CHAPTER 13.3: TECHNODROME (PART 3)
NEW YORK CITY
New York City is in ruins after the upgraded Technodrome launched a surprise attack and destroyed all bridges, preventing citizens from escaping. Despite the Technodrome leaving to invade other cities, the Kraang, Kraathatrogon, and Dimension X creatures, led by Captain Traag and Sergeant Granitor, search for survivors in New York City. Each group sends tracking probe drones to scan the buildings to look for survivors hiding inside. Then uses normal mutagen to turn them into mutants.
NEW YORK'S SEWER
Bloodsucker's rampage increasingly disperses the aliens and mutants hiding in the safe area. But are also upset about the destruction of Undertown and the deaths of those who once lived here.
"I'm sorry for your loss. Your daughter's death will not be in vain." Old Hob calmly placed his hand on the alien couple after the loss of their daughter.
Then Old Hob turns his attention towards Man Ray and Sally Pride. "We have to move fast." He said.
"Sir! We got lots of little leeches popping out around the area. They might know we're here!" Herman shouted while he knocked one of the leeches off his head like a fly.
"There is still one person that could guide us to protect all mutants." Old Hob thought. Then he turned to the crowd of aliens and mutants. "People, carrying on finding the exit. The Mutanimals would catch up with you all if we survived." He ordered, and he walked quickly towards the ladder.
"What for?" Sally asked, confused.
"To find us a hint." Man Ray replied, and he, along with Herman and Sally Pride, followed. However, the crowd of aliens and mutants was about to walk away. Groundchuck and Dirtbag run toward the Mutanimals.
"Wait up! We're coming with you!" Said Groundchuck.
"They trashed our home! So let's strike back!" Dirtbag replied.
"Granted." Herman agreed, and the Mutanimals, along with Groundchuck & Dirtbag, climbed out of the sewer.
SAN FRANCISCO
Continuing in its tank mode, the upgraded Technodrome fires energy blasts at the surrounding city and even destroys the Golden Gate Bridge with a giant laser beam.
A group of Kraangdroids led by Kraang Prime keeps on shooting at the Titan Tower until it collapses onto the sea after being badly damaged by so many laser shots.
"Now… All groups move over to that Pyramid tower and make sure no escapees in this city survive while we turn the rest into mutants!" Kraang Prime ordered the whole army, and they were ready to attack Transamerica Pyramid.
"Not yet; your army should move away from the city now! The Technodrome has already finished its firework setup and sent it away." Kraang Subprime said on the radio, which made all of the Kraang teleport away from San Francisco.
As the Upgraded Technodrome transforms into air mode, it hovers over San Francisco further. Then, a fusion laser beam is fired downward from the war machine's bottom part.
*PKOW*
*KABOOM*
A fusion laser hits the ground, creating a giant explosion wave that kills everyone caught in the fire and ruins many San Francisco buildings and cars.
WATCHTOWER
Martian Manhunter on monitor duty is horrified to see lots of city destruction caused by the upgraded Technodrome and the Kraang's army on each computer screen. He then looks out the window and sees a lot of explosions around the Earth.
A few minutes later, Martian Manhunter went to the other room and met up with some of the Justice League, Titans, TMNT, and Justice Society, all mourning after their devastating defeat by Kraang's mighty robot: Chrome Dome, and even witnessing the loss of Aztek, Crimson Fox, Magog, Bloodwynd, and Ray.
Some superheroes were in the medical room, healed after being badly injured by the upgraded Chrome Dome and the Technodrome's laser attack.
"There, you're going to be fine now." Lucky Girl finished using her healing spell on Atom Smasher.
"Thanks, Gwen." Said Atom Smasher, and he walked out of the medical room. Lucky Girl walks to Zatanna and uses the spell to heal her. Even though she's upset, the Kraang destroyed her family's villa.
When Rook finished looking out of the medical room doorway, he noticed in front of him was Arrowette sitting down on the chair sobbing. So Rook decided to sit down next to her.
"Are you okay, Cissie?" Rook asked.
Arrowette turned to Rook with tears in her eyes. "I'm not okay. This is all my fault! If we hadn't first come up with the idea to expose Kraang Subprime, the invasion wouldn't have started early, and five of our teammates would still be alive!" Arrowette says, while still traumatized. She throws her bow away and carries on crying. "I don't deserve to be a hero…"
Rook is still silent; after a few seconds, he finally speaks. "I know what it feels like, I was infected by that fear gas a few months ago, but I didn't give up. Trust me, you'll feel worse if you give up fighting. There's a lot of people who are still counting on us, even your mentor." He was referring to Green Arrow as Arrowette's mentor.
Rook picks up Arrowette's bow. "Can I still trust you to have my back?" He said, giving her a bow back. His words have given Arrowette a small smile.
Then she and Rook slowly leaned their heads towards each other, looking like they were about to kiss, but they heard a voice.
"Cissie, I-" Said the arriving and worried Green Arrow, which turned their attention to him. "Uhh… Feeling better already?" He asked.
"Uhmm… Yeah!" Arrowette replied and stood from the chair and walked off.
"I guess I won't ask Canary for counseling." Green Arrow smirks, and Rook agrees.
BURNOW ISLAND/KRAANG'S SECRET BASE, ATLANTIC OCEAN
After the Legion of Doom destroyed some of the bases around Burnow Island, the Kraang forces activated a shield barrier to prevent intruders from breaking in. Even Klarion's magic was unable to break in. Inside the surviving bases, Kraang Subprime, inside his Tetsu-Oni android body, enters the lab to see Lucy Mann. She's trapped inside the chamber while being tortured by the cold temperatures machine, freezing her.
"Just visiting… to see one of those Lenopan creatures for the first time in so many years that we went through." Kraang Subprime said, looking down at Lucy Mann, and she slowly woke up.
"You… don't know anything about the type of mutants I am from," Lucy speaks out but freezing.
But the Kraang Subprime did not believe any of her lies. "Do you think there are mutants like the Lenopan firstborn in any meteor? We already found out it first appeared around this planet randomly as inanimate sludge until they were all mutated by our mutagen blast test years ago. Then the Earth's government banished them with their rocket ship. It is a shame that during our ingredient search for the special mutagen, the Triceratons had to exterminate all Sludgepuppies after they took you away, so we could not find any Lenopan in hiding until now."
Lucy Mann was still lying down, with tears in her eyes from hearing Kraang Subprime's explanation; about her people being regular sludge on Earth before their mutation. She was now the last of her kind native to Earth.
"It's good that your one-eyed cat boss didn't treat you that cruelly. Bet the whole Mutanimals' team came here late to see you becoming a statue and realized that aliens can harm mutants as well, including when mutants face each other." Kraang Subprime smirked as begins to walk out of the room. "The Kraangs know everyone around the universe… including super-identities. It's nice knowing you, earth sludge."
While one of the Kraangdroids gave Subprime the Lenopan sludge goo on the tube, the Rock Soldier raised the liver to switch the chamber temperature machine to high. Lucy is now boiling. Kraang Subprime entered the teleportation room and beamed back to the upgraded Technodrome.
INSIDE THE TECHNODROME
After returning to the Technodrome while it invaded Paris, France, Kraang Subprime enters the shockwave charger generator in his Tetsu-Oni android body. Then he fills the Lenopan's goo onto the special mutagen. Chrome Dome, Kraang Prime, even the hologram of Bloodsucker, Captain Traag, and Sergeant Granitor watched as Subprime placed the mutagen onto the shockwave generator.
"It would take time for the entire shockwave to charge up, so we can rule the entire universe." Said Kraang Subprime in an excited tone.
"Despite the issues with those Legion of Doom, we are finally approaching our finished goal. Thanks to your Technodrome idea, Subprime. We will resume creating more mutant armies and eliminate all forces, including superheroes worldwide. At the same time, we let the shockwave charge." Said Kraang Prime proudly.
"According to Chrome Dome sight data. Most superheroes have escaped New York City with fourteen Legion of Doom and some Foot Clan members." Said the upgraded Chrome Dome.
"Chrome Dome did a good job remembering Shredder is a member of both traitors' teams since all of the superheroes seem to be hiding from stopping us from whipping out their Earth people, including some who care about each of them. At the same time, while we were waiting for the shockwave, we'll continue to hunt down all villains to get what they deserve for backstabbing us. Especially since we destroyed all of their bases, and Brainiac's allies have trapped him." Kraang Subprime smirked.
WATCHTOWER, CAFETERIA
Most heroes see a news report showing all invading forces continuing to invade each city. It is now becoming the highest number of people lost casualties, and several places (Such as Washington D.C and San Francisco) were destroyed worse than the Triceratons' invasion. The four ninja turtles sat down, unimpressed about the result.
"We need to find a way to stop the Kraang," Leonardo said.
"Sure… if we found a way to break through the Kraang's barriers," Donatello replied. The human assassin duo, Jennika & Venus, sat next to the turtles.
"Look who wanted to join in." Raphael is not in the mood.
