Chapter 16

-oOo-

April 8, 1997

Port Isaac, Cornwall

Harry slowly came to consciousness as something wet and warm gently sucked and slid down his cock. Harry let out a groan as he felt her throat. She had woken him a few times like this... Harry had to admit he wasn't sure having her climb on him or having her suck him off in the morning was his favourite. About once a week she woke him that way.

As Lavender bobbed her head, her nose just about touching his shaved crotch, he let out a sharp breath each time. They had both decided to try shaving their crotches and Harry found he preferred it. Lavender wasn't complaining either. Her eyes caught his and he thought he saw her smile around his cock as she tried to push her nose all the way down. Harry groaned, feeling himself getting closer.

Lavender pulled up and started to run her tongue around his head as she bobbed enough to get her lips going up and over the rim of his head. Like always, his eyes just about rolled up into his head. He had to admit that was his favourite type of blowjob.

He felt her tongue tease the hole at the tip and after a few seconds, he lost it. He couldn't keep himself from thrusting into her mouth and she took it. He felt his warm seamen as she swished her tongue around. He moaned as she kept it up, even after he stopped pumping into her mouth.

He wasn't sure how long she kept it up, but when she stopped, his body felt boneless.

"Good morning, luv," Lavender said, her voice sounding sultry and a little smug.

Harry just chuckled. "Bloody hell, Lav," he got out and she moved up his body, the Quidditch shirt rubbing against his bare chest as her breast settled over his.

Lavender had a smirk that had him already hardening again. "I thought it fair after you used your tongue last night," she said, giving him a kiss.

"Give me a moment and I can show you another good time," he told her. Three months of marriage had pretty much burned away any shyness he might have felt about their bodies or sex.

Lavender it her lip, which just sent more blood to his nether region. "I want to, but I think we should wait until later today."

Harry looked at her questioningly. She almost never said no when it looked like that. Though, as he asked his question, the need for him dropped a little. "Why?"

She started to look a little nervous. "You know how Parvati teases us about being rabbits?"

"Yeah. She isn't much better at times," he replied.

"Oh, my best friend is a slag, but she doesn't have sex nearly as much as we do," Lavender said with a grin.

"I'm telling her that when she comes over for dinner tomorrow," he said with a laugh as she just giggled.

"I tell her that all the time. Stop distracting me," she chastised him.

"Fine. So, we are rabbits?" he put to her.

She gave a lascivious smirk, then became more serious. "What happens when rabbits are rabbits?"

Harry searched her expressive hazel eyes for a moment before he had a swooping feeling. There was a sense of fear, then a sense of wonder, excitement, then more fear. "Are you saying?"

"Before we left, I went to Madam Pomfrey. When I went out with my mum yesterday, we went to St. Mungo's," Lavender told him.

"Why didn't you take me or tell me?" he asked, not sure if he felt left out or not.

She dipped her head to kiss him. "I know how much you want a family, and I didn't want to get your hopes up if I wasn't."

He waited. "Are you?"

"About six weeks, the Healer said," she told him.

He could see the fear in her eyes, as well as her excitement. It was like she was waiting for his reaction.

Harry pulled her down. "This is brilliant," he assured her, before kissing her.

Lavender was smiling when she pushed up. "You really think so?"

"Lavender Potter, I love you and will love any child you give me," he told her.

Her smile was broader, before she giggled. Harry really liked how she giggled and laughed. "Well, daddy, I have another surprise."

"And that is?"

"You are going to have either a brother-in-law or sister-in-law" she told him.

His smile grew. Harry really loved having Charlie and Rebecca as his in-laws. "Wicked," he said.

There was a soft knock at the door. "What is it, Itsy?"

The door to their room opened a little. "Would master and mistress like breakfast in bed or in the kitchen?"

"In the kitchen, Itsy. Harry and I need to head to my mum's in a short bit," Lavender said.

Harry looked at the clock. "Is that why you got me up at just after seven?"

"I rescheduled everyone to come over tomorrow night. We are having dinner at the Weasley's so they can tell everyone there, and mum wanted to give you another lesson this morning. She is determined you will be the next Weird Sister or something," Lavender said, then laughed as he tickled her. "HARRY!"

