Amelia belongs to Jeabird, and I thank her, Black Cat Angel and Kamen Rider Heisei for helping me with this story.
After getting this weird e-mail, Koji broke away from the others to find his Beast Spirit. Not wanting to miss the show, Neemon, Bokomon, and Amelia decided to tag along. The four of them ran into Gotsumon, a rock Digimon who was looking for this jewel that was supposed to awaken the Spirit. Anyway, their old pal, Daemon, came back for some more fun. When Takuya and the rest of the gang showed up, Daemon defeated them and ended up taking Zoe's Spirit. So Koji used the jewel Gotsumon found to unleash his Beast Spirit. He digivolved to KendoGarurumon and sent the Demon of Wrath right over the edge. Sure hope he can swim!
"Isn't it nice to have a moment of peace and quiet?" Bokomon spoke as he looked around, the group was together and in the forest while there was no fighting going on around them.
"Let's have some fun and play charades." Bokomon looked at Neemon when he said that.
"I thought you said 'fun'". As Bokomon spoke some Tanemon popped up out of the ground.
"I always wanted to try that thing where I'm trapped in an imaginary box." At the end of speaking Neemon found a Tanemon beside him and started to pet the Tanemon.
"Oh, if only the box were real." Bokomon said wishfully as he crossed his arms.
Tommy was staring at the ground looking really upset, "Oh man, I really messed up."
The little boy couldn't stop thinking back to where Zoe's Spirit got stolen by Daemon. He kept blaming himself and feeling really bad about it.
"It's ok, Tommy. What happened wasn't your fault." Zoe tried to assure Tommy, but it didn't make him feel any better.
"Well the next time I see that guy, I'll get your Spirit back, even if I have to do it by myself!" J.P. spoke, sounding as brave as it was easy to say that without having to immediately back it up.
"Why would you want to do something like that?" Neemon was bouncing a Tanemon on his paw as he asked the question.
"Based on your last encounter, I don't think that would be very wise." Bokomon cut in, raining on J.P.'s parade.
"So what?! Sure beats sitting around here doing nothing! She needs my help!" J.P. was quick to retort to Bokomon.
"You have a one-track mind, buddy.", Takuya stood up as he spoke, "We can't just run out and fight. We have to get to the Forest Terminal."
"So what? Then we just let him win?" J.P. also stood up, "I can't just sit back and let Daemon run around with Zoe's Spirit."
Zoe looked at her D Tector sadly, "It's ok, JP." Busy staring at her D-Tector she didn't notice the Tanemon that was trying to greet her.
"Zoe, you're not mopping around, are you?" Meredith eyed Zoe as she spoke.
"No, I just can't forget about it Meredith." Zoe looked at her.
"That's still moping." Meredith replied, but Amelia narrowed her eyes.
"What's wrong with taking a second, during peace time as well, and mourning what was lost? It's better that she takes a moment now than in the middle of some battle. Also her Spirit was taken, that warrants at least a couple moments of sadness. You still have your Spirit, we all do actually, so we don't understand what it's like." Amelia butted in.
"Amelia's right!" J.P. spoke up agreeing with Amelia.
"J.P., Amelia it's fine. Meredith's right." Zoe spoke and put her D-Tector away.
"No, it's really not ok, Zoe! The Spirit of Wind is yours and you were destined to find it! So we're gonna get it back for you!" J.P. looked at Zoe as he spoke.
"Nice sentiment. But we have more important things to do then fight a battle we can't win." Koji spoke as he leaned on a tree with his hands behind his head.
"What is your problem, Koji?! You'd be going crazy if your Spirit was stolen!" J.P. turned on Koji.
"J.P. and Koji has a point, if we keep moving forward though, Daemon is bound to come after us anyways since he wants the Spirits. We can keep moving forwards and getting stronger in anticipation for the next conformation we have with him." Amelia spoke up, hoping to try and stop the fight before it got way out of hand.
"But hey, I understand if you're afraid. Even the great Koji has no chance against Daemon." J.P. skipped over what Amelia had said.
"What?!" Koji was angry at what J.P. said and Amelia sighed.
"Who cares if you have your Beast Spirit. You can't even control it!" J.P.'s words made Koji narrow his eyes, he looked about read to jump J.P.
SMACK! Meredith slapped J.P.