"O-o-o-okay… Our trustworthy meter seems to reach up a tiny bit, even after we escorted Splinter well." Jennika unamused. "Sorry about your home." She felt seeing the turtles' home were trashed.
"Nah, it's cool… At least I should move on from all my video game high scores, all gone forever." Michelangelo sighs.
"The Foot Clan ignored any tragic losses like we used to do. Especially when they don't give a damn about our old friend's death who helped us escape." Told Venus.
"So, what's it like to join the Foot Clan?" Leonardo asked.
"It's given us a different new personality… violently. It makes my sister and me feel better at first. Still, when your winter fox friend warned us about our poisonous mind, we could understand the clan's action even when they gave us the 'treatment' for our failure." Venus said.
Raphael looked at the scarface on Jennika's face and understood the two sisters' story. "I didn't know what you were going through. But since you're out of the Foot Clan, maybe you can stick around with us." Raphael said.
"Soooooo….. You were named after the planet Venus?" Michelangelo asked.
Venus just glared at Michelangelo.
April O'Neil, Casey Jones, Leatherhead, Alopex, and Mondo Gecko were sitting nearby, watching the four turtles chatting with Jennika and Venus.
"Heh, This goes well already." Casey Jones smiled while drinking a can of soda.
"Yeah." April agrees, then she turns to Alopex. "Al, you are responsible for changing Jennika and Venus' minds, even after you left the Foot Clan a while ago."
"Alopex, is the Foot member?" Mondo Gecko was confused.
"Thanks, April. Although I'm still not happy about why we bring my brother some of the villains into the whole Watchtower and- My god, looking at our planet through the window looks peaceful." Alopex tried not to grumble.
"Perhaps an explanation?" Mondo Gecko replied.
"He's right. You guys already remember what Titano said about the Legion of Doom alliance with the Kraang's army." Said Leatherhead.
Just then, everyone looks back at the TV screen showing footage of one of the supervillains: Hellgrammite, getting stomped to death by Chrome Dome in Gotham. Another camera shot showed that the second villain, The Eraser, got severely wounded in the same city. He tried to fire his pistol at the KraangDroids to fight back while crawling away until he got executed under Kraang Prime's order.
"Again, explanation." Said Mondo Gecko but was disturbed, while Donatello noticed the weapons each of the Kraang used to kill Eraser.
"Wait a minute, pause it!" Donatello told, and one of the Watchtower's workers paused the video, which allowed everyone to look at the Kraang's weapons. "Isn't that the same weapon the Lexpendables used to invade the Undertown?" Donatello said.
"Perhaps as former Foot assassins, we should tell you now that the Kraang still are using 'Brainiac.' Should we tell everyone to go with the explanation right now?" Jennika worried a bit, and everyone agreed.
WATCHTOWER, LOUNGE
Lex Luthor, Vandal Savage, Gorilla Grodd, Reverse-Flash, Shredder, Black Manta, Deathstroke, Ra's al Ghul, Queen Bee, Klarion, Circe, Count Vertigo, Scarecrow, Sinestro, Lady Shiva, Karai, Hattori Tatsu, Baxter Stockman, Tiger Claw, Bebop, Rocksteady, Bludgeon, Koya, and Tokka were sitting down on the lounge. All of them were waiting for the superheroes to enter. They couldn't get out due to Dr. Fate's magic completely sealing the lounge. Dr. Fate's magic is too strong to be penetrated, even for Klarion.
The villain's long wait is finally over when Omni-Knight, Rook, Ester, Titano, Zeno, Lucky Girl, TMNT, Jennika, Venus, Master Splinter, and the founding and core members of both Justice League & Titans enter the lounge.
"About time." Said Vandal Savage calmly.
"Alright, let's get to the point where you can tell the whole explanation, including your relationship with the Kraang after we stopped the army of troops last week?" Omni-Knight with his narrow eyes, despite wearing the helmet.
"I told everyone that Lexpend- Oh, forget it." Lex Luthor sighed as he finally admitted that he disliked his 'Lexpendables' name idea. "Let's just start with a long talk."
"We already know that the Kraang's responsible for my people's invasion, and Omen found out that your team of villains was part of the set-up," Zeno said.
"We used to team up with the Kraang because Brainiac made us introduce the creatures, and they were allies for a long time. When we first allied, we used the mutagen to create more mutants for our forces. We got along well at first, but those Kraang soon became greedy by making more mutants." Shredder explained.
"How about we skip to the part that we're gonna discuss about a giant eyeball machine that was about to kill us?" Titano interrupted.
"The Kraangs have already built a giant war machine called the Technodrome to invade our planet. They even used Brainiac's chip to upgrade their ultimate project, including that robot you faced named Chrome Dome." Said Lex Luthor.
"And how the hell is Brainiac's still alive?" Ester asked.
"Even a small piece of Brainiac's technology would resurrect him. My guess is that the Kraang took Brainiac's tech and used it for their own agendas." Luthor continued to explain.
"And now they took Brainiac away from us. They might have already poured the Lenopan onto a special mutagen and then used it as a giant shockwave for the upgraded Technodrome to turn the entire universe into mutants at any moment." Gorilla Grodd finished, and everyone was stunned by Kraang's plan.
"How about we skip to the part about the plan to kill the Kraangs?" Deathstroke asked with his arm crossed.
WATCHTOWER'S BRIDGE
Ignoring being watched remotely by Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher, Fire, Ice, Batwing, Blue Devil, Titano, and Zeno, both Legion of Doom and Foot Clan members watching the Justice League activate the Watchtower's binary fusion cannon.
"Uhh… I've seen a lot of alien invaders' movies, but I don't think shooting down that 'cyber peek' ship with our powerful laser isn't going to work." Said Hal Jordan dislikes the idea.
"It's the only way we can think of to stop all this." Said Wonder Woman, then turned to Martian Manhunter. "Is the Technodrome in a clear area?"
Martian Manhunter looked at one of the computer screens and saw that the Technodrome was flying over the Grand Canyon. "No nearby city sighted."
"Do it," Superman ordered, and Martian Manhunter fired the fusion laser cannon toward the Technodrome.
*PKOW*
GRAND CANYON
The upgraded Technodrome is still hovering over the Grand Canyon. At the same time, the fusion laser flew toward the war machine from the sky and managed to hit it.
*BOOM*
WATCHTOWER'S BRIDGE
Despite the big smoke blocking the sight on the computer screen, everyone went silent after the fusion cannon hit the Technodrome.
"Did it work?" Flash said nervously, looking closely at the computer screen.
The answer came when the Technodrome moved out of the blasted smoke and showed it protected by a shield barrier. The Watchtower's fusion cannon failed to deal any damage to the upgraded Technodrome. All of the heroes were terrifyingly shocked.
"Oh… looks like I was right!" Hal Jordan replied sarcastically.
"Heh, I thought these heroes' plans always work." Tiger Claw said with his headshake.
Suddenly all of the Watchtower computer screens went static. Then it showed Kraang Subprime in the Tetsu-Oni android body on screen.
"Is that the best thing you can do to destroy our ultimate weapon? By using your fusion laser right at us?" Kraang Subprime laughed on the computer screen. "Surrender now, or the consequences will be fatal," Subprime smirked.
"Surrender is not in our dictionary." Omni-Knight banters.
TECHNODROME, COMMUNICATION ROOM
After finishing hacking down using the upgraded Technodrome to hack the Watchtower's communications, Kraang Subprime now thinks that if any planet far away were contacted by the Watchtower, they would come to save Earth.
"Kraang Subprime, according to the shockwave completed status, the shockwave power has reached twenty percent status." Said the approaching Kraangdroid.
"Since they still have that space station, they might warn everyone about our master plan, especially if they fire their laser at the Technodrome again when our shield switches off." Then Kraang Subprime had an idea. "Is the long-range missile still standing?"
"Technodrome's strong air weapon contains ten long-range missiles that Kraang would use to blow up each of the largest cities in each race country, Native American, Asian, Indian, and Oceanian," Kraangdroid replied.
"Change the plan." Kraang Subprime grinned.
TECHNODROME, MISSILE STATION
It takes a little time for some of the Kraangdroids to prepare long-range missiles. "Fire the missiles and keep most of them slow!" Kraang Subprime ordered.
"FIRE!" One of the Kraangdroids pressed the button, which made the upgraded Technodrome fire many missiles upwards, and one flew up fast.
WATCHTOWER
Back at the Watchtower, everyone heard an alarm. Mr. Terrific looked at the sensor to see the red circle beacon moving towards the Watchtower fast.
*TICK-TICK-TICK-TICK*
"The Kraang fired back, and it's moving towards us quickly!" Mr. Terrific warned everyone.
"It looks like we are going to die with both sides." Bludgeon sighed.
"Somebody switch on our shield!" Batman alerted, but it was too late.
*BOOM*
Luckily the missile didn't entirely obliterate the Watchtower, but the impact wiped out the entire station's power. Without the Watchtower's power, it no longer tracked down the remaining missiles as it flew past and went into hyperspeed.