He laughed. "It's your fault she put a guitar in my hands the other day."

Lavender flopped on the bed next to him. "You can play to your daughter," she countered.

He raised an eyebrow. That suggestion had a certain appeal. "I can play for my wife too. A girl?"

She shrugged. "Maybe. It's only been girl names that have gone through my head the last few days."

"Like what?"

"Tamara. Renee. Lily or Lilith. If you want your mum's name used. Or we can go more traditional, like Esmeralda?"

Harry smiled. "I love my mum, but I think our daughter should have her own name. I don't want her being compared to someone that none of us will ever know."

Lavender gave him a sympathetic smile. "I'm sorry, Harry. I just thought it would be sweet."

He rolled over to peck her. "It is. I've been compared to my parents so much, but I really don't know what they were really like. If we have a daughter, she should be her own person. I am sure of one thing." He put his hand over her belly. Lavender put both her hands over his.

"What is that?"

"She will be just as beautiful as her mother," he told her.

"As long as she had your green eyes, you will have to beat the boys off with a stick," she said, laughing at his expression.

After a moment, Harry put to her, "Does this mean we have to stop being rabbits?"

"Merlin, no!" Lavender exclaimed. "The Healer said we don't need to stop, and that I might be even hornier at points."

Harry wagged his eyebrows. "So, what is beyond rabbits?"

Lavender laughed and playfully hit his arm.

When they took the Floo to the Burrow from the Leaky Cauldron, Harry had to catch Lavender as she stumbled out. Dibby had taken them to her mum and Charlie's apartment earlier. They had pretty much been apparating them everywhere this week. Lavender didn't seem to have any issues with that, but she had just barely stood straight before her hand went to her mouth and she rushed for the stairs and the bathroom.

Harry followed her, giving Molly a sorry look when she went to greet him. Fred and George were there with Angelina and Yvonne Maddox, a curvy brunette that was a year or two older than Fred. The dinner was a slightly impromptu thing, and a rehearsal dinner was going to happen Friday night and they were going to be married Sunday.

Harry helped to hold Lavender's hair as she threw up. When she was done, Lavender commented, "The Floo never made me feel sick before."

"We'll call Itzy or Dibby when we go home," he told her.

Going back to the kitchen, Molly intercepted them. "Are you alright dear?" she asked concerned. "You can go lay down on the couch, or bed upstairs, if you need."

"I'm fine, Molly," Lavender told her.

The look Molly gave her was rather speculative. "You know, I had some issues with the Floo when I was pregnant with Bill and Fred and George."

Lavender's eyes went wide, while Harry stood stock still. "We were going to tell everyone later," Lavender whispered.

Molly gave a yell of delight, then took Lavender into a hug. By now, Fleur and Bill had arrived. Rebecca and Charlie were talking with them, Ginny was at the table talking with her father, and Susan was laughing at the twins while Ron leaned against the wall. Hermione was supposed to be over soon. At Molly's excited scream, everyone turned to them.

"Our first grandchild!" Molly exclaimed.

Harry felt his face heat as they all looked to him, then Lavender. Molly let go of Lavender and then hugged Harry. "If you need anything, please ask," Molly said into his ear. "You are both so young still."

"Thanks, Molly," he said, hugging her back.

There were a few cries of delight before they were both being hugged, or hands shaken. When Ginny hugged him, she said, "Congratulations. I think you will be a great dad. I want to be the fun aunt though." When it partially quieted down, Charlie made a big whistle. "Well, since we got beat to it, I don't think Harry and Lavender will be the first to give you a grandchild, mum. Rebecca is due a month earlier."

Molly screamed again in delight, but before she could make it through the crowd, Bill spoke over the growing noise. "Well, looks like they will have a cousin too." Fleur beamed and Harry found he loved the chaos.

Lavender would be due towards the end of November. Rebecca was the end of October, while Fleur was due about mid-October. Once the commotion started to die down, Arthur took out some fire whiskey as the twins offered to set up some fireworks for later. As it was handed out to everyone not pregnant, including Ginny, Harry noticed that Mrs. Weasley was only drinking a glass of water.