As he watched his best friend slap JP, Takuya was shocked. He knew what JP said was out of line and since Meredith hold the meaning of friendship to the name she felt more hurt from hearing the insult, even if it wasn't directly to her.
Zoe, Tommy, and Amelia were surprised to see the Warrior of Water's bold move. They practically didn't see it coming. Zoe saw how Meredith's slapped hand was shaking. She must've felt hurt of what JP said.
Koji was just as shocked. He didn't know anyone would stuck up for him. He kept telling himself he doesn't need any friends, but deep down he was content that there's one person who was willing to stand with him, even if he doesn't want to show it.
Meredith's heart thumped against her chest. The adrenaline rush hummed in her veins. She inhaled and exhaled in missed rhythm. She fixed her glare on the Warrior of Thunder. How dare he say those awful things to his friend (or comrade in this case)? Who has the right to judge someone with hardly any information about the other? The very thought made her want to punch him in the nose. It was a good thing she hold back.
JP was stunned. He never was slapped before, especially from a girl. This was a first for him. What did he say? How is he a villain? He should be the victim. He was just being honest. But one look into those angry eyes said that he said something that he should've never said.
The tension here was so thick that it became uncomfortable for Bokomon. 'I must find a way to relief this tension. Maybe I should ask Neemon-?' Looking at his companion, he saw the yellow rabbit Digimon staring at the sky.
"Hey, Bokomon, is the sky always so blue?" he asked in a daze.
Bokomon sighed. "You ninny..."
"You're so stupid! It could happen to anyone!" Meredith yelled at JP.
"Hey, stop it!" Tommy was up and in front of Koji.
Takuya jumped in front of J.P., "Knock it off, JP!"
J.P. turned away as he crossed his arms, "I guess I'm the only one who wants to help Zoe!"
"Guys, forget it! Let's just go to the Forest Terminal." Zoe spoke up, not wanting any more commotion to happen over the subject.
"Don't you start talking crazy too!" J.P. stared at Zoe in disbelief.
"Did I just get completely ignored?" Amelia tilted her head as she asked.
"I think you did." One of the Tanemon at her feet spoke, no one even looked in her direction.
"Alright, that's it! I've had enough! I think it is time to do something more productive than stand here and argue!" Everyone was annoyed and Bokomon cleared his throat, "My friends, I believe the time has finally come."
"Has come for what?" J.P. looked at Bokomon confused.
"What do you mean?" Zoe blinked, also confused by what Bokomon was getting at.
"Time you show you the path of wisdom." Bokomon spoke as if he knew all the answers.
"Well there's a change." Zoe smiled slightly.
"Yeah, no kidding." J.P. was waiting for what Bokomon would say.
"Wisdom is a path which is not easily walked. You must think about every choice, consider every option, and know where each step will lead." Bokomon spoke but Meredith eyed Bokomon.
"Then tell me something, Bokomon. If you're so wise, why don't you tell us Beast Spirits were hard to control?" Meredith voiced the words, upset at Bokomon.
"Oh, uh, about that." Bokomon stuttered trying to find words.
"We need to be moving on now!" he changed the subject and started to walk away, leaving Meredith's question unanswered.
Everyone followed after Bokomon and it was silent for a long while. The air was tense at first but it slowly started to relax.
"So what's your wise solution?" J.P. broke the silence with his question.
"Fortune Telling." Bokomon's answer surprised everyone.
"Fortune Telling?" There repeated the word in a questioning tone.
"Shamanmon is the wisest Digimon of them all." Bokomon stated matter-of-factly.
The group looked around as they entered what looked like a carnival. There were lots of colorful tents of different shapes and sizes. There were also different Digimon that had gathered as well.
"Wow, I never had my fortune told before." Tommy was looking around as he spoke.
"I had my palm read once. It took a week to get the paint off." Neemon's words were just kind of brushed off by everyone.
Meredith looking around at the different kinds of tents and she felt like they were all just faking whatever they were claiming to be able to do. Since she was uncomfortable she moved closer to Takuya.
"Something wrong, Meredith?" Takuya looked at her, worried a bit.
"I don't like this place, and it feels like everyone is just after money so they're scamming people." As Meredith spoke, she noticed that one of the fortune tellers had approached J.P.
J.P. was falling for whatever the pitch was despite. He was starting to look really goofy as well. Meredith was annoyed by the fact that someone was trying to trick him, so she went to J.P. and grabbed his ear before dragging him back to the others. She wanted nothing more than to get out of that place right at that moment.