"What the hell just happened?" Spartan got back up after the impact, and everyone started to feel strange.
"The entire Watchtower's oxygen is dropping, and we have lost power. We have to go now!" Martian Manhunter senses the whole air is now lowing.
"I'll use my boom tube to get us somewhere safe!" Said Cyborg as he activated his boom tube, so all Watchtower's workers, heroes, and villains could escape, leaving the whole station dark and empty.
TECHNODROME, MISSILE STATION
Kraang Subprime watches the Kraangdroids switch on each missile's camera screens under his orders until they get interrupted by a familiar voice.
"You didn't destroy the Watchtower!" Asked the voice of Brainiac.
"I know, old friend. We wouldn't go with the easy kill. I force them out of the station so we can hunt them down fearfully, the same way we give the villains who turned against us." Answered Kraang Subprime.
"I helped the Legion of Doom with their armored project last week. Now I see they wouldn't need me anymore after they betrayed the Kraang." Brainiac's voice replied.
"And they properly join forces with those bunch of 'heroes.' Now that the Watchtower has been disabled, each of the faraway planets around the universe will never know that they will soon be given their new evolution bodies and badly weakened to stop the Technodrome." Kraang Subprime smirked and looked at one of the missile cameras flowing toward planet Rann.
PLANET RANN, RANAGER
Adam Strange walked out of the store with his new fancy suit until he noticed something approaching in the sky.
"Isn't that another one of the… Oh my god!" Adam Strange is shocked as one of the missiles crash-landed into the nearby area.
*BOOM*
The impact created a large wave of explosions, similar to the one from the Technodrome fusion cannon attack. Everyone tried to get away from the fireball as it destroyed various buildings.
NEW YORK CITY, MANHATTAN
Meanwhile, back at the ruins of New York City, Captain Traag's group searched around the area near the destroyed United Nations. In contrast, Sergeant Granitor's groups inspected the destruction of Undertown. They were still hunting down any remaining New York civilians to turn them into mutants.
"Captain Traag to Sergeant Granitor, are there any signs of the survivors around the underground city?" Traag asked his sergeant partner on the walkie-talkie. The Rock Soldiers only speak in the Utrom languages.
"Only injuries and lost aliens, but we have already taken care of them." Answered Granitor, meaning that his group has executed some of the Undertown's aliens.
"When you finish searching, make sure you search anything across one of the row houses that I'm sending the coordination to your whole group now." Traag continued while he picked up the deceased Ray Terrill's helmet and crushed it with his bare hands.
"Crystal. Sergeant out." Granitor understood before switching off his comm.
"Captain. Kraang's tracking probe discovered a human dressed in the dark vigilant outfit to camouflage in the nighttime, popped out of an alternate exit, a sewer pipe. It landed on the watery line called the river." A Kraangdroids spoke in Utrom to ensure the Rock Soldiers understood them.
"Let's both sewer and sea monsters search and eat the vigilant and block that pipe before any survivors find that as an escape route." Captain Traag ordered.
NEW YORK, EAST RIVER
Vigilante is alive after he popped out of the sewer while trying to battle against the Sewer Monsters, climbing up to the top of the wreckage of Brainiac's ship on the east river to escape from the Sewer Monsters and Sea Monsters.
"Give up, Rock Bottom people! I have the high ground." Vigilante yelled at the Dimension X creatures until one of the Sea monsters' electric spit shots knocked him down, and the rest of the Sewer Monsters climbed up towards him. Vigilante fired back with his uzis, but he felt tired.
"Should have taken any bullets from those fallen mutants." Vigilante continues while fighting back against the Sewer Monsters with his sword.
NEW YORK, MANHATTAN
Cut back to the alleyway somewhere in Manhattan, New York. Old Hob, Herman, Man Ray, Sally Pride, Groundchuck, and Dirtbag are still searching for Lindsey Baker. Still, they already had to hide from the Kraang's flyers and one of the Dracodroids patrolling around the city in the air. Old Hob and Man Ray duck and cover on both alleyway stair sides. Herman hides inside his dumpster shell to make the invaders believe he's just a regular dumpster bin. The mutant hermit crab even keeps Sally Pride covered behind him. Groundchuck hides in a pile of crates, while Dirtbag hides inside the trash can.
Herman peeks out of his shell and checks if any more Kraang or Dimension X creatures are coming. "We're clear!" Herman said quietly, and everyone got out of their hiding spot.
"Ugh… Any mutant mole like me rarely sucks at picking the better hiding spot." Dirtbag sounded disgusted when he got out of the trash can.
"Any available route?" Old Hob turns his attention to Man Ray.
Man Ray looked at his phone to find a better direction. "After the giant destroyed Undertown and our base, the WI-FI is now very hard to reach. I think we had to go through another alleyway straight ahead before those flyers came back!" He said.
The Mutanimals soon managed to find the row house where Lindsey Baker lived, but it locked when they tried to open the residence door. They tried knocking and ringing the doorbell.
"The scientist is not responding," Herman said.
Groundchuck had an idea. "I know the shortcut. We should try to find something sharp and use it to slice the glass window in a circle and-" However, his words stopped when Man Ray found the key under the mat.
"Oh please, anyone can leave their key under the mat. What a perfect way to give criminals their easy job." Old Hob sighed, and the whole team entered the house. Just as Granitor's group arrived far away, they began investigating the area. One of the tracking probe droids just detected their first target.
"Weapons loaded!" Sergeant Granitor ordered. The Rock Soldiers entered one of the houses and used the dart gun to turn the whole family into mutants while the probe droid continued tracking each house.
BAKER'S RESIDENCE, ROW HOUSE
Old Hob, Herman, Man Ray, Sally Pride, Groundchuck, and Dirtbag spit up and find Lindsey Baker around each messy room caused by the invaders. As they carry on searching, she is nowhere. Hob, Ray, and Herman go to the lab room.
"Clear!" Herman aimed his weapons around the area.
"She might be hiding somewhere. Look at everything inside." Old Hob ordered. Then Man Ray looks at the week's to-do list and reads it.
"Sir. I found out where she is." Man Ray shows Hob the list, and he reads that Lindsey has already gone to Long Island, New York, to have a date just an hour before the Technodrome's arrival.
"Lindsey went to Long Island with her girlfriend? Great, now we had to get out of this part of the big city! Is there a way out of Manhattan beside every destroyed bridge or the sewer pipes?" Old Hob said to Ray, while Herman noticed the file document and picked it up.
"The Queen Midway Tunnel leads to Long Island, but rubble or those invaders might block the entrance." Man Ray answered, thinking about what would happen if they reached the tunnel.
"Then we'll blast our way through. Let's go and tell the others." Old Hob pulled out his machine gun, and he, along with Herman and Man Ray, walked out of the room.
Back to Sally Pride, Groundchuck, and Dirtbag looking around the kitchen. "Don't think about using anything that doesn't belong to you." Sally Pride glared.
"I know. Unless you decide to use the drunk glass if anyone is thirsty." Dirtbag understood. Suddenly a tracker probe droid is seen through the window behind them and begins to scan the inside area until it detects the three mutants.
*WOOP-WOOP-WOOP-WOOP*
As the tracker probe droid tried to alert Granitor's group using the loud noise, Groundchuck fired his crossbow through the window and stabbed through the droid's body.
*WO-O-O-O-O-O-O-O….*
Old Hob, Herman, and Man Ray run down the stairs just as they hear an alarm. "Crap! They might be heading towards us now!" Groundchuck groans.
"We're leaving now!" Old Hob ordered.
OUTSIDE
Just after the Mutanimals got out of the Baker's residence, Granitor and a few Rock Soldiers spotted them and began firing their plasma rifles and Brainiac's weapons at them.
*RAT-ATA-ATA-ATA-ATA-ATA-ATA*
Old Hob, Herman, Man Ray, Sally, Groundchuck, and Dirtbag avoided the gunfire and used a few damaged cars as cover. Each of the Mutanimals grabbed their guns and fired back. But each of the Rock Soldiers' bodies they faced was too strong.
"They are made out of rocks!" Old Hob shouted while firing his machine gun at the Rock Soldiers, then ducked back down from the laser shots. "Used explosive weapons!" Old Hob ordered as he pulled the grenade pin with his mouth and tossed it at the Rock Soldiers.
*KABOOM*
Herman deployed his grenade launcher while Man Ray fired his rocket launcher at Granitor and a few Rock Soldiers next to the sergeant.
*KABOOM*
The explosion blew the Rock Soldiers into the rubble. Still, a second later, the residues joined, restoring both Granitor and the Rock Soldiers, and they carried on firing.
"More incoming, in front of us!" Sally Pride shouted while she, Groundchuck, and Dirtbag fired their weapons at the group approaching Kraangdroids. Still shielded, Kraangdroids fired Brainiac's weapon at them, so Sally, Groundchuck, and Dirtbag avoided the incoming shots.