Arthur held up his glass. "I would like to congratulate you all. Molly and I are happy to see our family grow. If you ever need some help, or a babysitter, I am sure we will be happy to help. It will be nice to have all our grandchildren growing up with our eight kids," he said. There was a certain sadness and joy in his voice.

Fred looked at his father. "Dad, you only had seven of us."

"Well, six now, but who's counting," George said, trying to force the joke.

Molly's eyes glistened a little.

"Maybe I should count again," Arthur said with a smirk, counting all his children, including Harry, then said, "Ten of you."

"I think he's going barmy," Fred said.

"Completely cracked," George agreed. "OI! Woman!"

Angelina had just hit him in the back of his head. "Your mum is pregnant, you dolt."

This got a laugh and then they were congratulating Molly before downing their drinks.

"I still don't know why dad said ten," Ginny replied.

"Twins," Lavender had sussed it out.

"Right in one," Arthur said with a big grin. "They will be due in August."

Fred and George got huge grins while most others looked a little dubious. "Are you thinking what I am thinking?" Fred asked.

Bill whacked a grinning George off the back of his head. "Corrupt your own kids."

Everyone laughed at them. Hermione entered the room through the Floo, totally unsure about the festive air. Looking around, Fred answered her questioning look. "Seems like everyone else is pregnant. You have anything you want us to know?"

Hermione turned a brilliant shade of red. "I... what?"

The twins got a good laugh before Harry pulled her over to tell her the good news.

May 14, 1997

London, England

"I'm glad you could all make it today," Amelia said to the council. "I want to start today with any reports that are urgent."

Head Williams spoke up, "I have some grave news to report. There was a minor breakout at Azkaban yesterday. One cell block, fourteen prisoners, managed to bribe a guard to let them out. Somehow four of them had gotten wands. There was a fight. Two prisoners were killed and six managed to make it into the sea. We have managed to recover four bodies that either washed up on the shore or were found floating in the water this morning."

Amelia had been briefed on it, but the wider public and the Wizengamot did not know about this yet.

"Who was it?" Lord Chang queried.

"It was a lower security ward housing people that had violated the proliferation laws or were juvenile offenders. The dead included Draco Malfoy, Theodore Nott, Evan Rosier, Thomas Burke, Reginald Catswallow and Benjamin Daynard," Head Williams said.

There was a general stir among the attendees, but no great upwelling for the young men. Amelia certainly didn't mourn the loss of most of them, not after knowing their fathers and the crimes they had committed.

"That puts an end to three lines of the Twenty-eight and three other old Houses," Roberta said, sounding sad at the loss of old blood, but not as much for the young men. The woman had been very upset after the betrothal was broken between Malfoy and her daughter, then not as much after the rape of Astoria Greengrass had been found and outed at his trial.

"That only leaves six, with only two of them extant in the male line," Lady Exeter said.

"Black and Longbottom," Roberta confirmed, "with Potter being the dominant line. I know the Proliferation Covenant requires Potter to have a child for each line, but it does not require them to give the child the last name."

"I don't think that is our decision. The point of this is not to carry on names and bloodlines," Unspeakable Number Two stated. "The covenant is designed to ensure the magical population stays at viable levels. Technically the young man is responsible for three lines, if I am not mistaken."

He looked towards Unspeakable Three. "More if he wanted to claim any of his ancestry. The covenant allows for extinct names to be reborn. There are a few families like that. The Longbottoms can revive three other houses, but I think they will stick with only Longbottom and Abbott. Or the Weasleys. They have a few old lines that could be reclaimed."

"Whether that occurs or not," Amelia said, wanting to end this particular discussion. She knew the Bones would go on now, something she found she really cared for now, but to her that really wasn't the important point. "That is up to the people and Houses that it concerns. If you want to put out literature letting people know, that is fine, but in no way are you to imply that the Ministry is seeking such an outcome. Understood?"

Roberta nodded her head.

"Any other urgent topics?" She looked around the table.

"I want to announce that we have the first confirmed pregnancies at Hogwarts," Poppy said. This garnered some attention. "Three couples are confirmed. Two of them will be graduating this year, and one is expecting later in the fall term next year."