Yet as Meredith was pulling J.P. along one of the fortune tellers had approached Amelia. The girl barely spared the teller a look before just shifting closer to Koji and just ignoring the world. Her eyes barely registered things as she looked around, she was really just more looking for danger instead of someone or something in particular.
The group was walking along the path amongst the 'fortunetellers' after Meredith had dragged J.P. back to the group since he had lagged behind a bit when the fortuneteller had been talking to him. The various different fortunetellers tried to catch the groups fancy but none of them cut it while they just continued to follow Bokomon.
Eventually they came to a temple. The temple gave a feeling of the older days. The temple was made of rocks and had many pillars while it wasn't exactly fancy it did stand out. Most of the 'buildings' surrounding it after all were all tents so the actual structure of the temple stood out among the scenery.
"Why are here, Bokomon?" J.P. asked the question that nearly everyone was wondering.
"The fortunetellers are all fake after all." Meredith added in her opinion before Bokomon could respond.
"Like my Grandmamon's teeth." Neemon's 'serious' comment that sounded more like a joke got barely a obligatory chuckle.
Despite not really know why they were there, they climbed the stairs that lead to the front doors of the temple. After opening the doors of the temple, they walked in.
"Have a little faith, please. I do know what I'm doing. Shamanmon is the real thing." Bokomon lead them in and he sounded all confident.
There was a Digimon at the other end of the hall that the doors had opened into. The Digimon that was at the other end though and their back turned to the group and there wasn't much detail to be seen about him.
"Shamanmon, I call upon you wisdom, your insight and well, basically asking for two cents worth of advice." Bokomon called out.
The Digimon looked like troll with a Mohawk – a blonde Mohawk. The troll wore a vest that was mainly blue, but was brown around the edges while he wore black pants that had a dark grey belt. On top of that he was holding a club.
"Who calls upon Shamanmon?" The Digimon spoke with a voice that while creepy, it was majestic.
"Weary travelers in need of guidance from the universe." Bokomon spoke.
"Oh, you'll get guidance alright." The Digimon laughed slightly and turned around, the moment he turned around though every besides Koji and Amelia gasped, those two did look mildly surprised though.
"Wait a minute! I remember you!" Takuya pointed at the Digimon as he spoke.
"You're one of those nasty Goblimon from the Wind Factory!" Zoe spoke while having a small flashback to the Wind Factory.
"Come on, you guys! Let's get him!" The moment that Tommy spoke Bokomon sprung into action.
"No! No! No! Shamanmon's one of the good guys!" Bokomon turned towards them and started to flare his arms around in the air, "Shamanmon is a medium. This all-seeing Digimon does a ceremonial dance using his magical club to see into the future."
Shamanmon started to hop and dance around, "You should be very careful. Ahead you face much danger. You will come up against a foe you have faced before, but this foe has a friend and in meeting him, you will find a friend is your foe."
"Do you think he means Daemon?" Meredith looked at Amelia as she asked the question.
The scarlet haired girl tilted her head as she regarded Shamanmon, taking in his words and thinking them over. While the others looked doubtful and ready to dismiss him.
"Even if he may be a fake, we still should be ready for Daemon to attack, he's kinda told us what we should already know." Amelia spoke but her mind lingered on the part about a friend being a foe.
Takuya and Tommy looked totally doubtful, not even wanting to pay any attention to him. Meredith took Amelia's words but that also made her doubt Shamanmon a little more because it was something they knew after all. She already barely believed in fortunetellers, so Shamanmon wasn't hard for her to discount. DemiVeemon who was Meredith's feet since he had wiggled his way out of her arms got curious and went over to Shamanmon before smiling and starting to dance. This caused Meredith and Amelia to both crack a small smile.
"I don't buy it." Tommy nodded his head at Takuya's words while Meredith crossed her arms, eyeing DemiVeemon as well to make sure he stayed safe.
"Then listen to this: the greatest test will be faced by you three!" Shamanmon jumped and landed in front of Takuya, Tommy and Meredith while the boys looked crept out and the girl's eyes widened.
"This test has the power to destroy you all if you're not careful. Heh!" Shamanmon turned after speaking and walked back to where he had stood originally.
"Hey, come back!" Tommy called out the words after Shamanmon.
"Yeah! We don't wanna get destroyed!" Takuya sounded worried as he spoke.