"And they wasted some of our ammo here!" Dirtbag keeps trying to damage both Kraang and Rock Soldiers with his shotgun. Then Dirtbag switched his weapon to his pickaxe and used it to tear one of the Rock Soldiers' heads off. But the whole head flew back into Rock Soldier's body, firing Brainiac's weapon.
"BLIND THEM!" Hob yelled at Herman.
"SIR!" Herman replied. He fired his shell smoke bomb at the Kraangdroids and Rock Soldiers to allow the Mutanimals to escape. As they run, Kraang gets out of the smoke and fires Brainiac's weapons at them, but both team members are just out of sight.
"Send in flyers and the Kraathatrogon to chase after them now!" Granitor ordered.
"Look! There is a big van, and it has enough room for the six of us!" Man Ray shouted, then he turned around and fired his machine guns at the approaching Kraangdroids to slow them down. While the remaining Mutanimals break the van's door open, Sally Pride quickly hotwires it.
Sally Pride drove the van while Old Hob and Groundchuck sat beside her. Man Ray managed to quickly get inside the backside of the truck with Herman and Dirtbag before it drove off as the rest of the Kraangdroids and Rock Soldiers tried to shoot down the van until it drove far away from them.
"Slowpoke." Groundchuck teased, sitting on the middle seat. Then he notices a few Kraang flyers approaching the van. "Damn it!" He is now surprised.
"Turn another way!" Old Hob ordered at Sally. She turned the van left quickly, just as it almost got hit by the flyers' laser shot, but they chased after the getaway van.
*VROOM*
As Sally drove through the streetway, a Kraathatrogon popped out and began to attack the Mutanimals in the van. So Sally moved the van into the alleyway. However, Sally realized she had made a mistake when she saw a few people trying to find their way out from the Kraang blocking the way.
"Get out of our way, fleshling!" Groundchuck yelled.
"Just rammed all of them over!" Old Hob ordered Sally to do it, and Groundchuck agreed.
"But I-" Sally then sighed, and she had no choice but to follow Old Hob's orders by ramming people out of their vehicle's way.
But when they left the alleyway, more Rock Soldiers spotted them and tried to fire at the van, but it ran them over, and one of the soldiers jumped and landed on top of the van's hood. The Rock Soldier hanging on the hood uses his arm to smash through the windshield and tries to grab Sally's neck. Old Hob fights back by hitting the Rock soldier with his punch combo.
"Pass me the shotgun, partner!" Groundchuck told Dirtbag through the bulkhead that the mutant mole gave him his shotgun weapon. Then while he is avoiding the Rock Soldier's attacks, Groundchuck shoots closely at the Rock Soldier's chest, smashing a few of the bits away and revealing the bright spot.
"That's new!" Old Hob smirked, and he fired his pistol at the bright spot on the Rock Soldier's chest, making the Rock Soldier fall apart into the rubble of the van, killing him.
"NO! We have a soldier down. They must've found our weak point!" One of the Rock Soldiers saw his dead comrades fall out of the van.
The Mutanimals almost made it toward the Queen Midway tunnel, but the Kraathatrogon still chased behind their getaway van. So Herman, Man Ray, and Dirtbag open the barn doors and fire back, but the giant size of the Dimension X sandworm is too hard to hit.
"Ugh, it's too strong! Maybe try firing at his open mouth!" Said Man Ray, still firing at the giant sandworm-like monster with his machine gun. Kraathatrogon roared and began to charge toward the van. Herman fired his grenade launcher at the monster's open mouth. When it exploded inside its body, it killed Kraathatrogon, and the dead body is now rolling like a boulder. Lucky the Mutanimals' van went into the Queen Midway tunnel just as the dead Kraathatrogon landed and blocked the tunnel's entrance.
"Phew… Nice aiming you give that creature, 'Mr. Krabs'," Dirtbag patted on Herman's shell, but everyone heard an engine breaking down, and the van stopped halfway through the tunnel.
*BANG*
"Argh… Damn it, the van broke down. We are going on foot instead!" Said Sally, and everyone got out of the van.
Outside the tunnel, the disappointed Captain Traag looked at the dead Kraathatrogon blocking the entrance. "Attack them from the other side! He ordered crossly.
"Forget it. I just got a call from the Technodrome and Subprime telling us we have finished here!" Said Sergeant Granitor looking at the upgraded Technodrome coming back. The whole group knows why it is here, so they teleport away with the crowd of New Yorkers turned into mutants.
NEW YORK, LONG ISLAND
Vigilante finally climbs out of the east river. He looks up and sees the upgraded Technodrome is now hovering over the city of New York and lowering the fusion cannon.
"No… NOT HERE!" Vigilante is now horrified to see what the fusion cannon is going to do when it destroys the entire New York City, and it does.

*KABOOM*
The Technodrome's fusion laser destroyed the entire Manhattan, and the large explosion wave moved toward the other cities. Vigilante is blown away by the gust from the explosion. When he gets back up and then runs away to avoid falling objects and pieces, he needs to find cover so he won't get burned by the approaching fireball until he jumps down through the sewer hole.
NEW YORK, QUEEN MIDWAY TUNNEL
Old Hob, Herman, Man Ray, Sally Pride, Groundchuck, and Dirtbag were almost reaching the end of the tunnel when they heard a loud noise and then turned around to see the explosion wave headed towards them.
"Shit, FALL BACK!" Old Hob yelled, and the team dashed away from the impending explosion. They made it out of the tunnel, but the blast continued. So Old Hob quickly opened up the hole, and he, along with the Mutanimals members, jumped through it. Man Ray closes the sewer hole just in time as the massive wave of explosions goes past them.
"Jesus… That was so close!" Said the shocked Dirtbag. Then the Mutanimals saw the crowd of Undertown's people approaching in front of them.
"The people of the Undertown seem to have managed to make it through alive." Man Ray was pleased.
NEW YORK, LONG ISLAND
After the vast explosion wave finally cleared, Vigilante climbed out of the hole to see the horror. The entire New York ruins looked worse, and Manhattan became a crater. He then kneels on the ground.
"Why…. WHY DOES ANYONE LIKE ME UNABLE TO STOP THEM!" Vigilante shouted with tears in his eyes after seeing the city's destruction.
WASHINGTON, D.C., RUINS
The Technodrome had devastated the city worse than anything the Triceratons had done before, turning the clouds black. Omni-Knight, as Astrodactyl, hovering in the sky above. He has never had the most significant city destruction caused by the Technodrome. Soon Astrodactyl flew back to the enormous crater, which used to be the Hall of Justice before the Kraang destroyed it. When he saw Aquaman, Atom Smasher, and Jade entering the hole, he also landed in front of them.
"Any survivors around the city?" Astrodactyl asked.
"No, those survivors must've been taken away as prisoners after they mutated." Aquaman looked down.
Everyone entered the crater where each faction was hiding now that the Kraang had destroyed their bases. Lucky Girl tried to use her phone to call their parents, but there was no answer. She is now upset.
"Gwen, I know how it feels, separated from our parents. But if they were just normal people, unlike us, they would be mutated alive." Omni-Knight said, confronting his cousin.
All the villains sat near the bonfire while looking around the Hall of Justice destruction.
"It looks better than it was before it got destroyed." Lex Luthor smiled while looking around the destruction.
"First time inside this dump." Tokka lightens the marshmallow on the stick near the fire.
"Guys, could you keep your mouth shut? We are in the middle of the talk here." Booster Gold interrupted nearby, returning to some of the heroes.
"Good news is that the missile shot doesn't destroy the Watchtower. But since it has lost power and oxygen, it is very tricky to get back online, especially during the invasion." Martian Manhunter said.
"That's a mix. By the way, was it a good idea to bring those super criminals to our ba- I mean, hiding area? They are giving us insults a bit and calling me overrated." Said Booster Gold.
"You damn right." Bebop teased.
"We wouldn't leave them dead in the Watchtower because that's what superheroes do. Besides, after that 'Technodrome' disables the whole space tower, we cannot warn everybody in the universe about their ultimate weapon.." Batman answered.
"I like to let them go unheard." Tiger Claw replied and looked away.
Alopex is still not appreciated for Tiger Claw's personality. "Brother, you must listen to my friends here-"
"If they were all completely human, unlike some of us, Mongrel." Tiger Claw interrupted.
"Enough quarrel, ladies." Raphael protected Alopex.
"Would you like to see what it is like?" Scarecrow stands back up and aims his fear gas injector claw at Raphael and Alopex.
"We are not going back to doing that again!" Troia glared.
"What? You didn't throw some of us into prison!" Reverse Flash replied, leading all of the heroes and villains to argue until Jennika and Venus had enough.
"Alright! Quit it, all of you. Aren't we all meant to figure out how to avoid joining those villains in being hunted down?" Jennika yelled.
"Those Kraang may have come close to their victory, but there is still an alternative way to disable the whole barrier!" Venus is annoyed.
"Wow… Jennika and Venus's new attitude have gone pretty well." Donatello was impressed.