"That is good news," Lord Garrow said.

"I still do not support children having children," Poppy said back. "They are all healthy, and I expect that a few more will be pregnant by the Fall term."

"How many are married now?" Lord Chang asked. His daughter had been married over Easter.

"Fifteen. Twelve were married over Easter. There will be thirty-three come September first," Minerva answered.

"I will give you all the support you need, Headmistress," Amelia confirmed. "How many other pregnancies are their?"

"Two-hundred and eighty-four," Unspeakable number one stated. "I expect to see almost a thousand by end of summer. Over the next year it will be the most magical births in a year in over a century."

"So, this will work?" Lady Exeter asked.

"There is a high probability, but we have to reach three times the population of where we were when the covenant activated, and we do not expect another large influx like this again. The birth rates will remain high, but it will probably be two to four hundred births per year for a long time, increasing over time. We will have to get to a steady population of more than fifty thousand before the covenant will go back into hibernation.," Unspeakable Number four stated.

"So, you are still thinking it will take eighty years or more to reach that point," Amelia asked.

"Most likely." Unspeakable Number Three agreed.

"It is possible it may not take that long if more Muggleborn stay," Roberta spoke up.

"Yes, at the Summer Solstice the first of the new laws will be voted on. As you requested, Minister, all non-voted Ministry positions will be open to merit only. It will put a hiring freeze into effect for the next two years, only allowing you to replace people should they leave. We are also going to vote on the reorganization that will reduce Ministry staff by about fifteen percent, with allowances to increase again as the population and taxes grow," Lord Garrow told her.

"This will cause quite a stir, but we have ensured that there are jobs available. We have reached out to all those in Diagon Alley, St. Mungo's, Hogwarts, Hogsmeade and the large family businesses. They will be able to absorb about two hundred people, and your reorganization puts about a hundred and twelve out on the streets," Lord Chang said.

"That still leaves open jobs, unless I am mistaken about how many are graduating from Hogwarts," Augusta spoke up.

"It does. We are hoping that means some of those that left will come back. I expect to see some workforce reductions in the coming years as more children are born," Lord Chang responded.

"And what about creature and half-human rights," Amelia asked.

"The committee is still out on that. We are finding that to change some of the laws we need to renegotiate with the goblins, centaurs and merfolk. I think we will have a workable deal by the fall, but any big changes will have to come at either the Winter Solstice or Spring Equinox," Augusta said.

Amelia nodded. "Are there any major blocking points that I can help with?"

"Besides the little devils wanting to use wands?" Lady Exeter put in.

"They are not asking to use wands unless their progeny is part human. The goblins are asking to use magical foci though, like they did about a thousand years ago," Augusta said back coolly.

"Is there a danger if they do?" Amelia asked.

"Some of the greatest structures and wards were produced by goblins working with wizards before the goblins wars of eleven-seventy-two. Those treaties made goblins give up their magical foci," Unspeakable Number Two informed them.

"The Unspeakables support this change. Muggle technology is not far from the point that they may be able to detect magic. It may become imperative to hide ourselves better, or integrate into the Muggle world," Unspeakable Number One added.

"You know the Covenants will not allow that. They require magical blood to remain undiluted for a certain number of generations and the international statute of Secrecy is tantamount to our survival," Unspeakable Number Four said.

Lord Garrow scoffed. "You are telling me that Muggles threaten us?"

"Definitely," Unspeakable Number One stated.

"I have spent some time in the Muggle world," a voice that didn't usually speak came from the far end of the table. They all turned to Lord Westford. "I have seen what they are capable of. There are wonders, like automobiles, aeroplanes that can carry hundreds of them across the ocean in hours, ships that are larger than Diagon Alley with thousands of Muggles on them. In every home there are communication devices that allow them to talk across the world and see images from anywhere. I have also seen what they can do. Weapons that kill by shooting hundreds of bullets in seconds. Cannons so advanced that they would punch through wards in moments. I was once an Unspeakable and researched this. The worst is a what they call a bomb. They drop out of the sky. Silent as a Lethifold with the destructive power greater than the Dark Lord and all his followers firing blasting hexes at the same time. One type of their bombs could level most of London with a single bomb in a matter of seconds."