"Why am I involved in this?" Meredith asked the question, staring at Shamanmon.
"Now they want to believe him and have help." Amelia muttered the words but Koji smirked just a tad, giving hint that he heard her even though it seemed like no one else did.
Shamanmon turned back around as he started dance once again but DemiVeemon was still dancing and having fun. "Then remember who you are and trust each other and your friendship-"
An earthquake caused Shamanmon to fall onto his back. The temple started to shake violent and since it looked ready to tumble down the group was ready to get out. Meredith grabbed DemiVeemon before the group ran out of the temple yet Amelia glanced back, wondering if Shamanmon would be ok.
As the group exited the temple they were greeted by not only Daemon but a second Digimon. The second Digimon was big and made out of rock while it had a black mask.
"A foe or big friend?" Takuya spoke as he stared at Daemon and the rock Digimon.
"It's Golemon!" Bokomon nearly shouted the words out.
"Found you, I have a nice surprise for you little kids." Daemon laughed maliciously after he spoke.
"One of these days, I'm gonna beat this jerk for good." Koji spoke, sounding between angry and annoyed.
"When are you gonna learn? How about working with the rest of us, huh?" Not even a few seconds after Zoe's words Golemon jumped up.
"Oh, save me!" Neemon exclaimed as he hugged Bokomon.
"Just give me a minute." Takuya spoke as he stared at Golemon who was approaching them form the air – they barely jumped out of the way from Golemon's attack causing his fist to slam into the ground.
"Right, minute's over!" Takuya pulled out his D Tector as he stared Golemon down.
Meredith handed DemiVeemon over to Bokomon so she could free up her hands. With her hands free she pulled out her D-Tector. She wasn't alone in the act of pulling out her D-Tector though because Tommy, J.P. and Amelia also pulled their D-Tectors out.
"Execute! Spirit Evolution!"
"Agunimon!"
"Sakanamon!"
"Beetlemon!"
"Kumamon!"
"Legnamon!"
"Now for the Beast! Execute! Beast Spirit-" Koji's attempt at being different didn't work well for him.
"I must ask you reframe from doing that!" Daemon swept his hand out and some kind of black mist rushed out of his sleeve.
The black mist surrounded Koji and it was like it sapped his strength. Koji didn't seem to struggle and instead just dropped to his knees looking pale.
"What's going on?! I can't move!" Koji shouted but even his voice sounded on the weaker side.
"I don't feel like playing fetch with you so, sit there and be a good boy until I tell you to move." Daemon laughed as Koji did his best to glare at the demon.
"Crystal Freeze!" Kumamon's attack was dodged by Golemon jumping up before he was attacked back, punched from the air by Golemon.
"Kumamon! Thunder Fist!" Beetlemon's electrical based attack had no effect on Golemon, "Uh-oh!"
"Sulfur Plume!" Golemon had opened his mouth and the attack went at Beetlemon and Tommy.
"Still not able to do anything better than that?" Daemon laughed as he taunted the Warriors.
"We're not finished! Turquoise Rain!" Sakanamon called out and her attack actually hit Golemon and it started to weaken him.
"My turn! Pyro Tornado!" Even if Agunimon's attack sent Golemon back a bit it wasn't enough.
"Sulfer Plume!" The attack hit Agunimon and Sakanamon, sending back into Beetlemon and Kumamon.
As this was going on Zoe, Bokomon, Neemon, and DemiVeemon stood back away from the battle. They all looked terrified. Terrified and worried about what would happen to them.
"You can do it! Just work together!" Zoe called it out.
"If you surrender now I'll spare your lives, maybe." Daemon watched as the Warriors struggled to get up.
"Leaf Spiral!" The attack came from the surprisingly well camouflaged Legnamon but the attack didn't reach Daemon – even so it gave the other Warriors a chance to get to their feet.
"Sulfur Plume!" The attack went in the general direction of Legnamon which caused her to jump up to dodge the attack which dropped the camouflage she had managed somehow.
"Boy, would I like to shut that guy up!" Agunimon growled the words out.
"Yeah, me too!" Beetlemon glared at Daemon.
"There's gotta be something I can do!" Koji hit the ground, struggling and trying to move.
"Anybody got any suggestions?" Beetlemon asked his fellow Warriors.
As Beetlemon spoke Golemon jumped up again. Even if Golemon missed and only hit the ground it caused the ground to crack and Kumamon had to jump back to avoid falling down the crevasse that had been created.