Rook suddenly agreed with the two human sisters. "You know what… Jennika and Venus are right!" He turned back to the Legion of Doom and Foot Clan. "If you used to team up with the Kraang, have you been into any of their bases?" He asked.
"Just the island somewhere." Karai answered, "Look. I tried a better way to make us get away from being on the wanted list by using evidence." Then Karai remembered something she had forgotten. "Hold on." She gave Rook her phone.
"The hell are you doing, Karai." Shredder glared.
"Let her do what she's been doing," Bludgeon said calmly.
Some of the heroes looked at Karai's phone to see the picture of the Burnow Island location. "I recognized Burnow Island; it used to be one of the government's secret bases many years ago until it closed right before the Justice Society formed." Grandpa Max said.
"Hold on, let me search for that 'Burnow Island." Cyborg begins to use his scanner to find Burnow Island, but it is a big problem. His hologram screen starts to shake funny.
"Argh! Damn it! They're jamming the signal! Those Metroids wanted to make the island completely secret, except those morons!" Cyborg glared at the villains.
"Like you, monkey," Deathstroke replied, then he turned to Klarion. "Now then, boy. Take us back to the island."
"Ugh… about that, I'm unable to portal back to the island. Those Kraang used something to block us from entering their base." Klarion sighed.
"Oh great… I bet the Kraang used a barrier shield. They loved using shields to protect themselves!" Said Flash crossly. Then everyone saw a purple light flying straight through the dark cloud above and popped out the upgraded Chrome Dome and some Kraang flyers.
"I think they are about to find us!" Starfire is shocked.
"Then we must act fast. If the government formerly owned Burnow Island, we should ask them for more info. Maybe there's an alternate way to get inside." Rook said.
"Good idea, Rook. The rest must find a way to warn everyone around the galaxy about the Technodrome." Omni-Knight agreed.
"And the rest of us?" Vandal Savage asked.
"You're all going back to your holding cells." Said Wonder Woman.
"And what if we resist?" Savage taunts back.
Batman interrupts. "We don't have time to bite each. So for this once, we'll work together."
"Oh, come on. They'll stab us in the back. Why should we trust them?" Superman dislikes the idea.
"This is our world too. But after we finish, we are back to being enemies again." Shredder glared with his narrow eyes.
So the heroes and villains must split into two groups and leave the area quickly by Klarion's red portal. They escaped just in time as the upgraded Chrome Dome arrived and began to scan the crater destruction of the Hall of Justice building.
NEW YORK, LONG ISLAND
The Mutanimals and crowd of Undertown walked through the city ruins after the Technodrome's fusion cannon destroyed the entire New York. Old Hob uses his nose to find Lindsey Baker, but too much destruction smoke keeps interrupting his track of smell. Groundchuck and Dirtbag looked at the few people who died from the explosion wave from the Technodrome's fusion cannon.
"Serves those humans right for harming us," Groundchuck said, kicking the dead human body.
"You must remember that they didn't attack our city twice." Sally Pride glared, walking past the duo, while Old Hob smelled something different.
"Reptile skin… Must be Lindsey." Old Hob said quietly, ordering the entire crowd to keep following him.
The whole group kept on looking until they saw Lindsey as one of the people being escorted in line safely by the cops approaching from the road corner. She's also wearing an ID mask to cover half of her body. So they hid in the alleyway, and then Groundchuck and Dirtbag quickly dragged the scientist away from the escorted line.
"Oh… it's you. I'm getting tired of being captured by you guys a lot." Lindsey Baker sighed.
"So as that StockGen's dumb gadget." Old Hob removed the ID mask from Lindsey's face and broke it; removing the device made her disguise disabled and go back to her half-T-Rex body.
"Look, let's make things quick since you're still alive. Those invaders have taken Lucy away from us, and we needed a new way to keep the mutants going," Man Ray asked.
"If the Lenopan is gone, it's too late to stop those creatures from mutating people further." Said Lindsey Baker.
"Should we do anything to fight back?" Said Sally Pride.
"I say while we keep the mutants going, we would let them do their thing." Old Hob agreed.
However, Old Hob's opinion surprised everyone about what he said. "Excuse me… Let them?" Sally Pride was horrified.
"I'm not on their side! I'm saying that if we keep laying low away from those evil creatures, they will make more mutants, and we all live on." Old Hob explained. Herman, Man Ray, Groundchuck, and Dirtbag agreed with him.
"Correction. However, I found this during our search for the scientist, presuming her work keeps her busy." Herman passed the same secret file he got from Lindsey's resistance to Man Ray and read it.
"People, I know your past action is for the continued living of all mutants, but whatever you do next will make you spend the rest of your life in the mutant chamber," Lindsey warned the Mutanimals.
"They won't be able to do that after they turn into mutants like us." Then Old Hob grabbed Lindsey in the throat and pulled her into the wall. "And the humans should respect the possible loss of Lucy! I will not listen to half of your monster body anymore! You must understand how much mutants have become now that you already have a dinosaur body." Old Hob glared narrowly.
"Hob, look at this file. There is one of the S.T.A.R secret bases underneath this city, and it's the same one that created the cure for mutants." Man Ray, wearing his glasses, shows his leader the file.
"They… didn't tell me about… the cure?" Lindsey Baker is surprised but trying to breathe because Old Hob is still grabbing her throat.
Old Hob tosses Lindsey into the ground, "If you work there, tell us where that secret base is, or else we will give you the same way to those humans." He warned heavily.
AUSTIN, TEXAS
Meanwhile, a group of superheroes and villains popped out of Klarion's red portal and moved toward Austin, Texas. While Hal Jordan/Green Lantern, is up on the air, contacting the Guardians of the Universe on Oa.
"Hal Jordan, Green Lantern of Sector 2184." Greeted one of the Guardians. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"Yeah, this isn't a pleasurable call," Hal said in a severe tone, which was rare for him to do when speaking with the Guardians.
"What is it that is troubling you?" Another Guardian asked in concern.
"Earth has been under siege by a warlord from Dimension X known as Kraang, and he has his war machine known as the Technodrome destroying cities," Hal explained, making the Guardians more concerned.
"Kraang is a potent threat to our universe." A Guardian declared.
Another Guardian spoke up. "We will send reinforcements your way as soon as we can."
"Thanks for the backup," Hal said, grateful for their assistance.
FLORIDA, TALLAHASSEE
Tallahassee is one of the cities that haven't been attacked by any Kraang or Dimension X creatures yet because Klarion hasn't planted the portal device somewhere. Suddenly, the invasion made a red alert warning, forcing everyone to leave the city. John Stewart/Green Lantern, Hawkman, Hawkgirl, Shazam, Lady Shazam, Red Tornado, Starfire, and even Sinestro and Koya were flying, patrolling around the city to see any Kraang sighted somewhere below.
"Don't you think it's a strange idea to bring Sinestro along?" Shazam said to John Stewart.
"I know, but it's not my idea and will be just one team-up mission!" John Stewart replied.
"I want to see what it's like to bring Black Adam along," Sinestro replied after overhearing.
A group of heroes and villains, including Tigress, Orphan, Omen, Booster Gold, Hawk, Dove, Lady Shiva, Scarecrow, Leatherhead, Mondo Gecko, and Tokka, searched around the city on the ground. Another group; Robin, Spoiler, Jade, Obsidian, Doctor Fate, Bebop, Rocksteady, and Bludgeon, was doing crowd control by escorting the civilians into the ankh portal while Oracle was on the Batcave's computer coordinating the heroes.
"None of our allies… 'plus some guests.' found any Kraang around the city during their patrol search, not even the crowd control where Robin and Spoiler were fighting two animals." Omen talked to Oracle on the comms while using her psychic vision.
"Alright… It's only a matter of - wait, did you say Robin and Spoiler are fighting Bebop and Rocksteady yet again?" Oracle talked through the comms and sounded confused, then she sighed.
"I'll give them an important lesson from Booster Gold." Said Booster Gold, who flew away with Skeets.
"Why is he speaking in his 'third person'?" Orphan asked, smirking at Omen.
"Bet we could understand what talking in 'fourth' would be like?" Omen laughed. Just then, they saw Lady Shiva and Scarecrow walking toward the whole group as Orphan looked away from her mother.
"Not happy to be working with your mother again? Shame." Lady Shiva noticed her daughter, Orphan, was not pleased to see her mother again.
"Hey! Terrible choice to give your daughter cruel words!" Omen is annoyed at Lady Shiva.
"Then what're your parents like powerful Titan members?!" Scarecrow smirked.
"I…" Omen tried to answer the question but quickly refused because of her backstory.
Back when Lilith Clay got her psychic power at a young age before joining the Titans, she discovered that Lilith Clay was adopted, then spent her whole life trying to find her real family.
"I don't want to be part of the argument. I better get back on helping give the other group their outside support." Omen sighed, walked towards the A.R.G.U.S HQ, and then used her telepathy power on the whole building.