Amelia knew what Lord Westford was talking about. She still couldn't believe it, but the Unspeakables briefed her on all this when she became Minister.

"What are you saying?" Lady Exeter asked, looking shaken.

"I think that we need to do both. Find ways to integrate the current technology into our society so that Muggleborn and Half-bloods stay, but at the same time we need to find better ways to hide. If working with the goblins gets us that, then we protect each other. I think most goblins know about the Muggles, and that is why there have been no revolts in over a hundred and fifty years and why they work with us now."

Everyone was quiet for a few. "Lord Westford, could I ask you to work with Head Arthur Weasley? He is going to head up the new Muggle Integration and Protection department. I think your knowledge will be invaluable."

"I have my own family business to run," he stated.

"As an advisor? I think we will need it," she told him.

"I will double my efforts to get a new treaty to your office and the Wizengamot within the next month," Augusta said, looking as shaken as many around the table. The man was not being disbelieved, like he would have been this time last year.

After a moment of silence, Amelia stated, "I will not go over the budget today. There is a hearing on it next week and I think we are good on all other points. Unless there is anything else, I will see all of you again in two weeks."

June 23, 1997

Godric's Hollow, England

Harry took in a deep breath as he stood at the gates to the graveyard. It had been a year since that night, and it was the first time he could bring himself to come back here since Sirius and Remus had been lain to rest next to his parents.

Lavender held his hand as he looked down at the gravestones.

Almost a year ago was the first time he had been to his parents' grave. He still wasn't sure what the inscription meant, "The last enemy to be defeated is Death."

Harry felt it very significant but didn't know why.

To the right of the graves was 'Sirius Orion Black: The truest friend to the end."

'Remus John Lupin: A gentler soul one could not ask for.', was on the next stone.

Harry felt tears starting to well in his eyes. Lavender moved in closer. "You know you have family now?"

He nodded. A sniff came from behind him. He turned to see a woman he had only met twice now. She had the lines of the aristocratic blacks, with grey eyes and chestnut hair. "I didn't mean to interrupt you," the woman said.

Harry moved to the side, to stand before his parents. "Please. I know Sirius was your cousin."

The woman nodded. She had flowers in her hands and placed them on the ground as she crouched. She put a hand on the grave. Harry and Lavender watched her for a moment before Harry turned to his parents. "Hey, mum. Hey, dad," he said, his throat feeling sore. He found it hard to say anything.

Lavender squeezed his hand before crouching down and putting a hand on the gravestone. "Hi, Mr. and Mrs. Potter. I'm not sure if you know or not, but I married your son. He's a really nice and good man. I know Harry would really like to have you around, especially once your first grandchild is born. I promise to take care of him. I just wanted to say thank you."

Harry gave her a sad smile as he helped her up. Lavender now had a small bump, that she put a hand over. "Thanks," he said, still unable to really say anything.

"Mr. and Mrs. Potter?" the woman said.

"Yes, Mrs. Tonks?" Harry answered.

Now that Harry looked, he could see she had a small bump as well. Many women they met of pureblood descent were now in the same condition. "I just wanted to say congratulations. I only ever met your parents a few times, but they were good people. I wish you could have gotten to know them, or my cousin better."

"Sirius was a good man. I wished I got to know him better as well," Harry replied.

"I really liked Professor Lupin," Lavender commented.

The woman nodded. "A closer group of friends I had never met. James was the one that brought them all together. Sirius loved the man. He loved you. I never believed he betrayed you, but I could never get a trial. I'm glad you got to know him some and he went out doing what he loved, protecting his family."

Harry felt a tear run down his cheek. The raw feeling in his throat tightened.

Lavender wrapped her arms around his midsection. "Thank you, Mrs. Tonks. From what I hear, he was a good man."

Mrs. Tonks nodded her head. "He was. Congratulations. I'll see you next year," she said, turning to walk away. The woman stopped, turned and swiped her wand. Flowers fell before Remus and his parents' graves. With a nod, she walked away.