"Yeah, work together!" Agunimon spoke and the nodded.
As Kumamon jumped up and readied his bazooka vines of wood shoot up out the ground, keeping Golemon from dodging the attacks that would come his way.
"I'll chill him out, Blizzard Blaster!" The condensed snowballs hit Golemon and didn't seem to do much damage really.
""Tempest Whirlpool!" Sakanamon butted in with her attack right after Kumamon but before Beetlemon could attack.
"Thunder Fist!' Beetlemon attacked it and seemed to actually do damage this time while it was amplified by the water that remained on Golemon from Sakanamon's attack.
"Pyro Tornado!" Agunimon's attack sent Golemon flying while wooden tendrils were burned and Legnamon twitched slightly.
"No!" Daemon flew up when he saw Golemon go down.
"Don't let him get away!" Agunimon shouted the words when he saw Daemon flying upwards.
"Evil Inferno!" Daemon's attack was the only reply that Agunimon got, a reply that made it obvious that Daemon had no intention of running away.
The Warriors jump away to dodge the attack that Daemon had sent their way. Kumamon though had a determined look. He raised his bazooka and took aim at Daemon who seemed to have his guard down at the moment.
"Blizzard Blaster!" The attack shot at Daemon but the demon laughed.
While Daemon did not say anything he went through the motions of his Hammer Knuckle attack and easily batted away the snow balls that came at him. The Warriors had landed and they were about to try another attack but something happened that they hadn't expected. Daemon's left arm seemed to have extended, reveal an almost sickly thin arm that had blue skin but the claw that it had was monstrous.
It all seemed to have happened in a matter of seconds – Daemon had used the moment of surprise to grab the closest Warrior which happened to be Kumamon. Kumamon was practically flung into the air. His shout of distress brought everyone back.
"Kumamon!" All of Kumamon's friends shouted while the Warriors tried to move but –
"Slasher Nail!" Daemon's giant claw that belonged to his left hand tore through Kumamon like he was paper and Kumamon's Spirit was left exposed.
- it was already too late.
When the Spirit was exposed it kicked Sakanamon in gear and jumped towards Kumamon – wanting to prevent what was about to happen. She though was beat out by Daemon who grabbed the Spirit and left Tommy to revert from Kumamon. While Sakanamon had managed to save the Spirit of Ice she did reach Tommy before he fell to the ground. She set him down gently.
"Get out of here, you guys!" Zoe yelled. In command, Tommy ran off, but Sakanamon stayed behind. Seeing Daemon taking Tommy's Spirit made her insides twist and coil. Her blood boiled just thinking about it.
Sakanamon glared menacingly at Daemon. "You've gone too far!" She charged at him. Kicks and punches were thrown at one another. The Warrior of Water flipped up and kicked him on the chin. Daemon stepped back with a flap of his wings. He touched his chin tenderly.
"You've fought well for a young child," Daemon commented, "but your attacks are feeble if you focus on countering them through anger! Flame Inferno!" he attacked with his hellfire.
Sakanamon easily dodged his attack, yet it was a distraction. "Double Dust!" Daemon punched the Warrior of Water repeatedly. Then, he added a punch to her stomach and a kick to her face. She fell on the ground.
She tried to push herself up, but Daemon's foot pushed her down. She weakly struggled, which made the Demon of Wrath grinned sadistically. "Oh, you poor child. Too weak to fight back? No worries. I'll make sure to take your Spirit as quick as possible. Think of it as ripping off a bandaid." he laughed.
Sakanamon only glared at him. "You won't win." she stated. "You'll be stopped."
"Oh really? Who then? Who will stop me?"
A flash of red collided into Daemon finally giving Sakanamon her space to move.
She looked up and saw a Digimon wearing a white helmet with red, black and yellow armor. It had a tail and orange bird wings. His fiery eyes focused intensely on his prey. He roared out loud. His roar rumbled the ground. It is the cry of his appearance.
Agunimon gaped. "What is that thing?"
"Uh, you mean other than bad news?" Beetlemon asked.
"Now just hold on, that thing may be on our side." Bokomon proclaimed.
"Ok, but, somehow I don't think so." Agunimon said.
Neemon said, "Whatever he is, he seems very upset."
Suddenly arms shot up out of the ground, wrapping around the mysterious Digimon's ankles. Golemon had disappeared but it was safe to assume that Golemon was the one that was now trying to pull the mysterious Digimon into the ground.