A.R.G.U.S HQ
Rook, Arrowette, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Spartan, the four Turtles, Alopex, Jennika, Venus, Baxter Stockman, Tiger Claw, Circe, and Count Vertigo, were approaching the planning room.
"It feels a bit interesting to go inside the government base. Wonder if any of those commanders saw the Greek celebrity like" Circe looked around.
"And then you both get arrested after they realize that you're the villain celebrity." Jennika interrupted.
"Yeah. I remember Batman told us that Circe used to have a magic power to turn a man into a monster." Donatello replied, which gave Venus and Jennika a funny confused face.
Baxter Stockman, wearing his ID mask to disguise himself as his human self, opens the door by accessing the password to allow the whole group to enter the planning room. A.R.G.U.S members were in the room looking at the files about the casualties.
"This is a waste of time. We must evacuate our base now!" Maxwell Lord said impatiently.
"We hadn't found a proper place to hide safely from those invaders, even when they destroyed many cities using their giant laser." Emil Hamilton replied, looking at the TV screen showing the footage of the Technodrome destroying London with its fusion laser.
"Perhaps you people needed some escort from us," Rook asked, which made some of the A.R.G.U.S turn to the whole group. Spartan feels uncomfortable when he sees one of the agents, his ex-wife, Lyla Michaels.
"Mutants!" Agent Bishop shouted as he pulled out his pistols and some agents and aimed at the four Turtles, Alopex, and Tiger Claw. Tiger Claw is about to pull his gun out, but Alopex stops him by lowering her brother's arm.
"I know what you are thinking. The others told me to find and ask you a big favor." Baxter Stockman explained.
"Bullshit, it's more like they kidnapped you hostages and then forced you to locate us." Maxwell Lord glared, still aiming his weapon at the turtles.
"Look, everyone. We know what the mutants have done is reckless, like in Central Park, but not all are evil." Said Black Canary.
"I'm still bad." Tiger Claw interrupted, and Alopex gave her brother her narrow eyes.
Ignoring Tiger Claw, Leonardo joins in with the explanation. "Besides, we are the whole group- Well, not whole. But four of us did help the superheroes stop the Triceratons' invasion and even the Lexpendables' invasion last week." Leonardo explained.
"I can see that you didn't have the same ruthless attitude. It doesn't help that you bring these villains along." Amanda Waller looked at Circe and Count Vertigo.
"Just take us to an office which belongs to the alien brains in disguise as your general because we discover that his army is hiding on the old government base, which is Burnow Island!" Spartan asked.
"I'm with them. General Tetsu-Oni tricked us by thinking mutants are threats. We are to blame for mistreating them because we think like those aliens." Lyla Michaels stood up.
"And my thoughts are the same." Rick Flag agreed.
"Alright, we'll show you to Tetsu-Oni's office. If those mutants prove that they aren't so threatening." Said Amanda Waller, unimpressed.
BROOKLYN, NEW YORK
Meanwhile, a group of mutants led by Old Hob and his Mutanimals was already following Lindsey Baker to the secret S.T.A.R's lab somewhere around the ruins of New York so they could destroy the mutant cure. If they sighted any injured human survivors in their way, they left them dying in the street.
"After we destroyed all of the mutant cures, you think those humans can't shoot us down, and we can finally live on forever?" Man Ray asked Old Hob while watching Groundchuck & Dirtbag kick the wounded human out of the way.
"I hope so." Answered Old Hob. Then he notices an invisible figure on the rooftop nearby. "HUMAN SPY!" He shouted.
Herman and Man Ray saw an invisible figure as well. They, along with Old Hob, fired their heavy weapons at the hidden figure, making it fall off the rooftop and land safely on the pile of trash bags. The fall revealed the figure is the girl in the purple exo-suit armor named Nobody, AKA Angel Bridge. The gunshots destroyed the light refraction device on her hand and deactivated her invisible cloak.
"Ugh, those mutants have reached a further point! Where the hell are any heroes besides me?!" Angel Bridge said to herself that when a few of the Rock Soldiers spotted her, the armored girl dashed off for cover while avoiding plasma shots.
OUTSIDE A.R.G.U.S HQ, FLORIDA, TALLAHASSEE
"They finally found Kraang Subprime's office, but the door is locked. They changed the code before the invasion started." Omen said, looking at Rook's group in her telepathic psychic vision.
"Hold on! I got this!" Oracle begins to hack down the A.R.G.U.S HQ with the Batcomputer.
A.R.G.U.S HQ
Some agents, including Lyla Michaels, tried to open Tetsu-Oni's office door until Oracle's hacking computer suddenly opened that door.
"You can explain that part by asking their hacker nerd from far away." Count Vertigo grinned.
"Oh, be quiet you!" Spartan was annoyed, and he pushed Vertigo into the office. Then he turned to Lyla Michaels. "Listen, Lyla. Thank you for helping us find a way to stop the Kraang. All of the superheroes had one hell of an invasion. We had more than the previous two. Plus, their big laser beam almost killed me." He said to his ex-wife.
"Yeah. Big surprise to see you are still the same person since your military duty finished." Lyla Michaels smiled.
"I already miss you even when you are on agent duty." Spartan understood.
"Uhh… Spartan, are you helping with the searching around the office?" Green Arrow asked.
"In a minute," Spartan answered, then continued talking to Lyla. Green Arrow replied with his thumb up to his best friend and joined the others in looking around Tetsu-Oni's office for an alternate map of Burnow Island.
Circe found and looked at the drawn picture of the prototype design of the Technodrome before its redesign. "Now it looks weirder than the one we are dealing with." Circe criticized.
Venus found some maps and blueprints of Burnow Island in the cabinet. "I found the island's images!" She shouted, and the whole group gathered around.
"That's it… The same image before the Kraangs took over." Baxter Stockman looked at the image.
"What's with the circle all around the whole base?" Arrowette is confused as she looks closely at the circle around Burnow Island.
"I don't know. I think it must be the shield." Rook spoke with the same expression, as he realized something when he looked at the island's bottom floor map. "Wait a minute…."
Rook grabbed Burnow Island's underground floor map and then used the highlight pen to draw a circle around it. When he was halfway toward the top, everyone heard a phone ringtone playing Star Fox's SNES game's Corneria theme.
"Oh… sorry, it's just my phone ringing. Excuse me." Alopex was embarrassed, walking out of the office with her phone just as Rook drew a circle around Burnow Island's bottom floor map.
"Everyone, look at one of the square shapes on the furthest top right. It's outside the circle, which I believe we found our way in." Rook explained, and he looked at the island's coordinates.
Tiger Claw walked out of the office and listened to Alopex talking to Angel Bridge on her phone. "Now, Angel Bridge, I'm glad you're still alright, But you could have joined us in stopping the Kraangs." Alopex is pleased to hear her best friend is still alive.
"Sorry, the whole invasion has made me busy defending the city. Now I'm just calling you to alert the turtles. Those mutants are planning on destroying all of the cures for mutation." Angel Bridge/Nobody is on the phone; gunfire is in the background.
"WHAT?! They are going to destroy all of the mutants' cures, which must've been an order given from Old Hob." Alopex said, horrifying.
As Tiger Claw keeps on listening, he begins to smell something different from one of the nearby toilet rooms. Suddenly appearing by smashing through the toilet room's door was a Sewer Monster, spitting acid toward Tiger Claw. But he quickly dodged it and fired his blaster at the Dimension X's creature. Hearing the gunfire, Alopex turned around and saw the dead Sewer Monster.
"Hang in there, Angel. We'll be back soon as we can." Said Alopex, as she turned off her phone and then ran back towards the whole group with Tiger Claw. As the alarm goes on, more sewer monsters have entered the A.R.G.U.S HQ.
"Have they found a way to our HQ?" Lyla Michaels asked.
"If this whole place had better security." Tiger Claw groans while reloading his gun.
"We better escort all agents out before that giant metal eyeball arrives!" Spartan ordered. "Omen!"
"I know! I'll alert the others in the office fast. Alopex, Tiger Claw, you should understand the order given from Spartan." Said the telepathy voice of Omen.
OUTSIDE
Omen sensed danger approaching as the ground began to shake around her. "They're coming… NOW!" She warns with her telepathic communication.
*RIPPED*
Omen avoided the Dimension X creature popping out of the ground and revealing it as one of the Kraathatrogon. Omen fights back by using her telekinetic power to lift and toss the street light pole toward the sandworm. Still, it takes less damage, and Kraathatrogon begins to attack Omen until John Stewarts, Red Tornado, and Starfire show up and strike one of Dimension X's creatures. Suddenly some of the Technodrome's reinforcement shells appeared from the sky.
"Look out!" John Stewart yelled, and the whole group avoided the falling bullet shell as it landed on the city ground. When each opens after the impact, the army Kraangs, Machines, Rock Soldiers, and even Brainiac's drones walk out of it and begin the attacks.
"Brainiac's drones?!" Lady Shiva said and was surprised, along with Scarecrow and Sinestro, to see some of the drones made by Brainiac. But then they suddenly fired their laser eyes at the villains.