Harry wiped the tears from his cheeks. He shouldn't cry.

Lavender tightened her hold on him. "I love you."

"I love you too," he replied. They stood vigil for a little while longer before he called for Itsy.

June 30, 1997

Port Isaac, Cornwall

Lavender was happy that she didn't start her morning in the bathroom. It didn't happen every day, but enough. It wasn't fair that her mum didn't suffer morning sickness, but she felt bad for Fleur. At a welcome back dinner last weekend, she had found out the poor woman was in the bathroom almost every morning for the last two months.

Coming out to the back lawn, it was a rare sunny morning. Since they had gotten back, it had rained almost every day. Harry had set up a table and Itsy was just putting out some fruit and some scrambled eggs onto some toasted muffins. It was about the only thing she could keep down most mornings.

Harry was just looking out towards the ocean, and more clouds on the horizon. He turned to her as she sat across from him. "I didn't realize you were up," he told her. With a smile he said, "Happy Birthday."

She smiled back. "Thank you. This is not where I thought I would be when I turn seventeen."

"Would you like to go somewhere else?" Harry asked with his cheeky grin that she always found attractive.

"Berk, not what I meant, and you know it," she said back with her own grin.

Harry shrugged. "Is there anything you would like to do today?"

"Besides keep my breakfast down?" she asked.

"Besides that. Itsy made what she could," he replied.

She dug into the food. Lavender definitely found herself hungrier than normal. About the time she was done eating, Harry put two small boxes on the table with a card. "Happy birthday."

Taking up the card, she was pleased to see it was sweet and Harry did his best to make it more so. She had to get up and kiss him, before sitting on his lap. Harry wrapped his arms around her and kissed her shoulder. Lavender opened the box to find a bracelet that matched her engagement ring. It was gold with rubies and a Potter crest on it.

"Oh, can you put it on?" she asked.

Harry took it out and when he clasped it, she leaned over and gave him a rather deep kiss. When he pulled away, she playfully bit his lip, not wanting to separate. "You have another box," he told her.

"It's my birthday and I want to kiss my totally sweet and hot husband," she told him. Harry didn't complain as she licked his lips as they came close again. His hands started to rub her side and she moaned when his hand moved to her breasts. Some days they were a little painful, others more sensitive. Today was a sensitive day, causing her body to shiver as he gently kneaded her breasts. Some of the joys of being pregnant.

When she pulled away, she whimpered a little when he stopped paying attention to her breasts. "That felt good," she told him.

Harry chuckled. "Open the other one," he told her.

"Fine," she said over dramatically reaching for the box. When she opened it, she couldn't stop the tears. "Damned hormones," she muttered. In the box was another bracelet. This one had moonstones and the crest of the House of Brown.

"I want to make the Browns the second line," Harry told her. She turned to look at him, her eyes a little wide. Harry went on. "I opened a few letters that Sirius left for me that I just couldn't open last year. He really doesn't care if the Blacks go on and our contract didn't specify which Houses had to go on in which order..."

Harry didn't get to say anything more as she threw her arms around his neck, her mouth clamping over his. It wasn't long before her hands were pulling his shirt up. Harry ran his hands under hers. She moved to straddle his lap. It was a close fit in the chair, but she didn't care. The baby didn't allow her to press herself as tight as she wanted, but she knew she wanted her husband. Harry picked her up and placed her arse on the table. "Get this off," she ordered, trying to pull his shirt over his head.

"I can carry you inside," Harry offered, taking his shirt off. She struggled to get her knickers off from under her skirt.

"I just want you to take me, Harry," she told him, pulling him back in and claiming his mouth. Her hands roamed his chest as he dropped his pants and entered her. Lavender wrapped her legs around him.

When they were done, Harry picked her up and she cuddled into his lap. "Thank you," she said, pecking his lips.

"Happy birthday," he told her. "There are a few more surprises today."

"Unless they involve you and me in bed, I don't care," she told him.

Harry chuckled. "Well, that might be a little awkward when everyone comes over for dinner."

She kissed him in a slow languid way. "I love you."

"I love you too," Harry replied.