Daemon threw his fist, "Goodbye."
The Digimon didn't seem to care. It expanded the wings that it had and flapped them once before lifting into the air. It seemed to be a slight struggle but the Digimon lifted off of the ground and pulled Golemon out of the air. Golemon was hanging onto the Digimon's ankle so it wouldn't fall.
Beetlemon cried. "Quick, let's get out of here!"
Two weapons were on his arms and started firing flaming bullets on Golemon's head. Daemon looked in horror. Such fire power! He thought he crapped his pants. The attack was enough to knock Golemon off of the Digimon. Golemon hit the ground where he disintegrated. His mask was left behind but the dragon Digimon stepped on, smashing the mask with his foot.
The mystery Digimon charged Daemon who didn't like the idea of facing the Digimon – he hated to admit it but a part of him was actually almost afraid of the Digimon. He would never admit that out loud though.
Daemon cried as he expanded his wings.
"I'll be taking my leave now." Daemon tried to sound unaffected by what was going on.
"Ah, man." Agunimon spoke as he stared at what was going on.
"He's really strong." Tommy stared and he sounded a bit afraid.
Koji, who was free went towards Zoe and Tommy, "Too strong."
"If he comes after us, there's no way we can beat him." Zoe was fearful as she spoke.
"We should leave before it becomes that then." Legnamon took a step towards Tommy, Zoe, and Koji since at the moment they were more vulnerable to attacks and a little more defenseless than the others present – the mysterious Digimon may not be attacking them at the moment but there was no gurantee how long that would last.
"Right, time to go." Bokomon turned and started to push Zoe as he spoke, they didn't argue either and started to leave.
Well, nearly everyone started to leave. Agunimon and Sakanamon weren't moving. They were just standing there.
"Agunimon, Sakanamon, come on." Beetlemon looked back to them as he walked away.
"Yeah." Agunimon and Sakanamon responded in unison.
"Help me!" The Digimon spoke but it seemed to have been a struggle just to speak which caused Agunimon and Sakanamon to look back.
"I'm possessed by the Beast Spirit!" The voice of the mysterious Digimon struck a memory cord in Agunimon.
"Shamanmon?" Agunimon spoke the name a bit stunned.
"Please, rescue me!" Shamanmon was pleading now.
Agunimon stared but he could see, in his head, how things ended up happening and turning out this way as if he was Shamanmon – staring at the alter as it opened up to reveal one of the Spirits.
"I was in the temple when the Beast Spirit was revealed. The instant I touched it, I was possessed. Please help me!" The words from Shamanmon was almost heart wrenching.
"If he was shooting fire, it must be the Beast Spirit of Flame." Sakanamon was sure of that.
The Warrior of Water turned to Agunimon, "Takuya, get that Spirit, and make Daemon pay for what he did to Zoe and Tommy!" She told him, revenge clouding her mind.
Agunimon stared at Sakanamon because he had never seen her like that before. She wasn't acting like herself and that worried him.
Even worried Agunimon started to walk towards Shamanmon. He couldn't leave him suffering.
"Agunimon, what are you doing?" Beetlemon called back to Agunimon, watching him approach Shamanmon.
"Don't worry Shamanmon, I can help you." Agunimon was stopped when Shamanmon lost it.
Shamanmon went crazy once more like he had when had come out of the temple. Flames started to come from the joints of his armor and he starts to swing his tail and it was headed right for Agunimon. Agunimon had to jump out of the way of the flaming tail. The others looked on and they gasped at the sight before them.
"Agunimon!" Bokomon cries out in worry.
Shamanmon starts to fly upwards, getting ready to attack Agunimon. The guns on his arm turned to face Agunimon ready to attack but he was cut off. Sakanamon jumped in and kicked Shamanmon with both of her feet. Nothing was really done to Shamanmon, but it had provided enough time for Agunimon to recover.
"Pyro Tornado!" Agunimon sent his attack at Shamanmon.
"Tempest Whirlpool!" Sakanamon's attack hit Shamanmon after Agunimon's attack but neither attack even gave him a scratch.
Shamanmon decided it was his turn and before either of them had time to react they were being shot with rapid flaming bullets that came from the guns on his arms. The bullets hit Agunimon and Sakanamon, knocking them from there already short distance to the ground but made their landing rough. The others just stared in horror at what had happened before their eyes. Their horror was only made worse when Shamanmon flew towards Agunimon and pinned him down by using his foot.