"Gah! That space tin can betray us!" Sinestro uses his yellow ring to shield himself from the laser shots. Koya threw her feathers attack down towards Brainiac's drones. Still, the shield barrier protected them like the rest of the Kraang's machines.
"Of course, they are protected by the same thing as well!" Koya yelled while flying away to avoid the approaching laser shots. Then Red Tornado spun around to create a Tornado and blew Kraathatrogon away until Kraangdroids and Rock Soldiers interrupted his attacks by firing Brainiac's guns at him.
Omen uses her psionic shield to protect herself from the Kraangdroids' laser.
"Alert the crowd control group! I'll get our guys out of this headquarters!" Omen ordered, and she teleported away.
"Welp, this is a bad moment for these villains. We should give it a comm alert!" Mondo Gecko said to Leatherhead. Then they were both hiding behind the building wall from Rock Soldiers' laser shot. Leatherhead tried to use his comm to contact both crowd control and Oracle, but something went wrong.
"Comm jammed. We should try running instead, boy!" Leatherhead snapped, and then he and Mondo Gecko started running. While they avoid the Kraangdroids' laser shots, Leatherhead smashes some of the Rock Monsters out of the way. Everyone saw Bloodsucker pop out of the ground not far away.
"RAHHH!" Bloodsucker roared.
"Oh crap, not this rampaging creature again!" Mondo Gecko looked at Bloodsucker, beginning to destroy the entire city.
Meanwhile, not far away. Robin, Spoiler, Jade, Obsidian, Doctor Fate, Bebop, Rocksteady, and Bludgeon just finished evacuating all the people out of Tallahassee.
"That's all of the people in the entire city. I better head to A.R.G.U.S HQ and get all the agents far away." Said Dr. Fate, and he used his golden ankh to teleport away.
"Okay, I may have sucked at this, but at least I managed to stop the fight." Booster Gold smiled and looked beaten up. Then he looked at Bebop and Rocksteady staring at Robin and Spoiler, which made them look away crossly.
"Fifty percent stopped fighting." Obsidian criticized Booster Gold's action.
"Least he did better than Dad did to us when we were younger," Jade whispers to Obsidian. Then she presses her comms. "Jade to Oracle."
*BZZZT*
"Let me try." Obsidian began using his comms. "Obsidian to Omen. Does anyone respond?"
*BZZZT*
Jade and Obsidian keep trying to use their comms to contact the other group, but they keep getting statistics. Leatherhead, Mondo Gecko, and Tokka arrived at the group in a hurry.
"Guys, listen! The Kraang are here, and they brought an ugly giant!" Mondo Gecko alerted the whole group. However, as he tried to carry on explaining, one of the energy blasts landed right near them and blew them all away.
*BOOM*
Everyone survived the explosion, but they felt the ground rumbling approaching while trying to get up. "THE TECHNODROME!" Booster Gold shouted.
A.R.G.U.S HEADQUARTERS
Count Vertigo unleashed his psychic wave power to stun some sewer monsters out of the whole group's way. When one of the sewer monsters tried to use its tail to stab through a few of the group members' bodies from behind, Black Canary turned around, and sonic screamed at the creature's face.
"We lost the telepathic link from Omen!" Rook shouted while helping Arrowette fire his Prototool bow mode at the sewer monster.
"Forget that teenage girl wearing a stupid green hoodie! We can get those sunglasses fiends our way." Circe groans without looking, secretly using magic to shut the door behind her and block the approaching creature's path.
Omen just appeared very close by via teleporting and glared at Circe with her arm crossed. "Thank you for giving me your whore words," Omen said, unimpressed.
"Omen! You left your post and are supposed to lead the ground search!" Green Arrow asked while firing his arrows at the sewer monsters and avoiding acid spit shots.
"Sorry, but I'm here to quickly get you off these headquarters because the Technodrome is coming to this city!" Omen answered, and when many sewer monsters used acid to get through the shut door, Omen used her telekinesis to push them further away from the group.
"By the way, we learned that Brainiac betrayed the Legion of Doom!" Omen continued.
"For once, that does sound serious. We can't leave because the others are still evacuating the remaining A.R.G.U.S agents." Rook said.
Cut to where the other group was in a different room. Spartan, the Turtles, Jennika, Venus, Alopex, Tiger Claw, Baxter Stockman, and even some of the A.R.G.U.S are fighting back against the sewer monsters. Spartan jumped over while shooting down a few of the creatures with his dual pistols, and then when he landed, he threw a knife at one of them. Michelangelo uses his nunchucks to fight against the sewer monster until they surround him. Then Jennika strikes the creatures down with her tekko-kagi, giving Mikey a chance to knock two of them down. Just then, Doctor Fate appeared from the golden ankh and began to join the battle.
"Good, their escape has arrived. While you get the agents out, I'll be right back!" Spartan shouted and dashed off while firing his pistol at the sewer monsters out of his way while avoiding acid shots.
"Where are you going?" Raphael yelled with confusion while blocking the sewer monster slash attack.
"If he needs more ammo, he should borrow it from Tony the Tiger here unless he might have something in his back!" Jennika replied, talking about Tiger Claw. But the mutant tiger ignores what Jennika just said to him. He is focusing on battling a wave of sewer monsters with his sister.
Spartan runs up to Lyla, just finishing shooting down the sewer monster in front of her. "Lyla. You move quickly to go and regroup with your government comrades." Spartan warns his ex-wife.
"But John… I'm not sure what will happen to you during the invasion." Lyla worried.
"I know, and I felt the same thing." Spartan placed his hand on Lyla's shoulder. "Listen, my team is contacting lots of reinforcement from outer space to stop the Technodrome-"
"Technodrome? That's what the killer eye called?"
"Well… I always thought it was an evil golf ball that refused to give players an eagle point. But anyway, you must inform the government that we need some military support."
"Alright… Show me your phone number." Lyla Michaels agreed.
Soon. Spartan escorted Lyla Michaels towards the golden ankh portal for her to escape the headquarters.
"I feel that you mutants better not have your finger crossed to the back, meaning that you're going to do something deadly." John Bishop glared at the turtles as he went into the ankh portal along with the A.R.G.U.S agents.
"That's not what the ninjas do," Leonardo replied as everyone watched the golden portal close. Just then, Rook, Arrowette, Green Arrow, Black Canary, Omen, Count Vertigo, and Circe entered the room just in time.
"All of the secret agents have evacuated safely," Spartan informed.
"Good, we managed to find Burnow Island's coordinates as well." Rook understood, showing Spartan the drawn coordinates' note. Then everyone heard a familiar sound approaching fast, and Omen sensed danger.
"Not this time! Everyone grabbed onto me!" Omen ordered. So everyone quickly gathers around and holds Omen's body before she is about to teleport away with them.
"We'll take a quick cab." Count Vertigo smirked, and Circe used her spell to teleport both her, Vertigo, Stockman, and Tiger Claw out of the headquarters.
With no time to argue, Omen teleports herself and the whole group away just in time as the headquarters get destroyed by the Technodrome's laser beam.
*KABOOM*
OUTSIDE
After two groups teleported safely outside the rubbles of the headquarters, Black Canary slapped Count Vertigo and Circe in the face. "This isn't the best way to race us away from getting killed." She glared.
"Guys, look! Kraang's war machine!" Arrowette shouted to the others.
Everyone at the upgraded Technodrome has already appeared in Tallahassee and invaded the entire city in its tank form. Many flying superheroes and villains tried to fight back, but the Technodrome kept their forces pinned.
"We got what we needed. Let's move everyone to the evacuation point and get out of here!" Rook said.
"Indeed, but leaving would be tricky because they jammed our comms, and there are too many enemies around us!" Omen replied.
"Omen's right. The only better evacuation point we could find is the area we are standing on now." Dr. Fate agreed.
"Don't tell me! We go towards the other group and then come back here as a dead body, good luck with how they react." Circe unamused. Then some of the Kraangdroids, Rock Soldiers, and Brainiac's drones show up and fire Brainiac's weapons at the group.
"Could anyone just get our guys back?" Green Arrow avoided the gunfire and fired his arrows back, but shields protected all the enemies except Rock Soldiers.
While Rook, Arrowette, Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, Donatello, Jennika, Venus, Alopex, and Tiger Claw dash off to get everyone back. Green Arrow, Black Canary, Spartan, Dr. Fate, Omen, Baxter Stockman, Circe, and Count Vertigo stayed behind to keep the enemies away from the evacuation zone. Stockman even deployed his Mousers to defend the whole area as well.
Omen fired her psionic blasts at the approaching Kraangdroids, but nothing happened because of the shield barrier. "Gah, Can't hit them! We push them back!" Omen shouted, annoyed.
So Omen slammed her hand onto the ground and used her telekinesis to pick up many damaged rubbles from the destroyed headquarters behind her. Then she tossed it all at the enemies, it didn't do any damage to any invaders, but it made them back up a bit. Unfortunately, as Omen kept using her telekinesis to throw rubbles at the enemies, she tired out after using too many psionic powers and needed a quick rest.
