Muv Luv Total Eclipse: The Iron Curtain - Preview 2
In a dimly-lit room with a single table, Turkish 1st Lt. Ibrahim Doğulu puts a collection of documents down on the table. Another person, presumably a high ranked official walks over to the table and proceeds to look over the documents before speaking.
"So, who've we got in this penal unit?" the official asked.
"There are four of them. The first one we got is a former British Lieutenant. Charles Barker. He rose through the ranks to become a Lieutenant after leading a successful campaign to drive the BETA out of Britain. Unfortunately, He was convicted of selling military weapons on the black market. He has a particularly violent streak, so he's definitely one we need to look out for on the field. His Penal Rank is two strikes. And as you know, the number of strikes you have depends on how severe the crime is." Ibrahim explained, all while showing moments of Charles either piloting a TSF like a madman or him assaulting officials and being sent into solitary confinement.
"Who's the next one?" the official asked again.
"Lucy Zhao, a Chinese-American former cadet. She was convicted of assaulting a Soviet official during a diplomatic visit. Some sources say the Soviet official was out of line, but in the end, she was convicted for assault. She and her family grew up in poverty and her parents were murdered when she was young. She's known for being...pretty damn aggressive out in the field and sparing no mercy for any BETA or Enemy TSF stupid enough to oppose her. Her Penal Rank is one strike." Ibrahim explained as moments of what he describes play out.
"One strike?" the official asked, his expression puzzled.
"It was a contested ruling. Some in the jury said she was being harrassed by the Soviet official, but...like I said, in the end, she was convicted of assault." Ibrahim explained plainly.
"Alright, who's the next one?" the official asked once more.
"Camilla Nilson. A former Norwegian Corporal. She was convicted of murdering a foreign official by using her TSF to blow up his office...with a missle. She killed over 9 people and injured dozens of others. She claimed it was revenge for the Norwegian government allowing her wife to be eaten by the BETA. Her Penal Rank is two strikes. Contested ruling, because her lawyer argued that the system failed her...and because socialist courts are weird." Ibrahim explained.
"Oookay?...And the last one?" the official inquired.
"This one is...this one is a unique case. His name is classified information. Basically, it's illegal to even say his name. So people started calling him "Maverick". He was a promising pilot coming up through the ranks. Then, during a mission to extract former president, Michael Locke from a BETA attack, his TSF fired a missile and destroyed the helicopter he was in, killing him. He was convicted of murdering the former president and was sent to this penal unit. His Penal Rank is three strikes. The most severe of all. This guy is a dangerous criminal and he should be kept on a tight leash." Ibrahim explained, all while moments of what he describes play out...with Maverick's face being censored for his mugshot.
"...Alright, I'm placing you in charge of this unit." the official said, much to the shock and anger of Ibrahim.
"Wait, what?! You're placing me in charge of the convicts?!" Ibrahim demanded.
"I want you to mold them into a capable fighting unit...use this as a promise for their freedom. From this day on, they'll be called...The Dust Squadron. 'Cus they can be swept away at no extra cost to us." the official said before walking out the door, leaving behind a dumbfounded Ibrahim.