'I was trying to help you...' Agunimon couldn't speak, so the words didn't make it out of his mouth and instead only echoed in his head.
The possessed Shamanmon raised his arms gun. They looked like they charged and was ready to shoot but suddenly there was a hesitation in the action.
"Strike now! Now!" Shamanmon spoke once more as it seemed like an invisible force was holding the possessed Digimon back.
"You heard him! Do it and get the Beast Spirit!" Sakanamon's words kicked Agunimon into action; he kicked the possessed Shamanmon and got ready to attack.
"Pyro Tornado!" Agunimon didn't stop his attack until Shamanmon was knocked out.
"Now to free Shamanmon." Agunimon pulled out his D-Tector as he spoke.
"And get some payback." Sakanamon spoke, and her words got her a worried glanced from Legnamon – even she was starting to see something strange about the Warrir of Water's behavior.
The Fractal Code showed and Agunimon started the process of scanning the Fractal Code, "My D-Tector should release him. Fractal Code, Digitize!"
Sakanamon watched as the Fractal Code was scanned.
'Finally, with that revenge can be taken.' Sakanamon's thoughts though were broken.
Something was wrong. Sakanamon had noticed it, finally. It seemed like the moment that Agunimon had scanned the Fractal Code there had been a shift. Red light consumed him and the next second, he screamed out in pain. Flames erupted from his very body. Everyone was screaming so most was unable to be deciphered but it was clear – they all knew something was wrong and Agunimon needed to get out of there and get out of Spirit Form. Yet it was too late – Agunimon emerged as the Beast Spirit.
"Takuya, what's the matter?" Sakanamon spoke, worried now as she stared at Takuya turned Beast Spirit.
Sakanamon froze for a second when Takuya turned to her. She hadn't expected to see glowing red eyes stare at her. In a matter of seconds he shifted and he was not charging at her. Sakanamon very narrowly dodged the attack, staring stunned at Takuya.
"Oh, no! Takuya! No!" Zoe screamed, nearly completely horrified from seeing what had just happened.
"It seems that the Beast Spirit, BurningGreymon, has possessed him." Bokomon spoke, sounding worried.
"This can't be happening. No way!" Sakanamon landed still in shock, unbelieving of what had just happened and that was shown by her words of disbelief.
BurningGreymon however shifted his glare elsewhere. His glare landed on Beetlemon who now seemed almost terrified.
"Takuya, it's me!" Beetlemon shifted, taking on an almost defensive stance as he stared at BurningGreymon.
BurningGreymon didn't seem to care about what Beetlemon had to say at all because he just charged at him.
"Take cover, everyone!" Bokomon shouted and that group started to run.
Legnamon didn't run away though and Koji stopped and just watched what was going down. Yet DemiVeemon glanced back, even if he was running and looking scared there was a different reason.
'Daddy…' The word crossed DemiVeemon's mind as he saw BurningGreymon punch Beetlemon.
"Takuya, that's JP!" Koji shouted and that proved to have been a stupid idea.
BurningGreymon's attention shifted from Beetlemon to Koji. In one beat of his wings the Beast of Flame flew towards Koji, and he barely had enough strength in his human body to jump away far enough away to dodge the attack.
"Hey." BurningGreymon turned his attention to Legnamon who below her mask had a very fearful face.
'If Koji gets hit without being Spirit Evolved, he's toast!' That thought repeated through Legnamon's head quite a few times – having been the thing that drove her to call attention from Koji to herself, even though she knew wood didn't match well against of fire.
"Fine! Execute! Beast Spirit Evolution! KendoGarurumon!" KendoGarurumon howled before he skated in a direction that wouldn't put the fleeing group in danger before growling.
BurningGreymon turned from Legnamon to KendoGarurumon, seeming to like that opponent better than Legnamon who was shaking a little.
"You guys, this is crazy! Think about what you're doing!" Beetlemon shouted as he looked on at what was going on – everyone was looking worriedly at the sight before them.
"Koji, Takuya, stop this!" Beetlemon addressed them both as he almost stood in between the two.
Sakanamon couldn't move even if she tried to but she did manage to speak, "Dude, what have I done to you?"
All that came as a response was BurningGreymon letting out a roar.

Thank you, Kamen Rider Heisei, for creating a Warrior of Earth.