Spartan keeps firing his machine gun at some Rock Soldiers until he notices something landing near him. "GRENADE!" He shouted, and he jumped for cover.
"Try to do something nice with it!" Circe grabbed the grenade and tossed it back at the enemies while using her spell to make the bomb grow. The explosion knocked back most of the Kraangdroids and drones of Brainiac, but a shield barrier protected them. Some Rock Soldiers' body parts quickly reformed together after the explosion. They knocked Circe out by firing Brainiac's weapon at her.
In the middle of the city, Scarecrow uses his scythe to attack many Sewer Monsters around him. Then he throws his fear gas at them, only to find they are immune. Suddenly Rook appeared and fired his Proto-Tool pod launcher mode at some of the Sewer Monsters.
Scarecrow continues to fight against lots of creatures around him using his scythe. "Would these creatures remind-"
"You're not going to make me see 'him' in my version again and focus on the battle!" Rook interrupted as he avoided one of the Sewer Monsters' tail strikes. While Arrowette shoots freeze arrows at the Kraathatrogon, and she moves towards Hawk and Dove. Bloodsucker tried to attack the whole group but got distracted by the flying superheroes and villains.
Seeing Tokka trying to freeze a few Kraangdroids with his ice breath, the four Turtles, Jennika, Venus, Alopex, and Tiger Claw, managed to find the Obsidian, Jade, and Booster Gold, are still battling against the Kraang and Dimension X creatures. Despite the upgrade, Technodrome is attacking close by.
Bludgeon ripped one of the Rock Soldiers in half with his bare hands. "Isn't suitable to fight with the Technodrome very close," Bludgeon warned, and when a Rock Soldier returned to a regular shape, the blind mutant shark quickly blocked the attack with his one arm.
"I can SEE that!" Michelangelo yelled, and everyone avoided the approaching Technodrome's tank caterpillar wheel and then avoided the laser turrets.
"Fall back!" Obsidian ordered and used his shadowy power to avoid so many Technodrome's turret shots.
While running, Mondo Gecko turns camouflage to make him targeted hard. His whole body is invisible except for his clothes. "Wish I still had my skateboard." Said Mondo Gecko.
However, when the whole group unites with others and is about to move to the evacuation zone, Chrome Dome lands right near them. "Many targets sighted!" Said upgraded Chrome Dome.
"It's Chrome Dome, the copyright stealer!" Rocksteady backed away while firing his twin machine guns at the giant robot. However, shields still shield the upgraded Chrome Dome, and he begins to use plasma guns to fire back at any heroes and villains in front of the robot.
Arrowette is now horrified to see the upgraded Chrome Dome again when the giant robot looks at her and aims the back missile launcher at her. Arrowette is struggling to fire back with her arrows, and Rook dragged her away before Chrome Dome fired the missile and hit the ground.
"Rook, that robot!" Arrowette looked away from Chrome Dome, frightened, while Rook dragged her.
"I know how seeing our old foe felt! We had to leave right now!" Rook replied while avoiding the laser fire. As everyone kept running, Chrome Dome didn't stop chasing after the whole group, and he fired his eye laser toward everyone. But Leonardo blocked it with his twin ninja blades while running.
"We better prevent Chrome Dome, the killer husband of Rewind, from reaching the excavation zone," Raphael yelled while trying to throw ninja stars at Chrome Dome.
"How about one of those turtle powers, right?!" Venus replied while jumping over Chrome Dome's whip attack.
As they almost reached the evac zone, the four turtles, Jennika and Venus, stopped and began to hold off Chrome Dome by fighting against the giant robot even though he was still a shield. As the fight continues, Chrome Dome fires his missile launcher again.
"Missile incoming!" Donatello shouted, but then all of the missiles suddenly disappeared. "And it's gone?" Donnie continued until he was blown away by the wind of one of the missiles.
Jennika kept avoiding cloaking missiles. "That giant robot is doing the smart-" Then Jennika got blown away by one of the missile blasts and rolled on the ground. Her placement allows Chrome Dome to use the sword to stab Jennika in the chest. "Argh… Ugh!"
"JENNY!" Venus is shocked, and seeing her sister stabbed makes her lose focus; one of the missiles almost hits, and now she gets blown away.
"Deployed Chrome Sparks!" Said Chrome Dome, and he slammed his gauntlet onto the ground and created a giant electric spark. It hit Venus badly and landed on the floor.
"VENUS!" Michelangelo shouted. Upgraded Chrome Dome is about to finish the two sisters off until he stops when many superheroes fire some of their projectile attacks at the giant robot.
"Get away from them!" Rook shouted while firing his proto-tool blaster mode at Chrome Dome.
Upgraded Chrome Dome is thinking about fighting back until he notices the Technodrome is flying around and ready to fire the fusion cannon.
"Returning to the Technodrome." He said Chrome Dome flew away just as the Technodrome fired the fusion cannon to create a large explosion wave and destroy the entire city.
*PKOW*
*BOOM*
"Let's go, people!" Dr. Fate ordered and summoned his ankh portal to allow the entire group to leave. At the same time, the four turtles carried the injured Jennika and Venus into it just in time.
TECHNODROME, BRIDGE
Kraang Subprime is impressed that both groups of heroes and villains are afraid to stop the Technodrome and unable to protect Austin and Tallahassee. But at the same time, he worried that they would figure out how to stop Kraang's plan from turning the universe into mutants.
"No group deaths… Managed to contact the outsiders and sneak through my office!" Said Kraang Subprime sitting on the captain's chair.
"They are smarter than we thought. Don't worry about them. I know how to eliminate our enemies easily." The voice of Brainiac had a dangerous idea.
Kraang Subprime looking at the shockwave charger status on the datapad, it's reached fifty percent complete. "What kind of plan does your intelligent head have?" Subprime asked.
A few minutes later, as Kraang Subprime walked out of the bridge in his Tetsu-Oni android body, Captain Traag walked towards his commander.
"Kraang Subprime, sir. One Rock Soldiers' army has captured the US president and the VIPs. Shall we proceed to transform them all into mutants?" Captain Traag said as he was waiting for an order.
"No more making more mutants for now. Just order them to bring them to the Technodrome while contacting all of our armies so that if they find any humans or creatures hiding in their secret bunker, we'll do the same." Kraang Subprime ordered, spoken in Utrom language.
"Yes, sir!" Captain Traag understood with his hand on chest salute.
BURNED BLACK HILLS NATIONAL FOREST
Rook's group popped out of the golden ankh portal and reached the regroup point. They find out that Ben's group didn't arrive back from Texas.
"Bah… The other group arrived late!" Rook looked around, worried. While the four turtles quickly placed the injured Jennika and Venus safely on the grass.
"Does anyone have any healing power?!" Raphael shouted.
"I'm sorry, but none of us have any healing power, and Circe got knocked out during the battle." Answer Omen.
"We're sorry, you guys… At least… we are still trustworthy…." The injured Jennika smiles and coughs, blood coming out of her mouth. Robin doesn't want to see Jennika and Venus injured. Still, it gives him a bad memory that comes back to him in which Barbara Gordon, being paralyzed by the Joker last week, flashes in his vision.
"Is there anything we could do…" In a sad tone, Michelangelo worries that Jennika and Venus might die like what happened to Slash, Dr. Rockwell, and Pigeon Pete.
Donatello tried quickly, taking some items out of his bag. "I can't find anything better to save them," Donatello said, but when he looked at one of the items, which was the blood injector, he had an idea. "There is still a way, you guys. Let's share each other's blood!"
"Our blood… Umm, Okay." Raphael is confused but has no choice but to listen to what Donnie has said.
"What… are… you." Venus struggles to speak up, looking at each ninja turtle filling the injector with their blood just as Omni-Knight's group finally arrives by the red portal.
Stinkfly changed back to Omni-Knight. "Sorry, we're late. We are having a tough encounter with Kraang Prime- What's going on?" Omni-Knight looking at the turtles sharing their blood with Jennika and Venus, make their heavy wounds heal.
"Heh… We are going to be okay!" Jennika said happily, still lying down while she touched her chest fully healed.
Venus agreed, "Good job-" However, her expression changed when she noticed her fingers were now three instead of five. "Wha…"
Jennika now has three fingers as well. Then her skin changed to green, and so did Venus.
"Do we-" Venus now realized that her black half-shaved black hair was falling apart. "ARRGGGHHHH!" She screamed along with Jennika.
"What happened to them?!" Master Splinter is surprised, along with everyone else.
"We are just giving them our blood," Leonardo explained, but he was dizzy.
Jennika is now bald, and the arm and leg part of her ninja clothes ripped as she glows bigger. "My body… is mutated! ARGH!" Jennika shouted.
"Ugh… That's very boiling for the ninjas!" Venus yelled as her whole back glowed a shell and ripped her suit. Jennika and Venus are now the mutant turtles.
