The factory's gonna blow! Everybody out!" Agunimon shouted it and everyone ran but thankfully the factory only blew once everyone was outside.
That night everyone slept peacefully since everyone was out of energy from the fight that they had fought. They gathered outside of the now destroyed factory. Everyone was cheering because finally the nightmare was over for the Kokuwamon.
"Mama!" DemiVeemon jumped into Meredith's arms.
"What's wrong?" Meredith's voice was soft, DemiVeemon was crying.
"I was scared that something happened to you!" Meredith just hugged the crying DemiVeemon.
"Finally! There is here!" The elder Kokuwamon cheered.
"Our story has come full circle!" All of the Kokuwamon were happy.
"You can all go back to your real homes now." J.P. was looking at the little Kokuwamon that stood in front of him, the one he had promised.
"I was right to believe in you." As soon as that was said the wind picked up causing sandy winds to kick up yet again.
"Huh?" They were confused, the wind had been caused by the Wind Factory hadn't it?
"Warning! Hey warning! We're getting carried away here!" The Minomon that were within the sandy wind cried out but it only caused everyone to laugh.
"Now can we find some food, please? Guys?" J.P.'s words only made them laugh harder.
Elsewhere in a cave a Minomon swung into it. The cave was lit by a torch alone.
"What?! Another Spirit has been found by the stupid humans!?" The voice echoed through the cave.
The single torch made a shadow be cast by the Digimon. The Digimon had wings that arched from his back while his body was just a mass, but from the sleeves you could make out from the shadow it was due to the fact that he wore some type of robe or cloak since his head was mostly just a blur as well besides the distinct curve a horn being seen. The Digimon let out an angry roar that caused the cave itself to shake and the fire on the torch blew out, leaving it dyed in pure darkness.
I don't know who that guy is, but he's creeping me out. Maybe we'll find out next time on Digimon: Digital Monsters.
